Shot Four Times by Undercover Deputy and Allegedly Left to Die, Seth Adams Fit the Description, Shooting Ruled Justified
More than three months after being fatally shot by an undercover Palm Beach sheriff's deputy four times in the parking lot of his family's business, the officer is cleared of any wrongdoing

On May 19, twenty-four-year-old Seth Adams was shot four times by an undercover deputy, Michael Custer, who said in an interview with an investigator two days later that he felt his life was threatened, according to transcripts provided to the Palm Beach Post (some of the audio is available here), part of hundreds of pages of documents from the state attorney and Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which investigated the shooting. That investigation cleared Custer of any wrongdoing in the shooting, naturally.
Seth Adams noticed the undercover deputy's car in the parking lot of his family business on his way home from a local watering hole. Custer says he identified himself "verbally" and "visually" and that he "had a radio out." He claims Adams grabbed him by the throat and that Adams' "intentions were dangerous." When Adams returned to his vehicle, Custer said he recognized the maneuver from training videos and thought Adams was going for a gun. He shot him four times in under two seconds, saying "I think I basically tried to push away and just went boom, boom, boom, boom."
Attorneys for Adams' family claim police stood idly by while Adams crawled across the parking lot after being shot, and that police impeded the arrival and departure of EMS. Custer says Adams told him there were "cameras here" and that "this is all being recorded." Police seized video equipment from the Adams' family business on a warrant looking to prove a felony was committed; "battery on a law-enforcement officer." Police later said no video of the incident was found.
The family rejects the findings of the state investigation, and their attorney said they want to conduct their own. They reject the claim that Adams was violent or that he would resist arrest (Custer claims he told Adams he was being placed under arrest). "Both sides agree that Adams told Custer to get off the property," the Palm Beach Post reported, and the family attorney says that means Custer had become a trespasser.
Custer was conducting surveillance, but the documents show it was not targeting Adams, his family or their business, but rather an ATM theft ring, run by white males in their twenties known to be violent, according to police. The Palm Beach Post also reports that police believed that ATM ring was conducting counter-surveillance and wanted to target a deputy's home. Custer said he wasn't sure if Adams belonged to that ring, though the family attorney points out he was wearing a bright green shirt from the garden store in whose parking lot the deputy was conducting surveillance.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, meanwhile, said of the situation: "It was just very bad from the outset with Seth Adams' demeanor towards the deputy." Shortly after the shooting, Bradshaw noted "there's only two witnesses here: the suspect and the deputy. And the suspect was not able to be interviewed. Why he decided to assault the deputy? We may never know that." When the investigation was well underway, Bradshaw claimed it would "verify exactly what I thought from the beginning."
The Adams' family attorney also pointed out the final report claimed "physical evidence were partially predicated on Sergeant Custer's account of the incident," saying that "the forensics in this case should not be made to fit Deputy Custer's account."
And nothing else happened?

Police later said no video of the incident was found.
And that's all you need to hear. If it went down as the officer said, they'd have produced the video immediately. Instead they stole and destroyed it.
As I pointed out with the first time article about Seth's murder, there is nothing visible from the parking lot except for Adams' family property, scrub brush, and dirt roads. Just check out the Google Street View at the intersection of: Okeechobee Blvd A Rd, Loxahatchee Groves, FL 33470. The claim that Murderer Custer was conducting surveillance should not be accepted given that he could not have been surveilling anything from that location.
That should be Okeechobee Blvd ampersand A Rd.
You knew this result was predestined, but it's still a kick in the teeth to read it.
" When the investigation was well underway, Bradshaw claimed it would "verify exactly what I thought from the beginning."
And apparently they made sure of that.
The final investigation report into the shooting said that Custer may have thought Adams was connected to the ATM ring since police knew that those suspects were in their 20s and white.
They all look alike.
You would post this on a day when I've run out of shocked faces.
I've been following the antics of PBSO for a while now; it's one of the most corrupt agencies in FL, and that's saying something. There's actually a forum where the deputies post and complain about the corruption down there.
http://www.pbsotalk.com/topic1.....ation.aspx
Apparently, neighbors reported a car peeling out of the area right after they heard the gunshots. Most of the deputies think that Custer was fucking his GF in plain clothes in the unmarked car while his wife was at home (which apparently is very closeby) Adams worked at a nursery, for chrissakes, and the business was in a rural area. There were no ATMs for miles; what was the deputy surveilling? Anyhow, a lot of the deputies think it was a bad shoot, esp. ince Adams crawled over 300 feet while shot, while making two phone calls before other deputies arrived...
They complain, and then help cover up a murder by one of their fellow deputies.
Maybe they should stop complaining.
Just complaining makes them feel better. Right up to the point they need someone to cover for them.
The PBSO home wrecking slut Custer has been Having an affair with has been acting really strange. Bet anything she was there. Bet anything Custer left his house to go hook up with her explaining why he was there. Bet anything Custer was banging her in the parking lot when Adams rolled up. Bet anything she knows what happened. How's that going to sound? PBSO DEPUTY STARTLED WHILE HAVING SEX IN HIS PATROL CAR SHOOTS INNOCENT UNARMED BOY . Don't have a good ring to me.
Nice. Long ago, I knew this woman who would only fuck cops, by her own admission.
She wasn't all that bright.
I knew one that liked "cops and married men." She was hot but fucked in the head (obviously).
but fucked in the head
lrn2analsex, noob.
oh, wait...
Nice. Here's the guy in charge of the investigation:
Sheriff Bradshaw Covers for Friend stealing Drugs from Dying Coworker
Is this his LinkedIn profile?

He's interested in new career opportunities. Also, "public safety", hah.
A good movie to watch after reading this is UNLAWFUL ENTRY with Kurt Russell (who is evidently some sort of libertarian). Watching the ways in which a sick cop can persecute a lawful citizen is chilling, to say the least.
Plus, Madeleine Stowe is naked in the movie. Always a plus.

I'll be in my bunk.
I saw that movie, but it starred Sam Jackson. Prolly a remake.

Contempt of cop is punished by summary execution.
So, lower standards: Check.
Thuggish police forces.
Revealed preference of the political class.
There is a video on youtube titled "Ric Bradshaw speaks about The Seth Adams Shooting". At 8:42 minute mark, a reporter questions Bradshaw if anything (DNA/physical evidence)was found on Seth Adams. Bradshaw tells reporter he'd have to go to the doctor's autopsy report. Apparently Bradshaw hasn't looked into this?
Something isn't right about this whole incident.
So I encounter some guy in dirty clothes with a walky-talky and yelling POLICE and I'm supposed to think this is someone with AUTHORITAH??? and not some fucking thug meaning to do me harm.
Like the Leesburg shooting a couple of months later, this is an example of totally ineffective training and policy.
Fuck pigs. They are worse than nazis. At least, in the end, nazis were held accountable. And Dunphy wonders why some have this unmitigated hatred toward these cowardly cocksuckers.
Yes, fuck pigs, but you are a poor student of Nazi history if you think cops are WORSE than Nazis and their cohorts the German military. Cops seem to line up in the mentally-inept assjack column but you won't find them, for example, shooting to death 33,771 Jewish men, women, and children in a massacre canyon (Babi Yar). Additionally, many Nazi scientists and so on actually went on to careers working for the U.S. gubment (Operation Paperclip) so this idea that Nazis across the board were held accountable isn't accurate. In some cases, according to the documentary 'The Ritchie Boys' when the Allies would liberate a town they would reinstate the local Nazi leadership, much to the dismay of the local citizenry.
Speaking of poor students. The Nazis co opted the police departments of major cities and from them filled the ranks of the Brownshirts. Cops then, and now, savor power (which is why they have the fucking job) and were more than willing to exert their new powers.
Same thing could/would happen here. Sociopath cops (roughly 70% of any department) would gladly go from slapping you around to interrogating you on meat hooks. It's who they are.
If I had a son He'd look like Seth Adams
I notice Dunphy is mysteriously absent.
I'll fill in for him: you're all just a bunch of BIGORATI who don't care about officer safety. atfpiac it was a clean shoot
hth
I'm not sure I get it, Custer was trespassing. If a cop is on your property you can tell him to take a hike, he must comply.
So by the cop's own admission he had no business being there and escalated the situation by continuing to argue.
It sadly appears that no criminal charges will be made but there is a civil case all day long and if there is any justice, Custer will be paying through the nose for murdering Seth Adams.
More likely it'll be taxpayers footing the bill.
If a cop is on your property you can tell him to take a hike, he must comply.
Or he can murder you and claim self defense.
And nothing else will happen.
Very little justice in this country. It's a disgusting police state.
The information new to me here is that the cops now openly concede that Adams told Custer to leave.
Even before I knew that, I already considered it pretty obvious that this was a bad shoot. With that extra data point, I don't see how it can even be disputed that this is a bad shoot.
If Adams walked up and said, "There's no parking here, leave," every element of their interaction after that point is immaterial. The only reason there'd be any interaction at all is if Custer refused. So what the hell were they even investigating?
what the hell were they even investigating?
the video evidence. they were seizing and destroying investigating the video evidence.

While I'm certainly not defending the cop, it's possible that Adams didn't give the officer any/enough time to leave. If you immediately follow the words "This is private property, so I'm asking you to leave now" by grabbing the cop's shirt through the window of the car, then there might be something here. This is completely hypothetical, of course. There is some gray area on what should be considered "immaterial" or not, even if Adams was well within his rights to tell the cop to GTFO.
RESISTANCE IS FATAL!
Its stupid punk cops like this I just love to hear about in the news that get clipped in the line of duty!

Yeah, a guy sees some dude lurking around his family's business in the dark, and it's a real puzzle why he might "assault" him...
