Brickbat: Take Pride in that Uniform

Former Princeton, West Virginia, police officer Christopher Winkler was in his uniform when he met a 17-year-old boy and tried to get him to perform oral sex on him to pay off a debt. Winkler pleaded guilty to bribery and faced up to 10 years in prison. But Judge William Sadler instead gave him a 10-year suspended sentence and ordered him to serve up to five years home confinement.

This is why minors can't make contracts. Sure, when you're young, you think a little hand job in a parking lot doesn't sound so bad up against the money for that new skateboard. But then, with interest, suddenly it's a blow job.
That he was in uniform was a positive thing. Judges and prosecutors are suckers for guys in uniform.
What's the average vig on a handy these days?
You mean people can't arrange this stuff on their own?
[Tap tap] Is this thing on? Suckers for guys in uniform? Hello?
giggling at desk...

Spooky.
It's Mazes and Monsters all over.
Five years homo confinement in Boys Town and he gets to keep his uniform. Sounds fair.
Sounds like a solid plan to me dude.

If you read an earlier story on the incident, it appears that Winkler didn't simply 'try' to get the minor to perform oral sex on him - he attempted to extort sex from him by threatening him with a felony arrest which "would prevent the juvenile from getting a job and ruin the rest of his life" and by threatening to report his mother to Child Endangerment Protective Services. Extortion seems a little worse then mere solicitation.
Oh, yeah, just in case you were wondering (even though I know you already knew this) Winkler is an ex-police officer by virtue of the fact that he resigned rather than because he got fired. He'll be back in uniform before you know it. Especially after he sues over the beating he took in the academy - the one that was thoroughly investigated and resulted in a finding of 'procedures were followed'.
Five years of home confinement? After about 6 months, I wouldn't have a home. Then what?
up to five years home confinement.
Emphasis added. No problemo.
Apparently you haven't hooked up with the sales bots or you'd be earning $539,715 in only 3 months working from home on the Internets.
Sounds leik a solid plan to me dude.
You little people and your plebeian concerns.
Kids suck at negotiating. Give him the bj, then extort the officer to get all of your traffic tickets handled for a while. Everybody comes out a winner.
Everybody comes
I saw what you did there.
Fucking pervert weirdo - nothing any (non) assault gun couldn't solve
As jerryskids said: procedures were followed
So, what - no sex offender registry?
