Senators Ask DEA To Stop Buying Its Way Around Civil Liberties
Plus: Senate Republicans spar over TikTok and free speech, Americans can't agree on how to cut spending, and more...

"DEA agents were regularly paying for and receiving private customer information." Rather than obtain a warrant for some mailed packages or consumer travel data, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents paid employees at private companies and other government agencies to simply hand over information. In a March 29 letter, Sens. Ron Wyden (D–Ore.) and Cynthia Lummis (R–Wyo.) asked the Department of Justice (DOJ) to put an end to this practice.
Wyden and Lummis noted that the DEA "has for years paid confidential sources, commonly known as informants, employed by other U.S. government agencies and companies as a means to access data held by those agencies and companies rather than using compulsory legal processes, such as an administrative subpoena or warrant, to request that data."
This practice was first revealed in 2014, with more information coming out in a 2016 Office of the Inspector General (OIG) audit. That audit revealed that agents "were paying travel and parcel industry employees millions of dollars to covertly obtain Americans' data, which the DEA could have readily obtained through a subpoena or court order," noted Wyden and Lummis.
Following these revelations, the DEA said it had banned agents from paying Amtrak employees, employees of other quasi-government entities, and government employees for private information.
But "the Congressional Research Service informed Senator Wyden's office that DEA officials said the agency does not apply the prohibition on payment for information obtained in the course and scope of a source's employment to employees of private companies," Wyden and Lummis wrote:
The OIG found that DEA agents were regularly paying for and receiving private customer information from these sources. One agent reportedly received daily passenger manifests for buses traveling to and from a specific station or manifests of all passengers who purchased bus fare in cash. Another agent received passenger itineraries, ticket and baggage information, origin and departure airports, connecting flights, dates of birth and seat numbers from an airline industry source. The OIG found that agents would establish confidential sources "solely because the sources have access to private company databases and facilities."
The OIG also revealed that one DEA Special Agent recruited a parcel industry source who had unique administrative privileges to open packages en route to their destination. This source would search packages and report to the agent when packages contained currency. At the agent's request, the source would rebox the package to be sent to the agent. While the government would normally need a warrant to open a package sent by the Postal Service, these packages in the care of a private package delivery company were inspected and shared with the DEA with no judicial oversight.
Wyden and Lummis want the DOJ to explicitly ban such practices not only at the DEA but at its other component agencies, including the FBI, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and others. They also asked the department to provide unclassified answers to a number of questions about such practices by May 8.
"Over the past several years, law enforcement agencies like the DEA, [Customs and Border Protection], and the FBI, as well as sections of the military, have been buying data from data brokers," reports Vice. "This has included smartphone location data collected by ordinary apps."
A trove of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) records examined by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) recently revealed that DHS agents spent millions purchasing cellphone location data. Such agents are "sidestepping our Fourth Amendment right against unreasonable government searches and seizures," commented the ACLU.

Senate Republicans spar over TikTok, free speech. Sen. Josh Hawley (R–Mo.) yesterday tried to force a vote on his bill to ban TikTok—one of two competing measures aimed at the video app and its parent company, ByteDance. But Hawley "was blocked by a fellow Republican as lawmakers in both chambers are still trying to figure out what action, if any, is appropriate against the social media app," reports the New York Post.
Repeating the recent favorite hack trope that TikTok is "digital fentanyl," Hawley said that a ban would send "the message to Communist China that you cannot buy us."
"Speech is protected whether you like it or not," pushed back Sen. Rand Paul (R–Ky.).
When Hawley tried to suggest that banning TikTok was OK because there's no First Amendment "right to espionage," Paul told Hawley he was "unlikely to take First Amendment advice from someone who believes that the First Amendment doesn't protect the Communist Party…We should beware of people who peddle fear. We should beware of people who peddle half truths."

Senate Republicans spar over TikTok, free speech
Of course, only one party is even talking about free speech. The other one would rather just shut free speech down all together.
Most democrats want control over all social media, not just tiktok. So only Republicans matter.

To recap:

Transgender murders Christians in retaliation attack
Media paints Christians as hateful bigots over “anti-transgender rhetoric” after the shooting
Realize where we are
I don’t like where we are. I don’t wanna be where we are. But here we are.
I realize that. You better realize it, too.
Media paints Christians as hateful bigots harming children over law banning child sex changes
Transgender murders Christians in retaliation attack
Media paints Christians as hateful bigots over “anti-transgender rhetoric” after the shooting
Pretty much what I predicted a couple of days ago:
I’m sure the narrative will be “something something … christian bigots didn’t affirm shooter’s trans identity … mumble mumble … evil transphobes had it coming … yada yada … ” and then quietly memory holed and forgotten about within a week or less.
Just waiting on the last step of “quietly memory holed and forgotten about within a week or less.” Might have had the timeline off slightly, mainly because I forgot about the most important step of all, which is “use the pile of dead of bodies as a soapbox to demagogue about the need for MOAR GUN CONTROL.”
"Just waiting on the last step of “quietly memory holed"
This is why the complete silence from Reason shows what side they are on. The left.
If this was a mentally ill cis white man in a MAGA hat shot some trannies, we would have articles about how we should be weighing free-speech vs what could be hateful rhetoric, and seeing articles about how this puts LGBTQ people at risk. Completely ignoring it helps the process of memory holing it.
Remember when that black guy, who hated whites, mowed down and mass murdered a bunch of whites at a Christmas parade? Well not many do, because the media moved on about 5 minutes later.
Reason is intentionally not covering it because they simp for the leftist cause and the trannies.
“This is why the complete silence from Reason shows what side they are on.”
Absolute baloney. They haven’t commented on most school shootings that have occurred.
"After Uvalde, Politicians Push Irrelevant Gun Control Proposals"
"Could Colorado's 'Red Flag' Law Have Prevented the Club Q Massacre?"
Recent two big shootings with national attention. Both covered with multiple articles. One of which was a school shooting. Also numerous articles on Parkland back when it happened. And every other shooting that had national attention.
Please, my son. Dont tell lies that are so, so easily refuted. I feel a little embarrassed for you. My kids would be embarrassed after such blatant lies. I would think an adult would have higher standards.
Need any more cites?
“And every other shooting that had national attention.”
Not so. They haven’t written much about most of the shootings that have occurred. You came up with three.
I never said they don’t write about the topic at all.
Michigan State University, February 13th, 2023: Reason made no comment on the shooting itself, but did write about how Vanderbilt University lazily used ChatGPT to send out a message to the student body:
https://reason.com/2023/02/24/vanderbilt-dei-administrators-in-trouble-for-using-chatgpt-to-write-a-statement-about-michigan-mass-shooting/
Oh, and by the way, I found a few other mass shootings Reason wrote about, and there was a pattern of their not writing about it until about 3 days after.
For example, the MSU shooting occurred on 2/13. Reason wrote nothing about it until 11 days later, when they wrote about Vanderbilt.
New York subway attack, 4/12/2022: Reason wrote nothing.
No, Mayor Eric Adams Can't Put Metal Detectors at Every NYC Subway Stop

Stop. Embarrassing. Yourself. 4/13, the next day. I really cant tell if you are just hoping no one verifies that what you are saying is completely false, that you cant use the search engine well, you dont remember the articles from around the time?
Not covering this recent shooting is absolutely bizarre, and your attempts to pretend that its not are not fooling anyone here.
Laguna Woods, 5/12/2022: Reason wrote nothing.
There. I've provided three examples of mass shootings where Reason wrote nothing.
And they were genuine random mass shootings, not gang violence or a family shooting or something like that. It was really hard to pick out the geniuine ones because all one can find online are lists that include all kinds of gang shootings, etc.
Meanwhile, tReason is still ignoring the Gwyneth Paltrow ski trial.
- a very embarrassing false equivalence
Whatever train of logic you hopped on that dropped you off at this stop took you in the wrong direction.
Very same logic you and all the others who have written similar thing used: Reason hasn't written about X, so I know they are avoiding the subject!!!

Yeah, the progressive left at this point appears to be openly hostile to free speech as a concept or cultural value. Republicans aren't great on speech, but at least they acknowledge that it's an important legal and ethical principle even if they aren't totally consistent about it.

DEA agents were regularly paying for and receiving private customer information.
At least it wasn't free.
How is it not bribery?
Were they buying what was available to others or were they doing "journalism" and paying for confidential information that wouldn't be sold otherwise?
Because it's not a political enemy?

I'm kind of surprised no one's suggested bringing back prima nocta yet.
Prim Nocta is most likely apocryphal, but if they did initiate it, I'm thinking it would be to force cis-heterosexuals to sleep with transgendered individuals that are the same biological sex or to force lesbians to have to sleep with biological males who identify as female and lesbian, and maybe the same for gay men. Because by refusing to sleep with trans people, because you're not attracted to them, is totes transphobic (Reddit and ChatGPT assure me of this).
Prima Nocta is most likely apocryphal
I've heard that before. It's known, for example, that King Edward Longshanks didn't implement it in Scotland. That was one of several things they changed or just flat out made up for Braveheart.
Change My Mind: "Transpeople who bitch about not getting laid are incels"
Prim Nocta is most likely apocryphal
It's 100% false. It was made up in the late Renaissance/early Enlightenment as a myth about the Terrible Dark Ages.
Modern historians had almost done away with the concept when Mel Gibson brought it roaring back.
There are cases of lord's taking advantage, through force and coercion, sexually of their serfs and even yeomanry, but it was never done so by law or custom, and in fact, even well known tyrants such as King John and Richard the II, actively prosecuted it when they discovered it.
There are cases of lord’s taking advantage, through force and coercion, sexually of their serfs and even yeomanry, but it was never done so by law or custom
Correct. And as you say, they were even, every once in a while, held accountable for it.
If for no other reason then when the serfs were abused to much they tended to rebel, and kill their lord's. So it behooved the nobles to police their own.
They are. I'm a me ee in pure research, and the techies believe in an idiodic amount of crap. They come up with a stupid idea, try to tell me to do it, and my responce is "show me how". Every one of those retards sut up quick
Since it's a federal agency using our money to pay for it, they really aren't violating our rights. There's approximately a 100% chance that nobody doing it suffers any real consequences.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized unless we pay someone else to do it for us.
If they pay someone else then it's just "private companies" doing what they will.
Tech elites are in la-la land.
https://www.spiked-online.com/2023/03/30/how-the-tech-elites-lost-touch-with-reality/
So what happened to Silicon Valley? How did the tech elites lose touch with reality? And what does that mean for US politics? To answer these questions and more, Joel Kotkin – spiked columnist and author of The Coming of Neo-Feudalism – joined Brendan O’Neill on his podcast, The Brendan O’Neill Show.
Chances are tech elites, like most techies and most elites, never had touch with reality.
The tech industry seems to be largely overvalued, and this seems to be the baseline state. Remember the dot.com bubble? Musk says Twitter was vastly overvalued when he purchased it. How many of the big names have actually turned a profit? Let alone consistently turned a profit?
Surprisingly not many. It's 2001 all over again.
I'm not really surprised because their is very little real property involved and transfer of property, so therefore the earnings potential is hypothetical and venture capitalists can make a killing early on during the startup phase, but long term investment is very dicey as a result. Besides it always "the next big thing" and like any of the "next big thing" it rarely pans out. No matter how much they push the information economy, I still think that in the end, true economic success is based on actual production, which the information economy is sorely lacking in.
There was a good episode of Conversations with Coleman recently where Marc Andreessen, a Silicon Valley VC, explained that a lot of this is because there's just too much cash floating around with too few good places to put it, so that it winds up in unprofitable tech stocks, where most of it eventually evaporates.
Reason should return to carrying O'Neill's contributions.
That would be contrary to Reason's mission
Out of 16 things, the only one that even a majority agree we're spending too much on is foreign aid.
Then who's going to launder our money for our leaders?
Bet the polling switches if you change foreign spending to Ukraine.
Foreign Aid: Taking money from poor people in rich countries and giving it to rich people in poor countries.
+1
On point during this early morning commenting session.
He goes back to his roots later in the comments.
But put this into pseudo-factual context. Many Americans think foreign aid is one of the largest government expenditures, and consumes at least 10% of the federal budget.
These same people think 20-30% of Americans earn minimum wage.
From my experience, it's the opposite. Most people on the left I know seem to overestimate how many households are supported by anything near minimum wage. I know lots of people on the right that believe foreign aid is a huge budget item.
The left thinks minimum wage is a big deal while the right thinks foreign aid is a big deal, but I'll be they both get both of the numbers way off.
I mean… 150B to Ukraine is not a small amount. Which you've supported in the past.
Yea, Ukraine kind of takes the cake. All the small amounts we send aren't small, just small relative to the budget. We've made a lot of bad people really rich with our foreign aid, but have made very little difference in the lives of good people.
I mean, I'd be perfectly happy with only 1% of that...
Plenty on the left complain about foreign aid too.
Not if it is for Ukraine. Then again the neocons support that as well.
You're repeating yourself. NeoCons are simply progressives who read the Bible and go to church.
The core principle of the Progressive Movement is that people are too stupid to govern themselves, or to even elect people to govern them. Therefore they should be governed by unaccountable experts who are somehow set apart from the fallible masses. That's where all the executive alphabet agencies came from.
Conservatism started as a backlash against this, wanting to restore rulemaking to Congress where it belongs.
I don't see neocons objecting to the administrative state in principle. More over specifics.
So I'd say neocons have more in common with progressives than they do with conservatives.
So I’d say neocons have more in common with progressives than they do with conservatives.
And I'm inclined to agree with you on that. Many "neocons" were "liberals" or Democrats who got hit over the head by 9/11 and switched sides, but they brought their beliefs and baggage with them. Now, we see them going back home, if you will.
Many “neocons” were “liberals” or Democrats who got hit over the head by 9/11 and switched sides
The neocons were mostly ex-Trotskyite and New Deal liberals from the 60s and 70s who migrated to the right only because of their antipathy towards Russia and the New Left’s violent radicalism. Irving Kristol, Bill’s dad and one of the movement’s founders, had run in left-wing social circles up until that time period.
Reagan could technically be deemed as a neocon because of this shift, but that was largely because he didn’t agree with the Rockefeller Republicans’ more passive stance towards the Soviet Union, and he was far more populist and nationalistic than the current neocon faction would ever willingly admit. That populism was a big reason the northeastern Republican establishment backed the more milquetoast and malleable Ford in 1976, and Bush in 1980. They were not at all comfortable with Reagan’s robust Americanism and free-wheeling American West attitude towards politics, just as they weren’t with Barry Goldwater before him.
The type you're thinking of, like James Woods, aren't really neocons as we tend to think of them.
NeoCons are simply progressives who read the Bible and go to church.
No, neocons are largely atheist or agnostic, and to the extent they attend church, it's either for Christmas or in a congregationalist ministry that's more of a left-wing social club.
They're basically secular liberals that like tax cuts, military spending, and overseas adventures. That's why they punted so hard during the left's march through the institutions from about 1992-2015, until Trump snatched the GOP out of their hands. Talk to any of them today, and they can't bend over fast enough for little kids to get their genitals whacked, as long as the left allows them to continue the gentlemen's agreement they had to let the left control the nation's culture.
I said that they read the Bible not followed it. Also, the terms compassionate conservative and NeoCons are often interchangeable. And neither are truly conservative (nor compassionate).
Show me a compassionate conservative and I'll show you a liberal who opposes abortion.

Drivers are getting a bad deal these days. Whether it is because of exorbitant emissions-zone charges, road closures under various low-traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs), or just poorly maintained infrastructure, one almost gets the sense that there is a concerted attack on our ability to get around by car.
Nobody needs 23 miles of travel.
Maybe people get that sense because it's true?
My husband drives Uber/Lyft in Seattle and has driven many city council workers who are open about their desire for a 'car-less' city.
They don't see the irony either.
"...They don’t see the irony either."
And when they get a truck-less city, they'll wonder why they have to take an Uber 20 miles to buy milk.
I can't wait to see CA go zero emissions on trucks. It's going to be very entertaining from 1,000 miles away.
That will be *one* way to resolve the overcrowding at Port of LA...

They've always hated the idea that people can go where they want anytime they want to. Because they hate the very concept of freedom, and what's a bigger symbol of freedom than the ability to travel anywhere, anytime?

Democrats taking parents for fools.
https://www.spiked-online.com/2023/03/30/the-democrats-are-taking-parents-for-fools/
The idea of providing parents with transparency should be uncontroversial. Gripped by partisanship on the issue, however, Democrats have adopted a stance that blindly opposes whatever Republicans say. For instance, House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries claimed that the Parents Bill of Rights Act is all about ‘jamming the extreme MAGA-Republican ideology down the throats of the children and the parents of the United States of America’. Similarly, Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez deemed the bill fascist. During a House debate on the bill, she stated: ‘When we talk about progressive values, I can say what my progressive value is, and that is freedom over fascism.’ Such absurd name-calling is unlikely to persuade many concerned parents.
Remember, “it takes a village”.
The full quote:
The village will take your child to raise.
"When we talk about progressive values, I can say what my progressive value is, and that is freedom over fascism.’ Such absurd name-calling is unlikely to persuade many concerned parents."
You mean parents wont take kindly to a shrill, idiotic, progressive socialist barista, who has no (and probably wont have) children and will end up being an intersectional feminist spinster, who doesn't have an ounce of substance in her head that isnt left wing propaganda, lecturing them that they have no business interfering with her activist colleagues indoctrinating their children to hate themselves and this country...who would have fucking thought
Her energy is very much that of the naive, ignorant teen girl who tries to lecture her parents that they need to 'do better' after she attended her first protest.
I love "Only Fascists Question What The State Teaches Their Children" as a dem campaign slogan. They should run with that hard. Really lean into it.
“Only Fascists Question What The State Teaches Their Children”
Of course, the issue here is that such a large portion of the electorate is too ignorant and/or brainwashed to realize the hypocrisy of her statements.
They have successfully instilled 'everything an R does is fascism' so well into their constituents that they can carry out fascism in broad daylight and they dont bat an eye, because after all, these are the ANTI-fascists guys, they are fighting the fascists!
Dems worked for 50 years to flood schools to indoctrinate kids. No fair you finally noticed.
It is fascinating that AOC considers fascism parental oversight of what the government school system is doing with their kids.
It's important to remember that she's a marxist, and to a marxist, anyone who resists their ideology is a fascist.
Bingo.
The ironic bit is she's a fascist who thinks she's a Marxist.
Sub "Zionists" in for "Jews" and you won't see a lick of difference between the 25 points of the Nazi party platform and AOC.
Yes, today's progressives are far closer to fascists than Marxists (which isn't surprising as progressivism and fascism have common roots and an incestuous relationship to each other).
Marxism: people are units of abstract identity class, not individuals; humanity is composed of abstract identity classes at eternal war with each other to determine the oppressor/oppressed dynamic
Progressivism: society is to be organized from the top down, centrally planned, comprehensively implemented via State authority & force (physical, legal, economic, social), with the ultimate aim of socially engineering "New Man" in spite of natural/unguided evolution
Which could be cribbed noted from Mein Kampf. I've read exerts in books about the third Reich that quoted a certain Austrians writings and speeches that said almost those exact words.
I think Hitler actually wrote in there that one of the reasons he hated Communists so much is that you could get in a discussion with them about something, and the next day they'd act as if it had never taken place. You see this same tactical ignorance going on today, as well as in our resident sea lion who's muted everyone that provides him the cites he wants.
I think I remember something like that.
But it should be noted most fascists started out as either socialists or Marxists that grew disillusioned with those movements.
One Benito Mussolini being the classic case in point. The founder of fascism, for Pete's sake, was a socialist who split with them over WWI.
Many of the higher up in the Nazi movement that Hitler later got rid of were shit canned because they were complaining Hitler wasn't socialist enough for them.
She's Chiquita No Bananas Today

Fascinating and also very telling. Assuming of course that one has a functioning brain, which most of her constituents don't. She knows all she has to do is screech "RethugliKKKan Nazis! Fascism! Herpa derpa deripity derpy dumb!" and they'll believe whatever she tells them to.
Kind of mirrors how Trump can say similar things about the left and his followers eat it up without questioning.
"...extreme MAGA-Republican ideology..."
This term is reaching the same worthlessness as "racist".
The progs need a new shtick.
Reaching? Shark was jumped years ago.
No, progressive ideology is not partisan opposition. They don't give a shit what Republicans and others think. Progressives are economic and cultural Marxists and will say and do anything to implement their totalitarian agenda.
Correct
The idea of providing parents with transparency should be uncontroversial. Gripped by partisanship on the issue, however, Democrats have adopted a stance that blindly opposes whatever Republicans say.
No, that's not really true. Since its inception, progressivism has believed that the state, rather than parents, should take the central role in the rearing of children. John Dewey even said, straight out, that the progressive goal in education was to make children "as unlike their parents as possible". They tend to make this idea a little more explicit when they think progressivism is ascendant (anyone remember the MSNBC ads about how kids belong to society?) and scurry when people object.
and scurry when people object.
At least they used to scurry back under whatever rock they crawled out from, now it seems like instead they're just ramping their rhetoric up to 11 and screeching even louder (see the AOC quote above). I can only assume that's because they feel like they're so close to getting the full societal control they've always dreamed of. Just one last full court press and they'll be there.
Unfortunately, they may be correct.
They have too much control to turn the ship from the iceberg.
"Democrats have adopted a stance that blindly opposes whatever Republicans say."
Add that to the list of things Democrats project onto others.
Here's the thing, when people are specifically hiding stuff from parents regarding their children that should raise a red flag to everyone. I'm not talking the obvious exceptions, such as suspects abuse of any kind, but routinely hiding stuff from every parent and telling us we have no right to know (see the video from New Mexico, or the new policies in some Maryland school districts or the NEA president stating parents have no role in kids education or the thousands of social media posts of teachers bragging about hiding stuff from parents). There simply is no good reason not to. My kids' teachers have always told us that we were part of a team, that they welcomed us into the classroom and for feedback. Maybe that's the difference between rural schools and big city schools, in rural schools you know the parents, as the parents know the teachers, and nothing is really hidden for very long. So, they couldn't get away with hiding shit even if they tried. We did have a teacher (female) inappropriately texting an underage student (male) and the whole town knew about it pretty quickly, and the school board and superintendent couldn't sweep it under the rug (despite the teacher being the new daughter in law of the then Mayor, who did try and keep it quiet).

It should be pointed out an offended tournament adult judge kicked out a kid who traveled for the event.
Was the kid from a MAGA fly-over county? Nobody wants those primitives around.
Wrong skin color.
Shit like that happens in an environment where one doesn't fear physical consequences
This. I was bullied relentlessly until I entered middle school. The bullying stopped when both the bullies and I discovered that I could punch really fucking hard.
The kid should have just said "Really? As I clearly stated, my preferred pronouns are 'um he' or 'him' or 'uhhhh haha his’. If you don't accept these my attorney will be glad to speak with you and your organization."
Actually have a question for some here. Kid wants to get into these games. But with wizards and Pokémon groups going woke... Are there other card games I can support for him?
Is yugioh woke yet?
Yugioh will never "go woke" because the Japanese do not care about such things, also only white people give a shit about wokeness and like 75% of Yugioh players are black.
I just got back from Japan. Guess how many rainbow flags I saw. Go on, guess.

Dems aren't even bothering to lie about the purpose of the inflation reduction act.
BIDEN: "The Inflation Reduction Act is the most transformal, the transformational investment in our climate ever, anywhere in the world!"
It is somehow refreshing that progressives gave up most pretense.
They don't need pretense.
Their stated goals are to make our lives significantly worse, and we don't do a damn thing.
They tricked Joe Manchin. Mr Principles definitely didn't know that Joe had his fingers crossed behind his back.
Totalitarian Trudeau versus free speech.

Canada’s Online Streaming Act, or Bill C-11—which is now being debated in Parliament and would make online streaming services prioritize Canadian content the same way Canada’s television and radio stations are regulated—would curtail that kind of organic growth, sharply limiting the rise of future Biebers.
Canada’s Liberals insist the point of Bill C-11 is simply to update the 1991 Broadcasting Act, which regulates broadcasting of telecommunications in the country. The goal of the bill, according to a Ministry of Canadian Heritage statement, is to bring “online broadcasters under similar rules and regulations as our traditional broadcasters.”
In other words, streaming services and social media, like traditional television and radio stations, would have to ensure that at least 35 percent of the content they publish is Canadian content—or, in Canadian government speak, “Cancon.”
We must have more of The Red Green Show
More poutine!
What does 35% Canadian Content even mean in the context of a platform like YouTube, say? The algorithm has to show Canadians video offerings which are 35% Canadian? Canadian have to watch 35% Canadian videos? The entire library has to have 35% Canadian content worldwide? Would a channel like Viva Frei count?
YouTube just needs to track what people watch, and after a certain time, only offer Canadians content from Canada.
"It's been 6 hours since your last Maple Break. You must watch 193 minutes and 51 seconds of Canuck Approved Content before you can go back to watching something good. It's the law."
MAPL Break, actually, and it goes back to 1971.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_content
However, the CanCon rules those hosers passed did bring us Bob and Doug McKenzie, eh.
Hey, it’s Canadian content quotas that gave us Bob and Doug McKenzie:

And you’re a dollar short and a day late. Already mentioned it hours before you did.
Trudeau is so retarded he can barely tie his own shoes. His deputy prime minister and éminence grise, Chrystia Freeland (who also happens to be a director of the WEF), is the one pushing this.
And her aim is definitely to censor the internet. She doesn't actually give a damn about Canadian content.
This.
sharply limiting the rise of future Biebers.
That sounds like a good thing to me.
If not for the 1991 broadcast act you'd have to drive to Saskatoon to buy a Gordon Lightfoot record. If such a thing even existed.
If it sharply limits the rise of future Biebers, I'm all for it.
James OKeefs New venture is out and opening Salvo is investigating Act Blue money laundering.
For example, one senior citizen was recorded as making over 1,000 individual donations in the year 2022 for a total of a little over $18,000. That would mean she was donating to ActBlue three times a day for an entire year. When asked if she had purposefully donated so frequently to the organization, the Maryland senior told O’Keefe that while she had donated a few dollars here and there, she absolutely had not donated that much money, nor that many times.
https://redstate.com/kiradavis/2023/03/29/bombshell-james-okeefe-uncovers-massive-potential-political-money-laundering-to-democrat-campaigns-n723020
The process. Thousands of small donations to avoid reporting rules for donations. Obama used the same system and was caught getting foreign donations.
Many residents shown to have donated thousands of times, up to 10 times a day, which they admit they did not do.
Left loves money laundering to their campaigns.
They gotta get their Ukrainian oligarch donations through the system somehow.
Why do you think they got pissy over the end of SFX? That was a major money launderer for them. It's also why they want to defend Ukraine so much. It's Biden's money laundering haven.
The entire Ukraine is a known money laundering vehicle for them. Why they are so interventionist there.
Obama even had the balls to let the media report how his campaign was primarily funded by small donations.
Deep dives into the covid studies by the CDC show many basic errors as they pushed narratives.

Not errors, this shit was intentional and used to wield control.
The utter lack of alphabet agency accountability just shows we are down to the last box.
"The CDC found itself hoist with its own petard by making 25 basic statistical and numerical errors related to COVID-19, particularly with regard to children, while purporting to expose COVID vaccine misinformation, according to an analysis led by University of California San Francisco epidemiologists."
How long until the IRS shows up at the authors' houses?
I wonder what degree of this was intentional. These agencies are clearly not populated with the best and brightest, but there's no way that non-morons didn't see the problems. They were either too committed to the narrative to speak up, or they were shut up by others who were.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio blasted the Pentagon’s increasingly leftward bent as it struggles to keep up with national security interests.
“The United States military is the greatest fighting force in the world, but woke activists in the Biden Administration are undermining military readiness, cohesion, and purpose,” Rubio, R-Fla., told The Center Square. “We cannot allow these left-wing crazies to hollow out our military. The world is an increasingly dangerous place and America’s security requires a strong military capable of deterring – and if need be, defending – our nation.”
Rubio’s comments come after The Center Square reported that the Pentagon is struggling to fulfill military requests even as it increasingly gives attention, and funds, to diversity, gender and critical race theory issues.
Feature, not a bug. It's about bringing an end to American exceptionalism.
What does that have to do with American exceptionalism, at least as it was described by Tocqueville?
You can't even get his name right. Doubt you've read Democracy in America.
Did the Master Baiter post a thoughtful reply or a personal attack? I know the answer to that one without Unmuting it.
Poor sarc.

It’s a blob of dough with ketchup on top.
Bread bowl with cheese and ketchup.
Chicago style is the only pizza
Any pizza under 10lbs isn't pizza. Better than the blob of greese that is NY pizza
The same blobs of grease are in Chicago pizza. Just 5 inch thick crust doesn't let it leak through.
Oddly I like Detroit style pizza the most.
Neapolitan Pizza or forget it.
I like deep dish and thin crust.
I don't actually know what Detroit style is.
When I was in Rome I thought the pizza was essentially pizza bread.
I also like pineapple on pizza sometimes...

Detroit is bread, cheese, then sauce and toppings.

You're dead to me.
The Michigan square pizza is the ultimate. Chicago deep dish is a pretender.
The Greeks make a good, crispy and thin crust that doesn't sog out like NY style. My favorite.
Count me in for NY style. The thin crust should barely be able to hold up the toppings. But it should still weigh 10 pounds.
Chicago style pizza is the best thing about Chicago
Then you don’t know anything about Chicago.

As population growth in the nation’s largest counties rebounded in 2022, Illinois continued to see population losses.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Vintage 2022 estimates, 92 of Illinois' 102 counties lost residents from July 2021 to July of last year. Cook County lost a staggering 68,314 people, the second highest total by number in the country behind only Los Angeles County.
And we have Democrats in denial.
Despite the nonpartisan data from the Census Bureau, Gov. J.B. Pritzker said Illinois’ population is increasing.

Sounding like a Quaalude Savior, President Biden droned to foreign leaders Wednesday about how he’ll rescue world democracy.
Democracy last year “declined around the world for the 17th consecutive year,” per Freedom House.
Most shocking: America is now categorized as less free than Mongolia, Mauritius and 56 other nations, according to Freedom House (funded by the US government).
Quaalude Savior
Are we still doing band names?
Of course! I'd say "Less Free Than Mauritius" is not bad, albeit perhaps too similar to "Better than Ezra".

Trump rips DeSantis for calling Putin ‘authoritarian gas station attendant’

https://www.scmp.com/news/world/united-states-canada/article/3215372/trump-rips-desantis-calling-putin-authoritarian-gas-station-attendant
Trump was President for 4 years.
During that time Putin didn't invade Ukraine.
Then Joe "Putin Fears Me" Biden took over.
Only then did Putin invade Ukraine.
I'm sorry if the facts don't support your childish #Resistance pee tape fantasies. Thought you would have learned your lesson after Mueller didn't deliver the smoking gun you wanted.
Awesome
Dont forget invading Crimea under O's watch.
Certainly seems like he doesn't fear a D president in the least, and if anything, at least had a healthy enough fear of Trump's inability to back down from a pissing contest.
The Trump-Russia narrative had already been proven so false at every turn, but it was nice to get confirmation that the media manufactured the whole thing in the end because of Hillary cope
“had a healthy enough fear of Trump’s inability to back down from a pissing contest”
Pure conjecture.
He had an infinitely better result than either democrat that flanked him.
Whats infinity x 2?

Not really. Could well have been pure luck that Putin didn't decide to invade during Trump's administration.
Donnie was helping Vlad weaken NATO and Ukraine.
Remember Donnie bribed Zelensky to "convict" Biden in a classic Kremlin maneuver.
If NATO and Ukraine were so weakened by Trump, as you claim, then why didn't Vladi invade then? Why did he take Crimea when Obama was President?
Donnie has admitted that it would all be over if he were POTUS. That he would have sacrificed Ukraine to Vlad without resistance.
Putin expected he would help Fatass Donnie win again in 2020.
You still failed to answer the question.
Why didn’t Vladi invade then? Why did he take Crimea when Obama was President?
Or do you just not like the answer, progtard?
"That he would have sacrificed Ukraine to Vlad without resistance."
He said that?
Yes. He said that.
He admitted that there would be no conflict. He would save Russia in to expand at will.
Ukraine is not of strategic importance to the US. They are not a member of NATO, much less the EU.
So not intervening in a conflict that doesn't involve us is "sacrificing"? You want the US to be world police forever? There is a lot I loath about Trump, but not starting a war with Russia is not one of them.
Not giving hundreds of billions of dollars to Ukraine would be good too.
Yup, Trump should have helped by "investing" in Ukraine, like the Biden family did.

A Senate Republican revealed during a March 28 hearing that an internal Department of Justice (DOJ) memo dissuaded U.S. Marshals from arresting protestors in violation of laws against picketing the homes of judges.
The materials revealed during the hearing show that U.S. Marshals were explicitly directed not to arrest protestors at the homes of Supreme Court (SCOTUS) justices.
It is amazing watching all the Biden officials blatantly lie on the stand and then claim ignorance when the lies are discovered. Always a low level official.
No Deep State exists, or so I'm told.

Prof: It’s more admirable to kill a racist, homophobic, transphobic speaker than shout them down
https://twitchy.com/brettt-3136/2023/03/27/prof-its-more-admirable-to-kill-a-racist-homophobic-transphobic-speaker-than-shout-them-down/
So here is what I think about free speech on campus. Although I do not advocate violating federal and state criminal codes, I think it is far more admirable to kill a racist, homophobic, or transphobic speaker than it is to shout them down.
When right-wing groups invite such speakers to campus, it is precisely because they want to provoke an incident that discredits the left, and gives more publicity and validation to these reprehensible views than they could otherwise attain. The protesters get blamed instead of the bigoted speaker; the university administration finds a perfect excuse to side publicly with the racists or phobes; the national and international press has a field day saying that bigots are the ones being oppressed, rather than the people those bigots actually hate being the victims of oppression.
In short, every time protestors shout down a racist or transphobic speaker, they are indulging their own moral sense of validity at the expense of actually strengthening the very bigots against whom they are protesting.
The exemplary historical figure in this regard is Sholem Schwarzbard, who assassinated the anti-Semitic butcher Symon Petliura, rather than trying to shout him down. Remember that Schwarzbard was acquitted by a jury, which found his action justified.
I think it is far more admirable to kill a racist, homophobic, or transphobic speaker than it is to shout them down.
It's important to remember when people like Shaviro, or AOC, or Jeffries, or any other leftist uses these pejoratives, what they really mean is, "people who don't think 100% like me."
There's not a dime's worth of difference between these people, the Bolsheviks, or the Red Guard. Treat them accordingly.
^ This is absolutely correct. They are all basically the same.
And they hate you and will destroy you given the chance.
I think it is far more admirable to kill a racist, homophobic, or transphobic speaker...
Of course they get to define what each of these terms mean.
I'll say it again:
We are at genocide stage 7. These creatures are openly discussing murdering political enemies.
Haven’t you engaged in a bit of that type of discussion, yourself?
"When right-wing groups invite such speakers to campus, it is precisely because they want to provoke an incident that discredits the left"
We can not allow anything to discredit the left, or democracy will die.
He's flat-out admitting that his side has so little self-control that it can't keep from tard-raging when someone they don't like is on their territory. I heard the same stupid bullshit from Zoomer insurgents during the Floyd riots.
Your enemies are coming for you. Prepare accordingly
The exemplary historical figure in this regard is Sholem Schwarzbard, who assassinated the anti-Semitic butcher Symon Petliura, rather than trying to shout him down.
Symon Petliura was doing a little more than just speaking at campuses. And still there was a trial and it was far from a slam dunk that Schwarzbard wasn't found guilty of murder.
SALTY: Twitter user claims white people don’t season their food because of racism
https://twitchy.com/fuzzychimp-313137/2023/03/19/salty-twitter-user-claims-white-people-dont-season-their-food-because-of-racism/
The reason white ppl don’t season food is bc historically, rich white ppl began to think seasoning was for brown ppl who had to season their food bc they couldn’t afford better tasting meat. They also associated unseasoned food w cleanliness & moral purity, calling it “clean” or “simple” eating. In medieval Europe the rich felt that once spices became affordable for everyone instead of just the wealthy, they no longer wanted them.
So basically white ppl don’t season their food bc their ancestors thought seasoning was for poor ppl & brown ppl. Lol

Despite the bright spot coffee can be in our lives, it has a dark side — a sinister past that has spurred a troubling present. During centuries of global coffee production, a common theme has emerged: the oppression of people of color for profit. As Christine A. Jones, a professor of world languages and cultures at the University of Utah, put it, “I think of coffee as one of those luxury commodities that illustrates the deep, profound juxtapositions of slave trade; human labor to exploit the possibility of human luxury.”

I mean most European dishes use classic seasoning in all their cooking. Has been that way for thousands of years. Greek food is filled with mint, thyme, basil, etc. Spanish food all sorts of spices. French food provincial spices.
My guess is the leftist confuses spice with spicy.
The black friends that I have that jokingly throw this accusation out (just fucking around, not being jerks) also notably douse everything with so much paprika or franks / chalula / tobasco (all basically just cayenne) that it completely drowns any of the original flavor the food/recipe had.
I usually (also jokingly, out of love) remind them that they have fucked their taste buds up so much by bombarding them with too much of basically 2 spices, that I trust their sense of taste as much as I trust a man that just stared directly at the sun for an hour to walk across a busy intersection.
Most of the time, people are confusing 'seasoned' with 'annoyingly spicy'
What about deep frying?
Your stories always sound phony.

Skin color is the most important thing
Marxism is the most important thing. Skin color is just a tactic.
The whole European Age of Exploration and subsequent colonial empires came about because Europeans were looking for a blue water route around the Ottoman Empire for the spice and silk trades that had come through Byzantine Constantinople before its conquest. Which would mean it is also racist for Europeans to want to spice their food too, I suppose.
Sailboats are white supremacy.
Let’s just get it all out. Pretty much any technology beyond spears and drum circles is white supremacy.
And I assume therefore that once whitey is overthrown, righteous POC cultures will abandon all that evil technology and return to their pure indigenous ways.
"and return to their pure indigenous ways."
Which definitely didnt include mass enslavement, mutilation, and human sacrifice. Because we know they have always all been holistic, peaceful angels after all
It is nice how they use computers et al, developed by evil white folks, to tell us how bad our cultural appropriation is.
Google literally anything and white supremacy together.

Obviously this person was never introduced to French cuisine and its descendant, Creole cuisine.
Also not to facts or logic.
Is it possible that this could be the result of what are common spices today were in short supply in Europe prior to the age of exploration? No, it's got to be racism, not geography, climate etc. Additionally, has the author never heard of garlic? Name one Mediterranean culture that garlic isn't a staple of? Also, just as an added note, one of Charlemagne's edicts was that all villages were it was possibly had to produce enough salt for everyone, because salt was a basic survival tool. Additionally, due to the lack of spices, herbs made up, and continue to be important, in traditional European meals. Dill is extremely important in Northern Europe, especially Scandinavia (hell, they even flavor their local liquors with dill). Juniper is another.
I'll take "Yet another leftist take on history that bears no resemblance to history" for $1000 Alex.

It probably has to do with climate, actually, with hotter climates preferring spicier foods and vice-versa. Even in India, Himalayan food is known for being a significantly less spicy version of the cuisine, while the food of the far south can be deadly to the English and Dutch.
Of course, it could be that Himalayans are racist, too.
I think some of the extra spicy was also a way to keep gamey and almost spoiling meats tasting less foul. Why salt use was such a huge part of civilization. Curing and preserving.
Well, the further north you are in the Indian subcontinent, the more Indo-European ancestry you have, so, since we know racism is hereditary in Europeans, who also are largely of Indo-European ancestry, it follows that Northern India (and Pakistan) are hotbeds of racist activity.
We're going to mutilate your children and there is nothing you can do to stop us - that's how powerful we are.
’60 Minutes Australia’ is doing a segment on ‘theybies,’ children left to choose their own gender

There are some things in life that dont necessarily guarantee you have a rough time, but certainly send you in that direction. Naming your child a stripper name (diamond, sapphire, destiny etc) or hood name (Lavonquavious, Shaniqua). Single parent households. Allowing your kid to get a face tattoo. These sorts of things.
I would wager, having a parent(s) that is willing to buy into 'theybies' is in the same category. Poor kids...
When Australia turns back into a shit hole continent, can we resume banishing undesirables there?
Locking up criminals is bad.

According to the government’s figures from last year, El Salvador’s murder rate is on a par with that in the United States. But Salvadoreans are sacrificing democracy for relative peace
If your murder rate equals ours, it’s wrong to try to improve it.
I've been following that a little bit. Looks to me like the police are just rounding up anyone who looks like a gang member and then locking them up indefinitely without a trial.
Enough about January 6. What about El Salvador?
Don't go full retard.
Sarc is being an isolationist.
Damn, that was good.
Wait til thisi year's numbers come out. All the liberals will be scrambling to explain it away.

How many times has trump done this?
The far right is at war with democracy all over the world:
Netanyahu Has Made Israel a U.S. Adversary
....
In Europe, Netanyahu’s Israel has adopted a policy aimed at undermining the European Union and the liberal democratic order for which it stands. In fact, it has aligned itself not merely with some of Brussels’s staunchest adversaries—such as Hungary’s Viktor Orban, Poland’s Jarosław Kaczyński and Mateusz Morawiecki, and Italy’s Matteo Salvini, to name a few; it has openly embraced some of Europe’s most far-right parties and their populist leaders whose opposition to Brussels transcends E.U. politics and turns on an illiberal agenda with, astonishingly, neo-fascist and even neo-Nazi strains. A partial list includes the Freedom Party of Austria, founded by a former Nazi SS officer, and Germany’s extremist Alternative for Germany (AfD).

Not an answer.
Remember, turd, the ass-clown of the commentariat, lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a kiddie diddler, and a pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.
If anything he posts isn’t a lie, it’s totally accidental.
turd lies; it’s what he does. turd is a lying pile of lefty shit.
Answer his fucking question, Shrike. How many times has Trump done this?
Then answer my question. How is the Democrats attempts to indict Trump on anything and everything different from what Modi is doing.
Then answer if you actually knew that an Israeli judge can override parliamentary law, not based on the constitution, but his own feels, and that's what Netanyahu's party is trying to change.
You're such an ignorant clown.
Your defense of far-right authoritarians is no surprise.
To repeat, as you're too stupid to understand it the first time: "Answer his fucking question, Shrike. How many times has Trump done this?"
Two attempts. No success.
Got a citation for that, dipshit? Actual fucking links.

There was no defense, you were asked for a single example to back up your allegation, and instead you're dodging and playing games.
Answer the fucking question, Shrike.

Note that turd here avoids answering a question and drags a strawman in.
turd lies; it's what turd does.
Um, zero. Now, let's discuss the J6 defendants, Joe Biden, and the Democrats.
Your idiocy shouldn't shock me anymore. But it still does. 🙂
You were rooting for Trump to go to prison for one BS charge or another!
By your own standards you're an authoritarian strongman who wants to jail the opposition!
LOL
Insurrection is not a "bs" charge.
Again, the 9/11 hijackers and Jan 6 mob had the same motive - to overthrow US democracy.
They should be fought against with the same conviction.
Oh please. If the J6 mob really wanted to overthrow democracy they would have been armed with more than costumes and would have done more than spread poop on the walls. Also, it's a republic not a democracy.
Also, it’s a republic not a democracy.
Don't vote then.
(I fully realize you probably don't vote anyway since you don't shill for one of the two major parties)
Seriously dude? You don’t know the difference between a representative republic and a democracy?
And no, I don't vote. I just can't choose between Shit Sandwich and Giant Douche.
Don't quibble.
Democracy (from Ancient Greek: δημοκρατία, romanized: dēmokratía, dēmos 'people' and kratos 'rule'[1]) is a form of government in which the people have the authority to deliberate and decide legislation ("direct democracy"), or to choose governing officials to do so ("representative democracy")
A Constitutional Republic that elects representatives falls under the 'democracy' banner.
Of course there are subtle differences.
turd, the ass-clown of the commentariat, lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a kiddie diddler, A TDS-addled asshole and a pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.

The word “democracy” occurs in the Constitution and Declaration exactly zero times. Calling the country such is an insult to Jefferson and Madison.
Yeah, but there is a lot of "We the People" and "Consent of the Governed" in both.
Now we're quibbling.
turd, the ass-clown of the commentariat, lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a kiddie diddler, and a pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.

No, actually. We’re not. The Founders detested democracy, and for good reason. That’s why they intentionally put decision making in elected officials instead of direct elections.
And even then only the House was directly elected. The Senate was chosen by the states (the 17A was the end of the republic by the way), as well as the president through the EC.
But both are forms of a republic (from the latin res = thing, publica = the people). Most republics use some form of democracy to get the deciding done, but the two terms are not interchangeable.
They never spread poop on any walls. Chuck Schumer's aide claimed he saw footprints tracking poop in the bathroom, that's it.
Everything that the Democrats claimed about J6 was a lie.
But it's their lie, er, narrative, and therefore true according to doctrine.
"...Everything that the Democrats claimed about J6 was a lie."
As are all of turd's posts; turd lies.
You 7 months ago saying their intention was to overthrow democracy. Is that an insurrection or not?

Oh please, dipshit. One was a determined effort to demonstrate reach, and the other was a protest that had some riotous actors pushed and prodded on by feds.
turd lies; don't expect otherwise.
But it was OK because the summer riots were worse.
And where did anyone say that?
Do you pay any attention? That's the most common comeback against anyone who doesn't call the J6 people political prisoners.
In this thread, where did anyone say that? Where did I even say that? However, since you brought it up, the riots, yes, full-fledged riots and looting, were far worse. When you consider that the J6 people were inside the Capitol for mere hours versus the riot and looting in Chicago that went on for several days, which would you think was worse?
You can see in the thread I linked above he believes attacks against government are worse than 2 dozen murders, 2 billion in damage, etc. But he refuses to call it political. Despite 80% of J6 defendants not committing any violence or damage.
There's a pretty stupid question. Did you practice that?
I'm looking forward to the next time someone brings up the "The riots were worse!" defense for the J6 idiots so I can see you tell them they're stupid.
Oh, wait. You'd never do that.
Also I kind of hope that Trump supporters riot if/when he is indicted. Just so I can say they're no better than the people they hate.
Mostly so you can see those people locked up for political reasons again. That's your priority here.
An actual libertarian would note the abuse. Not you though.
2 years no bail for non violent protests. More time at sentencing for non violent acts than firebombing cop cars.
Yeap. Not political at all.
Disparate sentencing is political you statist retard. You keep defending this.
Youre no different than shrike except you want the punishment of an insurrection without calling it such.
Again, the 9/11 hijackers and Jan 6 mob had the same motive – to overthrow US democracy.
LOL
Again, the 9/11 hijackers and Jan 6 mob had the same motive – to overthrow US democracy.
Pretty sure that all the hard evidence indicates it was the FBI and Pelosi trying to overthrow US democracy that day.
"... Jan 6 mob had the same motive – to overthrow US democracy."
Yup, the statistically most armed, and most unhappy with the govt, decided on the day they were going to overthrow US democracy, they would all show up without their weapons, and then once they got in, take selfies, then leave.
Sounds exactly like all the violent revolutions in history I have ever heard
Even the FBI determined 'Insurrection' was not the right term for the riot.

"Insurrection is not a 'bs' charge."
Oh yeah? That's what you were talking about? You sure it wasn't a desire to imprison Trump because of something involving that aging pornstar you can't shut up about? Or some older financial crimes that you want him locked up for now because you're still pissed he humiliated your gal in 2016?
"Again, the 9/11 hijackers and Jan 6 mob had the same motive – to overthrow US democracy."
Not every bad thing is identical, idiot.
Again, the 9/11 hijackers and BernieBro baseball shooter had the same motive – to overthrow US democracy.
See how stupid that is?
And how were the 9 / 11 attacks meant to "overthrow US democracy"? Are you saying Osama thought a terrorist attack would remove Bush and install Gore?
9 / 11 was intended to punish the US for policies going back decades under both Democratic and Republican Presidents. Another motive might have been to drag the US into one or more overseas military commitments.
So not only did 1 / 6 and 9 / 11 have wildly different motives, the tactics involved were also different. 9 / 11 was about killing as many people as possible. Were the 1 / 6 losers trying to commit mass murder?
Christ, this is like pulling teeth. You have this childish worldview that tells you "9 / 11 was bad, 1 / 6 was bad, therefore 1 / 6 = 9 / 11."
The Jan 6 mob fully intended to try, convict, and execute Pence and Pelosi.
These people refuse to recognize our current government. So maybe they would have executed both.
Bullshit, Shrike. You have a cite for that, or are you just going to push The Narrative(TM)?
The unedited videos really looked like a mob intent on executions.
They planned on executing them both with dirty looks!
Oh, and then they were going to levitate the capitol! Hang 'em!
BTW, did I mention that, turd, the ass-clown of the commentariat, lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a kiddie diddler, and a pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.

While bringing zero weapons?
That's not true, by the way:
https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-were-there-armed-protesters-capitol-january-6-1715326
In an article for Newsweek, Nick Suplina and Justin Wagner of Everytown for Gun Safety said they had identified "12 individuals allegedly tied to the events of Jan. 6 who were arrested in Washington, D.C., and charged with firearms offenses."
A U.S. Capitol Police intelligence division report also found posts on now defunct blog thedonald.win in the lead-up to Jan. 6, which, the report said, contained "several comments [that] promote confronting members of Congress and carrying firearms during the protest."
I'm surprised he hasn't brought up 12/7 in the middle of this.
Shrike is on Tony's level of reasoning. Its all histrionics and hyperbole, fueled by TDS.
Best not to try and make sense of it
Best to mock the steaming pile of lefty shit.
murder is not a bs charge but sometimes people are charged with murder and it's bs.

Military families forced from their homes as asylum seekers look set to replace them

Military families living on an historic air base have been told they have to leave their homes, as the Home Office looks set to move asylum seekers onto the former RAF facility in a matter of days.
A source living on MDP Wethersfield told Express.co.uk the deputy head of establishment at the base has informed families that asylum seekers will be brought onto site next week - on April 1.

Questioning Meta executives about what actions could be taken on a service that people use specifically for private communications is a striking departure from other efforts.
In multiple emails, as early as March 2021, Rob Flaherty, the Biden White House’s Director of Digital Strategy, pressed Meta executives to tell him what interventions the company had taken on WhatsApp.
Flaherty wanted to know what they were doing to reduce harm on the messaging app. Seemingly dissatisfied with earlier explanations, on March 22, 2021, he wrote, “If you can’t see the message, I’m genuinely curious—how do you know what kinds of messages you’ve cut down on?”
Words and ideas are dangerous.
“If you can’t see the message, I’m genuinely curious—how do you know what kinds of messages you’ve cut down on?”
This is actually an excellent question, even though it's being asked by Adolf Hitler.
"Our AI CensorBot assesses that."
it is the biggest scandal of our time and the mainstream media has been running cover for it isntead of reporting on it.
At which point, I assume, it was deposited directly to the agent's bank account. Either that, or just added to tally of civil asset forfeiture, aka government sponsored theft.

SF got this way as a result of allowing tin-pot-dictator wannabes like Newsom and Breed to 'plan' our economy during a time when there was a flu going around. Now, they assume their ability to 'plan' their way out of the mess which they've made.
The obvious answers like, say 'quit paying bums to populate the city and poop on the sidewalks' and 'quit turning 4-lane streets into one lane with the rest reserved for empty buses and a few bicyclists' won't be heard. Not nearly woke enough, donch'a know?
"quit taxing the shit out of big businesses and driving them away with their 1000s of job"
"quit the onerous permit regime that makes it essentially impossible to open a small business"
Between us, we could use up the entire thread and perhaps accomplish something.
The city poohbahs will likely decide to raise the 'homeless budget' and tax the billionaires.
Quit promising to pay all people of a certain race $5 million by taxing every other race $600,000 a head. BTW, during the hearings, surprise surprise, activists were saying $5 million wasn't enough with one "preacher" saying where is the money, we want the money (paraphrased).
Target-rich area, no?
Didn't SF have plenty of problems before COVID? The problem is the that the electorate, overall, LIKES what is happening or cannot admit that poor decisions by the voters led to most of the issues.
yep. most sf residents are basically communists.
"...cannot admit that poor decisions by the voters led to most of the issues."
Pretty sure this is it; everyone 'means well', therefore it's got to be some right-wingers somewhere causing the problems.
Goddam kulaks!
Not unlike Chicago. There, the electorate would vote for Adolf Hitler if he sported a "D" after his name. Those folks are so trained (like dogs or seals) to vote Democrat no matter what.
Michigan State warns against using bigoted phrases like 'Christmas trees,' 'terrorist' or 'overweight'
"MSU released an inclusive language guide cautioning against use of certain common words and phrases, pointing to potential offensive connotations or origins.
Language referring to Christian holidays or the United States was listed under 'terms to avoid.'"
OK, I'll just go with "fat".
I'll use the original term, "Tannenbaum".
that's the most racist of all.
You know who else called it a Tannenbaum?
Otto Von Bismarck?
A large portion of humanists and enlightenment philosophers north of the Alps?
Hey, muffin top, lay off the egg nog or you'll explode like some rag head with a suicide vest.
"Hey did you hear that some fatty was planning a terrorist attack on Christmas Eve, the day of our lord's birth? What a scumbag piece of shit fatass loser."
"Language referring to Christian holidays or the United States was listed under ‘terms to avoid.'”
"Michigan State warns against using bigoted phrases like ‘Christmas trees,"
I have been told, ad nauseum, that the war on Christmas is just conservative victimhood, so this cant be real.
I'm not holding my breath for them to issue warnings about phrases that celebrate Passover, Hanukkah or Ramadan. Kind of like they never go after Islamic baker's for not making wedding cakes for same-sex marriages (and it's been documented this actually happens, in many of the same states that have gone after Christian baker's, wedding photographers, etc).

That right there is the problem. Senators should be telling, not asking. The administrative state mentality is taking over the entire government and forgetting that the power in the Republic flows from the People to the state, not the other way 'round.

"Annoying White Female Lefty"?
Affluent White Female Liberal
.
Also, what is up with the explosion of female teachers in inappropriate relationships with students (of both sexes)? I remember growing up the only inappropriate relationship I heard of involving teachers was two grade school teachers having an affair.
Also, what is up with the explosion of female teachers in inappropriate relationships with students (of both sexes)?
The first instance of it I can remember was Mary Kay Letourneau back in the 90's. While most people rightly condemned the affair, and she did go to prison for it, there were also at least some people who seemed to want to excuse it away and in some cases even celebrate it. At the very least she got her 15 minutes of fame for schtupping a 12 year old, and since so many people seem to just want to be famous maybe they're just following her example because they have no other talents that don't involve laying on their backs? Of course, if that's the case why don't they just do OnlyFans? They'll probably make more money than teaching. I don't know, your guess is as good as mine.
no science exists.
No, but everyone will be ritualistically shaved from head to toe. Also, all primary and secondary sexual characteristics will be removed, transforming all of humanity into a vast sea of chubby theys and thems.
Also, in the future everyone will wear non-descript Mao suits whose only distinguishing feature will be their color which will be determined based on the wearer's social credit score (SCG), with blue representing the highest category and red the lowest - aka "the deplorables." And the amount of Soylent Green and Chitin Protein rations will also be determined by SCG as well as the number of hours of mandatory re-education programming per day (higher SCG = higher rations and less compulsory re-education).
If you're wondering how re-production will be accomplished with everyone transformed into gender-less theys and thems, DNA will be harvested from the best and brightest of the "blue suits" and new humans will be grown in birthing pods to be raised from infancy to adulthood (which will legally be defined as age 30) by a "benevolent" AI overlord, StateGPT. All hail the StateGPT!
I'll stop there because I'm sure our various resident progtard trolls' dicks can only get so erect...
Also, maybe the disparity between sentencing of male offenders and females could also play a role. Oh and the assumption by the public that males want it and are largely driven exclusively by sexual desire (such as the old myth that men think of sex every six seconds).
Or that the silk road actually transported more spices than silk. And that the Venetians based almost their entire economy on protecting their monopoly on the spice trade (and went to war with anyone that threatened it).
Or bell peppers. Or tomatoes. Or potatoes. Or corn.
The list goes on and on.
And blamed the victims for "intolerance".
That was pretty much exactly his point - it's pretend wealth.
Well, sure--most of these tech investments are mostly vanity projects anyway. if you're already making a shit-ton of money from other investments, and you're getting sweetheart ZIRP deals from the Fed, you can afford to be superfluous with it, as long as the company finds a bigger sucker to buy them out so you can make enough from the buyout to pay the loan off.
SVB collapsing wasn't just the rates on the bond purchases going inverted, a lot of it boiled down to the fact that VC funding in Silicon Valley is mostly just a game of Liar's Poker, with startups hoping they can keep the lights on long enough until Google or Facebook buys them up.
I would add that the ratio of female to male teachers has grown exponentially in the last 40 years. Right now it stands at about an 81% to 19% female to male. More males, hetero males, shied away from teaching during that period as the accusations grew and the fear mongering that all males that chose to be around children had ill intentions ratcheted up.
Out of that ratio, these days, how many of the males are also openly gay now.
That would reduce the opportunity, at least for the young ladies, to be seduced and increase it for the young men, especially, also, given the maturity level of some of these 'older' teachers.
Don't overlook the fact that teaching is heavily dominated by wokie prog millenials. That cohort seems to be developmentally stunted to some extent, like they all got cognitively and emotionally frozen at 15 to 17 years old. One of their defining traits is the all-consuming need for validation and gratification from others ALL THE TIME. I can imagine a self-obsessed, emotionally under-developed millennial who's creeping up on middle age probably finds it very gratifying to have a 17 year old want to have sex with you.
Dude, I *just* ate...
Seth MacFarlane may be a progressive but he doesn't pull punches against his own. I admire him for that, it's so rare in Hollywood these days. Yeah, there's definitely a left bent to both Family Guy and The Orville, but they're still more balanced than say Star Trek Discovery.
Huh, I just noticed I accidentally abbreviated Social Credit Score SCG instead of SCS. I was probably sub-consciously thinking of ESG and typed a G by mistake. Oh well.
It's okay with a savory element like Ham or Proscuitto. I like it better than pizza with BBQ sauce and chicken.
Works either way.
And the fact that the modern media seems almost okay with inappropriate homosexual relationships. Wasn't a movie that was nominated for an Oscar (or some other self fellating award) about a teacher who fell in love with his underage student and started a relationship? I believe they described it as empowering.
When they burn it down accidentally during a protest, will Fiona also write an article about how this is our fault?
The Irish invented boiled meat. Culinary genius.
