Brickbat: Knock Three Times

In 2020, a confidential informant told Ottawa, Canada, police that rapper Chris Woof sold "large amounts" of cocaine and crack. That led cops to conduct a no-knock raid on Woof's home, where they held him at gunpoint and tore the place apart. They found no cocaine or crack. They did find 70 oxycodone pills, which Woof had a prescription for, and tens of thousands in cash. Woof said the money was from a contracting business. Police charged Woof with possession of a controlled substance with intent to traffic and possession of the proceeds of crime. The former charge potentially carried a life sentence. But recently, more than two years after the raid on his home, prosecutors dropped all charges against Woof. Prosecutor Céline Harrington said the prosecution's own drug expert said he "could not support an opinion that the amount of the drugs seized were for the purpose of trafficking."

Police had to justify their unconstitutional (oh, right, Canada) home invasion so they made up the charge they probably knew would fall through later.

As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. ... Only this and nothing more.
Nice (in a sad sort of way) to know this shit isn't totally a U.S. thing.
Police charged Woof with possession of a controlled substance with intent to traffic and possession of the proceeds of crime.
When does this kind of "charging" become "filing a false police report" or "bringing a frivolous lawsuit"?
Never?
A one month's supply of a drug for which he had a prescription and some cash? My goodness, how can these officers not be charged with some type of crime?
Because they are law enforcement officers.
Oh Canada! More like the United States every day!
Yeah, I've seen "Canadian Justice" and I'm not very impressed.
With a name like Woof he's lucky they only arrested him.
However, his companion was shot down when he yelled "Woof!" and it was justified under the dangerous dog doctrine.
Dumb honest mounties! 'Murrican cops would've brought a five-gallon bucket of aspirin, mixed in the handful of prescription pills and advertised "nearly 50 pounds of cut narcotics." What Canada needs is crueler laws, weaponized police with absolute immunity from prosecution and carte blanche (Canooks know what this means) to seize and rob everything in sight if nothing illegal is found. In 1929 they had to gaze enviously across the border wishing THEY had an asset-forfeiture Crash and Great Depression to brag about.
Seems they were barking up the wrong tree.
I sometimes wonder if cops actually know they're the pieces of shit, or are they so retarded, they actually believe they are the heroic 'good guys'.
I suppose it depends on the individual officer and how much rationalization they have to do to justify their immoral behavior.
