Castro and Jacko: Ever Seen Them Together?
International eccentrics (OK, nutcases) think alike: A few weeks after deposed King of Pop Michael Jackson claimed an apparently wounded left foot was caused by a spider bite, Hollywood's favorite dictator Fidel Castro explained away a week out of the public eye by claiming an unidentified bug bite -- also on his left leg -- was to blame. "It was my duty to protect my beloved left leg," the dashing despot declared. "It has never betrayed me. I couldn't betray it now." Note to entomologists: I know a spider is not technically an insect, though often colloquially (and unfairly, to be sure) condemned as a bug.
