Is Nationwide Marijuana Legalization Just Around the Corner?
Erik Altieri of NORML sees a bright future for American pot.
HD DownloadIt's hard to be pessimistic about marijuana legalization these days. Recreational cannabis is legal in 10 states and decriminalized in another 14. Virtually all presidential candidates, including Trump, favor letting states decide the legal status of marijuana. Polls show a majority of Republicans even support legalization. And six proposals to move marijuana laws in a more or less libertarian direction are now making their way through Congress.
What do these policy proposals look like? How are states navigating the conflicts between state and federal law? And are there any obstacles left on the path to nationwide legalization?
Reason's Todd Krainin sat down with Erik Altieri, the executive director of NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, to talk about the building momentum toward nationwide legal pot.

As California goes, so will go most places. So we will see top down criminalization replaced by a hodge podge of local restriction and rent seeking.
Yes, it's just around the corner of the bread-and-circuses stadium.
End the war on our right to control our own bodies which was started by the democrat progressives Woodrow Wilson and FDR.
Seems excessive that of the few articles posted on Reason each day at least one or two are about weed. I mean ok libertarians are for legalization because do what you want with your own body and all that but if I wanted to read High Times I would.
Not my magazine so whatever. Maybe it generates clicks.
I just accept it. I'm for legalization of all drugs but have no interest in them and can't stand their advocates. It's one of the most widely understood (and perhaps most popular?) libertarian position. I just skip most of them because potheads and weed activists are annoying

I guess the weak minded peasantry needs it, so yes
President Trump and his companions are very excited about the legalization of marijuana in all states and this is a very gleeful news for the citizens. I love to read medical papers of USA. As a citizen, I am also in favor of the legalization of marijuana so thank to Mr. Trump for his support.
It would be the great blunder if the Trump government give the clean chit to Marijuana or make it legal to use. Visit ivoryresearch to get more info about essay writing services. I think these kind of toxic drugs can make people ill.
