This morning I appeared on Fox Business Network's Varney & Co., where I argued that the "innocent" explanation for the IRS scandal is potentially the most worrying one. I also tried to explain why maybe the government shouldn't have the ability to monitor every American's telecommunications:

The state shouldn’t have the ability to monitor any private sector telecommunications. Period. Ever. Especially if the reason advanced in support of such snooping is national security.
