I like watching studio 60 because they show how 9/11 set us back in so many ways.

Can't wait to get back in the US(S)A now that the nation is coming back to its senses. Even though Canada didn't get the hard-on for soldiers and authorities that the US did, it is still cold and lonely here for me. when i see studio 60, I remember how America used to be, at least the good parts, where the smart alecks were praised and the sheeple scorned.

I think a lot of smart creative people were basically hurt in a lot of diffuse ways and that a lot of the next 5 years will be spent integrating ill-used people back into mainstream culture. Lot of us are not happy.

McCartney is right that we need to rethink our views on drugs. But, he seems to be in denial of the fact that the 60s didn't end so well for a lot of people and drugs were the primary culprit. Nonetheless, in defense of his counting abilities I must point if one reads the full post, the quote about the sixties as "thirty years ago" turns out to be from a 1997 book. So "thirty years ago" is properly rounded off, and, if he is thinking of his Revolver/Pepper prime, exactly accurate (1966/67 - 1996/97).

In late 2001, my preferred military strategy was to send a few hundred thousand foot soldiers after Osama Bin Laden and the "training camps" and to leave the Taliban alone other than basically rooting terrorism out of the country. My concern, in late 2001, was that the US was focussing on gaining political influence in Afghanistan and that they would not catch Bin Laden. I even promised a conservative aunt in late 2001 that I would vote for George Bush's re-election if he captured or killed Bin Laden prior to the 2004 election. Basically things in Afghanistan went as badly as I feared and we did not get Bin Laden, which, to me, means that the guy who did 9/11 got away with it.

As far as Saudi Arabia, that should have initially been matter of following the money and making public the names of the wealthy Saui Arabians who got the funds to Atta. Next step: you extradite these ppl. I would have given the saudi Arabian government 2 choices: give us the individuals we want to bring to justice in an international court. If they co-operated less than eagerly then there would have been a series of gradually escalating monthly nuke strikes until they came to their senses and handed over the individuals who bankrolled 9/11. As it stands, to me, the people who bankrolled 9/11 got away with it.

A Jewish guy from New York known for doing a mutated form of reggae, and for beatboxing, recapitulating white reggae from the UK, which was in imitation of the Copeland boys' Jamaican immigrant neighbors, who were listening to sides from the islands, where they dropped U.S. pop and rock radiating from Miami radio into their local melting pot, with the U.S. stuff deriving ftom the collision of the music of the African Diaspora and the folk tunes of the Celts and Saxons back on Erin and Albion, salted with the Tin Pan Alley sensibility of the Brill Building writers, who were mostly Jewish.
