My dad had a German shepherd we think was part wolf. She was just too savy and smart not to have been. I just got done arguing with one of the stupidest progs I've yet encountered. It's kind of a long story how the discussion led up to this, but she was talking about how she had been learning about Nepal, and how the protest ten percent of the country there only has something like 2% of the wealth while the richest 10% has 40% and how this is the most horrible injustice since ever. I pointed out that in terms of normal distribution that's actually pretty equal, but and she lost it.

She was telling me that it's only fair if any 10% of people control 10% of the wealth, and she couldn't get over this lunacy no matter how much I tried arguing with her. I tried to explain to her what the words "richest" and "poorest" meant and how math actually fucking works, but she wasn't having it. I explained that what she was proposing meant that there by definition couldn't be any "rich" or "poor" people at all and she was proposing an actual hardcore Marxist viewpoint, then she called me a "paranoid rightwinger who sees Communism everywhere", laughed, and practically skipped away thinking she won the debate.

I played the game of Monopoly last week for the first time in 30 years. Like always, no one ever plays it out. Perhaps there are electronic web versions that lets it play out in less than 8 hours. It's still a good game to extent that it lets a player understand some basics about "wealth", like the risk of being house poor. And it's a good game for 24 yo. Load the dice for her and see how generous and understanding she is even with friends and family as the other players.

There should be a couple more "pay tax' squares on the board. And you need the IT help to quickly calculate money on hand plus the owned property value. Tax them both!, to make it real.
