Brickbat: Say What?

Police in Northumbria, England, say they have tracked down and issued warnings to six people who left offensive comments on the department's Facebook page on a post about a sex grooming gang. The comments referred to the race and religion of members of the gang. All of the members of the gang were of Asian or Eastern European descent while all of their victims were of white British origin.

Islamaphobiaphobia.
It's a good thing that offensive isn't subjective or this could get ridiculous. I suppose it's also a good thing that there's so little crime in Northumbria that bobbies have enough resources free to police thought.
boobies...read it that way first and wondered what kind of resources boobies have, bras?
Vast tracts of land
When you live in a swamp, you need all the land you can get.
BTW, I reported Oliver to British police for causing public concern. He stated the ethnicity of the sex gang.
If only I had a Facebook account and a list of banned words.
"We would also like to take this opportunity to remind people using social media that they should do so responsibly and ensure they do not post anything which could be considered offensive."
There are no banned words. Its what could be considered offensive as in there are no standards on what is offensive.
if the contemptible enforcers employed by extortion-protection racketeers have become so effete, it is because the people have grown so docile
So...the violation was that commenters called them middle eastern Muslims? I should hope it was a little worse than calling a spade a spade.
how about calling it a fucking shovel?
Too bad I get a 403 from the link, & also from a search from their main page for northumbria+shelter+facebook.
Reason directing traffic to their site crashed the server.
Sex grooming? So, in other words, making oneself look more attractive to the opposite sex through getting a better haircut, more flattering clothing, keeping nails clean and trimmed, showering regularly, and some judicious pruning of the undergrowth?
I don't see a problem with that, but didn't know they had whole gangs of people to advise on that outside of that old TV show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
Still, that region's police need to fuck off, slaver.
ISTR "grooming"'s being jargon for preparation of a minor for sexual activity w a particular adult or group thereof.
You guys jest, but I was stopped cold by that phrase.
"Sex grooming gang". It immediately brought to mind some bizarre fetish behavior where they grabbed up a woman and shaved her bits.

Dibs on the band name.
"You guys jest, but I was stopped cold by that phrase."
Me, too.
Now that I know what it is, the post might make sense.
"Pimp" is the word they don't want to use.
Among others.
"It's hard out here for a 'sex grooming gang' " won an oscar for best movie soundtrack.
Gotta love, "Officers have now spoken to these individuals and warned them about their behaviour."
A stern talking to...
How'd you get past the 403s I've been getting?
Ask your parents to take off the parental controls.
It would be a shame if people outside the UK started sending inappropriate messages to their twitter account @NPRoadPolicing.
Is Britain a shithole now?
Not at all. It is a left wing paradise where true facts in a facebook post and sexual predation of minors are both prosecuted.
Only one of those was truly prosecuted. And it's not the one that's an actual crime
No, but it's on its way to it. Once they've brought in enough savages to culturally enrich every underage white girl...
I have a few choice comments ready to post on the Northumbrian Police FB page.
Northumbria police FB page
These socialist shitholes really do hate any freedom of speech.
"sex grooming gangs". Why is this not an American thing? Why do the brits get all the fun stuff?
What makes you think this doesn't happen in the US?
The police KNEW about these gangs, and what they were doing for over a DECADE. And they intentionally let it go on because they were scared to be called racist, since every member of these gangs was a brown skinned Muslim savage.
When one of the families took their daughter back, the police actually came to their house and took the young girl and gave her back to the kidnappers.
These things are apparently all the rage among some of the more recent immigrants.

The Rochdale child sex abuse ring involved under-age teenage girls in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England. Nine men were convicted of sex trafficking and other offences including rape, trafficking girls for sex and conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child, on 8 May 2012 and 10 more were convicted in another investigation in 2015.[1] Forty-seven girls were identified as victims of child sexual exploitation during the police investigation.[2][3][4] The men were British Pakistanis which led to discussion on whether the failure to investigate them was linked to the authorities' fear of being accused of racism.[5] The girls were mainly white British.[5] In March 2015, Greater Manchester Police apologised for its failure to investigate the child sexual exploitation allegations more thoroughly between 2008 and 2010.[6]

The Aylesbury child sex abuse ring was a group of six men of British Pakistani heritage who committed serious sexual offences against two under-aged girls in the English town of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. In July 2015, they were found guilty of offences including rape and child prostitution over a period extending from 2006 to 2012. The child protection charity Barnardo's stated that it had worked with the two girls in 2008 and referred one of them to Buckinghamshire County Council as in danger of child sex exploitation. The council did not respond adequately and, following the convictions, apologised to the two girls for its failure to protect them. It has now instituted a Serious Case Review to examine those failures.[1][2]

The Banbury child sex abuse ring was a group of seven men who committed serious sexual offences against under-aged girls in the English town of Banbury, Oxfordshire. In March 2015, they were found guilty of offences including rape and sexual activity with a child over a period extending from 2009 to 2014. Police in Banbury had drawn on the lessons of Operation Bullfinch, which targeted sexual abuse in nearby Oxford.[1]
The men targeted vulnerable girls using social media to organize parties at which the girls were groomed. The men used gifts and apparent displays of affection towards the girls, winning their trust before initiating abusive sexual relationships. Offences took place in cars, woods and in the men's private homes. Charges concerning seven victims aged from 13 to 15 were included in the prosecution case. The offences were rape, sexual activity with a child and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.[citation needed]
The seven men and one boy were named as:[2]
Name Age Charges
Ahmed Hassan-Sule 21 13 counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of assault by penetration
Mohamed Saleh 22 Two counts of sexual activity with a child
Said Saleh 20 One count of sexual activity with a child
Kagiso Manase 21 Three counts of sexual activity with a child, two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of sexual assault
Takudzwa Hova 21 Rape
Alexandru Nae 19 Rape
Zsolt Szaltoni 18 Rape

The US will be a majority non-white country in the not-so-different future. That is a good thing. Look at this here, I mean, how will we ever fix racism in the US unless we take a cue from the UK's lead, and import savages to kidnap and rape our daughters, and then threaten to arrest and charge with hate crimes anyone criticizing those savages and the police's dereliction.

The Bristol child sex abuse ring was a group of 13 Somali men who committed sexual offences against underage teenage girls in Bristol, in southwestern England.
The men abused and prostituted their victims across Bristol, using hotels, private houses, parks and public toilets.[1] Some were drug-dealers selling heroin and cocaine, while others were described as "well-educated men with good prospects".[1] As in similar sex-abuse cases in other parts of Britain, their victims were typically "vulnerable white girls" who were supposedly under local authority care. The gang coerced the girls into sex with small payments of money, gifts of drugs and alcohol, and by persuading them that having sex with many men was part of "Somali 'culture and tradition'".[3][4][5]
In a police interview, Zakaria referred to two thirteen-year-old victims of one incident of abuse as "dirty slags" who knew that their function was to "suck dick and then fuck off".[6][7] He had trafficked a "small 13-year-old girl" to a "sex party" in a hotel room in Bristol, where he raped her twice in what the trial judge, Julian Lambert, described as a "rough, callous and very nasty manner" and using "significant" force.[8] Zakaria left the girl "totally humiliated and bleeding". The girl was then raped again by Jusuf Abdirazak, whom the judge described as acting "without humanity and with no pity whatsoever".[8]
The Derby child sex abuse ring was a group of men who sexually abused up to a hundred girls in Derby, England.[1][2][3] In 2010, after an undercover investigation by Derbyshire police, members of the ring were charged with 75 offences relating to 26 girls. Nine of the 13 accused were convicted of grooming and raping girls between 12 and 18 years old.[1][2] The attacks provoked fierce discussion about race and sexual exploitation.[4]
The thirteen men lived throughout Derby and the police believed they met through a shared attraction for young girls.[1] The leaders were Abid Mohammed Saddique and Mohammed Romaan Liaqat, both married men with young children.
The victims, aged between 12?18, were predominantly vulnerable girls from troubled backgrounds, and some of them were in care and known to social services.

The Oxford child sex abuse ring was a group of seven men who, in May 2013, were convicted of sexual offences including rape, conspiracy to commit rape, arranging or facilitating child prostitution, trafficking for sexual exploitation, and procuring a miscarriage. Their six underage victims[1] were "subjected to sexual violence marked out by its sadism: sexual assaults designed to draw blood, multiple rapes, [and] physical attacks in which [they were] choked".[2] The girls were white[3] and all the abusers were not, leading to renewed discussion as to whether the crimes were racially motivated and whether the initial failure to investigate them was linked to the authorities' fear of being accused of racism.[4]
In March 2015, a report revealed that more than 300 children , mostly girls from the city of Oxford, could have been groomed and sexually exploited in the area. It accused the Thames Valley Police, then led by Chief Constable Sara Thornton, of disbelieving the girls and failing to act on repeated calls for help, and Oxfordshire Social Services of failing to protect them despite compelling evidence they were in danger.[5] The report also called for research into why a significant number of perpetrators of child grooming are of "Pakistani and/or Muslim heritage".[1]

The Rotherham child sexual exploitation scandal has been described as the "biggest child protection scandal in UK history".[13] From the late 1980s until the 2010s, organised child sexual abuse continued almost unchallenged by legal authorities[14] in the northern English town of Rotherham, South Yorkshire. It was first documented in the early 1990s, when care-home managers investigated reports that children in their care were being picked up by taxi drivers.[15] From at least 2001, multiple reports passed names of alleged perpetrators, several from one family, to the police and Rotherham Council. The first group conviction took place in 2010, when five British-Pakistani men were convicted of sexual offences against girls aged 12?16, but the ringleaders remained at large.[16] Other major convictions regarding child sexual exploitation included one in 2007 of a lone male offender who "abused over 80 boys and young men".[17] From January 2011 Andrew Norfolk of The Times pressed the issue, reporting in 2012 that the abuse in the town was widespread, and that the police and council had known about it for over ten years.[a]
Rotherham Council's chief executive, its director of children's services, and the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Yorkshire Police all resigned.[32] The Independent Police Complaints Commission and the National Crime Agency both opened inquiries, the latter expected to last eight years.[33][34] The government appointed Louise Casey to conduct an inspection of Rotherham Council.[35] Published in January 2015, the Casey report concluded that the council had a bullying, sexist culture of covering up information and silencing whistleblowers, and was "not fit for purpose".[36] In February 2015 the government replaced the council's elected officers with a team of five commissioners.[37] As a result of new police inquiries, 19 men and two women were convicted in 2016 and 2017 of sexual offences in the town dating back to the late 1980s; one of the ringleaders was jailed for 35 years.[38]

The Telford child sex abuse ring consisted of a group of men who were grooming local children for sex between 2007 and 2009 in Telford in the English county of Shropshire. Up to 100 girls are believed to have been affected[1] and around 200 perpetrators were suspected.[2] According to the Home Office, as of 2015 Telford had the highest rate in the UK of sex crimes against children.[3]
In a series of trials stretching over two years and concluding in May 2013,[4] seven men, mainly British Pakistanis, were convicted of sexual offences against four girls aged 13 to 16. The offences included rape, controlling child prostitution, causing child prostitution, and trafficking for the purpose of prostitution.

Call for inquiry
In September 2016, the Conservative MP for Telford, Lucy Allan, called for an inquiry.[7] She said she had had a meeting with a victim of the abuse, who told her that many of the worst offenders had not been prosecuted and were still living in the area. Allan said that she would be asking the prime minister, Theresa May, to take action.[8]
