Obama Says Legalizing Marijuana Would Be 'Progress,' but Why the Rush?
The president thinks repealing pot prohibition should be young Americans' lowest priority.

During a Vice News interview that was posted yesterday, Shane Smith apologetically asks President Obama about marijuana legalization, which he says was the most popular topic among readers who suggested questions. "For young people, I'm sorry, but if you legalize marijuana, it would be the biggest part of your legacy," Smith says. Unlike other occasions when he was confronted by this subject, Obama does not laugh, but he does take the opportunity to lecture "young people" about their priorities. "I understand this is important to you," he says, "but, you know, you should be thinking about climate change, the economy, jobs, war and peace. Maybe, way at the bottom, you should be thinking about marijuana."
As Conor Friedersdorf suggests at The Atlantic, there are sound reasons why people might disagree with the ordering Obama suggests, starting with the fact that marijuana prohibition is an obvious injustice with an obvious solution. Speaking as someone who is too old to qualify for Obama's age-based condescension, I think the chance that he and I will agree about marijuana legalization is much greater than the chance that we we will ever see eye to eye on the right approach to climate change, the government's proper role in promoting employment, or the justification for going to war.
Does Obama agree that marijuana should be legalized? As in his 2014 interview with The New Yorker's David Remnick, he is officially waiting to see how things go in states such as Colorado and Washington. To his credit, he has refrained from interfering with those experiments, and he allows that "if enough states end up decriminalizing, Congress may then reschedule marijuana" (by which I assume he means deschedule marijuana, because otherwise recreational use would remain illegal). He even describes that step—repealing the federal ban—as "progress."
Obama obviously is in no hurry, despite the fact that the government arrests 700,000 or so marijuana offenders each year and currently imprisons some 40,000 for daring to grow a plant or distribute its produce. "I always say to folks who support legalization or decriminalization that it's not a panacea," he says. In case you were wondering, legalization also is not a "silver bullet." But is it better than the alternative? Although Obama seems to think so, he is not willing to say the words.
The president is more comfortable criticizing "disproportionate prison sentences." He says "our criminal justice system" is "skewed towards cracking down on nonviolent drug offenders," which has "a terrible effect on many communities, particularly communities of color, rendering a lot of folks unemployable, because they [have] felony records." While "substance abuse…is a problem," Obama says, "locking someone up for 20 years is probably not the best strategy." He adds that he is "encouraged" that "you're starting to see not just liberal Democrats but also some very conservative Republicans recognize this doesn't make sense, including the libertarian wing of the Republican Party." But here, too, Obama does not seem to think there is an urgent need for action, as reflected in his lackadaisical approach to clemency.

How about you make the War on Drugs your lowest priority Mr President?
Isn't everything his lowest priority?
Well, everything except expanding his power, fucking with his enemies, and enriching himself. Yeah.
"you should be thinking about climate change, the economy, jobs, war and peace"
They did, but somehow it just made them want marijuana all the more.
Yeah, no kidding.
Economy, jobs, war, and peace can be surprisingly intertwined with marijuana.
That's what's funny. Obama recognized this in his own answer, but apparently didn't connect the dots himself:
"a terrible effect on many communities, particularly communities of color, rendering a lot of folks unemployable, because they [have] felony records."
So, he's contradicting himself. On one hand he's saying smoking pot freely is trivial compared to something like jobs, but on the other he's pointing out the repercussions of marijuana enforcement on young people (particularly those of color, can't miss an opportunity to say that like Obama) getting jobs because they enjoy a harmless activity.
So why the hell should we bother with sentencing reform on something if he admits that legalization is the preferable answer?
This is an issue that CAN be sold politically to the public. The recent trend at reversal is proving that. The real answer that Obama won't ever give is that he lacks the political spine to do it because he's still scared of being attacked on it. Politicians are all natural conservatives and it's surprising how slow they are to change even when the poll numbers do.
For further evidence, see Obama's lies and evasions on gay marriage.
That people who support these issues vote Democrat blindly doesn't help. The Republicans aren't viewed as viable options, but the Democrats get a free pass for basically not being so virulently opposed as the religion right. The Dems never have to worry about losing the vote from dumb 20 something year old hipsters, the blacks, or any group that is pro-marijuana legalization. They aren't going to gain votes by acting on it. So they don't really care.
I disagree. I think the Democratic Party may have assumed to own the cannabis vote because there was no where else to go. Both parties agreed to demagogue the issue, and the NIDA pumped out enough lies and propoganda to make Dr Goebbels blush.
With politicians being put on the spot, I think many the people stand to get real options about prohibition. The way the parties react to this issue stands to align the next generation of young voters. Both parties know that Prohibition of booze was passed due to 15% of voters being single issue for Prohibition, and the same can happen with legalized Cannabis.
Obama's comments that young voters should go slow reminds me of Dr King's letter from the Birmingham jail where he said "Wait" has almost always meant "Never."
He should be ashamed.
But it doesn't happen with cannabis on the legalizing side, because most users are satisfied enough with their current sources of supply that they're not prioritizing the issue. Rather, just as with booze, it's the prohibitionists who are the motivated minority.
However, what's settling the issue is that the other states don't want to see the states that legalized via voter initiative get all the biz & tax revenue.
It's not that politicians are natural conservatives. It's just that they know that on this as on many other issues, there can be wide support for one side, but the other side has more people who feel deeply enough about it to vote for a politician on that basis. That is, while a majority may be for legal pot, they're still a minority among the voters who'd give the issue priority over other matters in deciding who to vote for. So pot wins referenda but loses the elected office holders.
The sad fact is that Obama has proven himself incapable of achieving a positive change with respect to climate change, economy, jobs, war and peace. The climate does not care about Obama. The economy does, but it does not like him. Despite waves of immigrants and other new job market entrants, the number of full-time jobs has not reached levels prior to the 2008 recession, which is pretty dire when one considers that we're almost six years into "recovery". "War and peace"? Sure, he inherited a mess from GWB, but BHO has only made things worse, which I suppose is a pretty astonishing accomplishment if one looks forward to perma-war.
Obama could actually accomplish something on the WOD. But he's too busy on his failures, his golf game, and hobnobbing with the stars.
Maybe, way at the bottom, you should be thinking about marijuana.
Or, alternately, I should prioritize what I feel needs be, the thing that's sending so many pointlessly through the criminal justice machine.
Maybe, at the top, he should be a whole lot less condescending.
"it's not a panacea"
Perhaps he should give an example of something that *is* a panacea, including any of the policies he supports. He can't? So, then, he's talking out of his ass.
This just proves once again, what an arrogant, callous, self-righteous person he is.
I used to not hate this twit.
I'm now conviced he'a an unrepentant narcissist and revile the dude.
The sooner this asshole is gone the better. When the Hildebeest seems like a better option you are a fucking failure.
Yet team Red is unable to catch them in the act...perhaps team red is worried about their own indiscretions.
We are fucked if this is our choices...but I already knew that. I has a Sadz.
Rand will destroy the hildebeast. And yes, he's out best option. Who else?
Rand will destroy the hildebeast. And yes, he's out best option. Who else?
Damnit, isn't it too late for squirrels? Don't they have parents or something?
"To his credit, he has refrained from interfering with those experiments"
Really? Reason's own coverage would seem to indicate otherwise.
Why do you hate America children Obama black people?
The president thinks repealing pot prohibition should be young Americans' lowest priority.
Their highest priority should be to vote for Democrats. Duh.
Their highest priority should be to vote for Democrats enriching/empowering government, and its countless bureaucracies. Duh.
As a True Christian, I am against drugs. But what about gay agenda and preaching filthy GLBT propaganda unto minors in the US ? Does it kill youth ? Yes, it does, and, is far more lethal than pot. So anti-pot policy makes Obama a total hypocrite indeed.
What the fuck are you blabbering about?
Gozer the Traveller! He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldronaii, the Traveller came as a large and moving Torb! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex Supplicants they chose a new form for him--that of a Giant Sloar! Many Shubs and Zulls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day, I can tell you.
That makes more sense than what the schlub above me wrote.
You will perish in flames, you and all your kind! Gatekeeper!
Holy Shit, man!!! I haz been lookin' ALL OVER to git mah Vuldoranaii rectified, ah haz just NOT known WHERE in Blue Blazes to LOOK fer it!!! PLEASE steer me straight, here, young man... Electronics Engineering?!?! Hah! False promises, all of them!!! Rectify my diode-anode for me, my ass!!! Didn't work... So now... Git mah Vuldoranaii rectified... HOW?!??!
As a True Christian, fuck you.
The folks that have the TRADEMARK and PATENT on "True Christian" (so watch it, Buddy!) are the folks at LandOverBaptist? see http://www.landoverbaptist.com ? Before I became a Scienfoologist, I used to be this kind of Baptist? So it can't be all THAT bad!
Amen
That is some authentic fundamentalist gibberish. I'm especially glad these young gay men were here to hear it.
Rubber.
Glue
I'm betting he doesn't work for Mel Brooks, either!
I'm pretty sure this is a spam bot taking its first stab at sentience.
As an actual true Christian, fuck off.
Looks like some fuckhead from the 16th century somehow got a hold of Warty's timesuit. Go back to your own time and burn some more witches, cockfag.
Don't erin go me, bragh.
I didn't realize that the sqrls were xenophobes, I tried to respond to this comment with "Slainte!" but with the accent mark, and it told me I had to post in English.
This is the American internet, bragh.
As a 'true christian' do you eschew alcohol? How about aspirin? Anesthetics? All drugs.
~2.25/10
Sub-par...
"As a True Christian, I am against drugs.",,,,,That's funny,,,a true christian...well true christian did you know that Jesus, aka.True Christian, used cannabis, as in the sacred healing ointment???
What a lying, condescending piece of shit. Not that I'm surprised.
I'm sure that when Obama hears "young people" he picture lily-white Park Slope trustafarian Millennial hipsters who are Team Blue true believers, but there are also a few million young black people who would doubtless appreciate not being pulled over, ground up in the legal system, sent to prison for decades, or just beaten/shot to death in the streets for possession of a plant.
Yeah. But they are supposed to be engaged in climate change and other subjects of interests to middle class college students. I know I'd be primarily concerned with the climate of Year 2100 while I'm getting my ass pulled over and possibly arrested by some ex-jock with a badge who has a problem with me because I am a nonmember of Team Authoritah.
That's why you need to donate to team authoritah now and get your free get out of jail bumper sticker, now!
Ah, the last gasp of the prohibitionists. The Drug Warriors assumed that they would always be able to punch above their weight. Now that they have decisively lost the war of ideas, these sniveling weasels are trying to convince their opponents to be apathetic.
Ohhhhh interesting. Does smoking marijuana make one apathetic about legalizing marijuana? I'll have to bring this up at the next join subcommittee meeting.
The thing is if marijuana were legalized, Obama would lose some of his "cool". He, like many people, is driven by a desire to construct his self-image. A loss of "coolness" would be devastating to his ego.
Unfortunately they're only losing on the MJ front, and that the one that was hardest for them to win anyway considering it's a harmless plant. They have achieved total victory with most other drugs, however. Heroin or cocaine have about a snowball's chance in hell of being legalized for recreational use. Shit, even shrooms have no chance. And every new thing that might even remotely be used recreationally gets banned quickly.
They're not really Drug Warriors; they're Fun Warriors. They hate it when people enjoy themselves.
I wouldn't say prohibitionists have lost the war of ideas. They still have control of the basic premise, which is that dangerous activities should be prohibited. The idea they've lost is that marijuana is dangerous enough to be prohibited.
I also appreciated Shane Smith's obsequious deferral to Obama by letting him change the subject and not troubling him with any followup questions. It really fit with the spineless bootlicker tone of the interview.
Yeah, I found that more infuriating.
Shane's segments on Vice are always the worst, the other reporters/whatever you call them are way better. Smith has totally bought into global warming, for instance, and last week's Vice--which normally has two subjects per episode--was all about the Antarctic ice and nothing else. Sigh.
Yep, I just straight up deleted that one off the dvr without watching.
The Antarctic episode was pretty lame, too, in that it failed to explain that collapse of the Pine Island and Thwaite glaciers is pretty much inevitable due to the combination of Antarctic geography, volcanic activity, and the fact that the Earth has been coming out of an ice age for 20,000 years.
You gotta keep in mind that Vice is a Bill Maher production. It was pure propaganda with some stunning Antarctica footage, but, to its credit, it did not give the Michael Moore treatment to skeptics at the Vegas convention.
Silly proles, you should all be concerned with how the government can expand its control over your lives, not how it can shrink its control.
What's the rush? It's not like people are wasting away in cages at taxpayer expense.
Just give Obama a few years on the memoir-writing and six-figure lecture circuit, then it will be time to end the unjust War on Drugs.
When he no longer has the power to do anything, he'll come around. Just like all the former LEOs who come around...after they retire.
Let me be clear: you stupid motherfuckers thought I would change things and voted for me twice. You think I give a shit about what you actually want now?
Hell, yes! Why the rush? We can just toss those kids in the slammer; who cares?
I believe Playa Manhattan said something like that above.
How's the view back there, Sevo? Can you tell that I work out?
Yeah, why rush? It's just more people to add to the ranks of the once-incarcerated-and-forever-unemployable.
I blame Bush
Well.. it's about goddamned time!
How does someone so stupid manage to be condescending?
I don't like this at all. It doesn't show leadership of any sort.
By saying we should be more worried about the economy, jobs, war and peace, and climate change... he misses the point. The Drug War has an effect on all those things:
1. Legalization generates jobs and tax revenues, instead of the financial waste of fighting the Drug War.
2. The truly horrific amount of death taking place in Mexico right now is because we put the Mexican drug cartels in business and we keep them in business. (Simply by keeping drugs illegal, we hand the whole drug economy over to them.)
3. The Drug War has us dropping chemicals on large swaths of land, trying to destroy these hated coca and marijuana plants... and illegal growers set up in our national forests, with no regard to environmental consequences.
Mr. President: you had the chance here to show leadership and do something. Instead, you tell us to pin our "hopes" on a do-nothing Congress to eventually do something about this. Shame on you.
Re 1, the drug war is a jobs program. Marijuana is far and away the most commenly used illegal drug. If we legalize marijuana, the drug war (jobs program) disintegrates.
I don't want Obama leading. I certainly wouldn't turn my back to let him follow, so the remaining option is that he should get out of the way.
""but, you know, you should be thinking about climate change, the economy, jobs, war and peace. Maybe, way at the bottom, you should be thinking about marijuana.""
YES, BUT YOU SUCK TERRIBLY AT ALL THOSE OTHER THINGS
WE WANT WEED
I don't know how Gavin McInnes ever managed to not strangle shane smith with his own shoelaces, ghetto jail-house style.
It's a very perplexing question. Maybe he's just drunk all the time? McInnes, of course.
on a side note: I watched McInnes' "How To Be A Man", going in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I LOL'd more than once.
OT, but a D candidate...
There is someone quite certain that Shrill broke the law:

I say we boycotted Reason until they fixed commenting. WHO WAS WITH ME?
I'm with you this time. Reason interrupted a mullet for alcohol transaction. I will not let this stand.
I'm here. What you got?
I'm trying to go into this with no expectations, but in my mind, Florida Man of 2015 just HAS to have a mullet.
I already drive a truck and have lots of weapons and I recently starting growing my hair out. I usually keep it buzzed. In exchange for brown party liquor I could be persuaded to allow a mullet to form.
Sudden had an awesome mullet. Sadly, it was not permanent. He wore it well.
Brown party liquor? So I buy vodka and then do exactly what to it?
Dissolve pine cones into it
In other words, turn it into Gin?
Early Cuyler approves..
I was in with your mom. Is that close enough?
She says no.
No means yes. At least with your mom.
Yes means anal.
I boycotted while the comments were down.
The one time I have time to comment, and the commenting system dies
You had all that time to prepare, and this is the comment you come up with?
I...uhhh...but
*runs from room crying*
Marijuana prohibition has lots of secondary effects that make it a very important issue indeed for many, many people:
- Civil asset forfeiture - people losing property due to getting caught with small amounts of weed
- Black markets and the violence that goes with them
- Mandatory minimums - and the effect that incarceration has in ruining people's lives
Lots of people are far more directly impacted by the war on drugs than by the war on terror.
You say that as though the War on Drugs and the War on Terror are different things.
The War On Terror? is the pragmatic bureaucrats rescue boat, as they prepare to scuttle rapidly sinking War On Drugs? boat, which had served them so well for soooo long. The cold war boat is still in dry-dock for upgrades, but will be merged with the W.O.T boat for improved functionality..
Don't forget the violence caused by WOD enforcement.
Softest Pres on drugs in Decades, and yet still the readers and bloggers (clearly republicans, just dont want to admit it) of this magazine want to say how bad he is, what a bad job hes doing, etc.
Cant Just ONE of you realize the obvioussness: Most likely Obama will reschedule Marijuana, but probably not until his last day in office because if he did now republicans would throw a shit fit, and thats ALL they would talk about for the next 16 months and you all know it. Obama loves druggies, Obama hates kids, etc. (and this would happen, be honest) so lets face it, the guy cant win either way.
Being a "Libertarian" does not mean "Anti-Democrat", nor "Anti-Republican", but a fine mix or alteration or maybe even a whole new idea system.
Bashing Obama day in and day out just makes you Republicans who want to call yourselves Libertarians because it sounds cooler and hip.
*steps off soapbox*
LEAVE OBAMA ALONE! JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE!
Softest Pres on drugs in Decades...
HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!
You're a funny guy.
Technically he might be the 'softest' on drugs because his competition was so terrible. Sort of like how Jeffrey Dahmer wasn't quite as bad a serial killer as Elizabeth Bathory.
..."Most likely Obama will reschedule Marijuana, but probably not until his last day in office because if he did now republicans would throw a shit fit,"...
So the wimpy piece of crap is worried about what some Rethugs will say? THAT'S the reason he keeps throwing kids in jail?
Poor, poor Obo! They'll make fun of him!
Or trardbuger is a lying apologist.
You're a fucktard and let me explain why. Obama is a lame duck, therefore if he wanted to reschedule marijuana, it would have no impact on his future electoral chances. Furthermore, an actual majority wants legal weed, so if the Republicans threw a 16 month hissy fit (and LOL at that given that no politician has an attention span that lasts longer than 2 weeks) it would just make them look even more out of touch than they already are.
And regarding Big O being the softest president on drugs, how so? No federal legalization has occurred under his watch and the states that DID legalize weed were subjected to DEA raids of pot dispensaries in contravention of state law. Meanwhile, there's been no decline whatsoever in the people locked up for these crimes, except in the states that legalized weed of their own volition.
"And regarding Big O being the softest president on drugs, how so? "
He presented relatively no resistance to states legalizing marijuana, people have seen the sky not fall in those states, and legalization is closer than it has ever been to happening across the nation. It's a tallest midget thing for sure, but that's significant.
Make sure to see my reply to you yesterday.

Which reminds me. If I can see what you typed here, It means that I forgot to put you back in the filter.
Did you just break the rule you've been sadly running around trying to police and respond to me and then publicly remind yourself to stop speaking to me? Holy crud you're pathetic.
Whatever you say
I like you Bo... pull my finger.
Well stated Playa.
Just so everyone knows, this guy:
Was definitely Kizone Kaprow/Todd Gakk doing a driveby.
He's sadder than Bo. I also found this on his Google Plus page:
So, Kizone Kaprow is definitely a right-wing nutcase right? I always assumed he was a prog, but he's clearly the same person as Todd Gakk.
Hey! Im just a normal guy im not.. whoever those people are, nor am I an Obama fan, honestly (its the drones that scare me honestly).
Im trying to just, have a rational talk about the subject. And are you talking about my google plus page? I have never said nor do i beleive that.
SHeesh, one disagreement and now Im all this?
Yikes.
Most likely Obama will reschedule Marijuana, but probably not until his last day in office because if he did now republicans would throw a shit fit,
Right. Why didn't the Republican shit fits over immigration, Cuba, Keystone, and I forget what else stop him from from doing those things?
A Dr. Who handle? Oh, I hope you're real.
Thanks for the lesson in stupid, it sort of reinforces what I already knew....take a bow dolt
This fucking asshole is going to be in Cleveland tomorrow to give some bullshit speech. Wonder how bad he'll fuck up traffic?

Posted that in the AM links; the lefties need a fresh batch of not-too-bright voters.
It's more the paranoid security detail. They let women go into labor on the sidewalk rather than let them cross the street to the hospital.
But he's not royalty or anything.
Why the rush? Because after decriminalization a reassonable thing to do would be to pardon or commute the sentences of all people in jail for simple possession or consensual sale. If you're in favor of legalization, then why not get all of those people out of jail ASAP?
But then, Obama is kind of stingy with pardons, isn't he?
Okay El Presidente, you are a massive, firehose-sized douchenozzle of a hypocrite and here's the why: When it comes time to pass your hobby horse, your legacy legislation,Obamacare, critics in pointing out the obvious flaws of that legislation, noted that even in the best case scenario, Obamacare was not a panacea, that it could not cure all of the real or perceived woes of American medicine.
Obama, and his functionaries, and his fellow travelers somberly tut-tutted this criticism and said that even if Obamacare doesn't cure all of the ills of American medicine, it's a step in the so-called "reform process."
So I say to Barack Obama and all drug warriors who hypocritically bemoan mandatory minimum sentences, with respect to decriminalization: Take a step
Another thing you didn't point out is that they went to the mat for Obamacare. I mean they went all out. It was an insane push that barely, barely succeeded, but clearly he was willing to put that much effort and political capital to burnish his legacy in that way.
reassonable = reasonable, of course. Sorry.
Go fuck yourself. I certainly don't need to be advised about my priorities by a fucking politician. And a Chicago politician, at that.
And so many people love this guy!
I agree with Obama. The fact that the number one question Vice got is WHAT ABOUT POT says some very bad things about my generation - especially because they aren't talking about ending the drug war out of any sort of principle (and, in fact, aren't talking about ending the drug war at all), but just want to be able to smoke weed. Meanwhile, the same people want to outlaw guns, so they clearly don't give a shit about people rotting in prison for victimless crimes, they just don't want it to be a victimless crime they happen to partake in.
I think you're being a little pessimistic. Pot is at the forefront of people's minds for several reasons.
Firstly, we've never been this close to full legalization before. And I have to tell you, as someone who lives in a legal weed state, that even though weed was the lowest LEO priority before, the difference is still huge. It's actually a big psychological difference knowing that you just don't have to worry about getting caught with pot. So people are feeling how close this is and they're feeling the momentum, so it's going to be in their heads.
Secondly, the absurdity of pot being illegal kind of makes it a big deal for people. Pot prohibition is so fucking absurd to anyone who has smoked weed that it's one of those things where the idiocy and injustice of it makes it a big deal.
Yes. You have to realize that young people who are engaging in an otherwise normal social activity are constantly aware that one false step and all sorts of bad things can happen - from getting shot by a cop, to getting robbed by a cop, to getting put in prison for baking some hash brownies.
That is an ever present fear which I am sure has more effect on them personally than many of the items Obama lists.
I'll take freedom where I can get it, and I'm a non-smoker.
When weed is legalized, and the sky doesn't fall, it's going to make a very important impression on young people. I look forward to it.
My wife and I are taking foster kid classes, and I am a little shocked and saddened by the vehement anti-drug rhetoric that my classmates (Gen Xers and late Baby Boomers) repeat.
Critical thinking skills go out the window once drugs are mentioned. My classmates are able to recognize that there are non-drug using parents that are awful and neglectful. Yet, once drugs are involved it's ALWAYS the drugs fault for negligence and abuse. People do not seem to be able to make the connection that some parents are awful whether they are high or not.
Critical thinking skills go out the window once drugs are mentioned
Critical thinking skills go out the window once children are anywhere in the picture.
ARE YOU LOOKING AT MY KIDS FUCK YOU WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU LOOKING AT FUCK YOU SHITFUCK I'LL KILL YOU MORON DIPSHIT ASSHOLE FUCK
Juvenile Gamergate pyschopaths.
Lol, wut?
It is a sensitive topic in foster care. It is a very big reason why some of the kids are there in the first place. And maybe a lot of them shouldn't be, based upon what I've read here.
Yea. The classes have added a new level of distaste regarding midnight raids. Not only do the kids have to suffer the trauma of being taken from their parents (rightly or wrongly) due to their parents drug use, but they get the added treat of some screaming steroid addled assholes breaking down their doors and screaming like crazy.
" they aren't talking about ending the drug war out of any sort of principle (and, in fact, aren't talking about ending the drug war at all), but just want to be able to smoke weed."
I've pointed out a million times = progs don't give a wet fart (despite all their 'blacklivesmatter!'/Die-In drama) about reducing the prison population. They've had every oppportunity in the world to make it an issue during the obama admin, but they'd rather go to bat over some anti-economic bullshit like Keystone than even put a dent into drug sentencing. And when someone like Rand Paul steps up to it? They attack him for 'race pandering' ('they're OURS!!") and pretend that they held some kind of defacto moral high ground by default.
its fucking disgusting. and they'll still harp about 'white privilege' while never once taking their Urban democratic party leaders to task for using marijuana as a make-work overtime-generating program for cops.
This, Epi thinks legalzing pot is some sort of cure all. It's not. I smoked pot for years , don't do it anymore but that is beside the point.
Government is engulfing us on all levels in all encompassing manners on every level.
Pot prohibition is certainly stupid, but in the overall picture of stupid government it's not on my top 5 list.
Most (not all) locales don't have priorities that persecute people for pot use, tis a good thing. But in the overall search for freedom it's not a priority for me.
Except the war on drugs is at least part of the foundation for every other bullshit thing the government is doing to insert itself into our lives.
I have just read the most retarded thing in the universe.
I...I just. It needs to be seen to be believed.
Yeah, because no government has ever wholesale slaughtered a huge segment of their civilians after totally disarming them, never happened before. I'm totally convinced.
/derp
I am somehow consistently amazed by the overwhelming, oblivious projection that just comes off these types in waves. I think I'm still amazed because it's like a parody or a caricature, but so many of them are just like this. I feel like it didn't used to be this way. I don't remember encountering so many people who were so un-self-awaredly projecting. But of course, the internet increases one's exposure to so many things that that could be it. But I feel like it wasn't this absurd even 10 years ago.
My favorite part is when he starts fantasizing about gun owners getting murdered because he's so fucking peace-loving, you know?
But that's my point. He directly projects his own hatred of the other side, his own fantasies of violence, and his own lack of impulse control on his opponents. Every time you read one of these screeds by "progressives", it's basically like a mirror into their psyche. They tell you so much more about themselves when they're talking about the people they hate than they do about anything else. And they just. Don't. Realize it. They are completely oblivious to their own actual nature and how much they're actually showing it with this shit.
But that's my point. He directly projects his own hatred of the other side, his own fantasies of violence
So, you're saying he's Tony.
Except he appears to be real.
Is it retarded? Yes. Is it the most retarded? Sadly, no.
I wonder if he recoils in primal terror every time he sees a cop. Or maybe the sight of the little tin badge causes his pea brain to release soothing endorphins to counter the fear of semi-automatic boomsticks?
That's just poorly written drivel.
When he can't open a can of Spaghettios, then we'll talk.
The voice over in that video is gold. I love how he absolutely calls the fact that the guy with the beer must have been there to score, since he virtually never moves and expresses no emotion when everyone else is applauding.
Also, the Spaghettios video isn't even the funniest feminist art video. This one's even more ridiculous.
The entire David Attenborough style, talking about those idiots like they're wildlife, is pure genius.
Hahahahaha,

Obama Says Legalizing Marijuana Would Be 'Progress,' but Why the Rush?
Well, Mr. President, why don't you ask someone who's rotting away in prison because of our arcane and draconian drugs laws, or maybe think about the peoples lives that will continue to be ruined because of those same laws?
Oh, I forgot, it's because you're an arrogant and uncaring POS, how could have I forgot?
Yes, and note that the people rotting away in prison for drug crimes are disproportionately black.
Strange, isn't it?
... until you remember that Obama is half white and he was raised by the white half.
Being a narcissistic megalomaniacal sociopathic piece of shit knows no color or gender.
A narcissistic megalomanacial sociopathic black man who grew up in the hood would be a lot more inclined to legalize marijuana.
And yet he won't let us forget that everyone needs to be divided up by those things.
Obama should to adamantly against the drug war because of the horrible injustices it inflicts on African Americans, if for no other reason.
The fact that he's not is one of those telling things that makes it clear that he was raised by white people in an upper-middle-class household. I'm sure blacks have noticed this fact very clearly too.
You would think, but no.
Obama doesn't give a shit about blacks, whites, browns, yellows, greens, chinese pigeons, space aliens, or anyone else who doesn't donate money to his reelection or adoringly support his unworkable leftist policies.
But you already knew that.
Of course the moment he suggests any leaning towards helping black people specifically the John's of the world start baying about how he hates white people and such.
Sure, whatever you say, oh contrarian. Your posts now make no point or any sense whatsoever, you've reached the level of troll. Congratulations.
Makes no sense? You can't comprehend that Obama has been attacked regularly whenever he has tried to exhibit some particular affinity with the black community? The Trayvon thing, the Gates Jr. thing, Ferguson. He get's "Obama hates white people!"
He's race baiting. He doesn't give a fuck about blacks. He only uses them to incite division by race. Are you that stupid?
My point is that if he does anything to exhibit caring particularly about blacks he gets jumped on right away with the 'he hates whites and wants special treatment for blacks' screams.
And then when he doesn't do more he gets the 'yeah, he really doesn't care about black people at at all!' from others.
He doesn't care about anyone but himself and his political ambitions. Sure, he'll do cronyism with his favored cronies and he may care about his wife or children or his dog, but most of us, he sees himself as above us. He's a fucking disgusting creepy megalomaniac, it's too obvious for anyone who cares to look.
Prove to me that he cares about anyone serving a 20 year sentence in prison over some mandatory minimum drug charge?
What about this guy, does he care about this guy?
Man in prison for 900 days, charged with no crime
What the fuck about that? Tell me how he cares about this guy? Don't defend that piece of shit to me.
I'm certainly not arguing that he's caring or a good guy. I find him to be a rather bad guy and politician. I'm only noting that when it comes to 'racial politics' that guy is darned if he does, darned if he doesn't.
You did argue that he's caring just half an hour after you said the opposite:
Bo Cara Esq.|3.17.15 @ 8:32PM|#
My point is that if he does anything to exhibit caring particularly about blacks
half an hour before
Ladies and gentlemen....The Botard.
Yes
Personally, I don't mind at all when he speaks out on racial issues, it's one of the few moments where he starts to seem authentic.
The thing is his understanding only goes surface deep. He "gets it" that blacks get hassled by cops and looked at suspiciously by shopkeepers. But he doesn't get it that much of the violence in black communities and incarceration of black men is directly caused by the drug war. He hasn't lived THAT experience.
This is one of several things that irritates me about the narrative around Obama. I periodically here about his alleged connection to the 'black community' but there are probably about 13 black people in the United States who have lived a life in any way similar to Barack Obama's. Hell, there are about 40 white people who had similar life experiences.
Nothing says 'I understand the plight of poor urban American blacks' like spending your entire childhood in Hawaii and Indonesia. I understand American black people better than Obama does, since I grew up in the suburbs and was therefore at least within driving distance of some poor urban black communities.
Basically, Obama's skin color means he must have a mystical bond with people he shares nothing in common with - a claim which is somehow not racist, though no one has yet to explain how it's not racist.
I agree.
And I think a lot of black Americans see this too. Though, they're still going to vote for him, obviously.
I think Obama didn't even encounter what it meant to be black probably until he got to college.
Maybe it does give him a certain distance and a certain perspective, which is why he has sometimes been able to make insightful statements about race that transcend boundaries. But it also means it's not really as much of a lived experience for him as it is for most black people. And not understanding how bad the drug war is for blacks is a dead giveaway.
"Basically, Obama's skin color means he must have a mystical bond with people he shares nothing in common with - a claim which is somehow not racist, though no one has yet to explain how it's not racist."
The idea is that since people often treat people with that skin color in a similar way he's likely shared some of those experiences with them.
Yes yes, everybody is racist. Of course.
Not everybody but certainly not nobody (if you'll pardon the double negative. Wait a minute, this is a commentariat that is fine with people telling posters to kill themselves, what am I thinking).
Jesus, Bo.
"Not everybody but certainly not nobody "
I have to save this one for my "Bo's Most Retarded Moments" Scrapbook
Obama smoked dope while attending Columbia and ended up as POTUS which means he has so much in common with the poor black kid who got busted for possessing weed, ran afoul of a 3 strikes law and now sits behind bars for the rest of his life. Their life experiences are exactly the same.
I think the saying here is 'woosh.'
Yes, the ridiculous idea that Obama has had practically ANY of the same experiences that poor urban blacks have, and still managed to become President certainly has gone over your head.
Right, but the worst things black people experience aren't really having to deal with shopkeepers looking at them suspiciously and cops pulling them over more often. Yeah, the subtle racism is ubiquitous, but it's ultimately something that can be brushed off.
You can't really brush off getting shot or thrown in prison or having cops simply rob you of your possessions because they found a roach under your car seat.
There is nothing to 'bate to on this entire thread.
If HM was here I am sure he would accept your challenge

OT: I'm somewhat impressed by the single underlying principle behind progressive economics and class warfare... eradication of saving. They have literally made an entire political movement based on the idea of the grasshopper electing enough grasshopper friends to invade the ant mound and steal the ant's stash because it's not fair that the ant has a food store.
I don't know why it hasn't hit me before, but it's an absolutely brilliant, if not completely evil, plan.
I've actually been noticing the discouragement of savings for a while now. I don't know if it's a progressive thing, it think it's just a government thing. But everything the government seems to do is to discourage savings in those who don't have them, and steal from those that do, while discouraging saving in them too.
The interest rates are appallingly low. I mean, the highest-rate savings/money market accounts are laughable. Fucking six month CDs are laughable. IRAs and 401ks have absurdly low yearly maxes.
Combine that with "hey, take out fucktons of debt to go to school, we'll loan it to you" and "hey, take on fucktons of debt and buy a house, we'll tell the banks to loan it to you" and so on, and it's just like a machine to create debt and destroy savings and stability.
"I've actually been noticing the discouragement of savings for a while now."
In other breaking news, I've been noticing the sun rising in the East for a while now.
I find that hard to believe. You're not very perceptive.

No really, I'm an engineer and love working somewhere that produces a lot of useful electricity. I just took an interest to nuke power because, IMO, its got a lot of potential. And actually, my job at the plant I work at is almost purely chemical engineering. Real cool stuff. Cryogenic distillation of hydrogen isotopes (to remove tritium from water).
I also like that my work with cryogenics keeps my options open to move into the natural gas industry if I want to down the road. 😉

She's like a dream girl for the conservative juvenile Gamergate crowd for sure.
Wow Bo. You have really gone off the deep end.
A professional who makes public statements like "He actually knows what the fuck he's saying" is the kind of thing fawned over by the Gamergate youth club but in normal America it's kind of thought to be messed up.
In normal America, 70% of people don't have college degrees, so I thought you didn't care about the opinions of those ignorant yokels anyway, you narcissistic elitist dipshit.
Incidentally, in normal America, wandering around where you're not wanted and continuing to make a cock of yourself at every opportunity tends to be frowned upon. The fact that someone with your social skills seriously thinks you know anything about 'normal America' is so laughable I can hardly stand it.
Also, bringing up Gamergate every five minutes when no one else has talked about the subject in months (except when responding to you or talking about you) isn't going to make any of those feminist girls sleep with you, Bo. You're gonna have to white knight a little harder to really get on their radar.
I'm talking about how professionals in similar positions are seen when they talk like that. Do you know a lot of representatives of major organizations or politicians who talk publicly like that?
Heck, even Reason gets this and urges people to be civil even here, though of course the juvenile psychopaths here ignore it as one would expect.
BTW-it's that crass, abusive piling on thing that my Gamergate comment is referencing
"bringing up Gamergate every five minutes when no one else has talked about the subject in months"
We didnt really talk about it *then* either. There wasn't even a single thread about it. At best, 2 people brought it up a handful of times.
Is bo still using that as an 'insult'? jesus
Pearls clutched? CHECK!
He knows. That's the sad part.
Aren't you supposed to be sadly running around behind me urging the others not to comment? Or has that noble cause faltered much like other aspects of your life?
The only thing that's gone is his attempts to seem middle of the road and reasonable. He's finally burned the last remaining shreds of his reputation here and he's seething with hatred for us for treating him like the scum that he is, so he's finally gone 100% full troll. It's not like we haven't seen this before. Were you around for the last days of MNG? Exactly the same.
"The only thing that's gone is his attempts to seem middle of the road and reasonable. "
Holy projection Batman!
But he's not even any good at trolling. My life is a failure. Got that?
Oh my God, Bo, no one gives a shit about your feelings or opinions you fucking aspie weirdo.
You know how much of an annoying little toad you had to become to make me hate you as much as I do? I actually gave you the benefit of the doubt and didn't understand why you were so unpopular until you went out of your way to prove everyone else's opinion about you completely right.
"no one gives a shit about your feelings or opinions you fucking aspie weirdo."
Again, I can see why you swoon over that lady.
And yet he's still here. It's so bizarre.
Yes, you'd leave because what you want from the discussion board is an 'online community.' So people being nasty to you would break your already small heart I guess.
But you see, most people have their community in the actual, not virtual world, and they would post on a political discussion board to make their views known. So for those real people the Gamergate type abuse you trade in is certainly no reason to stop coming here or posting.
He can't let us win, can he? Then he wouldn't be the smartest. Or something.

"By the way I love how you guys managed to completely break Bo, It's a shame I haven't been posting as frequently and was unable to witness it."
I think you are entirely too optimistic. You presume that Bo has enough self-awareness to realize his hat has been handed to him.
I don't think so. I think we are dealing with a truly dysfunctional personality who simply does not accept any personal responsibility for being an asshole.
I predict he will return tomorrow, just as if nothing happened and pull the Bo-act as soon as anyone engages the insufferable twit."
Yes, but notice the change in his demeanor. Turning him into MNG Jr. could be considered breaking him, I suppose.
Yeah, he used to give some effort at not being an asshole for at least one post. Now it's asshole-city!
No harm done; people now won't mistake the play-nice with any sort of sincerity.
Again, if there's such a city you're lifetime mayor Sevo. Were you 'broken' a while back?
I like my assholes flaming.
Wait, I think that came out wrong.
....That's what she said
if it's flaming then, yes, it came out _very_ wrong.
I was wondering what would break first... Bo's mind or his body.
I was the same way as you, I didn't fully understand all the flack Bo got. But, in the last month, he has turned me against him too. He has truly become just a run of the mill troll.
Oh no, when you lose Smilin' Joe Fission!!!!
No, no. I'm right here.
Are you still Smiling? I'm not.
"I actually gave you the benefit of the doubt and didn't understand why you were so unpopular until you went out of your way to prove everyone else's opinion about you completely right."
I can't even remember how many times I've seen a post almost exactly like this. Always directed at Bo. And I agree.
It doesn't matter how many people say it. His china-shop-fragile ego cannot allow reality to penetrate, because if it did he'd actually have to face the fact that for some reason that all the rest of us can see, he is universally despised and a total douchebag. He'll retreat into accusations of cliques and community (as if he has a single friend in meatspace, ahahahahaha) in order to avoid facing up to why that is. He'll do anything--anything--including making up wild fantasies about everyone here being crypto-Republicans, etc, in order to save himself from actually confronting the truth.
He literally can't handle the truth. Jack Nicholson was right. And he will go to any twisted lengths necessary to deny it to himself.
Personally I find it quite amusing. Watching an asshole twist like this while not even realizing how pathetic and delusional he is is pretty funny. I like dark comedy.
The insularity around here is particularly interesting. If Episarch were to be himself on any website where he disagreed with the 'regulars' or just a political subset, you don't think he'd be getting exactly the same treatment? Yet my not taking the treatment here 'to heart' is supposed to be incredibly telling of something.
It's bad enough you guys use this place for your community, but does that community have to be lie the one in The Village?
He's completely lost his mind.
Lost?
There was a time it could produce a coherent thought. That time has apparently past.
Francisco d'Anconia|3.17.15 @ 9:18PM|#
"He's completely lost his mind."
He's decided that it's war and a good offense is the best choice.
Problem is, it's not war. It's an asshole being finally rejected by the last of the people who tolerated him.
I don't want to 'defeat' the twit; I just want threads that aren't shat-upon by him making up 'clever' arguments against any comment made. I'm tired of the constant expression of an ego hugely over-inflated for no reason.
Episiarch has a skill, as do most other commenters here - and generally in the world, of reading and understanding his audience. I'm pretty sure he'd tailor his approach with some respect for the feelings, interests and intellect of the people he's speaking to. We all do that in the real world, Bo.
When I hang out with old people, I generally don't curse or discuss things that might make them uncomfortable. I save the bad language and gross topics for my close friends.
Bo, I say this gently, you need to try to develop a bit of humility if you want to engage with others on friendly terms. You don't understand what you don't understand.
Now, me, I don't care, so......yeah.
Lady, I don't post here for online community. I post here to state my position on things. Why would I tailor to the audience (especially when the audience is full of juvenile psychopaths? I mean, their demeanor, language and behavior is exactly like the Gamergate crowd much discussed in the news a while back, and all that on a board that explicitly asks them to be civil. That's juvenile and psychopathic behavior.
Sweetie, your second sentence is an explanation for the hostility.
Stating your opinion on things is worth jack. Which is fine if you aren't expecting or desiring any but the most superficial response. Which is, again, fine because sometimes a throw away line or rant is perfectly cute.
But what you constant do, and why I typically don't respond to you, is seek affirmation through argumentation. It's incredibly annoying. You might want to rethink that.
No, Lady B, don't you see? He doesn't come here to be part of a community, he just comes here to talk to people.
He comes here to talk at people and then expects - demands really - that they approve of this chatter and attempts to brow beat them into submission if they don't.
The first part is fine - we all do it sometimes, but the second part is completely unacceptable.
That too. But it cracks me up that he thinks participating in a community is somehow not being part of it.
"attempts to brow beat them into submission"
If I didn't think you arguing in bad faith before...
Lady Bertrum|3.17.15 @ 9:42PM|#
"He comes here to talk at people and then expects - demands really - that they approve of this chatter and attempts to brow beat them into submission if they don't."
Yep. 'I'll make an ass of myself and get really pissed when people notice!'
It's not only obnoxious, it's insulting; the presumption (or hope) that no one here notices the sleight-of-tongue in the crafting of his sophistry.
Also, the world is full of more-or-less juvenile bullshit. Get used to it. The circular logic, the unnecessary argumentation, the inability to admit error, the need to always be right all point to your immaturity. Work on that.
Lady Bertrum, come on. You've never seen unnecessary argumentation or inability to admit error from, say, Sevo here? Please. You're showing off for your crowd here.
We all make mistakes. Some of us shrug our shoulders and move on. And learn a thing or two about a thing or two. You? not so much.
You're a poor sport, Bo, and that's why people dislike you.
You're arguing in bad faith here LB, it's pretty obvious. I've been here long enough to know you must know what I'm talking about. If you're really just bothered by people never admitting their wrong or such you'd find Episarch or Sevo or many others here to be the problem.
But, if you were actually playing to that crowd all along, then you'd look at this thread and say 'it's you that's being the problem!'
I mean, Episarch and Sevo both tend to respond to even the smallest disagreement by launching into a paragraph of psychopathic cursing fits. It doesn't matter who the person is disagreeing with them, it could be me, John, Tulpa, Eddie, or in Sevo's case anyone who thinks Jesus might have been an actual historical figure. For you to focus on me in the midst of that, for the reasons you're ostensibly giving, doesn't jibe.
However, if you were, to use an analogy, one of the regulars at the bar who sat around the loud, drunk psychopath acting like that, and thought their rages somewhat amusing, you'd be doing what you're doing when someone in the bar called them on it.
The intricacy of his delusion and denial is...amazing. I've never seen anything like this. Any concoction, any motivation necessary to fend off the slightest possibility of having to be self-reflective in any way. Everything--everything in the world is someone else's fault. Nothing can be attributed to him. Attributing anything to him means you're arguing in bad faith.
This is actually fascinating.
So this is the Double Deuce, we're drunk loudmouths, and he's Patrick Swayze? Do I have it right?
Shut up, Warty, I used to fuck guys like you in prison.
"This is actually fascinating."
Agreed. I'm near 70, been poor and rich, have managed to hit all but one of the continents and I have *never* seen a lack of self-awareness as Bo exhibits. Denial seems to be a really looooooooooong river.
It will be interesting to see how the degeneration progresses.
It was a good try, Lady B, but did you really expect to get more than a lame NU UH YOU ARE from this wet-behind-the-ears little prick?
Yeah. He doesn't get that he's individually pissed off on some level nearly everyone he's interacted with. And that he continues to do it.
His explanation is that we're all assholes (true, but beside the point) and he's right!!!!!
Ugh.
"His explanation is that we're all assholes (true, but beside the point) and he's right!!!!!"
Amazingly, it takes an asshole of Bo's assholery to somehow piss off every other asshole here.
And it takes an ignoramus of Bo's ignorance to ignore that.

Poor butt-hurt Bo. I think asshole imagines I talked everyone else into blowing him off! Paranoia, deep destroya!
Lady B, I admire what you're trying to do, but you should by now begin to realize you're dealing with absolute denial. He won't listen to what you say, no matter how politely and logically you put it, because he can't. He has invested so much psychic energy in his life convincing himself that everyone else is the problem that to give that up--to actually reflect on it--would bring his entire world and ego smashing down.
Good try, though. I thought for a bit you might have gotten through.
Lady B, not only do I admire what you're trying to do, I now have an internet crush. I hope you look good in yoga pants.

"affirmation through argumentation."
It's never occurred to you that I might just disagree with people here? When you disagree with juvenile psychopaths and egomaniacs they tend to, well, do what you see them doing right here. I'm not going to 'tailor' to that audience. I care a little about how libertarianism is seen and about what my host expects of me. And of course, that's not going to make one popular with a group of people that are more about having a good time being juvenile psychopaths than anything else. But, they don't own this board. Heck, they don't have much in common with its owners (note that not only does Reason explicitly ask them not to act like they do, but the Reason writers don't act like that, I'm betting they don't think that's the image they want to project).
When you disagree with juvenile psychopaths and egomaniacs
Bo, if you think the way people act around here is "psychopathic" you must not really have a whole lot of friends in real life. As for "juvenility" don't you think the creeping rapidly approaching Caesarism in this country might make people frustrated to where they might want to act a way to let off some steam?
You always bring up the disclaimer at the top of the comments. It reads, We invite comments and request that they be civil and on-topic..
Bolding mine. They request, not demand. And guess what: a ton of the comments are NOT civil, dumbass. The next line is. WE DO NOT MODERATE. Stop leaving that line off.
Yes, Slammer, some people might actually take the request of a host seriously even when they won't necessarily enforce it. Those people are called 'not psychopaths.'
You must make a charming house guest:
Host: Slammer, my wife and I request that you don't leave your towel on the bathroom floor.
Slammer: I notice you didn't DEMAND, just REQUEST! I'll fling that wherever I please then!
OH SHIT SLAMMER! YOU JUST GOT LAWYERED!!!
But not really.
Look at you, you're so desperate to have everyone join you. It's really quite sad.
"Bo, I say this gently, you need to try to develop a bit of humility if you want to engage with others on friendly terms."
L.B., many people have offered that sort of advice. Now, maybe Bo will one day learn, I don't know.
But I have greater faith in Obo repealing O-care, just to pick an example.
One thing Sevo is full of is humility!
Don't be pissy...
Nothing could prove my point more than you singling me out of this thread as being 'pissy.' Thanks.
You're being pissy again. 🙁
Now I know what an olive branch smells like when it's been pissed on. See? I did learn something from Bo after all!
^ This. Most people understand that different groups have different cultures and that what you say must be tailored accordingly.
This board has a very wild-west culture and people tend to lob around curse words and insults, oftentimes as jokes among friends. Strangely enough, I don't talk at job interviews the way I do on this board! Weird, huh?
I'll just leave this here
"Strangely enough, I don't talk at job interviews the way I do on this board! Weird, huh?"
And it's odds-on that Bo doesn't act like this in person. I don't know a group of people that didn't include someone who would have pounded the twit into the ground if he did. Or three or four who would have done so; Bo profits greatly by being a twit on the innertubze.
"Watching an asshole twist like this while not even realizing how pathetic and delusional he is is pretty funny."
And at the same time whining for attention. Whoever said it (it's been 'unattributed' several times), "trying the same thing and expecting a different result".
I can vouch for this. Irish stood up for Bo, to me nearly a year ago, after I gave up. There is the odd person who still will, usually the new folks who haven't interacted with him enough.
After they do, they can't help but come to the same conclusion...Bo is a complete asshole.
I agree, Irish is to blame.
They usually are.
Especially on St. Paddie's day!
St Paddy's day: A popular annual event where upstanding police officers, longshoremen, and local violence enthusiasts, and other pillars of the community would persuade drunken vagrants to return to their ports of origin...
Everything bad that happens to any of you is my fault.
I actually am Kizone Kaprow and I've made you puppets dance for a good long while.
Looks a little too much like a fella for my taste.
Her Twitter is pretty hilarious for how unfiltered it is. That said, she and her "virtual firm" reek of Beltway insider.
Actually looks like maybe a tranny; good on him! Trannies need jobs, too.
The left had better be way more afraid of Rand Paul than what they are. There are signs everywhere that even a lot of the leftist media will jump ship and support Paul over Hillary if that's the general race.
I'm very cautious about predicting these things too soon, but I'm already very confident that Rand will destroy Hillary in the general POTUS race if it's a month from now, in 2016 as it will be, or whenever.
Not sure about Walker's chances, but he's too hawkish to win in my opinion. People are sick of endless wars, and that's another strike against Hillary also.
Walker can appeal to the hawks without being overt enough about warmongering to not worry about that. He's got other problems than that.
HE HAS NO COLLAGE DEGREEZ!!
The problem is TEAM Red acolytes can't stand Rand Paul. Most recently, they howled when Rand pointed out that maybe laws that are facially neutral have a disparate impact on people of a certain skin tone. A bunch of TEAM Redders all but screamed that people of a certain skin tone are just predisposed to breaking the law. They lost their shit when Paul proposed a federal medical marijuana legalization bill. They lost their shit when Paul suggested that maybe the government forcing people to get vaccines is not for the best because...Tyranny, which TEAM Red is allegedly against.
TEAM Blue is afraid of Rand exposing them for the hypocrites they are. The problem is, TEAM Red has the exact same fear.
Rand Paul's fairly popular even with many hard core Team Red people. He needs to pick his battles wisely, and for the most part he's done that. It's quite the tightrope to walk, but he's shown himself to be pretty skilled.
The most concerning thing for him will be securing the funding to mount a serious run.
Rand is popular with those TEAM Redders who are one of the following A) Still sort of kind of principled B) Not Neocons C) Tired of being fed Beltway-approved John McCain/Mitt Romney-shaped TEAM Blue-lite turds.
Rand has also dodged a lot of the landmines Ron would have just walked right into.
There's not enough neocons outside of the punditry to give him trouble. And yes, he's far more skilled than his dad (whom I'm still a big fan of).
Obama will never lift a finger to legalize marijuana because he's a committed statist. He would no more diminish the power of government than the Irish would stop drinking.
Jesus fucking Mary and Joseph, you should worry about things you can't affect and things that aren't real before you worry about being sent to prison for a victimless crime against the state. Thank you Mr. President Lightbringer.
About "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win":
http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/M.....i#Disputed
Describing the stages of a winning strategy of nonviolent activism. There is no record of Gandhi saying this. A close variant of the quotation first appears in a 1918 US trade union address by Nicholas Klein:
And, my friends, in this story you have a history of this entire movement. First they ignore you. Then they ridicule you. And then they attack you and want to burn you. And then they build monuments to you. And that, is what is going to happen to the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.
So when are they anti-smoking laws being repealed? I've been thinking for a while that pot legalization is more due to the public believing that is not bad for you whereas they now think smoking is bad for you and hence all the laws.
I was in the lounge with some classmates after an exam and marijuana legalization in Alaska came up. My friend was agreeing that it was a good thing. Then somehow cigarettes came up, and he said something along the lines that cigarette taxes are not high enough. It's dangerous and needs to be discouraged.
*face palm*
Yeah it pretty simple: the Drug Warriors exaggerated the dangers of marijuana so it should be legalized while cigarette companies lied about how bad it was for you so it should be banned.
Is growing marijuana and/or smoking it bad for the environment? There's your chance Drug Warriors!
Instant Poll:
Have you ever seen an asshole start 7 simultaneous arguments about how he's not an asshole?
This is a first for me.
He's not an asshole, he's a cunt that spews shit.
I must have struck a nerve up there...The important thing is to get instant affirmation from your community Playa. You're not a sad guy who while married and with kids spends so much time with his 'online community,' the guy who suggested that is just a jerk. I mean, your online community will tell you so, especially if you pathetically ask them to like here.
I'm almost certain that Alex Rodriguez has done it before.
Well, just your mom.
You'll want to note that he responds to my post about how he is in complete and total denial with...utter denial. His denial is...amazing. It's fucking epic. It's the most obvious and simplistic ego-defense mechanism imaginable, and he doesn't even realize he's doing it.
That's...impressive.
7 simultaneous arguments amazing?
Oh, wait. Same guy.
Yes, my friend, but have you ever considered that maybe nuh uh you are? That teenage girl? Or perhaps that online clique and projection?
I think you might be onto something with your hypothesis that he's an apostate Mormon. "Crud". "Darned". He believes in fucking magic words, on top of everything else wrong with him.
It would explain the race obsession. His church isn't exactly black friendly.
Abra-ka-dabra?
"Have you ever seen an asshole start 7 simultaneous arguments about how he's not an asshole?"
Hardly worth counting, but how about X simultaneous arguments about how everyone else in the world is wrong and the asshole is right?!
I mean, sooner or later even the dumbest piece of shit should get the memo.
You would think so, but here we are.
He's here to state his positions to .... nobody. Why?
"He's here to state his positions to"
It's kind of a public forum, the commenters are not the only people who read H&R you know?
Bo Cara Esq.|3.17.15 @ 9:47PM|#
"It's kind of a public forum, the commenters are not the only people who read H&R you know?"
I'm guessing that Bo is a raging asshole to all sorts of people he has not addressed.
The only thing it states, from where I sit, are blank spaces in the thread.
Thanks Reasonable! I urge others to do the same and have a better life than dealing with such an utterly useless twat.

"Thanks Reasonable! I urge others to do the same and have a better life than dealing with such an utterly useless twat."
Ya know, as much as this twit and others drive me to distraction, I just refuse to technologically 'ignore' anyone.
It just seems like I'm sticking my fingers in my ears.
Seems like it. But there really is someone here who's doing exactly that.
Pl?ya Manhattan.|3.17.15 @ 10:11PM|#
"Seems like it. But there really is someone here who's doing exactly that."
Yeah, and he doesn't even know he is.
It just seems like I'm sticking my fingers in my ears.
It's no different than avoiding the raving lunatic bum on the street corner.
I rid myself of the little shit stain about 9 months ago. I haven't missed it, not even once.
You're no hero.
He won't admit that he used to post at Politico when I was there, years ago, under the exact same posting name, with the exact same attitude over Obama being attacked because of race, and the exact same level of contrarianism, so there's that piece of dishonesty. Right, Bo?
I have never posted at Politico Hyperion.
Sure, and you're not a troll either, got it.
Maybe Obama will save you in your efforts to stomp out free speech that you don't like. The FCC is on it.
"your efforts to stomp out free speech that you don't like."
What are you even talking about now?
Except he can't use a Koala bear as an avatar here cause we don't have em.
Good try at getting us all to admit we're racists here, Bo.
FAIL!
Koala bear? Yeah, I can see that
Yes, cute little koala bear for poor Bo Cara, who never stopped bitching at everyone as being a racist who didn't love Obama.
I asked him if he was the same guy when he first started posting here, but like now, he wouldn't own up to it.
Fuck, I don't care, I'll tell anyone what my posting name was there, and then Bo will know who I am, lol.
It's OK, I believe you.
See Bo? Reputation matters.
It's like this, Playa.
When Bo first started posting here, I recognized the posting name. And then I remembered. I have a damn good memory.
So I asked him and he denied, and I thought, well ok, it's not the same person.
But after his posting style has devolved into the EXACT same posting style, I don't have any doubt. Really, can someone tell me why Bo Cara Esq. is just such a popular posting style on political sites that I'm just being silly? I don't think so.
The guy is an angry leftist who wants to play the victim class, first of all, not a libertarian, don't let him fool anyone.
Anyway, he's let the mask slip now, so I don't really think I have to convince anyone.
Troll, identified, please ignore.
Ditto.
And like I said, reputation matters. You didn't need to explain. I took you at your word. You've earned it.

This from a guy who just got through having a circle jerk with Jackand Ace and Palin's Buttplug a few days ago.
"Priceless."
Gee, and they offer some way of contacting him!
I think I can avoid the temptation...

I just drank regular beer. It's Tuesday.
I'll start listening to Irish rebel music:
Is that you Peter King?
I featured him in a game of Spot the Not. Here it is again:
1. I think I'm one of the people who brought about peace in Ireland.
2. My dad was in the army and lost his right eye. But he saluted the flag until the day that he died.
3. If we have another 2,000 people killed, I want Nancy Pelosi and George Soros, John Conyers and Pat Leahy to go to the funeral and say, 'Your son was vaporized because we didn't want to dump some guy's head under water for 30 seconds.'
4. When things did go wrong for the IRA, when civilians were killed, I tried to put it in context, not defend it.
5. WikiLeaks presents a clear and present danger to the national security of the United States.
6. Every soldier, every cop who's faced with a decision to make, a life or death, does the best he or she can.
4. When things did go wrong for the IRA, when civilians were killed, I tried to put it in context, not defend it.
I didn't know that Peter King was a libertarian.
For those who wish to relive the glory:
http://reason.com/archives/201.....nt_5123618
So, there's really Irish rebel music? Does that mean they'll secede from the UK unlike those Scottish pussies?
Nah, the Welsh will be the first.
Does Michael Collins mean nothing to you?
No. Do the Irish have goats?
Is that a rectal disease?
I think it's some sheep like creature, only not as fluffy, and they are supposed to be able to eat anything, even rusty tin cans.
I know I'm getting old: saw a tent up next to a bar down the block from me. In front were a pack of clowns in like, green hipster outfits and shit and rather than think, "oh man that's where the party is!" I thought, "get a job."

So Bryan Cranston is doing a Dalton Trumbo biopic. I'm sure they'll mention the Blacklist but will they mention him being an FBI informer during WWII and how he supported Stalin and went from writing Johnny Got His Gun to writing films like Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo? Or how he made Crassus gay in Spartacus?
He also boasted of helping to nixing anti-communist and anti-totalitarian films like an adaption of 'Darkness at Noon'.
He was a communist asshole that had his civil liberties violated. That might well make for a compelling biopic on its own.
Did someone say "communist asshole"?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lester_Cole
In a just world, he'd have moved to the USSR and been liquidated by Stalin.
Nah, they'd just get the Potemkin Village treatment like Shirley Maclaine:
http://books.google.com/books/.....NyrWboYmkC
And with a critical thinker like MacLaine involved, they're not gonna be able to slide anything past, right?
I mean unless it has to do with the reincarnated prince of lower Volta who once was a frog...
I'm not sure the blacklist was improper.
As an owner or manager of a major business enterprise, I'd be a bit cautious of hiring someone whose stated goal is the theft of that enterprise from you.
There was a lot of hysteria about it, but that doesn't mean there was nothing to it all, as it's portrayed in the "respectable" mainstream/leftist view.
At the bad end of the scale, there were powerful and evil people in the USSR and satellites aggressing in every underhanded and deceptive way they could think of. At the good end, you had totally innocent, well-intentioned citizens who wanted to promote "world peace." And between them are all possible sorts and degrees of connections and influences, from BFFs to bitter enemies.
Unfortunately, it's hard to deal with any large and heterogeneous political group. That's why it's so hard for many people to see Islamic terrorism clearly. Some people will try to deny that the two ends of Islam have any real connection at all with one another. Others will say, OK but we should collectively decide to trim the stick, just a bit. At the other end, some people will see the connections as so solid that to them it's just one bad stick.
This is, of course, part of the strategy of communism and radical Islam. For tactical reasons they have to disguise themselves, use false fronts, infiltrate related organizations, gather as many innocent fellow travelers as possible, etc. One great advantage that gives you is that any attack on (or even a search for) a communist or radical Muslim agent or group will disrupt things among the innocent dupes surrounding them. They're simultaneously camouflage and reactive armor.
"This is, of course, part of the strategy of communism and radical Islam. For tactical reasons they have to disguise themselves, use false fronts, infiltrate related organizations, gather as many innocent fellow travelers as possible, etc."
I'll argue here.
Commies had a central director and that direction (in the '30s to the '60s) was absolute obedience to Moscow.
I do not see such a centralized director for Islam, nor do I see Islam as having the military power that Moscow did then or now.
Gonna call false equivalence.
True, Islam does not have the explicit central control, other than the fact that they are all working from the same book. And they have less military power. Otherwise it's a very similar process, though.
Funny,
while looking into the guy, i came across a Reason article from 15 years ago about how Hollywood has basically never ever done a single film where they actually cover the 'story of communism'. And its obviously not for lack of 'drama'.
The Trumbo link was that he'd apparently bragged to The Worker (socialist newspaper) that he'd helped prevent the film version of 'Darkness at Noon' from getting made for years....
Both remind me of Martin Amis' 'Koba the Dread', written as an open-letter to his dead father about how he finally understood - to his own horror - to what degree the 'intellectuals of the West' had spent decades apologizing for and covering up the tracks of Stalin. Its a great book on a number of levels, but mainly in how Amis excoriates the modern left for their blase, dismissive attitude towards the greatest crimes of the 20th century.
+1 Mission to Moscow

http://www.noblesoul.com/orc/texts/huac.html
It's funny how liberals today have no problem blacklisting actors and authors and such who have conservative views.
Apparently the whole bitching about the blacklist wasn't that blacklisting people for their political views was wrong, but simply because communism is a good thing
Ask a liberal today why being fired for being a vocal supporter of Stalin is a terrible violation of civil liberties, but being fired for making a donation to one side of a controversial proposition (that won a majority of the vote) is perfectly OK, 'cuz it's just "consequences of speech." The treatment of Brendan Eich tells you the left's true feelings about blacklists.
Is Dalton Trumbo a real person, or just a near-anagram of Donald Trump?
I went to St Patrick's day fest a Catholic church last Sunday. There was a music/history guy performing there. He said that when the potato was introduced, the population ballooned to 8 million from 3 million. This was because the potato allowed an Irishman to get married around 18 to 21 instead of 27 to 30.
Adjusting for inflation, most 19th century Irishmen made less than $100 a year. They had to save up for years to buy a spot on a ship to Ellis Island.
/dances a festive jig
when the potato was introduced, the population ballooned to 8 million from 3 million
And then the famine (thanks to those evil neoliberals in England) happened...
Ireland's population is currently 4.6 million.
John Belushi on the so-called luck of the Irish:
http://www.frequency.com/video.....hi/3483763
I've read that the term "the luck of the Irish" was supposed to be ironic in the first place, not sure how true that is.
Ask a potato farmer.
I really like the cut of this Bo guy's jib. He adds a lot to these threads and he seems like a really swell guy.
Girl. It's a girl pretending to be a guy.
As hysterical as it gets, it isn't doing a very good job.
Sorry ladies.
^ This hasn't been confirmed yet, correct? We don't know this for a fact.
No, merely theoretical. However, the sudden disappearance of a certain someone right after Hyperion pointed people in the right direction is...coincidental, is it not?
?
It'll be back to test the waters eventually. Then we can collect empirical data to further falsify the theory or not.
Well, I am 100% positive that I posted with someone with the posting name Bo Cara, on Politico, back in 2008-2009. Of course I cannot say for 100% positive that it is the same Bo Cara, but I can say for sure that it sure the hell sounds like the same person as of late. And I mean it sounds so familiar that if I have to wager, I have to say it's the same person.
Quacks like a duck, waddles...
Duck!
Huge asses, girls pretending to be guys, Syd Leathers...this is all too hot for me. I need my fainting couch.
Bo was supposed to be a guy back in the days when he and I both posted at politico also, but he/she also posed as someone from somewhere in central america or the caribbean ... I can't remember now, but we should ask him/her if he/she speaks Spanish or French Creole, because I believe that he/she either does or pretended to.
Look at the post below of Buttplug coming to the defense, it's beyond laughable.
Bo's libertarian purity is fraudulent too you say?
I think it's his identity as a leftist troll that is the question.
So he is a leftist masquerading as a libertarian?
I thought that was Buttplugs gig?
Let me rephrase: the person you accuse Bo of being was not a libertarian, is that right?
If so then that is disappointing. Just another Shriek...
Erm I didn't see that 11:33 when I posted 11:35
Ok, I think Bo is a lefty pretending to be sort of a libertarian.
That's not really the issue. Look upthread. I used to post with the person on another site, or so I believe it's true, and he denies it. But I am seriously doubting Bo as being an honest person, so I really don't believe what he's saying. And the sudden appearance of Shreek defending him is not making him more believable.
A few months ago Bo said that Lady Bertrum should go to RedState and along with his recent accusations of all of us being Rush Limbaugh lackies and juvenile psychopaths and Offended White People all reek of a leftist troll.
And yeah I'm not giving him the benefit of the doubt when he says that he (?) didn't post on politico.
Bo has friends here. Pay attention to when they show up.
I've thought Bo was a lefty troll about a month after I started lurking here. He has always started out reasonable but as his comments get questioned he falls into the prog speak you see from our resident trolls. In the last week I've seen all the people that have given him the benefit of the doubt or actually defended him turn on him. I think his recent love fests with Jackass Ace, PB and Tony have finally opened peoples eyes.
I think you've got him figured out, as do most of us now.
"Look at the post below of Buttplug coming to the defense"
And it'll be BOOOOSH in not long; turd knows no other.
How interesting.
Unless whoever's been running shreek is also running Bo. It would be insane, but we attract insane enemies here.

Libertarians identify more generally with certain members of the GOP than they do Democrats.
Those don't typically include the hardcore so-cons or war-hawks, but there's some overlap when we like a policy.
We don't tend to cheer for the infantile cultural causes c?l?bre that the left makes its hallmark achievements, such as gay marriage, the rubbish "war on women," or hiking the minimum wage ad nauseam.
There's genuine disagreement, as well there might be, on the topics of abortion and immigration. That's more than you can say about the left, which broaches none whatsoever.
Remind me why this means we're all Republican lapdogs? Or why I should regret not being more aligned with the schizophrenic priorities of the Dems?
It's a sock puppet. It doesn't have any points except instigating it's hated enemy, the libertarians, or maybe it's a libertarian sock puppet enjoying a laugh.
Either way, sock puppet, as is easily evident by the fact that there is not not any sentient being in the universe that stupid.
Is Tony a sockpuppet as well? I remember the time he talked about how he hates the poor. That sounded way too much like a parody of progs.
I don't really think that Tony is a sock puppet. He's just way too honest and especially when he's drunk, which is most days after 10am.

"It's a sock puppet"
I do not think turd is a sock, I think turd is a 'left-libertarian', meaning he's stupid enough to think that is a valid label.
In fact, he's a lefty who hopes to make money and excuse it to his lefty buds by claiming libertarian sympathies.
More importantly, he's 50-going-on-15 with daddy issues he's never reconciled; a pathetic example of someone needing some help from someone.
Not me.
Buttpig is freaking out. I schooled his little toady on being a lying troll and now he's shitting his pants like a little 2 year old.
It's almost like the all the times that I demolished Buttface in debates and he freaked out and shit his pants.
I would like to hear Obama tell someone in jail for a marijuana offense (who is highly interested in their escape from imprisonment) that they should be more interested in climate change.
It would just be funny when so direct. It's like he is pretending people aren't being thrown into cages over a victimless 'crime'. A "crime" he publicly says isn't wrong, and he has participated in many times himself.
His personal life is a giant vote of no confidence in the drug war, but that is only to signal to the masses what they want to hear.

"I would like to hear Obama tell someone in jail for a marijuana offense (who is highly interested in their escape from imprisonment) that they should be more interested in climate change."
And I would love to hear the response. And I'd love to hear how the responder voted (assuming s/he could as Obo is not interested in preventing their incarceration).
I thinks the dems should, as Ezra Klein has recently advocated for, run Al Gore for president.
Here is a guy (Gore), who recently proclaimed that the single most important, no, the only important issue in the world, is climate change.
Please, dems, nominate this charlatan and see what happens.
Ya'll, we can't rally for late nite links and never post after 11pm EST. You fucking weenies!
For a bunch of hedonist vulgarian libertines Reasonoids do have a early bedtime.
Used to be, left coasters and canucks used to hang around here after midnight, but I guess all of the libertarians are too old to stay up this late.
I'm WFH tomorrow and still sipping some Russian vodka, so fuck it.
Hey, I'm here. And I've been over half a century old for 8 hours and 35 minutes.
Whipper-snapper! Get off my ..... rock garden!
Snapper! you're still wet behind them ears! Why, back in my days...
Well, I guess I should be nice to you snappers that are an entire 4 years younger than me. I mean, you were probably one of us foolish ancients that actually believed that we were going to have colonies on Mars by 1980 and that the communists were going to lose and not actually take over the USA. Wow, we were starry eyed young fools, eh?
I'm here you goddammed shit-eater!
Hey now, that's not nice, you!
Every single Prohibitionist is a willing servant of tyranny and hate, having but one sole purpose - to make the rest of us suffer their putrid legacy of incalculable waste and destruction. Hand in hand with a Corporate controlled, propaganda-spewing mass-media machine, they continually connive to ensure that the inevitable consequences of their 'not fit for purpose' policy (the vast increase in corruption, mayhem, economic and moral decay) are all attributed to the substances themselves rather than the actual obvious and historically proven cause: the very prohibition of these substances.
Our species is experiencing a massive evolutionary boom. The younger you are, the more prospects you have in living your life with the availability of education, general information and worldwide communication. This is largely due to the internet and the advancements of devices used to access it. Young people are growing up and figuring things out for themselves without holding onto any bias or warped perception their individual culture has. This is partly due to the fact that more diverse cultures are being experienced by any one given individual in any one given place. People are integrating positive things into their lives without letting conservatism or religion limit them. Conservatism after all is essentially the idea of holding onto something in order to maintain it and stop a change occurring to it. This idea in itself goes against the very nature of our existence. Everything - chemically, physically, biologically - changes in every way and on every level, from the smallest molecule to the vastness of our universe, from humanity as a whole to our individual societies. It is a given that each generation will be more progressive than the last and it is vital that young people are listened to when taking any of these issues into consideration.
Not only is it na?ve to say that young people are the only ones who care about these particular drug issues but Obama makes it sound like they want marijuana to be legal so they can go home and get high. The truth is the current laws don't stop anyone from obtaining any drug or using any drug. The vast majority of drug reform advocates would obviously agree that the issues Obama outlined such as war and peace are obviously vastly more important than marijuana in terms of priority. The reason he is berated so much about these issues are twofold.
1: If Obama could go home tonight and sign a bill that would solve the problems of climate change, jobs, the economy and/or war and peace, I'm sure he would do it in a heartbeat and be hailed a hero for it. Sadly, these problems aren't so simply solved as of yet. Before these problems can be fully addressed they require a lot of time and effort to be put into the developments of various fields, including science and technology. The solution to the problem we have in regards to drugs is massively different. If Obama wanted to he could genuinely go home tonight and sign a bill that would create an entire basis for rapidly fixing the issue at hand. It would be almost instantaneous in how fast we would begin benefiting from such an action.
2: The decriminalization, reform and regulation of drugs would incinerate the vast majority of organized crime's profits globally and would result in less prospects in crime and ultimately, in less crime. This means saving an incomprehensible amount of money in fighting crime and also means taking one of America's most profitable businesses out of the hands of criminals and into the hands of responsible tax-paying citizens. So with safer streets, more police time and more money to spend, there would be a massive benefit for the economy, jobs would be created, a war on drugs would end and give us the means for taking one more step towards peace and ultimately leave us with the time, energy and resources to battle more pressing issues such as climate change.
It is simply not the case that 'young people' want marijuana legalization but neglect more important issues such as those Obama outlined. People of all ages want drugs decriminalized, reformed and regulated so that those same issues can be dealt with more effectively and within a shorter period of time. It's sad to think that either I'm an idiot, I'm being more logical than one of the most powerful men in the world or that one of the most powerful men in the world doesn't care that he is completely bypassing an obvious and massive problem. I nearly hope I'm just an idiot.
How the fuck did this turn into a 500 comment thread?
You know how.
Because of a problem?
Obama thinks that young people should be more worried about climate-change than ending cannabis prohibition. Mr Obama, how many inmates are locked away in American prisons for possession or the trafficking of carbon dioxide?
