Zach Weissmueller

Zach Weissmueller is a writer and video journalist who's been producing documentary shorts, video interviews, and feature articles for Reason TV and Reason.com since 2010. Some of his particular areas of interest include the regulation of the internet and emerging technology, free speech, medical freedom, sentencing reform, and the drug war. 

Judges honored Zach's video series "Anarchy in Detroit" with an LA Press Club award and called it a "An awesome piece of journalism." Some other memorable videos include his man-on-the-street interrogations at the DNC where he asked, "How pro-choice are Democrats?" or on college campuses where he asked students whether or not they hate free speech; he produced one story on a couple who went on to beat the EPA at the Supreme Court and another about a raisin farmer who did the same against the USDA. He also regularly conducts on-camera interviews for Reason with figures ranging from Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams to Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne to comedian and television host Adam Conover to 3D gun printer Cody Wilson.

His work has been featured on Boing Boing, Huffington Post, Instapundit, Pan Am Post, BuzzFeed, the Washington Post, Fox News, and Forbes magazine. He also co-wrote and co-produced the feature length documentary Can We Take a Joke?, which explores the intersection of comedy, outrage culture, and free speech. 

He lives and works in Los Angeles.
