A real economist would recognize that the true cost of a thing is what you give up to obtain it.
This has always been a good Austrian meme.
Maybe that will work for Detroit. They should try it.
Don't you see? That's what America is doing with Detroit.

This page is probably the best as far as Austrian memes go.
Ben finally tells the truth
By the way, since we're being told that the economy is going like gangbusters now and the deficit has supposedly been significantly reduced, doesn't that mean that Quantitative Easing can end now?
Not only that, we should be running a surplus to offset the previous deficit spending.
Buy back T-bills ahead of schedule? But that would collapse the world economy!
That page would work better for Krugman. Who might be the same person. It looks like Benank and Krugabe were cloned from the same 'statist cell strain' in some lab underneath Berkely.
Both have extremely gay creepy-old-guy beards.
Economics is the social science of pawns moving about the chess board as they're told.
"En Passant!"
Florida gets economic boost.
Well now that makes a lot of sense dude.

I see Nick is also having a Sunday Funday.
"Has anyone at work ever said to you, 'Looks like someone has a case of the Mondays'?"
"No. No, I do believe you'd get your ass kicked for saying something like that."
My Sunday Funday begin with a written warning for the despicable crime of consuming an alcoholic beverage outside of permitted hours. Apparently because my lovely waitress cleared my food a couple of minutes before TABC "raided" the establishment and I still had my beer in front of me I was in violation of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code. Well spent tax payer dollars I say.
how dare you willingly put a legal substance into your body without first seeking guidance from your betters. Next thing, you will want the autonomy to order a meal by yourself.
I mostly felt bad for the waitress, she got berated about how they could send her to jail. Yeah, technically she didn't make sure everybody ordered food with their beer between 10 am and noon on a Sunday but fuck that noise.
The TABC is morally evil, and the people enforcing it are morally evil.
A transient aggregation of the consequences, so far, of all human actions.
Is this why there are no cisfemale libertarians?
But the trannies love us!

Thread is dead. Fail.
If you want to reach the youth, post moar.
This is why no libertarians exist on a Sunday.
I blame Bush
BOOOOOSH!!!!
Shut up, you dittoBushing Christpig.
Christ FAG thank you very much, Shreek, Jr!
I'm Shreek, SR. thank you very much. I was there when he was conceived. I witnessed the ritual, with its dark rites, looked on as his mother was impregnated by Satan, and laughed mirthlessly as Shreek was birthed into the world, screaming CHRISTFAG! as he entered the mortal realm.
I have seen things you wouldn't believe.
I thought Shreek was the spawn of Steve Smith and Mary Stack.
STEVE SMITH WANT NOTHING DO SHREEK. NOT STEVE SMITH FAULT. STEVE SMITH BLAME BUSH.
Someone should make a youtube of this.
"hoo hoo" Are you a man of wealth and taste? "hoo hoo"
A smoking ban in Auckland hospitals is "torture" on their most vulnerable patients, lawyer says.
You want torture?
Jeff Bridges sounds drunk in these Hyundai ads.
You SF'd the link.
I didn't post a link. It was on my telly.

'Hero Cop' Charged with Raping Two Women at Gunpoint
A friend of mine apparently got into a heated verbal altercation with this guy on the streets of Philadelphia after this douche cut him off in traffic.
He didn't even know he was a former cop until months later, and then this happens...suddenly his insanity and belligerent behavior makes perfect sense.
Yahoo to buy Tumblr
1. Why put down a billion for all that stupidity? They already have Answers.
2. What will happen to all the porn?
It will suck having to get softcore porn elsewhere.
Oh, wait, for values of "suck" that equal "be a mild inconvenience".
uhhh they have plenty of hardcore stuff too, just sayin'.
*Softcore* is that even still a thing?
In addition, many industry observers think that Tumblr's pages are packed with porn or other questionable content that would scare off advertisers.
It's a fashion blog damn it!
This sucks. Most of the tumblr-sphere I frequent is liberated ip. I bet Yahoo is going to fuck that up.
Prediction: tumblr users will wail and gnash teeth about how this is 'problematic'.
Will? It's already been happening for a couple days now.
Yahoo has historically not cared much about porn. I remember there were a lot of yahoo groups for explicit purposes (local group meetups, etc) or aggregating pics and clips of pornstars back in the late '90s early aughts.
Yep. My first ISP was portaled through my mom's work, the school district. The only porn to which I had reliable access was yahoo groups.
my roomate's step-aunt makes $69 hourly on the computer. She has been fired for 10 months but last month her paycheck was $14085 just working on the computer for a few hours. Read more here... http://www.daz7.com
Speaking of online Yahoo porn......
"Been fired" - more like your aunt is "ON" fire, amirite!
I'll tell you what, I'll visit your site right after we review my brief pitch.
Are you familiar with "multi-level marketing?"
Hercule Triathlon Savinien's last post
Wow. HERC's speaking in the tongues now.
I pointed this out months ago. Poor Herc's blog has been usurped by Indonesian spambots.
Bonus Hockey!!!
Double Bonus Hockey!!!
What is this hockey?
Uh, pretty sure it's a fight minus the gal in the prom dress.
I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out!
Obama's lead counsel learned of IRS targeting of Tea Party organizations weeks ago.
So either Obama's lawyer isn't telling important information to the president, in which case the White House is even more dysfunctional than I thought, or Obama lied when he claimed that he didn't know about the IRS scandal until we did.
I'm in shock
Or that this is much worse than currently known and he intentionally didn't tell Obama to ensure a little bit more deniability.
Honestly, Obama is so utterly incompetent that I don't buy into the Republican narrative that he knew anything about this stuff.
I think he's just a total moron who is currently overseeing on organization that is too large and powerful for anyone to truly control it. That seems like the simplest answer.
See the WSJ article below. He knew. It was all a set up. He would single people out knowing the IRS would go after them. They may never find a smoking gun. But it is pretty obvious everyone knew what to do.
I've seen that claim before, and I don't think there's enough evidence to say that Obama purposefully targeted Vandersloot. The IRS probably did, but for all we know it's a bunch of bureaucrats who targeted him hoping to curry favor with The One. No real evidence that Obama knew.
I almost hope he didn't know. If it turns out Obama knew, then we get to impeach a scumbag, but it doesn't really help that much. If it turns out he didn't know, then the scandal serves as evidence of the problems that occur from a large government.
If he knew, the left will just claim 'The Right people weren't in charge!' like they always do. If he didn't know, then it cuts to the heart of the entire leftist worldview.
They'll never turn on Obama.
For what it's worth, Willy Brown is blocking down-field (or as far as he can run), claiming Obozo 'over intellectualized' the issue (WHAT? Yep that was in his column in the SF Chron today).
He's not Pelosi with direct access, but he's an SF/CA ward healer and is probably asked to pitch whatever his limited IQ can offer.
(no link; the Chron is hoping people want to read his crap sufficiently to put it behind the pay wall. I read some of it in the dead-tree version)
Or that this is much worse than currently known and he intentionally didn't tell Obama to ensure a little bit more deniability.
This sort of obfuscation would never fly in the free market. I just entered management for the first time six months ago, and I learned quickly that my boss holds me responsible for my employees' failures. If I'm not on top of it, then I get the zonko.
Impossible. Liberals have assured me that since private entities make mistakes, the problems of government prove nothing.
Stop claiming the free market is better than daddy government, you glibertardian.
"This sort of obfuscation would never fly in the free market."
Dunno, but it'll certainly 'fly' in some companies.
The difference is easy to see:
1) Those or other companies don't have the luxury of collecting money at the point of a gun.
2) Those companies might well get competed out of business if they keep it up.
Still not as bad as the rethuglicans

It is not even Obama's fault. He is being crucified by evil Republicans for the acts of people he had never known and is not responsible.
/new progtard talking point.

"It is not even Obama's fault. He is being crucified by evil Republicans for the acts of people he had never known and is not responsible."
And he doesn't know this stuff is happening! It's some low-level bureaucrats in fly-over country who are doing bad stuff!
And the dog ate his homework, too. Right?
Mr. VanderSloot is the Obama target who in 2011 made a sizable donation to a group supporting Mitt Romney. In April 2012, an Obama campaign website named and slurred eight Romney donors. It tarred Mr. VanderSloot as a "wealthy individual" with a "less-than-reputable record." Other donors were described as having been "on the wrong side of the law."
This was the Obama version of the phone call?put out to every government investigator (and liberal activist) in the land.
Twelve days later, a man working for a political opposition-research firm called an Idaho courthouse for Mr. VanderSloot's divorce records. In June, the IRS informed Mr. VanderSloot and his wife of an audit of two years of their taxes. In July, the Department of Labor informed him of an audit of the guest workers on his Idaho cattle ranch. In September, the IRS informed him of a second audit, of one of his businesses. Mr. VanderSloot, who had never been audited before, was subject to three in the four months after Mr. Obama teed him up for such scrutiny.

In unrelated news, the DOJ spied on a Fox News reporter.
From the comments:
BUUUUUUUUSH DID IT TOOOOOOOOO!
Obviously if this had happened under Bush, this person would have been losing his mind.
Clearly the government should be held to the same standard as a mom and pop small business. I know that every mom and pop business has a group of armed thugs that can throw me in a cage, so this is a perfect comparison.
I hope you weren't expecting anything from partisans.
Lawyer: "We need to talk about something important, Mr. President."
Obama: "Does it concern how awesome I am?"
Lawyer: "...not as such."
Obama: "Then it can't be that important, can it?"
at least he hasn't been filmed smoking crack.
right?
Not only is it the fault of 'Da BOOSH!, but:
you all are racist.
Does anyone actually buy this schtick? It's so blatantly transparent and false that people can't really believe this shit.
I mean, if a white guy steals my teevee in 2004 and then a black guy steals my stereo in 2012, the black dude can't just use the defense, "Well, that guy stole your teevee in '04 and that was much worse, and racism!" One situation, obviously, has nothing to do with the other.
I'm looking at you shrike.
or Obama lied when he claimed that he didn't know about the IRS scandal until we did.
Actually, Obama said that he didn't know what was in the IG report before it came out. Which is probably a true statement, as far as it goes
Game of Thrones night and hello naked Emilia Clarke, long time no see.
Every episode of game of thrones there is some hot girl naked. Emilia Clarke is impressive, but I haven't seen a single episode of game of thrones without some high quality nudity.
There was also the naked redheaded priestess in this one.
Yeah, but I don't think we've seen Emilia Clarke naked since Season 1. I was hearing rumors that she had a no-nudity clause added to her contract in response to her increase in fame, so her gorgeous body soaking wet again was a treat.
And the red-headed priestess justifies the old maxim never stick it in crazy.
Well yeah, but you can fantasize about crazy.
The leeches kind of ruined the mood for me.
you're lucky I'm watching this in 20 minutes.
I don't think revealing nudity in a GoT episode counts as a spoiler.
Also because of Memorial Day weekend the suits at HBO are airing the next episode in two weeks. This sucks because the penultimate episode is always the most crucial and shocking.
Verbal Kint is Keyser Soze.
There, I just saved you an hour.
Kevin Spacey does a great Chris Walken.
He is an amazing impressionist--full stop.
poor, poor Sansa
I'll admit I thought it was funny in a shitty kind of way when Joffrey took the stepping stool from Tyrion at the altar. If only that was the extent of his asshole-ness.
Damn, I thought that said 'Tom Waits'.
It's alright. I get that sometimes. And when I see "Tom Waits" I think they might be mentioning me.
"16 Shells from a Thirty-Ought Six..."
You were great in Seven Psychopaths.
Just fucking great. Libertarian philosophies are already derided as unfriendly to females. And we go ahead and throw "bitches" on the shirt? Another word would have sufficed. What the fuck?
And this is why we have no women libertarians.
It's not meant to be a gender-specific use of the term. That would be "Hoes." "Bitches" or "Bitch" is often used to address males as well.
http://blog.vsee.us/wp-content.....o_army.jpg
It's pretty stupid and totally foreseeable. What the fuck? It's not like Mises likely used the word "bitch" very often...
