Brickbat: Catch Your Breath

New British cars may soon be equipped with breathalyzers and data recorders under Labour government plans to align with European Union vehicle safety regulations, sparking controversy among privacy rights advocates and Brexit supporters who accuse the government of covertly re-aligning with the E.U. The Department for Transport has committed to an "explicit presumption of alignment," aiming to reduce manufacturing costs by avoiding separate U.K. and E.U. standards, but critics argue this move undermines Brexit by using statutory instruments to incrementally align with E.U. rules without debate.

That's absurd. In the UK, and most of the western EU, and Minnesota, it should be doing a facial scan for your zebiba.
My zebiba is bigger and better than Your zebiba AND Your zarbas AND Your zebras all cumbined!
Nuke Brussels.
...under Labour government plans to align with European Union vehicle safety regulations...
A dozen words you never want to hear, innit.
It would be just as crazy if the rest of the US followed California rules.
Perhaps the UK needs common sense alcohol control laws including limits on purchases, background checks, wait periods and registering purchases alcohol.
. . . under Labour government plans to align with European Union complete control of the individual.
Wonder when they'll implement social credit scores?
If we got rid of The Jones Act and adopted something more like the EU's cabotage, transport, and labor laws, places like Hawaii, Guam, and Puerto Rico could be enjoying the freedom and prosperity that the UK enjoys.
And in addition to testing your breath, a personal car trip in the UK will have to be approved by the town council based on environmental impact, DEI parameters, and the driver's current social credit score.
On the plus side, Brits are spending less on gas and tires.
Ahem. That's petrol and tyres, thank you.
Creepy Thought: Black Mirror is/was actually between Overton Window psyop and aristocratic, self-amusing taunt.
I thought the UK decided to get their heads out of their asses? They keep sliding left and the slope is increasingly steep.

The daft buggers are aware that the steering wheel is literally on the opposite side of the car, no?
Sure, they'll save the 30 cent difference in the software but they'll still have to route the blow pipe another way unless it's mounted in the center so the 10 year old can blow into it from between the front seats to get the car started.
