European Car Sales Up in September

After hitting record lows

|

Passenger car sales in Europe recovered in September from last year's record low as the ongoing economic recovery in the euro area, combined with price-cuts and government incentives, lifted demand in the major markets.

The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) on Wednesday said that new registrations of passenger cars grew 5.4 percent to around 1.15 million units in September from a year earlier, when the sales volume had plunged to a record low.
