I haven't watched the video yet. But there is ONE way for Gary Johnson to get to the point where he could make an impression on the electorate AND a difference in the outcome of the race. (But, no, he won't get elected.

If BOTH Romney and Obama think that GJ's presence in the "national conversation" can be used to hurt the other guy, then GJ's campaign can get some oxygen.

How do you get both of them to come to that conclusion? I honestly don't know.

However, the political pros seem to think that Florida, Ohio, Colorado, and Nevada are the states that are both electorally in-play and big enough to make a difference...

If Romney picks the war monger Rubio as his running mate, then I hope Johnson takes enough votes from Romney to make him lose. Maybe then the GOP will stop taking their libertarian base for granted.

On the other hand, if Romney were to pick Rand Paul as his running mate, I could vote for Romney. That would be the only condition that I would vote for him.

If he does pick Rubio, and follows Rubio's lead there's no way Johnson gets any attention. During the senate race Rubio refused to participate in any event that included LP candidate Alex Snitker. One teaparty event that I was marginally involved with had invited both men to speak. After we announced that they would both be there, Rubio's people called up and said that he wouldn't show unless we uninvited Snitker. The people running the event caved to Rubio's demands despite my protests. Also, Rubio is the poster boy for corruption.

I fear for this country. The GOP is now composed of the sorts of people who step in when a sleazy lying scumbag is called for, such as in corporate puppetry.

All they do is get ever more hysterical about everything and they know they can peel off a few stupid people to vote for them out of fear. It's how they've won for generations now, no matter how godawful their performance in government the last time, and it's never been better funded.
