Attn DC Reasonoids: Nick Gillespie Discusses Kevin Williamson's New Book at Cato Today (Free Lunch)
That headline above is a classic case of burying the lede.
In any case, I'm excited to be one of the discussants of Kevin Williamson's new book, The End is Near & It's Going to be Awesome!: How Going Broke Will Leave America Richer, Happier, & More Secure, at Washington's Cato Institute. Lunch follows.
If you're in the DC area, come on out (and RSVP details). If you can't make it, the show will stream live at Cato's website.

"Discussant" - I almost read that as "dessicant", which is a somewhat different thing. What difference, at this point, does it make?
Have fun. Flip off the entire government for me while you're in town, please. kthxbai
Free lunch? There ain't no such thing as a free lunch! What kind of libertarian are you?
What kind of libertarian are you?
It's Gillespie at Cato. Enjoying cocktails a free lunch while they debate compromising on mag capacity limits.
A-. Should invoke "beltway" next time.
Goes without saying
Cato is inside the Beltway.
You can ride the Orange Line there, I think.
IT sounds good, but I think Kevin is fooling himself if he actually thinks we're going to see an end. More likely the government will just move a few shells around and maybe destroy an economy or two to be able to remain top dog while we all get poorer.
"We" does not include K street.
Ask him if Joey was going to end up with Pacey or Dawson.
Yeah, I don't think so. More likely we'll be another North Korea as the goons continue to consolidate power And appropriate what tangible wwealthis left.
National Review has gotten so schlerotic... but Williamson is swimming against the tide.
With such killer campaign themes as "You're gonna love being broke!", it's a mystery how the libertarians struggle to get more than a few percent of the voters to support them.
We all know that the UK, France, Russia, Germany, etc. going broke didn't cause things to become worse.
