The Two Faces of Ron DeSantis
Sometimes he calls for freedom, and sometimes he preaches something darker.

Recently, Gov. Ron DeSantis sat down with me for a one-hour interview.
I started by praising him for keeping Florida largely open during COVID-19.
"I just had to make the decision as a leader," says DeSantis. "Are you gonna worry about the daily news cycle? Worry about your personal popularity?… I did not know how it was going to work out politically. I was going to do what I thought was right."
That worked well for Floridians. "If you look at excess mortality, we were the lowest in the Sunbelt and [had] lower excess mortality than California and New York."
In addition, since the pandemic started, Florida gained more than 500,000 jobs. My state, New York, lost more than 200,000. Florida opened schools quickly. As a result, kids suffered less learning loss. Good for DeSantis.
DeSantis also banned mask mandates.
"Some local police departments were going to fine people…. We kneecap them with our clemency power…no penalties for wearing a mask or not. It's your choice."
"Your choice" is a great thing. But DeSantis' laws and executive orders often limit choice. Today no Florida business may require its customers wear masks or show proof of vaccination.
I push back. "If it's my business and I'm scared, why can't I?"
"You do have freedom to choose, but so do individuals," answers DeSantis. "In Florida, we've just consistently sided with the individual."
But people who own businesses or who want to be surrounded by masks are individuals, too.
Florida does give parents a choice when it comes to picking a school. In fact, thanks to DeSantis, Florida leads the nation in school choice, offering parents $8,000 scholarships they can take to a better school. So why can't parents choose a school with a mask mandate?
"Because it's irrational," replies DeSantis. "Hysteria took over evidence-based analysis…the policy shouldn't be based on fear."
No, it shouldn't be. But while mask mandates were often irrational, and possibly harmful to children, one-size-fits-all rules are harmful, too.
I change the topic to immigration.
Last summer, DeSantis flew 50 migrants to Martha's Vineyard—a stunt meant to expose the hypocrisy of places declaring themselves "sanctuary" jurisdictions.
"Liberal elites…don't ever face any of the consequences," complains DeSantis. "Towns in Texas are getting overrun."
Media called his stunt "cruel." A lawyer for migrants criticized DeSantis for not phoning "Martha's Vineyard so that even the most basic human needs arrangements could be made."
I read that to DeSantis. He replies, "Do you think these Texas border towns are having people call ahead?!"
"Most of those people that went to the vineyard," he adds, "were thankful to be in that area…. They were not treated well by [President Joe] Biden."
Today's favorite media "hate DeSantis" topic is his Parental Rights in Education law. Critics smear it by calling it the "Don't Say Gay" law.
The law bans "classroom instruction…on sexual orientation or gender identity."
"Transgender or probing some student's sexuality, that is not appropriate for the schools. We're going to leave that to parents to discuss."
But "it can come up," I say. How far does the ban go? "A gay teacher could say he's gay?"
"Our law doesn't affect that," DeSantis answers. Also, the decision to teach sex education is made at the district level.
Good.
I ask, "Doesn't school choice solve this? Parents who want kids taught about gender changes could have that."
Some private schools do teach that, says DeSantis. But "when you're talking about what the taxpayers are funding, you just have to make a choice."
For 44 minutes, DeSantis and I talk about: how America will go broke, whether he'd cut social security or raise retirement age, what departments he'd cut if he were president, the drug war, his opposition to former President Barack Obama's plan to send Americans to Syria, former President Donald Trump, and whether DeSantis is a "slob who eats pudding with his fingers."
I don't think his staff liked some of my questions. They cut our interview short, saying the governor had to go.
You can watch it all at JohnStossel.com
I like some things DeSantis says and does.
I also worry that he's an authoritarian.
In any case, he's definitely smarter and better than both Trump and Biden.

Yup. DeSantis favors school choice, but there are *limits* to the types of choices that he's willing to tolerate. Nobody needs a taxpayer-funded choice teaching about gender, even if the taxpayers in that district want it. *Their* choice is illegitimate, as decreed by DeSantis.
So he's in favor of school choice, but only within the rigged set of choices that he permits you to have.
You're right on this one, and DeSantis is wrong. Unless they are harming or molesting the children physically, private schools selected on a voucher system should be allowed to indoctrinate kids with your creepy sexual philosophies.

But what if they're teaching the kids about Bears?
Does the law actually ban this teaching to schools receiving voucher money? If so, that is wrong and should be corrected.
My understanding was that it was, in a manner I happen to agree with, roundabout and kinda gets to the heart of the fact that “school choice” is a stopgap/just kicking the can down the road.
It doesn’t ban private schools from teaching it, it conditionally revokes the certifications of private schools teaching bunk, effectively preventing them from receiving vouchers. Something public education has virtually always done.
I think we all agree the best idea is to dissolve public education entirely or *at least* to dissolve the DOE and return the issue back to (e.g.) letting New York issue taxpayer-funded vouchers to pro-trannie schools and letting Florida deny taxpayer-funded vouchers to pro-trannie schools.
We do not all agree. Most of America doesn't agree to dissolve public education.
If the state creates a big pot of cash from taxpayers and then says it can only go to schools, public or private, that toe the official political line of the ruling party, that's evil and definitely not "freedom."
Yes, and that is why we favor getting government out of the business of education. What you describe is the current norm.

Was it an executive order?
They keep advertising it as a 'Bill' so if that's what it was the taxpayers already made their choice. Maybe not the choice you wanted; but if it was a bill it was voted on by taxpayer representation.
Florida is gerrymandered, so while I agree that the majority have the right to shoot themselves in the foot, legislatively, it's hard to claim it's what the voters wanted. We don't know what the majority of Floridians want if the legislature is determined more by voter suppression tactics than fair election processes.
Florida isn't even in the Top 10 of gerrymandered states:

"DeSantis also banned mask mandates. no penalties for wearing a mask or not. It's your choice." But "no Florida business may require its customers wear masks or show proof of vaccination. If it's my business and I'm scared, why can't I?"
---Because individual choice is respected when it doesn't negatively affect other people. Mask wearing causes unpleasant sensations, not just hurt feelings.
"His Parental Rights in Education law. Critics smear it by calling it the "Don't Say Gay" law. How far does the ban go? "A gay teacher could say he's gay?" "Our law doesn't affect that," DeSantis answers.
---What's wrong with that?
Some private schools do teach [sex ed], says DeSantis. But "when you're talking about what the taxpayers are funding, you just have to make a choice."
---What's wrong with that? If you send your kid to public school because you can't afford private, you expect standard education - reading, writing, 'rithmetic. Oh, and history, science, biology (doesn't that include sex ed? I mean, just because they're not human doesn't mean it's not sex ed).
But “no Florida business may require its customers wear masks or show proof of vaccination.
So, if you own a business you are not allowed to run it the way you want to.
Apparently; You can't anyways since the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
It is BS; but it's the route the tyrannical Democrats have put his nation on. Frankly; It wouldn't matter if DeSantis over-stepped for Individual Liberty or not the FDA and CDC would make sure that business never really had any choices not blessed by Gov-Gods packing Gov-Guns. It's actually a State versus Federal battle that is using businesses as pawns. This nation is fed-up with leftard dictation.
Just bake the fucking cake and shut up.
What’s wrong with that? If you send your kid to public school…
It’s the state government’s prerogative but it stomps all over local school board control.

"You do have freedom to choose, but so do individuals," answers DeSantis. "In Florida, we've just consistently sided with the individual."
This is what bothers me about DeSantis. It's not at average Democrat-level, but there's a bit of doctrinaire conservative and an authoritarian impulse in him now and then. He's not as libertarian as Trump.
He's also more capable, more cunning, less pompous and less easily tricked than the Donald.
They'd be better together, with Donald as boss and DeSantis as his éminence grise. DeSantis wouldn't let Trump get tricked by the neocons and the GOPe constantly like last time, and Donny wouldn't let Ron get too carried away.
Trump wasn't a libertarian, he was a Covid tyrant, DeSantis was the opposite. Republicans will choose Trump because he's much worse. Biden is much more tyrannical than Robert Kennedy, so Democrats will choose Biden.
Well I'm probably not alone in thinking he was the most Libertarian President this nation has had in over a century. Probably why the 'gangster' crowd just keeps ditching on him over piddly playground BS.
Seriously? After his defense of broad eminent domain powers, of civil asset forfeiture, of "opening up" libel laws, you think Trump was libertarian? Then there was his stated desire to bar all Muslims from entering the United States. That one may not bother you, and he didn't actually attempt it, but it certainly wasn't libertarian either.
Now do anyone else.
DeSantis was the opposite
True, he was an anti-COVID-tyrant tyrant, dictating to business owners how they must run their business.
It has become an authoritarian pattern of behavior on his part. “I’m sticking up for everyone’s freedom by micromanaging and ordering everyone around.”
Sorry but you've accepted State enforced association in public accommodations for decades now and this is no different.
This is a really good point. Either one believes that the state can put service and association mandates on "public accommodations" (including privately owned businesses" or one doesn't believe it.
There is neither principle nor constitutionality involved in saying "Yes, the state can mandate that you have to serve everyone regardless of their race or sexual orientation and they can certainly forbid you from permitting smoking in their business, but they absolutely cannot mandate that you also must serve people who aren't wearing face panties."
You see it as authoritarian impulse, I see it as a misunderstanding libertarian one. Hugh Downs had a similar exchange with Stossel when Downs said keeping employers from imposing no-smoking mandates on employees off the job sounded like a libertarian view clashing with itself. It's a failure to understand freedom of contract as superseding the freedom of the moment.
Once again - he favors choice, but only if it's a choice that DeSantis approves of. He decrees that individuals who wish to choose a school with a mask mandate are "irrational" and therefore their choice should not be honored.
Private schools should be able to teach what they like and have policies they want. Public schools should not.
...and taxpayer funded private schools?
Isn't that what public school boards (mostly elected) are for? To set policy for the district? I say let them decide and stop higher-level pre-emption.
No. Parents should be the ones who make a voice in how the schools run. The school board should heed to their voice, not be in charge and do everything themselves.
Well so long as it’s Commie-Education (everyone pays) I’d figure everyone gets a Commie-Vote. One of the great blessing of communist societies. Everyone gets to pay and everyone gets to be dictated like the [WE] mob slave that they were tricked into being.
Sell your Individual souls to the [WE] foundation; because YOU don't own YOU, [WE] own you!
We don't allow private actors to abuse, molest, or otherwise* perpetrate significant, permanent harm upon children.
Mask mandates did, in fact, perpetrate significant harm on children, impairing their cognitive and social development at a critical age (Aside: I actually did an education certificate program in a blue state, which included developmental psychology. I did not go on to be a teacher, but I know what is in the heads of progressive educators, and it's actually much WORSE than the anti-indoctrination crowd knows - and that was 20+ years ago!).
Even the freaking corrupt WHO recommended against masks for children 11 and under.
(*Unless some quack doctor tells them they're trans in a whack-job blue state, and then apparently sterilization and mutilation is just fine and practically mandatory!)
Right. It is not a libertarian position, but if you concede that the government has a role in enforcing health standards, then the government absolutely has a place opining here.
Not even that far. Children cannot consent to certain things, and we do not allow parents to abuse or molest them. Mandatory face masks are vile, harmful child abuse.
The other problem is the government is ALREADY requiring children attend a school program.
Or just use the Nuremburg code. No mandatory medical interventions of any kind without informed consent, which includes coersion.
While I would prefer a free and open society the people currently running society are using corporations as tools of the state, and enforcing their oligopoly through the regulatory agencies. As the edicts are effectively government induced directives, the choice is "take it up the ass" or "fight back" and I will choose the latter.
no school ever, should have a mask mandate. it does nothing useful as masks never worked and never will. if individual students are so stupid that they want to wear a face diaper then they can, but no one should ever be forced to wear one.
How about the 17 demon faces of Joe Biden? How about Biden family influence peddling? How about Hunter Biden’s laptop? How about the corruption of the FBI? How about the corruption of the DOJ? How about the corruption of the IRS? How about the border problems? How about Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitic statements and rallies?
No, instead we get a daily dose of hate the Republicans. Seems the Democrats are as pure as the driven snow! (sarc)
The headline is a bit of a misrepresentation of the article. Stossel does push him, but overall it's just a bit of disagreement
KMW is the worst and does harm to this magazine.

Washington State puts into place “science” curriculum that emphasizes identity politics and far left propaganda.
https://www.nationalreview.com/2023/05/washington-states-new-climate-curriculum-attacks-rational-thinking/?utm_source=recirc-desktop&utm_medium=homepage&utm_campaign=river&utm_content=featured-content-trending&utm_term=second
“One sentence from Washington State’s new high-school curriculum on climate science betrays how bizarre the discussion about teaching science has become:
'For too long, science and science education have prioritized my rational thinking.'
Instead of prioritizing rational thinking, the purportedly scientific curriculum argues that “we must learn to pay attention to our own emotions and those of other people.”
The curriculum is part of an increasingly overt effort to replace the reasoned and objective scientific search for truth with emotion, political power, “community wisdom,” and “authentic” data that prioritize equity over mere “technical assertions.”
What we see in Washington State is political indoctrination masquerading as school curricula. It seeks to redefine science to restrict it to a certain political agenda. Without the objective authority of science acting as a touchstone, activists can push subjective or baseless political arguments without fear of credible contradiction.
It is manipulative and shameful. And right now, it’s policy in Washington State.”
Reminds me of "Fallen Angels" by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, and Michael Flynn. "Materialist science" was denigrated in university science departments, among other things.
reminds me of this....
Coming soon: Drink Brawndo! It's got electrolytes!

It's what plants crave.
It's a move that's been telegraphed for a while. Science worship can't be maintained, because science has a nasty habit of not agreeing with a movement's objectives. The only real solution for a movement is to redefine science into something that will agree with whatever fad is currently going through your group.
Remember the decolonize science and the shaman with lightning girl?
Like so many other words, we're watching them change the meaning of the word science. And right before our eyes.
Listen to the podcast new discourses by James Lindsay. He explains how all of this connects back to marxism and he has good insight on the education system and higher education system because he was a math professor and quit to expose how marxism is infiltrating all institutions of education. He has some great lectures on youtube too.
Do you have a link? Want to listen to this myself.
New Discourses podcast and/or YouTube channel. I’d link to something specific but he has years worth of shit and a few books on the general subject. Not sure where to begin. But he’s at his best when he’s reading the stuff they (wokesters and commies) wrote themselves.
Trump is Hitler, DeSantis is Literal Hitler. Got it.
The only gripe I could find is his proposal to continue the 'Feds' drug war. The rest sounded perfectly justifiable. He does want to put a lot of State Power behind conquering the Woke Agenda and although that's the "Two Faces" Stossell wants to address the Powers are already here. Enacted by UN-Constitutional Anti-Patriotic Democrats. Is it okay to just let the left run amok with all that new power all by itself out of "we're not going to touch it principle?" Maybe the only way to end this Power-mad BS is to put State power behind defeating it first before retracting that Nazi Power. Pretending that power doesn't exist and letting the left take it all in their agenda obviously isn't going well.
that IS the only way at this stage
At least I havent seen anyone propose a realistic scenario that doesnt include this - change my mind
I wish all interviews were like this. Actual questions and not just a litany of "so, when did you stop molesting children?" questions.
I'll disagree with Stossel in that store owners have not been permitted to do whatever they want for decades. If a store owner wants to only service one race, for example, that is quite verboten. The ship sailed.
Or exclude people who have AIDS, for that matter.
Bad Stossel! No talk bad about DeSantis! Bad! Bad Stossel!
I like Desantis less every day, but he still looks like the best possible option.
We know you’re still behind Joe.
You got me. I only said that to try to impress all the cool republican commenters.
Good interview. I hope more folks than just Stossel fans get to hear this. I have some fairly serious disagreements with some of his positions. But, to be honest, I have at least some disagreements with virtually everybody. I am used to that.
I agree a good interview. Covered a lot of territory and Stossel did push back when he felt necessary.
+
You're just happy because you dislike DeSantis, don't lie.
Sometimes he calls for freedom, and sometimes he preaches something darker.
Sign me up for the something darker. For some reason I've learned to distrust people who go nattering on about freedom.
"mmmp.... awk... Quit denying that right-progressives are... ulk... unk... dismissing classical liberal values... huk... uk... because they just want to... mmmp... ssslp... suck statist cock.... *gulp*" - Stephanie Slade
Why are you here then?
"Your choice" is a great thing. But DeSantis' laws and executive orders often limit choice. Today no Florida business may require its customers wear masks or show proof of vaccination.
Give me a break
Or maybe; It's an Anti-Measure to the lefty Regulatory capture businesses already are faced with. Because lets not pretend if businesses did have a State allowed choice the FDA, CDC, etc, etc, etc wouldn't swipe that up on every corner they could muster..
^THIS^
Stossel's "two faces" and "something darker" crap is contemptible.
I get it that Stossel thinks business owners should be able to make whatever rules they want for their businesses, but it is hardly "authoritarian" or "something dark" (OMG, no mask mandates, what's next, firing squads?) to realize that the mask mandates were BS and to put halt to the nonsense.
Maybe if the interview had gone on just 15 minutes longer Stossel could have found some position taken by DeSantis that is dark and spooky, hitlerian even. We will just have to wait. In the meantime, we can ignore the current state of affairs: the country going broke, inflation eating away at savings, wars and threats of wars, FBI/CIA involvement in elections, etc.
He is using and framing the questions as a lefty would push back from. I dont believe for a second that he subscribes to the rationale behind (most) of them.
It is good for the candidates to be faced with answering the attacks they WILL BE getting
You mean besides book bans, going after LGBT businesses, making discussion of LGBT or race a firing offence in public schools, etc? Cities are cancelling pride parades out of fear of State reprisals. That's a first amendment issue, straight up.
1) Declining to keep a book in the library is not a ban.
2) DeSantis has not gone after LGBT businesses, he has only revoked Disney’s special privileges, which shouldn’t have happened to begin with.
3) This is not remotely true. The bill only disallows teachers to promote a sexual ideology to children. I agree to that, BTW; no person should share an ideology to children that makes sexuality the central aspect of his/her life.
4) If cities want to cancel pride parades, then that’s their own choice. DeSantis didn’t force them to do it; it’s not DeSantis’ fault that the pride parade planners are cowards.
The 1st Amendment has not been threatened. Could you ever be more disingenuous? Repent of your lies and wickedness.
how dare you puncture 'the narrative'
Many of the blessings of having Commie-Education (i.e. “public schools”). Someone has to direct/be in charge of it. Just because it has a direction / defined purpose doesn’t mean it’s a 1st Amendment issue.
If anyone wants to start up (entirely by themselves) an entirely privately funded ‘cult’ of butt-sex pride ?education? camps I don’t suppose there’s anything illegal about that.
i.e. Claiming BS narrated 1st Amendment ground doesn't grant you entitlement to dictate any taxpayer funded organization you want to control.
Sorry, John but you're simply wrong about "choice" in wearing masks. You can't have it both ways: if the government has the authority to ban racial discrimination by "private" businesses, government also has the authority to ban requiring masks by those same "private" businesses. Whatever the libertarian ideal might be, in the real world that's what can happen.
Of course it can happen, but that doesn't mean it should. Though I'm really not going to get worked up about banning mask requirements because they are stupid and largely the product of government propaganda and misinformation.
Gov. DeSantis certainly has the skill set to be President and that put him a big step ahead of former President Trump. I look at his response to the hurricanes as an indication he can handle the job. I think his responses to the debt, obligations like Social Security and Immigration show that he really has no really new ideas and just retreads the old talking points. Stossel push back on these but got little in the way of new ideas. Same with war on drugs, still too much supply focus from DeSantis. As for his war on Woke, well woke is not government, but culture and the driver here is not government but the way young people see things. Disney is not pushing a gay agenda, but rather recognizes that its future customers have a different view of gay people that the old white men voting for DeSantis.
Trump did no worse than any of his predecessors - so apparently, you're full of it. Trump obviously has the skillset. He was president already for Pete's sake!
Now, is he better suited for the position than DeSantis? That's the real question.
On balance, he was actually doing BETTER than most of his recent predecessors were, at leadt until that fateful, infamous day in early 2020 when he unfathomably allowed himself to get suckered into destroying his own presidency (by his worst enemies no less) over the utterly ludicrous, preposterous notion that the Wuhan Boogie Woogie Flu might potentially be the new Smallpox or Black Plague.
You mean the disease he described as a hoax right before it killed over a million Americans? Many of them FOX aged voters in Red states?
The American people gave their opinion of Trump in November 2020. That opinion has not improved in the time since that election.
The FBI and CIA would like to have a word with you. As does The New York Post and their Hunter Biden story.
"The American people gave their opinion of Trump in November 2020."
They gave their opinion on Trump in opinion poll after opinion poll all through 2020. Biden led Trump. Most telling for me though was the 'parallel press conferences' they held in October - different events held in different venues, but at the same time. Against all expectations, Biden beat Trump at the ratings game. It was clear that the public were sick of Trump and sick of his covid, and would settle for Biden.
But he was mostly a failure. He failed to do much of anything to "Drain the swamp" or reduce the size or scope of government and allowed the disaster of government covid response to happen. Still way better than the alternative, but that isn't saying much.
"but that isn’t saying much."
It's saying a lot. You think a nation of more than 300 million can't offer an alternative better than an incompetent divisive blowhard like Trump?
Sometimes he calls for freedom, and sometimes he preaches something darker.
Well duh. “Freedom” is for “us”, while the other stuff is for “those people”, Perfectly normal across the spectrum, the disagreements being about who is “us” and who is “them”. Hypocritical, of course, but what else is new?

I quit working at shop and now I make 65-85 per/h. How? I'm working online! My work didn't exactly make me happy so I decided to take a chance on something new after 4 years it was so hard. Here’s what I do ..http://www.topearn7.com
"That worked well for Floridians. "If you look at excess mortality, we were the lowest in the Sunbelt and [had] lower excess mortality than California and New York."
Huh. What's this "excess mortality" stuff?
Anyway, per capita deaths from COVID in 2021 for Florida: 111.7 and for California: 99.9 and for New York: 83.9. For every 100,000 citizens, Florida killed 12 more than California and 27 more than New York. [cdc.gov]
If you are trying to measure the effectiveness of a health intervention, you have to look at all outcomes, not just the one thing you are freaking out about. The virus was going to kill who it was going to kill. The excess mortality from the government measures taken against it is all on those who promoted and enforced them. If DeSantis is correct in that statement, then Florida killed far fewer people than NY or CA.
" The virus was going to kill who it was going to kill. "
You'll never make it through medical school with that attitude.
"I like some things DeSantis says and does.
I also worry that he's an authoritarian."

Reason seems somewhat unbalanced in their political coverage. Almost makes you think the Reason writers are a bunch of leftist commies.
Point of order, the vaccine rollout was only to 'critical personnel' before the Trump administration concluded. I think they had just barely moved on to 'the vulnerable' around February. I (middle-aged, more or less) wasn't even eligible until April 2021.
Xiden's mandate was summer 2021.
We don't know if Trump would have gone with a mandate or not.
The article is fine. It's what I expect from Stossel. The editorial liberty taken with the headline is where I'd take issue. For a pretty tame and neutral article the headline puts a negative framing
And if you're going to point-of-order this shit. He paid for enough of at *least* 1.5 doses for every man, woman, and child in America up front *and* negotiated the withdrawal from Afghanistan for after his administration. He absolutely had full knowledge and ability to attempt a mandate and didn't.
Analogized or juxtaposed with the Daniel Perry trial, a demonstration of the anti-Republican microcosm of the BOAF SIDEZ narrative; when the Trump walks up to the car, carrying a gun, finger off the trigger, muzzle pointed in a less-than-safe direction and the Biden pulls the trigger, Trump was complicit. When Foster walks up to the car and Perry pulls the trigger, Perry murdered an innocent bystander.
Trump has repeatedly condemned vaccine mandates, while at the same time saying he trusts the vaccine and considers it a major achievement of his administration. He resisted tremendous pressure from the media and Democrats to order national lockdowns or mask mandates.
You can make a lot of criticisms about Trump, but saying he's a 'finger in the wind' politician isn't one of them.
Should we show him this?

Florida did very well in its COVID response. shawn_dude is being disingenuous once again.
"Florida did very well in its COVID response."
Only compared to other US states. Compared to nations that did covid well, Florida comes close to being the worst in the world, along with other US states which were just as abysmal.
I have missed his condemnation of vax mandates, but Trump was almost comically un-authoritarian compared to how the media and his detractors portrayed him and continue to do so, despite an ocean of evidence that it is the progressive left and globalist corporativists who inevitably govern as unhinged tyrants.
If only Trump had actually been a tyrant, maybe we could have avoided the shit show that is the repressive, evil Xiden regime and their corrupt kangaroo courts. Instead he meekly acquiesced to the woke bureaucracy which he failed to drain at all.
I’m not a fan of ANYONE who has declared yet, let me break it down:
R’s:
* Trump – got conned, didn’t drain anything
* DeSantis – turn-on-a-dime opportunist swamp puppet funded by the Bushies
* Halliburton Haley/Neocon Nikki Vivek the Soros plant (seems to perform worse in each successive appearance)
* Asa Hutchinson, the answer to a question nobody f***ing asked, nor would they ever need to
* Tim Scott, another bland establishment candidate with an identity politics bonus
D’s:
* The corrupt, senile puppet Xiden who has LITERALLY sold out America
* Marianne Williamson, a complete nutjob who still goes along with the entire Dem agenda but it’s also with healing crystals, or something
* RFK Jr, who has a few good points, mostly about state/corporate power merging, but also wants to ban guns and throw you in a cage for opposing tyrranical climate alarmists.
I do think RFK Jr is the most likely to TRULY at least be ABLE to see the scope of our structural problems, but I don’t think he will actually fully get there. The rest have ZERO hope of getting there.
Good luck ever getting a decent candidate, because no decent candidate will run for political office these days. The media is out to destroy decent people, and they’ll even work to crush extremely mediocre people who occasionally utter a decent idea or two.
