Arizonans Approve Medical Marijuana
Arizona's latest medical marijuana initiative, which looked like a loser on election night, passed after all, thanks to a count of early and provisional ballots that was completed over the weekend. The Arizona Republic reports that "the secretary of state's unofficial results indicate that the 'yes' vote on the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act has won by a narrow margin of 4,341 votes, or 50.13 percent of more than 1.67 million votes counted." The vote makes Arizona the 15th state to allow medical use of cannabis.

This dude back where I worked at the, uh, Styrofoam peanut factory, like, he converted the toilet into like a bong, and you just sort of put your face over the seat. It was pretty badass. I went in there, someone had used a number two, so I fish it out, load it up. Gotta do something to get through that shift. Later on, when I became an adult, I was thinking, you know, "that's gross", but man, that bathroom was so awesome in high school.
So when you got some bad shit, you weren't being metaphorical?
You're not fooling anyone Epi. Get some new material.
You are so down on ATHF. I also don't care for much on Adult Swim, but ATHF is genius. You probably hate 12 oz. Mouse too.
You can't hate stuff you've never heard of. Maybe it's funny the way it was originally delivered, but in print -- sounds 'tarded.
You can't hate stuff you've never heard of.
ATHF is a show about a super powered happy meal and their misadventures in their 3 bedroom house in new jersey and their neighbor Carl.
12 oz mouse is a story about a 12 oz mouse who exists is some alternate future world in some south American county...well half in south America and half in post apocalyptic France. the show switches from before the Apocalypse when 12 oz mouse lived in South America has a boss who is a shark...basically his life was miserable and it focuses on his mundane life...car breaks down, boss bitching at him, bad girl friends etc. his life in post apocalyptic France on the other hand he dominates at and loves. The story plays between these two extremes and often only hints at which time line he is in. Sometimes it is obvious with 12 oz mouse carrying guns other times it is not so obvious.
90% of the dialog is taken from a Kathy Acker novel.
I making this show sound way better then it is.
You probably hate 12 oz. Mouse too.
WORST SHOW EVER!!!
but yeah ATHF is great.
Just ask the city of Boston!
Sorry, but Tim and Eric Show is worst show ever. Except for the Dr. Steve Brule segments, cuz that's John C. Reilly, yo, and he's cool.
It's because of all the gay jokes, right? You hatemonger.
I'm a Robot Chicken man myself. Come to think of it, that might be the only thing on Adult Swim that I can stand (KotH notwithstanding).
Venture Brothers?
It's possible. I haven't actually seen it yet. I'll put the first season on my queue and report back.
Anyone who doesn't like Venture Brothers is a communist there I said it.
BRING BACK ARCHER!
Archer was FX not adult swim
the guys who did Archer also did Frinky Dingo...that was on Adult Swim and might be what you are thinking about.
I'm thinking of Archer and I know it is FX.
I'm thinking of Archer and I know it is FX.
I think you mean NOOOOOOOOPE.
http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/originals/archer/
Brilliant satire. Venture Brothers is the Dread Zeppelin of cartoons.
I miss Space Ghost Coast to Coast and Cartoon Planet.
Children's Hospital and Delocated are both horrible.
Adult Swim has some real atrocious crap on it and can be hard to find the right shows without getting frustrated.
I don't have cable and simply go to their web site for my fix...it is easier to wade through the garbage that way.
Not a Metalocapalypse fan, Josh?
Squidbillies.
And I said, "Dog muff! What you doin' leaving Q109, you dumbass dog?"
Hey, when are we gonna fix my guacamole?
I hate to be "off-topic" but threaded comments force me to place this response near the top (if I want anyone to read this).
The passage of this prop is undoubtedly good news, but the trajectory on the issue is a little depressing.
rock on!
I don't think so
That loud bang you hear is Joe Arpaio's head exploding.
Arpaio will be fine. He never gave a damn about the law before; what makes you think he'll start now?
Exactly so. Arpaio will ignore any law he doesn't like.
And in other news, the sun will rise in the east tomorrow.
That loud bang you hear is Joe Arpaio's head exploding.
Proof that medical marijuana does work to eliminate disease.
This just shows that voting really does matter.
It's not often that I'm happy with the way my County voted. I'm really surprised we passed it by enough to carry the rest of the State
Then again, Pima County made sure Giffords & Grijalva went back to Congress. Can't win 'em all.
Yea!! I voted for. Nolan, too.
This is interesting. It shows that there must be a growing number of Conservatives who support medical marijuana. I am not saying a majority of conservatives support it. But it could not have passed if some people who voted for Jan Brewer did not also support this law. In other words there is some percentage of Arizona's electorate who voted for both Jan Brewer and this law.
A lot of my conservative friends realize that if you legalize pot it will cut down on the border problems here. Explains some of that vote and also fits in with their politics.
As was pointed out here at Reason, more national GOP candidates ran on a legalize pot campaign than did national Dem candidates.
I think I might wanna vacation in AZ after all. 🙂
Long as you're the right color.
There are a growing number of people period who agree that medical marijuana should be legal. If they happen to call themselves conservatives that is great.
I have relatives in Arizona, who are conservatives with a libertarian outlook on some topics. So, this doesn't surprise me, other than I wouldn't have thought it would be this close.
Presumably the Federal Government will sue the state of Arizona to enjoin enforcement of this law, considering that the Feds have exclusive jurisdiction.
Or something.
But OTOH if a state wants to opt out of Obamacare...
"COMMERCE CLAUSE, bitches. The Federal Government can do whatever the fuck it wants. Suck it up."
The deported illegals will be protected from the legalized poison.
My lovely Juanita, why, oh why, do you never call me?
Juanita's not real, right?
I mean, she can't be. Nobody really has a stick crammed that far up.
Juanita is a class 2A troll. She (?) posts stuff to see if anyone will rise to the bait.
The ontological status of juanita has been a subject of much debate in these threads. I maintain that she's a piece of low-concept but remarkably consistent performance art. Others are not convinced.
"Nobody really has a stick crammed that far up."
So they you have never met Jehovah's Witnesses then? Those people don't even like Halloween!
They also don't like birthdays or Christmas, for that matter.
they don't like war
Or Christmas, the fuckers.
I'm still trying to figure out the "poison" part.
They're also silly superstitionists. If they find an acorn now and then, fine, but remember Il Duce got the trains to run on time.
Witnesses ought to be illegal, too. They probably smoke that poison, given their screwed-up so-called religion.
Snopes disagrees
Il Duce got the trains to run on time.
No, he didn't. He just made it illegal to report when they were late.

John Ashcroft makes Billy Graham look like Freddy Mercury.
*I* have a stick crammed that far up. Farther, even. For instance, it's been at least forty years since I've seen my wife naked.
You GO, juanita! Right on!
If I had my way, a lot more things would be illegal. Like orgasms, for instance.
To those who think that "my vote doesn't matter" let this be a lesson. Thankfully about 0.13% of the voting public *did* get off their butts and get this thing passed.
Wrong. The initiative was not decided by a single vote. And if it had been closer, the courts would have sorted it out.
Voting doesn't matter. If it did, it would be illegal.*
*Paraphrase of some quotation.
Okay, so without some number of votes X the courts would have sorted it out. So the vote which brings the count to X must matter then. And without the previous votes, that particular vote wouldn't have reached X, so all those votes must matter as well.
"If voting could change this system, it would be illegal. If not voting could change the system, it would be illegal." - Robert Anton Wilson's version
Hey, did anyone catch "This American Life" on NPR? It hit on some good libertarian topics like unions and petty tyranny of govt. officials. I recommend it though of course the pinkos at NPR didn't put two and two together and realize the dude the show is about was empowered by the screwed up system they endorse.
Hey Mike C.,
Yeah, I heard that too. I'd bet that a disproportionally large percentage of workplace shootings occur at unionized facilities. That would be a good topic for a study, if it hasn't been done yet.
Too bad they also approved Joe Arpaio.
He wasn't up for a vote this time.
Every day that a torch-wielding mob doesn't storm the Maricopa County sheriffs office is a tacit approval of that pile of shit.
If Holder's DOJ really wanted to do something useful, they would fire a salvo of indictments against Arpaio and his remarkably corrupt cronies. I might even make it a habit to say "Holder" without the requiste "That motherfucker" prefix.
It's because Holder is black, isn't it, you hatemonger.
And thats just the fuckers in Maricopa county. Please don't tar the whole state with what they do
Gritty Harry got re-elected. Who gets the blame?
huh?
Oops, got Arizona and Nevada mixed up. It's been a long-assed day. My bad.
We both have cacti & reptiles. I understand the confusion.
Would be fun to get Arpaio to bust Harry Reid, though... phone in a bogus smuggling tip next time he drives through Maricopa territory. Even more fun if someone could plant a bag of heroin and some kiddie porn in Reid's limo.
I confuse all those little states east of the mississippi all the time
and Nevada can keep Reid there
Wow, I think this is the closest my vote has come to actually mattering. Medical pot has passed here once or twice before (the people that write propositions here seem to be pretty terrible so those they didn't actually do anything) so it's hard to say what this really means about marijuana acceptance in the state.
Great article, it's helpful to me, and I also like the useful info about pandora bracelets .
Good job for writing this brilliant article of cheap prescription pandora charms bracelets .

pandora bracelets uk info, it helps a lot.I totally agree with you on the point of prescription pandora .
yes we should welcome legalization of medical marijuana as many people can get help by its medical effects. We must start a knowledge centers and the dispensaries on medical marijuana as many as we can and let people know about how to grow marijuana outdoor/indoor. Check this article to get idea of it- http://bigbudsmag.com/grow/art.....ruary-2013
