Justin Amash: The New GOP Majority May Be Better Than You Think
Last night on The Independents Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) came on with mid-Movember beard to assess how principled limited-government types should greet the newly Republican-controlled Capitol Hill. His optimism may surprise you:
Also on last night's program, Julie Roginsky and Andy Levy joined the co-hosts in discussing how the then-latest Jonathan Gruber video illustrated much of everything that was wrong with the conception and passage of Obamacare:
Now show tonight, but Stossel's in the 9 p.m. slot per usual, and tonight he'll feature the Indies co-hosts in a special quiz about…sex laws!

Justin Amash: The New GOP Majority May Be Better Than You Think
And it may be worse. Much, much worse.
That headline made me laugh out loud. Then cry.
To be fair, the new GOP majority could stink to high heaven--and still surpass my expectations.
We have very very low standards
Speak for yourself.
I have very, very, very low standards, you elitist snob!
The Republicans that ran a primary challenge against Rep. Amash because he doesn't exhibit the proper deference to establishment authority and his warboner is grossly deficient.
Sure Justin, in that context, it almost has to be better than I think.
"Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) came on with mid-Movember beard "
Is that some kind of hip Move On kind of thing?

So we can expect a budget bill cutting spending by 10 percent across the board, and laying off 5 percent of the federal work force?
No?
FY, cut spending.
"Better than I think" isn't a high bar to clear.
Yeah, I think we'll be shocked if the rate of growth of the Federal budget is merely 99.7% of what was previously projected.
Hell, I would be shocked at 100%.
It would be cataclysmic if the budget didn't grow by several percent every year! Do you want to go back to the dystopian days of 2013?!
They mostly come out at night. Mostly.
Now show tonight? Who edits this slop?
Obama's a lame duck now, and if he pursues governorship or something, it'll be at a bluest of states.
So he doesn't care that that the GOP has taken over. He doesn't care that what he does in the next 2 years might hurt his party. He'll order some executive actions to bypass the GOP majority to get his way. The GOP majority might want do something really great, but it probably won't matter.
The guy was golfing when ISIS decapitated American journalist. He's been virtually untouched by the media despite one of his architect admitting to deceiving the public. He's more powerful than ever, as far as I'm concerned.
What does an editor in chief do if not edit?
In his defense, he considers it more a euphemism.
He chiefs over the editors who actually edit.
