Democrats ponder a second stimulus.
We are only on the second one now? Guess the first one was not big enough.
A surprise attack in Afghanistan kills 10.
I think the total is eight now, per the radio this morning. I got it wrong on the blog over the weekend too.
That's good. Otherwise we might have to dust off the ol' neutron bomb.
I read it was eight Americans, two Afghans.
Then the Afghans need to step it up.
The 2012 summer games are still three years away and yet London's obligation has already quadrupled, to $15 billion....[B]efore they are done, the cost may reach $40 billion.
Blimey!
But remember you are un patriotic if you are happy Chicago avoided a similiar mess in 2016.
"Police arrest anarchists for unlawful tweeting."
Time to clean, lube, and re-zero the rifles.
I have a good epithet for Left Anarchists; I call them "Big-Government Anarchists".
did you notice one of the anarcho-communists was an urban planner? Hmmm, planning a city and controlling it's development sounds pretty statist to me. That reinforces my belief that anarcho-communists are terminally confused.
Do you suffer from "Low genital self-esteem?"
I neither hate vaginas nor suffer from low genital self-esteem. In fact, I threw my junk a parade just last week.
*warning - OT & Potential thread jack:
Click on SF's link and scroll down to learn the proper (i.e. PC) non-use of the adjectives"lame" and "pansy". Discuss.
"We have an undeniable problem in the city, state and the country with obesity"
With water, too. Quit wasting it with those damn fund-raising car washes.
From the Tweeters story:
?
What's more anarchistic than complete government control of everything?
To be fair, we have no idea what the context for those pictures was. For all we know the cops were referring to book covers.
Alternately, yes, these anarchists might a little shaky on the fundamentals of their philosophy.
In fact, I threw my junk a parade just last week.
Dude, me too! A bunch of Puerto Ricans showed up.
Who! Who will not wear the ribbon!
? Concessions in hand, Irish voters embrace the European Union's Lisbon Treaty.
Goddammit, Irish.
Democrats ponder a second stimulus.
Oh Allah! Please send your mighty asteroid and finish what the British in 1812 started. Inshallah!
Imchi!
HoneyBunny,
Yes, anarchists with religious icons. "Anarchist" is a word that lost all meaning about 125 years ago.
If they had a Proudhon pic they'd still be douches, but at least they'd be consistent douches.
They haven't even spent a quarter of the first March stimulus. I hope they pass it though. We need divided government, at the very least.
A bunch of Puerto Ricans showed up.
They always show up. Puerto Ricans love my junk. It even appears in a popular line of beer ads, even though they have not compensated my for my likeness rights.
If they had a Proudhon pic they'd still be douches, but at least they'd be consistent douches.
I suppose if someone raided my place today, they'd still find a stack of Max Lucado books from optimistic Christmases-past. That would confuse the shit out of 'em.
It even appears in a popular line of beer ads, even though they have not compensated my for my likeness rights.
I bet you never have to buy your own drinks in San Juan, though.
I always assumed the Cristo Redentor was (ahem) erected to celebrate SugarFree's junk.
My genitals feel so esteemed right now.

About Themselves
Xeones,
As the memory of Hit&Run;, I'll make sure they credit you when that becomes the official logo in a few years.
Guess who's crowing about the success of the bailout?
Die, GOP. Seriously.
Damn, Tulpa, my stomach was already upset.
Stop using my handle, evil twin! Gah. I hate that bastard more than I hate Warty's genitals.
That one fooled me too.
BTW, you were popular on the Zombie thread over the weekend.
Also, wtf is with Democrats trying to block Republican members of Congress going to Honduras because their position on the crisis there is not in sync with the administration's? Can you imagine the outcry that would have arisen if the GOP had done this when anti-war Dems wanted to visit Iraq in 2005?
Or if Reagan did it when the Dems were praising Danny Ortega in the same general neighborhood?
Or, well, this:
A surprise attack in Afghanistan kills 10.
FTR, I'm not surprised.
Nothing about this?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/new.....-past.html
(Too lazy to learn the new link code)
I heard something about that too. After 0900 is fine for "hey, look over there." Nice link.
The ultimate self-hating Jew.
There's a good chance that story is false:
http://www.politico.com/blogs/....._news.html
I thought about linking to it anyway, alongside a link to the response in Politico and a "caveat lector," but I figured if I was going to include an Iran story the inspection was more significant.
I was thinking that too, then dismissed the thought for the massive quantity of ironic/funny.
Police arrest anarchists for unlawful tweeting
What is this thing you call the 1st Amendment?
I'm no fan of anarchists or the G-20 protesters, but goddam, the constitution applies to them too.
The First amendment doesn't protect tweeting "FIRE!" in a crowded theater, so it doesn't protect this either.
Actually it would protect "omg fire, lol" so you may have a point.
It should. I always hated this rule. I am not a fucking stupid cow who is going to freak out just because someone says fire. I say it should be covered, but if you do yell fire and people are injured you could be civily liable.
The constitution does not protect vandals, which some portion of the G-20 numbnuts were. If I'm on the jury and the evidences shows beyond a reasonable doubt these guys were accessory to vandalism, I'd vote guilty.
As far as I can tell from the article, they were not arrested for aiding the vandals. They were arrested for using technology to usurp the govenment ability to usurp a protected action.
""Wallschlaeger and Madison wore headphones and microphones as they sat in front of computers they used to send Twitter messages to protesters in Pittsburgh to help them move about the city "and to inform the protesters and groups of the movements and actions of law enforcement," the state police complaint states.""
They were usurping police control.
If they were intending to help the vandals, then I'll agree with Warren, but if they were sending messages to everyone and the vandals were using their messages, then it's a little different. That might be a little more like arresting someone at the Rand McNally map company for showing a criminal an escape route because the criminal used their map.
? Schools in New York City crack down on bake sales.
Seems the ban is only in effect during school hours. That squares with my public school experience in the 70's and 80's.
Schools in New York City crack down on bake sales.
*sigh* I'm a member of what sadly turns out to be the most free generation of public school students (graduated HS in '73).
Fuck all of these assholes who'vo completely forgotten what school was like. Tell a high schooler today that your school had candy machines and smoking areas, students wore budweiser and reefer clothing, halter tops and hot pants and they look at you as if you had two heads.
SCREW THREADED COMMENTS! WHERE'S MY PREVIEW?
I graudated in '84 and it was pretty free. Rednecks wore pocket knives on their belts. In the parking lot, you's see pickups with guns in gunracks. With all the tight ass jeans thre was more camel toe than you could shake a stick at. I was in BB-gun competition and had to sotre my gun in my locker for after-school practice.
Democrats ponder a second stimulus.
Well, since the first one worked oput exactly as predicted, I say we trust 'em.
Afghanis aren't real people.
LOL ! THis new threaded comment format sucks monkey balls!

All the prosecution has to do is show that they were encouraging lawless behavior. Telling folks where the cops were busting heads at ain't gonna do it for me.

So who gets the royalties? If you say The Dead Kennedy's I will need another cup of coffee.

I've been away. For the love of God, somebody confirm that H&R did a "Frozen head of Ted Williams used for batting practice" post somewhere.
Whoa. When the spambots are critical of a format change, can the Singularity be very far behind?
CN,
Sadly, no. But only because we all know you're on the
"frozen heads of baseball players" beat and we didn't want to step on your toes.
I figure Carl Yastrzemski will have to have his head frozen now, just to fill left field on the all-time frozen-head team.
It's not popular with his party, but Senate Minority Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is saying that the Wall Street bailout was a success.
It was certainly a success from Wall Street's perspective. Billions of dollars of capital to play with, billions of dollars of losses magically disappear; what's not to like?
Did it "save" the banking system from collapse. Maybe. But was the price worth it?
I read it was eight Americans, two Afghans.
Which probably tells you all you need to know about how much the Afghans are pitching in to defeat the Taliban.
I used to go out with a Puerto Rican girl. She didn't so much make me feel good about my junk as make my junk feel good.
Sorry, but it had to be said.
Also, for Afghanistan, I have an obligatory semi-relevant metal link.
It's my apology to Warty for making fun of his crappy, crappy football team.
I used to go out with a Puerto Rican girl.
Too bad she was thinking of me the whole time.
Ummm...
Actually, the other two charges seem pretty bogus also, but who at just about any given moment anywhere isn't in possession of something that could be used in the commission of a crime?
I'm with Jsub. No respect for the modern flavor of Marxist "anarchists", but that news item is really troubling. I agree that the vandals at the scene ought to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, but to arrest people in another state for merely 'directing traffic' is beyond my comfort zone. Seems like whatever rationale behind these arrests could easily be used against any sort of anti-government protest organization and direction. What about friends keeping in touch during a protest? Some folks at home watching on TV, some on scene... is it now against the law for the homebodies to call their friends and warn them the cops are busting heads one block over, so you'd better avoid that area?
If you have nothing to hide, and you are innocent than why do you refuse to keep your head bowed and your gaze lowered?
Well, that would explain her night horrors, SF.
Hey, whats the matter man?
We're gonna come around at 12:00 with some Puerto Rican girls that are just dyin' to meet you. We're gonna bring a case of wine--Hey, let's go mess and fool around,
you know, like we used to.
I read it was eight Americans, two Afghans.
So, eight. Dead brown people don't count.
If you're going to count brown people, I think the number ends up being a lot more than ten.
Actually it would protect "omg fire, lol" so you may have a point.
But what about, "omg, fire, GTFO!"?
If I'm on the jury and the evidences shows beyond a reasonable doubt these guys were accessory to vandalism, I'd vote guilty.
Accessory to vandalism?
Accessory to vandalism?
*sighs, bangs head on desk*
If I'm on the jury and the evidences shows beyond a reasonable doubt these guys were accessory to vandalism, I'd vote guilty.
I'd vote not guilty, myself, because I think its a colossal waste of public resources, as well as, in this case, highly questionable under the 1A.
Bust the vandals, and I'll vote to convict. If all you've got is their friends who texted "OMG! The cops are at 12th and Lex!", don't waste my time.
Hey Democrats, you stupid retarded fetuses, how about cutting taxes?
Actually, the other two charges seem pretty bogus also, but who at just about any given moment anywhere isn't in possession of something that could be used in the commission of a crime?
The way the drug paraphernalia laws are written in Texas, any object which could possibly be used to contain drugs can be considered drug paraphernalia. So, basically anything.
