Election 2016

Matt Welch on Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Martin O'Malley

|

On Saturday I appeared on MSNBC's long-form panel-discussion show Melissa Harris-Perry to talk mostly about the Democratic field (such as it is) in the 2016 presidential race. Here are two clips from that; there are three others you can find at this link.

  1. Nice tie.

  2. Matt,

Is your latest gig to be the official Alan colmes of the msnbc network? You know, the guy who makes dumb points (Demorats are so olde) and gets ignored by the rest of commentators. I say foxnews is your natural lair and your last show– where you and Kennedy trolled “independents” with boiler-plate conservative ideals was more of a fit– to be honest.

    1. Dreams are a great thing, but you know something? They take a lot of energy. But that’s OK. There’s a job waiting for you down the block from your house that doesn’t require a thought in your head or a hope in your heart. So come on down and work for the artificial flower factory. Why fight it? OK? Thank you.

    2. to be honest

      HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

      Sorry, sorry….

      HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    3. Hey everyone, lassie’s trying to tell us something… It’s Timmy, Timmy’s stuck in a well.

    4. “where you and Kennedy trolled “independents” with boiler-plate conservative ideals was more of a fit-”

      Libertarianism Is NOT Conservative ideals

I think you are confused, because neither are Progressivism. But everything that is Not Progressive is the same.

      1. “But everything that is Not Progressive is the same.”

That was poor phrasing. What I meant is Just because Libertarianism and Conservativism are both not Progressivism, does not mean that Libertarianism and Conservatism are identical.

      2. I consider myself a fellow traveller in that I nod my head when someone says that government should be limited. That said, if we are to have a police force around to protect the unoccupied 4th home of a billionaire from being taken over by squatters I think that said billionaire shouldn’t bitch too loudly about paying 1/3 of her salary to the government.

        1. Why does she have to give 1/3 of her income to policing when she likely paid enough in property tax alone to cover a new fleet of cruisers for the police department?

  3. THREE candidate!
    What a clown show!
Why do we need so many candidates when there are children starving?

  4. Transcripts? Some of us have have real jobs ya know.

    1. Yeah, this.

Or if not transcripts how about at least giving us the cliff notes summary

  5. As pathetic as the Dem field is they will still be favorites to win in 2016.

    Intrade will be missed.

    1. Let the strong wind of fish farming blow across the country!

    2. Lol

Yes because we aren’t at the peak of several different bubbles bursting.

The Housing and Bond markets look basically like the Brady’s house after Peter tried doing the laundry and there are very very slim odds that they last through the next year without bursting and god forbid the Fed actually ever being forced to raise interest rates at all, you’ll be looking at the Dow being cut in half if there is ever even a hint of that happening.

    3. Or you could support the one person in the entire field, Dem or Rep, that is actually trying to curtail some of the Boooosh started and Obama expanded programs.

Nah, you’ll just keep sucking that dem cock like the good little demfag you are.

      1. I thought the Dems were running on Team Vagina this year?

  6. the cliff notes summary

    Republikkkinz are teh STOOOOPID.

    1. It’s not cheating, it’s supplementing.

    1. ‘He couldn’t have fired that gun from the position he was in. There was no possible way of firing it and at the same time hitting something,’ McCarthy told NBC. ‘I kind of blame myself, because if I hadn’t called it might not have happened.’

      Why won’t it read learn?!?

    2. In his videotaped statement, Deputy Peraza told investigators that McBean ‘pulled the weapon up over his head and grabbed it and started to turn and point it at us.’
‘I felt like my life was threatened. I had that feeling like if I would not go home that day,’ said Peraza.

So the cops are now trained to say the “magic safe words”.
