I did a quick google of "Al Sharpton Endorsement" and it turns out he played coy with both the Dem candidates for all of Feb & March.

They've been constantly, actively appealing to him since then and there's like 100 stories about his apparent intentional hesitation to do so.

I mean, I understand the purpose from his perspective. He's had both of them dancing and groveling for him all this week, and he's gotten feature articles written about his political clout in Vanity Fair, etc. He's making hay while the sun shines (*on black politics)

Ideally, one would use this debt to finance spending on something useful, like great transportation projects or high-quality preschool programs or removing toxic lead from American cities. But if you think there's nothing useful the government can or should spend money on, then it could at least do American households a favor by collecting less tax revenue.

Try thinking ahead a bit. You know what will happen when the climate change damages hit? They will have to be mitigated. With taxes. Every year more of them because the damages will only increase in severity.

So it's your choice:
1) invest a little now and then reap the benefits (energy from renewables is cheaper in the long run because you save on a lot of ancillaries: from financing "wars for oil" to having to combat terrorism (because of those "wars for oil") to a cleaner environment (less healthcare costs) to food security (again less costs))

OR

2) spend an ever increasing amount every year until you run out of money

As they say: An ounce of prevention...

The people who are for a changeover want to SAVE you money and KEEP you prosperous. That's what you don't get.

Of course, the whole thing about how "Taxes in the US wont change emissions in China/India/Brazil/Russia, etc" is conveniently ignored.
