Gasoline Engines and Sex Changes for Kids

Trump tells autoworkers they're screwed: While the rest of the slate of Republican presidential contenders was debating each other on stage Wednesday, former President Donald Trump was visiting autoworkers in Detroit, who are striking for a lot more pay (40 percent over four years) for far less work (a four-day workweek). But, true to form, he didn't really have encouragement for them, per se.

"It doesn't make a damn bit of difference what you get because in two years you're all going to be out of business," he said, referring to the growing electric vehicle industry. "The workers of America are getting, to put it very nicely, screwed."

Trump was speaking, somewhat amusingly, to a non-unionized shop in Clinton Township. The day prior, President Joe Biden had visited the nearby picket line, telling workers that they deserved a big chunk of the wealth they had helped create, making the argument that if the companies are doing really well, the workers ought to be doing really well too.

Both men were pitching autoworkers to vote for them; Trump's comments just rubbed much of the media the wrong way because of how blatant his ploys for votes are. The United Auto Workers should "endorse Trump," he added at one point, pledging to save the American auto industry and prevent jobs from going overseas. "If they don't all they're doing is committing suicide."

Biden's comments, though they may play well with picketing workers, discount the complex decision making that goes on behind the scenes; surely these companies aren't abstaining from sharing wealth with workers solely because their ranks are filled with greedy execs, but also because those people have a mandate to ensure the companies' survival and ability to be competitive with increasingly-dominant electric vehicle manufacturers.

In 2016, Trump won Michigan. But in 2020, he lost the state by roughly 154,000 votes. His speeches have, of late, been filled with barbs for Biden and his electric vehicle subsidies. "The damn things don't go far enough and they're too expensive," Trump said of EVs. "Gasoline engines will be allowed" if he's elected again, and "sex changes for children will be banned," he added right after. The state of politics in 2023!

All tomorrow's shutdowns: Though it will show weakness, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (D–Calif.), faced with no good options, is expected to bring the stopgap bill to a vote even though it is unlikely to pass. If it indeed fails to pass, the government will shut down. McCarthy's logic reportedly stems from the idea that bringing it to a vote will at least make it look like he did everything in his power to avert a government shutdown.

With the far-right flank of the House still dissatisfied by the amount of government spending in both earlier appropriations bills and the stopgap measures (which could fund the government until mid-November, allowing legislators time to decide on more permanent solutions) McCarthy has no clear path forward. More on McCarthy's mounting losses.

As for the government shutdown? Lots of services deemed essential will continue to be administered—Social Security checks and food stamps will continue to be issued, for example—but national parks will close to visitors and air travel could get worse.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein dies at 90: "From her perch in the Senate, Feinstein was a habitual enemy of the Second Amendment, a hysterical drug warrior, and an unfailing defender of government surveillance," wrote Reason's C.J. Ciaramella back in February when news broke that Feinstein, a Democratic senator from California, would not seek reelection in 2024. Condolences to her family.

Scenes from New York:

Won't tons of people be priced out of using food delivery apps, resulting in less work for delivery men? Stunning to me how people infrequently think through unintended consequences. More on this ruling here.

Breaking: A New York judge has denied Uber, DoorDash and Grubhub's attempt to block an NYC minimum wage bill from going into effect, setting the stage for delivery workers in New York City to start making at least $18 per hour.

QUICK HITS

  • Eurozone inflation has been cooling. "Readings across the major economies that use the euro currency were a mixed bag," reports the Associated Press. "Germany's annual inflation fell to 4.3% in September from 6.4% a month earlier, while Spain's increased to 3.2% from 2.4%."
  • "Is theft a problem for these companies?" discourse:

I don't think there is any reason for retail stores to keep items behind lock and key - creating friction that reduces sales and increases staffing burdens - if theft wasn't so common as to hurt their bottom lines even more https://t.co/HN3o60aUFk

Sen. Dianne Feinstein dies at 90...

I look forward to her upcoming vote on the shutdowns.

They could probably weekend-at-Bernie's her for a few more votes

      1. Vernon Depner   2 years ago

That's so 20th century. Today, they could just Deepfake a dead politician. I suspect that's the plan for Biden's second term.

        1. Minadin   2 years ago

Fetterman's already voting from the 'cloak room'. Biden ran a 'successful' presidential campaign from his basement in Delaware. So, there's precedent.

          1. Mike Laursen   2 years ago

Not to mention the leading Republican candidate not bothering to show up for the Republican debates. Kinda Biden’s basement-y.

            1. JesseAz   2 years ago

I know. Who does Trump think he is? he should have worked with the RNC to not even have debates like Biden did with the DNC.

              1. Red Rocks White Privilege   2 years ago

The thing about Trump and the GOP debates is, from his perspective why should he even bother to show up? He's WAY ahead of any of the other candidates, and they can't gain ground on him no matter what. He doesn't even need a majority to win delegates, he just needs to keep his current lead.

The debates right now aren't even going over policies that the center-right supposedly wants to see discussed, they just end up as an endless referendum on Trump rather than going over what they'd even want to do if they got the big chair. Which shows that the center-right is no more serious about wanting to govern than they accuse Trump of being.

                1. JesseAz   2 years ago

I actually think it gives more exposure to the other candidates without Trump there so they have more visibility and can attempt to get their views out without the focus being on Trump. Mike thinks this is a negative for some reason.

                  1. Red Rocks White Privilege   2 years ago

It's giving them more exposure, but the problem is that none of them are actually doing anything to take advantage of it. They're just bickering, and when they aren't bickering they're talking about Trump anyway.

I'm pretty sure the only reason Haley's gotten most of the positive attention from these is because she presents the same opaque, gauzy "presidential" image, lacking any kind of real substance, that the center-right loves to worship.

You are mistaken. Trump was not a draft dodger in the way it was normally defined. Here are the details:
                      https://www.ibtimes.com/donald-trump-draft-dodger-avoiding-vietnam-war-2570839

Trump did nothing to escape to Canada or destroy his draft records or warrant anything for an arrest. Getting a deferment is not the same thing as draft dodging. It should be noted that the left applauded actual draft dodgers of the Vietnam War, which they disavowed.

Move Kamala Harris to the Senate, appoint Newsom as VP per 25A, and then 25A Biden out, all before January 1, 2024. The only sticking points I see for the Dems here is that 1) the Republicans have the House, and 2) without Kamala as President Pro-Tem, the Senate is exactly 50-50. That means that any potential VP candidate must meet the approval of at least the GOPe.

Recently, known retarded (and proclaimed genius) hack Neil Degrasse Tyson has been saying people shouldn't care about Women's spaces being violated because the simple solution is just making all locker rooms and bathrooms into a series of unisex stalls that have doors that lock.

You know, just change the whole concept, tear down the old shit, pay the cost to upgrade (a wide open room with a couple benches and 30 lockers is significantly more simple and economical than 30 individual changing stalls with their own doors), all because 0.01% of the population has a mental health problem/fetish. To him, this situation is therefore, "already solved".

It comes from the same retarded place. People that are normal and exhibit healthy behaviors have to pay, change, or sacrifice so dysfunctional / pathological people don't have to take any personal responsibility and fix their own lives

But our ruling class has set it up such that the (illegal graft) benefits to holding on to that power outweigh by far any other concerns. They chose to keep they gravy train coming as long as possible rather than care for her health and comfort. So, fuck them.

Other than ending up as a rolling wheelchair-corpse on the Senate floor, I will always remember Feinstein as the partisan hack who sat on the ridiculous Blaisely-Ford 'accusations' letter until the 11th hour of the Kavanaugh hearings. Which is when I vowed to never vote for another Democrat at any level ever again. So I guess she was good for something.

Every election, Broward would stay below 3% reporting until after all results were in for the rest of the state.

        Every statewide election was close.

        Then....

DiSantis replaced her. Since that moment, Broward has reported election results promptly. Statewide elections have not been close.

The government doesn’t give a fuck when it comes to taking what it wants. Everyone loves to lionize Oppenheimer, but the reality is that Los Alamos as it currently exists wouldn’t have even happened if he hadn’t recommended it as a site to build the bomb because he happened to like the scenery there. It resulted in the government seizing the homes, schools and businesses of dozens of people who had already built a life there in order to turn the whole area into a top secret military base, and telling those people "get the fuck out, good luck, what happens to you isn't our problem."

The NM Democrat Party said something similar about impeachment proceedings against the governor, how Republicans were just exploiting policy differences.

"Whether or not to follow the Constitution" is a bit more than a policy difference, or at least it should be.

Today's hot take from the WaPo.

The rise of ‘Chinese Communist Party’ as a pejorative

"During the GOP presidential primary debate on Wednesday, DeSantis didn’t use the word “woke” once. (He also didn’t say “Fauci.”) But he did use another pejorative term: “CCP,” referring to the Chinese Communist Party. At another point, he referred to his opposition to “communist China.” DeSantis has mentioned “CCP” or Chinese communism six times since the beginning of August — and numerous times before that.
He wasn’t alone in bringing it up during the debate. Vivek Ramaswamy, who is contesting DeSantis’s primacy in amplifying themes from right-wing media, similarly bashed China by way of its leadership"

For the authoritarian, social-credit-score-loving bien pensants at the Washington Post, the Scourge of the Uighurs isn't a problem. It's Republicans.

  34. Minadin   2 years ago

"Ron DeSantis said he'd use the Justice Department to bring civil rights cases against progressive prosecutors"

Well, there are numerous examples of them actually and literally depriving people of rights or otherwise causing harm or violating people's rights, under color of law, for political reasons in some cases. So, shouldn't that be dealt with? They should not be abusing their office for ideological purposes, should they?

    1. Mike Laursen   2 years ago

There is the little problem of his painting all prosecutors who, from his quite partisan viewpoint, are "progressive" as being corrupt. It's (a) guilt by association; (b) stereotyping; and (c) pandering.

He could have said he would go after prosecutors who have abused the powers of their office for partisan reasons, or something like that. But it wouldn't be DeSantis-like to be precise about whom he would be targeting.

      1. Minadin   2 years ago

Did he say ALL progressive prosecutors? Or are you just putting your own personal bias into your reading there? (Cite?)

There are different types of 'progressive' prosecutors. Here in St. Louis, we had two. One in the City and one in the County. The one in the County is reform-minded, quite liberal in many aspects, but he's still actually prosecuting crimes and helping the victims get justice. He's doing his job.

The one in the City, on the other hand, was not doing her job. She would launch sweeping investigations into her party's political enemies while failing to prosecute violent crime, and even had a policy to be especially lenient based on RACE. Over her tenure, 65% of the attorneys that worked in her office quit. They failed to show up for court dates and cases got dropped. She failed to comply with a state audit for over two years. She was forced to resign this past summer before getting shit-canned via court order. And, she nearly lost her license to practice law in the process. Also, it turns out that she was working a side job during that time, illegally. She should probably be in prison.

        1. Mike Laursen   2 years ago (edited)

Hmm, this is silly, since you and I are debating the nuance of C.J. Ciaramella’s tweet rather than DeSantis’ words. So, let me find DeSantis’ quote:

“I will use the Justice Department to bring civil rights cases against all of those left-wing Soros-funded prosecutors. We’re not going to let them get away with it anymore. We want to reverse this country’s decline. We need to choose law and order over rioting and disorder.”

Huh, he literactually used the word, “all”. It’s also a bit of a word salad of jumbled, dog-whistley thought.

What exactly is the “it” they are getting away with? He seems to be calling them out for letting off leftist rioters, not for “depriving people of rights or otherwise causing harm or violating people’s rights, under color of law, for political reasons”.

So, his particular beef in his debate quote is that they are too lax when it comes to their fellow leftists. (I wonder if he also believes all the left-wing rioters are “Soros-funded”.)

[Disclaimer: Oh, yeah, I have to include a disclaimer, because anything I say will be misrepresented: Like I've said many times, I disapprove very much of rioters, whether they are leftist or right-wing.]

Crediting Biden, which you have done in defense of Shrike here, is in fact a political statement. That is literally what Shrike is doing. Giving Biden credit for the areas of energy production he has no control over.

You don't bother with any actual analysis of the numbers, you just blindly scream numbers. The numbers are easily refuted as they are numbers intentionally chosen at a low point in the economy (Covid), ignore where the growth is (state and private lands where Biden has little effect), ignore the genesis for the numbers (leases signed under Trump), ignore production delay timelines from lease to build, etc.

You fell for the same idiocy Shrike fell for and then scream numbers to justify your ignorance. Bumper sticker mentality.

I’ll ask you since Shrike won’t answer (as I’ve given him the links).

First. Where is production rising in the US? Federal, State, or Private lands?

Second. What actions has Biden taken that either lower or increase energy production?

You’re falling for shrike’s ignorant narrative because you have no interest in actually understanding anything. The left did the same type of narrative building under Obama under the same conditions.

You’re just an ignorant fool sarc. This is a prime example of you being such.

Biden directs his administration to reduce energy production, as shown in links just below. Biden then takes credit for energy production he has no effect on with state and private lands. You are easily fooled into accepting this narrative in your constant defense of democrats and hatred of Trump. Do you even acknowledge that the 2022 increase was from leases signed UNDER TRUMP? Or are you ignorant to the delay factor in leases being signed to production?

Please, continue to revel in your ignorance sarc. Working out great for you.

Notice you chose to blindly ignore this:

The numbers are easily refuted as they are numbers intentionally chosen at a low point in the economy (Covid), ignore where the growth is (state and private lands where Biden has little effect), ignore the genesis for the numbers (leases signed under Trump), ignore production delay timelines from lease to build, etc.

All shown to shrike over the months with links.

                  1. sarcasmic   2 years ago

Dude, none of that refutes the fact that production is at an all time high. That's just a fact. It's not a political statement.

I state facts, and the voices in your head yell "Biden is great! Biden gets all the credit! Go Biden!"

Then you expect me to defend those voices.

                    Get help.

God Damn sarc, you really are this dumb.

Newsome’s entire discussion point is energy production is better under Biden than Trump. It is a political argument of who has done more for energy. The actions both took are a primary case for who was better. You continue to try to say Biden was better with your “look at the numbers” ignorance while ignoring the sources of the production and the actions of the candidates.

The 2022 production increases was literally from leases signed UNDER TRUMP.

                      You are honestly this stupid.

Yes, you are defending Newsome's narrative without inspection or any care of the reality of the inference/narrative.

Newsome’s entire discussion point is energy production is better under Biden than Trump.

HIGHER, moron. And Newsom is correct.

                    3. sarcasmic   2 years ago

HIGHER, moron. And Newsom is correct.

                      Exactly. Facts is facts.

Whether or not it is due to policies, better technology, prices, or some combination thereof, is a different debate.

But not to JesseAz. He reads someone write "Production is at an all time high" and the voices in his head say "Biden is awesome! Trump sucks!" Then he responds not to what was written, but to the voices in his head.

I seriously think they guy has schizophrenic hallucinations, because he really believes we said whatever the voices told him.

Like Jesse said, the 2022 production increases was literally from leases signed under Trump.

Meanwhile, Biden has repeatedly blocked leases on all federally held lands.

Those are the fact that you, Newsom and Sarckles the idiot-boy are lying about.

                    5. sarcasmic   2 years ago

All I said was that it is true that production is at a record high. That is factually correct. Is it because of, or in spite of, Biden's policies? I'd have to go with door number two on that. But that doesn't mean the facts are wrong.

Three different sources saying the same thing with the same numbers.

So, yes or no, is domestic oil production at an all time high or not?

                    10. sarcasmic   2 years ago (edited)

If your answer is no, domestic oil production is not at or about to exceed the previous record of just shy of 13 million bpd, then show me some numbers. What was the high before the pandemic? What is production now? If I’m wrong, show me some numbers. Personal attacks and partisan accusations don’t make the numbers wrong.

And sarc continues to intentionally ignore why the numbers are higher as he defends shrike and Newsome.

Sarc. What was the post in the thread you are arguing about? How is Biden responsible for the production increases?

What facts? Using a low point during covid to try and push a narrative? I mean all of Joe’s actions are AGAINST energy independence. The rig counts up on federal lands were leases signed under Trump, which now Biden canceled. Energy production from federal lands is down. Biden consistently sees to that. Production is up on state and private lands. Which he can only delay, not stop.

The more accurate statement is ignorance and narratives are leftist.

Newsome's claim is also regarding heavily subsidized "green" energy which is costly to taxpayers and ultimately not as efficient as a power source.

Newsome and Democrats rely on the retardation of people like you shrike.

          1. Sarah Palin's Buttplug 2   2 years ago

Parts of it are also interesting historically, and interesting and fun! culturally.

But, the government sucks and one can always visit there while living somewhere daily living is more doable. And that’s why when I semi-retired four years ago, I moved out.

That production was from leases SIGNED under Trump which have now been canceled by Biden. Again, you're attempting to give Biden credit for actions he didn't have a part of.

You are taking entire industries to credit Biden while continually denying the actual actions Biden has taken. Again, you are intentionally ignoring where production is up, on land Biden doesn't not have control over. This is intentional at this point.

But hey, at least your narratives work on sarc.

If you want to impart a credit for the president, explicitly state the numbers for Federal lands and the actions or policies the president has on the market.

That is not what you are doing here. You’re pushing narratives to prop up Biden. Again, it works on sarc, not on others.

The American Petroleum Institute said in 2013 that “we’re producing more oil and natural gas despite current federal policy, not as a result of it,” noting that production on federal lands plummeted during his tenure while increasing on private lands. . Mr. Obama also promoted policies designed to curb fossil-fuel usage and production, including the Clean Power Plan; the federal methane rule; federal restrictions on hydraulic fracturing; the rejection of the Keystone XL pipeline, and the Paris climate accord.

Why and how did Tony Fauci secretly try to steer the CIA investigation on the origins of Sars-Cov-2?
    https://alexberenson.substack.com/p/why-and-how-did-tony-fauci-secretly
Dr. Anthony Fauci made at least one secret visit to the Central Intelligence Agency’s headquarters in McLean, Virginia to “influence” the agency as it tried to figure out if Sars-Cov-2 had leaked from a Chinese lab.

That bombshell allegation came yesterday from the Congressional subcommittee examining the origins of and response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Fauci’s hidden efforts in 2020 to discourage scientists from examining if the risky Chinese “gain-of-function” research he supported led to the pandemic have been extensively documented. Now the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic claims it has evidence he tried to steer the investigations inside the intelligence community too.

    1. Ra's al Gore   2 years ago

      From the Voldemort substack:
Fauci Diverted US Government Away From Lab Leak Theory Of COVID’s Origin, Sources Say

The former director of the US National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Dr. Anthony Fauci, who led the US government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, visited CIA headquarters to “influence” its review of COVID-19 origins, the House Oversight Committee reported yesterday.

Last month, Committee Chair Brad Wenstrup made headlines when he revealed that seven CIA analysts “with significant scientific expertise” on the agency’s COVID-19 Discovery Team (CDT) received performance bonuses after changing a report to downplay concerns about a possible lab origin of the virus.

Now, a months-long investigation by Racket and Public, which included interviews with the CIA whistleblower behind last month’s revelations and others in a position to know, reveals that Fauci not only visited the CIA but also pushed the controversial “Proximal Origin of SARS CoV-2” paper, published by Nature Medicine, in meetings at the State Department and the White House.

Previous reporting already showed that Fauci “prompted” the “Proximal Origin” paper, according to its authors. Lead author Kristian Andersen expressed grave doubts about the natural origin theory even months after Nature Medicine published the paper. And they described themselves as pressured by “higher ups,” referring to individuals in the White House and other government agencies.

Now, the new information from multiple sources, including a CIA whistleblower, a senior government investigator, and a senior official, suggests a broad effort by Fauci to go agency by agency, from the White House to the State Department to the CIA, in an effort to steer government officials away from looking into the possibility that COVID-19 escaped from a lab.

“Fauci’s expert opinions were a significant consideration and were part of our classified assessment,” said the CIA whistleblower, a decorated and long-serving CIA officer with expertise in Asia. “His opinion substantially altered the conclusions that were subsequently drawn.”

      A Bolt from the Blue

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Bolt

      highlights

The first generation was produced from 2016 to late 2023. In 2023, GM officials said they would cancel the car, then three months later announced plans but no date for a next-generation model.

GM Korea began developing the Bolt in 2012 with a team of 180 people with the project code G2KCZ (G2 for Gamma 2nd-generation platform, K for hatchback, C for Chevrolet, and Z for electric car).[13][14] Its initial concept debuted at the 2015 North American International Auto Show.

An unnamed source cited by Bloomberg News estimated that General Motors is expected to take a loss of US$8,000 to US$9,000 per Bolt sold

In November 2020, 50,932 Chevrolet Bolt vehicles of model year 2017–2019 were recalled due to potential fire risk.[40] According to GM, these vehicles contained high voltage batteries produced at LG Chem’s Ochang plant that may pose a risk of fire “when charged to full, or very close to full, capacity”.[41]

November 2020, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has confirmed five known fires with two injuries and recommends parking recalled vehicles outside, away from homes, until they have been repaired

In January 2022, GM announced that the Orion Township factory would be retooled at a cost of $4 billion to produce Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV pickup trucks, starting in 2024. The factory will continue to make Bolts until retooling is complete in 2024, when it will shift to making the trucks.[4

Yet this simple rebellion by what one might dare to term humble people has been written off as reactionary by people who can’t or won’t see the essential dignity of the right-to-life position.”

“[In the 1960s] Margaret Thatcher voted to keep capital punishment, to keep homosexuality criminal, to make divorce harder to get, and for the abortion bill. I gather that she’s since changed her position on the latter. My own vote would have been, as so often, exactly the reverse of hers.”

If you work in government, or if you work as a "journalist" by transcribing government press releases and calling it reporting on the government, a government shutdown is threatening, if not actually tragic.

Breaking: A New York judge has denied Uber, DoorDash and Grubhub's attempt to block an NYC minimum wage bill from going into effect, setting the stage for delivery workers in New York City to start making at least $18 per hour.

    Why not $180?

      Why not 180.86?

"It doesn't make a damn bit of difference what you get because in two years you're all going to be out of business," he said, referring to the growing electric vehicle industry. "The workers of America are getting, to put it very nicely, screwed."

One of the best things about Trump is his inability to blow self-entitlement happy-dust (i.e. BS) up your *ss. It's also the biggest reason happy-dust(BS) addicts can't stand him.

I'm actually shocked he even brought it up; I've mentioned before that the UAW would get a ton of mass support if they framed the strike as being against woke CEOs who want to build electric cars to fluff their ESG scores but very few people want to buy, versus IC vehicles that are popular but are being targeted by the Green Cult. Look how much Disney's rep and revenue has taken a shit since they decided to go all-in with the DEI nonsense.

I don't know that the auto companies actually want to go EV so much as they're all looking at every stupid government on the planet saying they have to.

        1. Red Rocks White Privilege   2 years ago

It's important not to get it twisted; these corporate board rooms are MEGA-woke now specifically because the loudmouthed college activists from 20-30 years ago that everyone said would get a reality check "once they got into the real world" are now all running both the middle-to-upper management tiers of these companies, as well as the training consultancies and charities these people all work with as a cost of doing business.

Companies don't give a shit about how much money they are losing anymore, really--if that was the case, Disney would have course-corrected and shitcanned Latondra Newton ages ago, not just in the last few weeks. To the extent they're paying attention now, it's only because the ZIRP spigot dried up, but they are absolutely NOT abandoning that agenda just because the government is holding a gun to their head. Just look at Twitter and the freak-out by the left and center-right once Musk bought it.

    He is absolutely right.

This was the status quo for almost my entire life.

    Why change it?

I see that thanks to global warming NYC is getting several inches of rain. Never having seen rain before, the street cleaning crews have been unable to keep up with shoveling the rain away so everybody is in danger of drowning. The good news is that this ought to solve their illegal-immigrants-living-on-the-streets problem, the bad news is that too many New Yorkers have shelter and won't face the same fate.

"With the far-right flank of the House still dissatisfied by the amount of government spending in both earlier appropriations bills and the stopgap measures (which could fund the government until mid-November, allowing legislators time to decide on more permanent solutions) McCarthy has no clear path forward."

Yes. The insist, "This budget thing is so sudden! And it has never come up before! You know. The thing about cutting spending? We really need time to dwell on that proposition."

My goodness, we have been kicking this rusty can down the road for decades. We last passed a budget in 1996 (IIRC). So, what the left and their media mouthpieces want is to go ahead and pass a continuing resolution and we can forget about this nasty debt and spending thing next time. They say, "We promise, next time we will look seriously at cutting the rate of growth. But now is not the time." Just like last year was not the time, nor the year before.

    ___

As to this sentence "In 2016, Trump won Michigan. But in 2020, he lost the state by roughly 154,000 votes."

How do we know that? BTW, has Reason inquired as to the status of the FBI's investigation into the 8 to 10 thousand fraudulent voter registrations that was submitted in Michigan. Has anyone asked how many fake registration were not caught? The FBI...the place where investigations go to die (quietly).

Isn't Wayne county in Michigan? You know that place where they kicked out the observers and covered the windows with pizza boxes? I think it is.

      1. markm23   2 years ago

Yes, Wayne County is half of Detroit. And it's where in 2016, an audit for a recount demanded by the Green Party found that 26% of the boxes of ballots could not be validated - so they stopped the recount, and the election officials kept their jobs and learned that they could stuff even more ballots and get away with it.

Gold coins and Bitcoin and freedom of speech,
Open markets and trade routes that nobody can breach.
Cocaine and ammo in vending machines,
These are a few of my favorite things.

    Liberty, markets and personal arms,
Stay independent and free from state harms.
Gasoline engines and sex changes for kids,
These are a few of my favorite things.

    When the state grows,
    When the tax bites,
    When I'm feeling mad,
I simply remember my natural rights!
And then I don't feel so bad!
