Cop Arrests Man For Complaining About Speeding Without a Siren—Caught on Video

Cops in St. Louis County, Missouri, arrested a man apparently for complaining about the speed they were driving in the subdivsion—50 to 60 miles per hour according to one witness and without his siren on according to two—in an incident caught on video. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports:
[James] Schrader said Tuesday that he has health conditions and the officer roughed him up. "He had no business touching me," said Schrader, who was booked on suspicion of interfering with a police officer in performance of his duty.
After he was handcuffed, Schrader was complaining of a health condition, so the officer took him directly to a hospital after the arrest. Schrader said he was concerned for his safety during that ride because the officer was texting while driving to the hospital and driving recklessly.
Police say they were called to the area by paramedics for a "suspected overdose." Of that suspected overdose, police told the Post-Dispatch only that no one died. A neighbor said he called the police on the officer who made the arrest as soon as he got out of his car, saying he had an "attitude."

I can't tell you how many times I've suspected that a cop has turned on his siren just to speed. Usually, they'll turn on their siren, and speed up to 80 mph. However, if the highway is flat enough, you can see them mysteriously turn off their siren 4 miles down the road.
Contempt of Cop! 5 years!
Sounds like he's getting off lightly versus the normal penalty for contempt of cop.
THE FUCK IS UP WITH THE AUTOPLAY FUCKERS
Yeah, what is this, ESPN?
Thirded.
I think it's ABC news' website.
The only defense is to turn off your sound.
Fucking ridiculous. Cops don't even care about running over kids these days, because I'm sure that's what the guy was worried about. Naturally, any defiance of cop is a felony anymore.
Any kid who damaged the car would have been taken to the hospital in handcuffs.
Fucking goons.
Good thing no children assaulted the front bumper of our hero. Because he would have then been forced use deadly force against the irresponsible parents. At least he went home safely. That's all that matters.
Do you disagree with me? Well, clearly I must arrest you.
Yeah, what was the exact charge he was arrested on?
Also what is the deal with not naming the officer? Does the poor guy who got arrested get to not have his name in the police blotter in the local paper?
Fuck these stories are getting depressing.
Yeah, what was the exact charge he was arrested on?
"suspicion of interfering with a police officer in performance of his duty"
aka failure to obey
yeah, but from the video how can you say that with a straight face? (I mean the cops, not you sarc).
Shouting at a cop that he didn't have his siren on isn't exactly the Great Wall of China is it?
Personal OT: Woohoo! I'm getting outsourced in early July! Funemployment for the summer!
Just lounge out at the pool all day, Paul. I wish I could.
Lounge out at the pool all day, deliver Chinese food all night, apply for jobs for which you lack the stated qualifications online once a week, and collect your unemployment check every two weeks. It's the modern American dream.
I prefer "work high-paying consulting gig for a few months, make a ton of money, take a month off and lounge by the pool before getting another high-paying consulting gig" myself, but to each their own.
Just lounge out at the pool all day, Paul. I wish I could.
Sheeit, I'll even invite you over. Bring tobacco and liquor.
I can do that. Weed too.
Medical weed or regular weed?
Good weed.
Take one of those new $15/hour jobs in the interim. Like a lifeguard or maybe a pimp assistant.
I might have a opening for a monocle polisher. Sure, you'd be a slave, but you could live in Florida. I'd even house you for the winter.
*But in the summer, you're sleeping on the hot-ass beach!
but you could live in Florida. I'd even house you for the winter.
That's actually quite tempting. Send me your email.
What industry are you in?
Healthcare IT.
Law enforcement, dude. Two words: legal murder
And a higher salary.
I may finally get my mid-life crisis. Ten years too late, but I'm finally going to get it. I could be selling roses by the side of the Four Oh Five.
When's Paul's time? When's it gonna be Paul's time?
Looks like early July.
It's gonna be Big Pimpin' playin' on a loop at my house for the summer!
The 405? What, do you live in Bellevue?
I could be selling roses by the side of the Four Oh Five.
At first glance I read that as could be selling Four Roses on the side of the road and I thought that that would be pretty awesome. For us, obviously, not for you.
Best of luck, sorry to hear.
I'm actually pretty philosophical about it.
For the first time in my life I'm in a rather enviable financial situation where the mortgage doesn't go into default after week 1. So, for the first time in my life, I'm gonna take my severance, wave my organization adieu and wish them luck... they're going to need it.
I heard this morning that the CEO of my organization was in a closed-door meeting, screaming, "You're going to do WHAT with my IT department?"
I smiled when I heard that and said, "Mr [name redacted] made a pact with the devil, and I think the terms just came due."
Dude, that sucks. I hope you land on your feet. What industry?
Healthcare. I'm a network admin at a hospital.
After he was handcuffed, Schrader was complaining of a health condition, so the officer took him directly to a hospital after the arrest. Schrader said he was concerned for his safety during that ride because the officer was texting while driving to the hospital and driving recklessly.
Hey, that's a primary offense most places. That cop should be careful if he doesn't want to get a ti---BWAAHAHAHAHAHAH, sorry, just can't say it with a straight face.
Cops are THE. WORST. offenders on electronics use while driving.
"It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks, cop satellite IM system, cop texting, cop radio, cop cell phone, tactical cop laptop for browsing the cop web while driving. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas."
Fix the cigarette lighter.
The pigs have the fragile egos of spoiled children, backed by lethal force. Animals.
RESPECT MY AUTHORITAH
There certainly appears to be all the malice and cruelty of early adolescence without the accountability of adulthood.
Authority fetish = brain maxed out at adolescence.
At least chief of police Col. John Belmar isn't strutting around with 4 star general insignia on his collar.
Venezuela's still at war with its own economy. The latest tactic that I'm aware of is ration cards. Stay tuned...
Dude, you don't need to.keep posting about.it here. The abject failure of. Venezuela's centrally planned economy is being trumpeted.on virtually every evening news show, and CNN has started an entire channel.devoted to.tracking the woes of.Venezuelans...
Yeah, and Sean Penn's writing the screenplay for a look at the crowning achievement of socialism: toilet paper shortages!
"Anybody else got a problem here?"
New professionalism at its best.
"Heresh my warrant. How do you think he feels now? Better or worsh?"
What an asshole.
Why can't they just make their point without fucking arresting people? What a waste of time. Worse, each time they pull shit like this it just erodes people's trust in them.
Why? Because they don't respect "civilians." To cops, non-official citizens are all part of the.class of untermenschen from which criminals are.derived. And every good cop knows that the.only way to.deal with a potential criminal is.through violence and exercise of authority. They don't give a fuck if you respect them, only that you fear and obey them. They.don't know how to.deal with people on any.plane other than the lowest.
They serve the public, as in everyone else. You, the individual, are the enemy.
They know the charge is bogus, and that it will be dismissed either by the DA, or a judge.
This is the punishment they exact for your attempt to disregard their orders from on high.
Oh.
Like the supervisor will give a shit.
After watching the video again, I must say the cop used great restraint. I mean, he would have been totally justified in throwing the guy face first onto the pavement a few times, or smashing his face into the side of his car, or raising his cuffed hands behind his back until his shoulder popped out of joint, or just beating the hell out of him.
As for the guy with the camera, well he's just as lucky. That lady cop didn't like being filmed. She could have easily smashed the camera and arrested the guy doing the filming.
No one died. No one was injured. The officers went home safely. What more do you want?
You've been spending WAAAY too much time on policeone.
It's a free country.
If you're a baboon with a gun.
What the hell was he arrested for? All the cop would have had to do is say "Your complaint about my speed has been duly noted" and then walk away. But because the guy raised his voice to him he turned it into a "Don't you use that tone of voice with me young man" and sent him to his room. Seems to me that would be a good case of false arrest. The guy wasn't interfering with the cop in any way.
Cops are those assholes who insist that they are right about everything, even when they are wrong. Except that they also carry a gun and have power of arrest.
What this guy did was tell the cop that he was wrong. At that point he was going to jail or the morgue.
When I lived in California, the cops regularly cut through our development at high speed because FYTW.
Heaven help those people if they defended the man and handcuffed the abusive cops.
If there were free means of security, any aggression such as this or the countless other abuses by cops (to include murder) would be defended against. They really would have to worry about making it home safely if they fucked with people. Douchebags such as these two would never be employed in a protective firm, and even if they were, I doubt they would reach retirement, and such a firm would most likely go bankrupt as individuals (having free choice in their defense) would not fund a service that abuses or murders them.

Nice little read for the minarchists with the hopes they drop the min. As for the Monocleists, you might sheisser in your pants and throw up all over the place.

I think we're getting close to a turning point where you might see this start happening. The word is getting out on the intertoobs and the thugs are losing the respect of the people.
Only within the last couple of months, I've noticed a big difference around the web when these stories break. The comments are now going 80+% against the thugs. Oddly enough, it's even more so when it's a dog that gets shot.
I agree and the best part of all is that the cops are so comfortable in their zero accountability bubble that has existed for the last 30-40 years that they don't even see it coming.
Mmmmmm...this will be fun to watch.
Also, did you all see this one?
http://photographyisnotacrime......-sidewalk/
Eff you squirrels!
Fuck, are you kidding me? I see there jerks driving around every day, speeding with or without lights, driving recklessly, not using turn signals, rolling stops(which is of course a serious offense for us serfs), tailgating, etc, etc. I'm not sure I've ever seen a cop use a turn signal.
Don't post shit that autoplays.
Thanks in advance for never doing that again.
Hyperion, I had seen a cop car bust an "illegal" u turn, block the crosswalk facing the wrong way down a one way street. All for.......going to get some food from the Chinese food place!!!
It's like WTF! Yet if the serfs do it, Ticket, yelling and if they resist BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!!!!
Glad to see someone else note that the pigs are obviously quite secure in their position as above the law.
One of these ****heads pulled over a buddy of mine for speeding, and asked him if he "though that the law didn't apply to him". My buddy being wiser than his years, meekly said, "no" and was let go with a ticket. The next day, one the same road, one of the g**ns comes flying down easily 20 mph over the limit, no lights, no siren. I wanted to follow him, and ask him if he "thought that the law didn't apply to him", but my Honda won't go that fast.
Often they're not content to just point out your error and write a ticket. They also have to lecture you, as if your alleged infraction was some kind of personal attack.
In this way, they are a lot like wives.
"He had an attitude"
Surprise, surprise.
