Drew Carey Pledges $10,000 Reward to Find Perps Behind Cruel ALS Prank

A 15-year-old resident of Bay Village, Ohio, was the target of a sick prank: The boy, who is autistic, thought he was participating in an ALS ice-bucket challenge but had feces and urine dumped on him instead.

Video of the bullying first aired on Fox 8 News Wednesday at the request of the 15-year-old victim's parents. The parents wanted people to see the cruel prank they say high school students pulled on their son.

They said their son thought he was taking the ice bucket challenge to raise money for ALS research, but instead high school students dumped a bucket of human waste and cigarette butts on him.

In response, Cleveland native and Reason Foundation trustee Drew Carey has offered a $10,000 reward to people who uncover the people behind this awful action.

It's basically fraud, which results in force. They tricked him into thinking he was consenting to one thing, then turn around and did something else.

I don't like defining crime by the state and charging them with battery does no good.

The principle of the weregild provides a just response i.e. "You fuck with me, I fuck with you." (proportionately)

Or the corollary of the golden rule--the karmic rule if you will: "I shall do unto you what you do unto me"

In other words, since every action has an equal and opposite reaction, the answer is a taste of their own medicine. That's it, no legal positivism, no trying to find various statues to charge them with. Just the logical application of the principle.

It may be just as over diagnosed. It's a spectrum, and in this case, the kid was possibly severely mentally disabled, or, what would have been called retarded 30 years ago.

It's a shitty thing to do, but it's kid shit. Although it's pushing the kid shit boundary. Punish them. Leave the justice system out of it. I think the parents made a mistake by going public.

Autism is not usually (mis)applied that way. Assholes typically are assigned ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, or borderline personality disorder.

My brother in law has all of those in small doses, as well as being slightly autistic, though I am unclear as to the exact diagnosis of each of these individual traits.

I think this is a far better "challenge" than getting measely old cold water dumped on your head.

They should totally change it to feces instead of water. Maybe add some rusty old razor blades or hot cinders to the mix.
