Castro and Jacko: Ever Seen Them Together?

|

International eccentrics (OK, nutcases) think alike: A few weeks after deposed King of Pop Michael Jackson claimed an apparently wounded left foot was caused by a spider bite, Hollywood's favorite dictator Fidel Castro explained away a week out of the public eye by claiming an unidentified bug bite—also on his left leg—was to blame. "It was my duty to protect my beloved left leg," the dashing despot declared. "It has never betrayed me. I couldn't betray it now." Note to entomologists: I know a spider is not technically an insect, though often colloquially (and unfairly, to be sure) condemned as a bug.
