Juror in Zimmerman Trial Says the Neighborhood Watch Volunteer Got Away With Murder
Couldn't convict because of Florida law
A juror in the George Zimmerman trial has said he "got away with murder" over the killing of Trayvon Martin.
The only ethnic-minority member of the jury - identified as juror B29 - told ABC she felt she owed the teenager's parents an apology.
But she said the all-female jury had to return verdict of not guilty based on the evidence available and Florida law.
"You can't put the man in jail even though in our hearts we felt he was guilty," said the woman, who allowed her face to be shown but only used her first name, Maddy, out of fears for her safety.
"But we had to grab our hearts and put it aside and look at the evidence.

What an idiot.
I'm finally convinced the average human being is a complete idiot.
Even though the jury came to the only rational verdict of not guilty, 3 of the jurors initially voted otherwise. Two voted for manslaughter and one voted for second degree murder. Maybe this was the juror who voted for murder. So HALF the jury initially ignored ALL the evidence indicating clear self defense against a vicious unprovoked assault and voted to send an innocent man (according to the evidence) to jail for many many years.
Wow. How can we have any faith in the criminal justice system, let alone the civil justice system (which has much lower standards for depriving somebody of their life's earnings)????
The hell. It erased my comments.
As I tried to say, you're right Inc. The woman clearly doesn't understand common U.S. legal standards of proof.
