Seems like every asshole prosecutor fancies herself a future Senator.

  2. R C Dean   14 years ago

President Dean would have accepted Ms. Treadway's resignation on his second day in office.

Let us know when you decide to run.

        RC gets my vote.

    2. EscapedWestOfTheBigMuddy   14 years ago

      Why wait?

Fear of the process being a little unseemly if rushed?

  3. I can feel   14 years ago

    ...the smugness through my monitor.

  4. rac   14 years ago

Well, you see, it's a slippery slope. Next, people will want to make decisions about their own bodies without government intervention. We cannot have that. Except abortion of course.

  5. Troy   14 years ago

Maybe she needs to get laid.

    1. Wind Rider   14 years ago

      I nominate STEVE SMITH.

  7. mick   14 years ago

If a legal defense fund could keep her through the grand jury process, malicious prosecution would be easy money here. There is obviously no probable cause for obstruction of justice and the prosecutor is clearly acting in a malicious manner.

A vintage Balko nut punch for the holiday season.

  9. Fist of Etiquette   14 years ago

During their sentencing, Federal District Court Monti Belot called Reynolds "stupid" and "deranged," and referred to the Pain Relief Network as a "Bozo the Clown outfit."

Is the word "Judge" missing there?

    1. Fist of Etiquette   14 years ago

I screwed up the tags. The first sentence is a quote from the Slate article.

    2. Numeromancer   14 years ago

More than the word "Judge" is missing here.

  10. Wind Rider   14 years ago

So, I was wondering what this harpy Treadway actually looked like, so I did a Google search and hit the images tab - and the most frequent picture on the returns page was. . .Jacob Sullum. Hmmm.

    1. BakedPenguin   14 years ago

I doubt her beard is as thick as Sullum's.

    2. cynical   14 years ago

Has anyone ever actually seen them in the same place at the same time?

  11. Tman   14 years ago

I wish I could figure out what Treadways motive is for going after Reynolds so hard. I get that Reynolds stepped on Treadways toes during the Schneider case, but it's a sloppy case based on an abundance of shitty evidence and hearsay. I guess it's easy to believe that Treadway is a bitter vindictive asshole who takes everything that doesn't go her way personally, but I have to believe there is something more because the prosecution of Reynolds has been ridiculously unjustified.

    1. wylie   14 years ago

      stepped on Treadways toes

Yeah, that's where you could stop your post Tman. Have you ever stepped on someones toes? Someone like that?

There's a reason that "i'm not trying to step on anyone's toes" is a phrase, and bitches like her are that reason.

      1. Tman   14 years ago

Yeah, I get that, but even still- this Treadway lady needs help. I just wonder if maybe there is more to the story that we're missing here.

  12. R C Dean   14 years ago

She doesn't need help. She needs to be fired.

    1. cynical   14 years ago

      And imprisoned.

  13. cynical   14 years ago

Hopefully publishing the article in Slate broadens the number of people aware of this injustice, so that there will be a smackdown on some of the more egregious parts. Freedom of speech is one of the few issues that tends to bring a lot of support out from both left and right.

  14. Holy shit!   14 years ago

Commenters at Slate is nothing but a bunch of "unhealthy food" banning and healthcare worshipping retards. What the fuck?
