Graphic Video of Fatal Dillon Taylor Police Shooting Shows Him Wearing Headphones, Was Ruled Justified
The district attorney released a short portion when announcing his ruling last summer

Last August, police in Salt Lake City, Utah, where you're more likely to be killed by a cop than a drug dealer or gang member, shot and killed 20-year-old Dillon Taylor, claiming he and his friends were "making a scene" before being approached by officers, who were called about a group of men flashing a handgun.
In ruling the shooting justified, the district attorney, Sim Gill, said "nothing that Mr. Taylor did assisted in de-escalating the situation" and that what he did—he appeared to turn and lift his t-shirt before being shot multiple times—could have "escalated things." At the time, Taylor's brother insisted Dillon was wearing headphones. The district attorney released only a portion of the body camera footage last August when ruling the shooting justified.
Now the entirety of the body cam footage has been posted to YouTube. Warning, it's graphic:
The officer places Taylor in handcuffs before calling for medical assistance. As the officer moves the headphones out of the way while appearing to search Taylor, he asks, more to himself than Taylor, who's dying in front of him, "what the hell were you reaching for man?"
Requiring police to offer medical assistance themselves was one of the "victories" in the Department of Justice's settlement with Cleveland police last month.

"what the hell were you reaching for man?"
*furiously taking notes*
Ok, I will loudly yell that after shooting any intruders in my house.
Won't help when the intruders are Dunphy's SWAT team.
He was reaching for his copy of the USA Constitution... So he could wipe his bleeding butt on it! That is ALL that it is worth, any more!

A hero went home safe that night. That's all that matters.
WTF! The standards for recruits into law enforcement is lower than a pair of balls on a maggot. Why was this p.o. following the kid in the first place?? I've seen a lot in my day, I'm sure all of us have, but this is one disturbing video to watch. Putting the kid's issues aside, he wasn't breaking any laws NOR was he THREATENING anyone!!! No Weapon!! F*** working at a donut shop is a lot more dangerous than being a PO. Get over yourselves. There's a lot of decent PO, more than they're given credit for. It's just too bad the rotten apples have morphed into a rotten orchard.
As for some of the comments posted on Reason, hell, even my toaster has a higher IQ. Holy shit - what a bunch of numb nuts.
What if I told you that you just went on a long diatribe because you missed the sarcasm?
What if I told you that you just went on a long diatribe because you missed the sarcasm?
Your Poor attempt at sarcasm backed-fired for obvious reasons: 1) your comment IS a core belief by both supporters/pigs; 2) Considering some of the comments illustrated here - it's NOT a stretch that your comment would've be taken literally; 3) all of the above.
Carry on!
Actually, Sly, that remark only appears sarcastically in the Reason comments section. If you saw other people using it, they were also likely using it sarcastically.
Unless it was Dunphy.
A sarcastic 'hero went home safe' line is a common trope in the Reason comments section. Although I won't fault you with not being around enough to pick up on it, cause it signals a healthier internet-life balance than most...
Someone let Toni Morrison know racism is over.
You, sir, win one internet.
+1 Milkman Dead
Doesn't meet her standards. This white kid was shot in the chest, not the back.
America ceased being a racist country in November 2008. The election of the Lightworker has cleansed us of America's original sin, and his re-election despite his incompetence guaranteed our salvation. There may be individual racists in this country, but we are no longer a racist country any more than we are a murderous country or a rapacious country.
"we are no longer a racist country"
For this presumption to be true we'd have had to have been a 'racist country' before Obama was elected.
And I suppose we should consider every other nation on earth that has never had a president from its most significant ethnic minority to currently be "racist" as well?
And I suppose we should consider every other nation on earth that has never had a president from its most significant ethnic minority to currently be "racist" as well?
In which case, South Africa is more racist now than it was during apartheid.
And that may in fact be very true.
Nice.
Anything short of complete submission could "escalate things".
"He submitted aggressively and the officer had no choice but to open fire."
You joke. Sagging to the ground in a limp heap is now defined as "violent resistence".
No, I wasn't joking. If they decide they're going to kill you, then they're going to kill you, because they know that the entire justice system will do everything it can to justify their actions, no matter how unjustifiable they are.
Or the video proof.
We've passed the event horizon, people.
DA's don't even pretend to be honest anymore.
That's a bit of honesty, that they're so flagrantly dishonest. Progress. Evil progress.
He dove to the ground, obviously in an effort to hide his gun from the officer's view.
"Sagging to the ground in a limp heap is now defined as "violent resistence"."
As is convulsing in agony while they beat you to death.
Stop Resisting!
GET ON THE GROUND! DON'T MOVE! PUT YOUR HANDS UP!
Submit to all of those at once, or die. Good luck!
WTF is this:
nothing that Mr. Taylor did assisted in de-escalating the situation
First, I don't see the cop attempting to de-escalate anything, so what de-escalation was Taylor supposed to be assisting with?
Second, Taylor wasn't threatening anyone or otherwise escalating anything, that I could see. So, when a cop rolls up on somebody who isn't threatening anyone, and the cop escalates the fuck out the situation, its now the citizen's duty to de-escalate?
Why do I suspect that if I start a scene somewhere, and it gets out of hand and somebody gets hurt, I'm not going to be able to say "Hey, man, nothing that the victim did assisted in de-escalating the situation", so the fact he's dead now is all on him.
I mean, holy fuck, blaming the victim is supposed to be a bad thing, not policy.
Requiring police to offer medical assistance themselves was one of the "victories" in the Department of Justice's settlement with Cleveland police last month.
All that means is the police will write in the report that they immediately gave medical assistance after they prevent anyone from giving any.
Procedures were followed.
"If he didn't want to be killed by the police, he should have done what he was told."
BOOYAH
hth
Requiring police to offer medical assistance
"Fuck that. I ain't going near him. He's got blood all over him."
To borrow the original Pratchett:
Doing something about police openly murdering people for giggles would mean death. Of course, NOT doing something about it also means death (they are murdering random people for giggles, after all), but since it's not immediate, right-this-second death, doing nothing remains the smart monkey option.
smart monkey option

Scenario:
Paul. is in Costco, shopping with his headphones on. Paul. legally carries a concealed weapon. While bending over in an aisle to inspect merchandise, a particularly nervous patron catches a glimpse of Paul.'s concealed handgun in the holster as his shirt lifts slightly above the waistline. She alerts store personnel who call 911, not wanting to confront an armed and possibly dangerous person in their store. Paul. makes his purchase and completes his business in the store a few moments later- not all checkout personnel aware of the situation- and heads outside.
By this time an officer has arrived, pulled near the front of the main entrance to the store and is conversing with store manager and woman who made the initial report. The woman sees Paul. walking out of the store and heading towards the parking lot. She points him out to the police officer. The officer proceeds to move towards Paul., shouting at him to stop and put his hands up. Paul., in the fog of his own thoughts and the music in his headphones becomes aware of some commotion and shouting to his left. Paul. reaching towards his rear waistband quarter to place a folded receipt into his pocket, he begins to turn his head towards the officer, not yet aware that he is the subject of an officer's warning.
The officer now draws his weapon as Paul. has 'refused' not one, but two orders to stop and put up his hands. Paul. is now staring right at the officer with his hands in the right rear quarter of his waistband, arm bent at the elbow, shoulder up. The officer, concerned for his safety and the safety of other store patrons, fires his .40 caliber pistol at Paul., striking him in the neck and chest several times. Paul. dies almost instantly.
The investigation confirms that Paul. was in fact armed and video surveillance also confirms that he was reaching towards his weapon.
Media reports that Paul. was arrested once when he was 18.
Shooting: Justified.
Don't wear headphones in public if you don't want to be killed by the police.
It's just common sense, really.
Also, don't go about your business in your own home if you don't want to be killed in a no-knock SWAT raid that got your address by mistake.
Mainer brings up an excellent point. Don't walk outside, ever run into a cop even accidentally, and also don't stay inside your own home unless you want a cap in yo ass for freedom.
What we need is invulnerable body armor. That way, the cops can shoot at you repeatedly, while you go get a lawyer (also in body armor) and resolve the situation without actual bodily harm to you.
If that worked, they would outlaw it. Both armor and lawyers.
Which is why we need superarmor before it gets banned.
Where is John?
He got his invulnerable body armor and has gone to MNG's house to beat the crap out of him. It's been a secret goal of his for the last ten years.
Why? MNG was the lesser of several weevils.
the lesser of several weevils
a nice one
I don't know, I don't assign nemesis status around here. Ask John.
John concurs.
Wasn't there some move to outlaw soft body armor for private citizens ?
Like "why would you need that, if you aren't up to no good ?"
Nobody needs body armor...
"I have class 4 armor that's impervious to your wimpy American bullets. "
Owning such body armor would be a crime.
Standard operating procedure would be a neutron bomb. Then they can keep the body armor for themselves.
I hear Tony Stark might have something available.
I may have just peed a little bit realizing how entirely possible your story is.
That story actually happened to an Army Officer/ West Point Graduate a few years back.
I fugured that was the story that Paul was referring to.
I believe the Costco was in Oregon?
Never heard of it. I came up with the scenario myself, walking out of a Costco with a concealed weapon and headphones when there was a cruiser parked out front. As I folded my receipt and put it in my back pocket, I thought to myself, "I'm reaching".
I thought you were referencing the case Bobarian and I seem to have recalled: http://www.copblock.org/1004/e.....the-lvmpd/
Check your Costco's rules, Paul, it is my understanding that they ban guns and knives regardless of concealed carry.
I posted a link to what I think you guys were referring to below.
Check your Costco's rules, Paul, it is my understanding that they ban guns and knives regardless of concealed carry.
This does not compute. It's concealed. They'll never know. And if they do and politely ask me to leave, I will.
Lots of businesses I walk into have rules which don't allow firearms. I'll be more don't allow than do.
But I'm gonna carry concealed everywhere except for places where I'd likely be shot or jailed. Like I don't through airports, courthouses, government buildings of various sorts etc.
"But I'm gonna carry concealed everywhere except for places where I'd likely be shot or jailed."
Simply carrying is not enough. You have to be prepared and willing to use the gun, or it might be a liability rather than protection. Walking about in a fog of loud music while a cop gets the drop on you, that's a mistake you can't afford to make.
I can see a rationale for shooting cops on sight. Claiming self defense. Because cops are so trigger happy anymore, it's kill or be killed by cop.
Officer puts the headphone to his ear and finds out the "music" Paul was listening to was a Cato podcast on civil asset forfeiture. Officers empties remainder of clip into Paul and feeds him to the canine unit. Then goes home safely.
Officer logs on to Reason.com as Dunphy the next morning, defends it as a "clean shoot", and pleasures himself to a slightly tattered poster of Morgan Fairchild.
tattered or spattered, amirite ?
"slightly tattered poster of Morgan Fairchild."
Leave her out of this.
This isn't realistic at all. No officer would open fire.
After all, everyone knows that police shootings happen in the passive voice. "The officers gun expelled bullets at Paul." or "Bullets left the hero's weapon of self defense" or "Paul. was struck, of his own volition, by bullets drawn from the officer's firearm."
Cops don't kill people. Bullets kill people. (and dogs)
Nice how one shot can strike a victim in the neck and chest! Whatever it did, the gun only needed one shot to kill him! If it was a neck wound, direct pressure could have saved his life. With what was seen in the video, I could not determine where he was hit. With only one discharge of the firearm, it is impossible for the guy to have been hit more than one damned time! Putting the kid in cuffs, when he was clearly on his way out, is real condemning of our cops actions, nowadays. I would be very afraid to be that cop and keep working!
Good-bye, Paul.
I estimate more than 50% of the population hearing the report on the evening news would say, "good riddance".
You history of violence and thuggery are already making the rounds, even now.
I guess Nashville was the roughest
But I know I've said the same about them all
We received our education
In the cities of the nation, me and Paul
Almost busted in Laredo
But for reasons that I'd rather not disclose
But if you're stayin' in a motel there and leave
Just don't leave nothin' in your clothes
And at the airport in Milwaukee
They refused to let us board the plane at all
They said we looked suspicious
But I believe they like to pick on me and Paul
The governments of enlightened states don't let their citizens endanger themselves and others by permitting them to carry weapons around. This would never have happened here in Massachusetts.
Enlightened states?
Duh. The only option is to ban headphones.
Pigs. Pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs. Fucking pigs.
And the fucking sow at the end asking if the pig is OK. Goddamn.
I'm just going to assume this was cowardly knee-jerk self preservation and not watch someone being killed. Any who did watch can correct me if I'm wrong.
Sadly, you're correct.
If you mean pant-shitting panic fire, then yes.
This. Incompetent cowards that will remain employed by the state to inflict unmitigated violence.
In all seriousness, it's time to take lethal weapons away from cops. There's been all sorts of research into nonlethal weapons for the military, so I'm sure something better than Tasers is available. Those weapons will have their own issues and be subject to abuse, but at least actual killing would be a more obvious problem.
Feature, not bug.
Net guns.
Nerf guns.
Phantom Zone projectors.
Put all the cops i the Phantom Zone?
A directional device that emits the brown noise would have wonderful comic potential.
Actually, other than the yelling, I thought the pigs were eerily and psychopathically calm.
Tell me if this is one (of the many) videos where the cops start giggling, or saying "Booyah" or some other really sick, psychotic evidence that they are super-duper enjoying themselves.
None of that, Hamster. If only this cop had shown a thimbleful of this kind of calm demeanor BEFORE pulling the trigger...
^Exactly. That right there
No, they're just very calm and collected.
Not unlike your average sociopath.
Once you've shot and killed a few folks, it's not a big
deal the next 10 times.
Agreed. Sooo...they're finely drilled murderers.
If only they would hunt progressives.
"Stick with me! Stick with me! Hey! Stick with me!"
*begins shooting him again for failure to obey commands*
You know what would have saved Dillon Taylor ?
Police Boot Camp.
There he would have learned how dangerous and sadistic cops can be, and that knowledge migt have saved his life.
Being born in a safer country?
I should apply for political asylum due to the dangerous, systemic corruption rife in the banana republic to which I was born.
Like a country that doesn't worship state violence as though it were the foundation of civilization, for example.
Good luck finding that country.
The radiation bathed plains of the moon look pretty appealing.
The investigation confirms that Paul. was in fact armed and video surveillance also confirms that he was reaching towards his weapon.
Media reports that Paul. was arrested once when he was 18.
Shooting: Justified.
I want to buy that brave law enforcement officer a pizza. Just as soon as I take a big hit off my asthma inhaler and run into the restroom and change my Depends.
The first lesson cops learn in body camera training is to "establish the narrative" early and often.
*nodding aggressively*
"Stop Resisting!"
a particularly nervous patron catches a glimpse of Paul.'s concealed handgun in the holster as his shirt lifts slightly above the waistline.
Which is why, if I decided I needed to lug a gun around, I think I'd just go ahead and carry it in plain view.
... maybe the fucking volume control on his headphones so he could figure out what the hell was going on ? You know, the thing in his pocket that is clearly visible on the side he was reaching for when he is bleeding on the ground ? The dude pretty obviously has no clue the screaming moron is even behind him until he turns around in a surprised fashion. May your karma find you, murderous thug.
Lesson, just yank your earbuds out, and don't go for the volume on your phone unless you want to be shot (see upthread)
Can we get a summary of we're not supposed to do to avoid being justifiably killed by police?
Live.
If it doesn't fit in a reason comment, can you put it in a pdf in a drop box account or something?
Here's my advice: "Don't".
Whatever it is you're thinking of, just "don't".
Dropbox has a size limit though. Maybe we could just pass around a 64GB thumb drive.
My phone. To call my lawyer.
Keep the Bluetooth in with voice commands active.
It should automatically call your lawyer and go to speaker mode when you say, "This is bullshit!"
Or "ahhhhhhhh!"
"You fuck, you shot me!"
And that's how you kill somebody with absolutely no consequences.
TOTALITY OF THE CIRCS!
*booyah*
"What were you reaching for? Ahh, here it is."
*removes drop gun from inside pocket of tactical vest, places it near suspect's hand*
"Got a gun, here!"
Why go to that amount of trouble these days ? More chance of someone catching cell phone footage of you while you are doing it.
We are way past that point. All that is needed today is the simple statement "I felt threatened" and you walk unless you somehow manage to shoot someone the progressive mob wants to protect and a politician needs to buy some votes. Why should a LEO need actual evidence of threat in this day and age ?
Really. Why even bother? Not like there will be any consequences.
Yeah, that cop who is on video taking his own taser over to drop by the person he just killed,* as far as I know, hasn't been charged or arrested with anything.
I think the only question is whether he's still on paid vacation, or back on the streets.
*While another cop just stands and watches and doesn't even blink an eye at the obvious doctoring of a crime scene.
If I ever find myself in a situation where there's a chance of a cop shooting me, I'm going to the ground immediately. Just drop to the ground, hands out and scream don't shoot. If I've learned anything here at reason, it's that there is a not insubstantial percentage of cops that are just itchin' to kill someone. A rational person would think is that cop yelling at me ? Let turn down my head phones, set down my groceries, hell, just turn around and figure out what he wants. Not realizing the cop is already in shoot to kill default. Any movement, even in obedience, will get you shot. You're in the real world, and he's in a war zone with his finger already on the trigger.
Nah, just dodge the bullets. I saw it done once on Kung-Fu. Actually, I also saw it done in Remo Williams.
Which always raises the question of who would win in a fight between Remo and the Buckaroo Bonzai.
I'm thinkin' Shiva, Destroyer of Worlds, edges out Buckaroo. But just barely. I mean, Buckaroo isn't Korean or Korean trained.
Fuckin A, bubba
They really need to do a The Destroyer TV series, without any PC adjustments. It would drive the SJWs so wild--I bet they wouldn't miss a single episode.
It would be hard for them to decide between that or Fox News.
Have you read The Destroyer books? They couldn't be more offensive to an SJW if they were written specifically for that purpose. Why, you could make a mint just selling smelling salts so that they could be pulled out of their faints in time to watch the next episode.
Can you provide an amazon.com link? I haven't heard of them.
Here's the first one: Created, The Destroyer. I think it's free for the Kindle version right now. There are a ton of these books. They're like literary popcorn.
Bang! Bang! "Why were you diving to the ground!"
NOT ENOUGH. You also have to not ever go shopping for pellet guns or carrying an airsoft gun or driving a car that backfires or ....
Why the hell did he have his gun out and pointed at the kid while he still have his back turned? How was the kid possibly a threat?
What a joke. That these cops not only don't get prosecuted for murder, but they also get to keep their jobs is beyond me.
Read this and understand (and weep):
http://www.thenation.com/artic.....indict-cop
Tennesse v Garner
Graham v Connor
"The Graham analysis essentially prohibits any second-guessing of the officer's decision to use deadly force: no hindsight is permitted, and wide latitude is granted to the officer's account of the situation, even if scientific evidence proves it to be mistaken."
Hence the all purpose, " I perceived a threat". No throw down required, just the officer's perception at the time.
" I perceived a threat".
I'm a psycho who imitates panic fire.
That unnamed, inindicted and union-protected cop is precisely the type of valuable asset people like Edward Snowden irresponsibly endanger. Republicans take note.
How to not get your ass kicked by the police
If we lived in a just world, this cop would be _____________.
Serving 20 to life.
doing my dishes
Sucking his pistol barrel off to .40 caliber climax, in front of a horrified crowd of onlookers..
Painting my trim.
Wearing orange.. in an ISIS video..
Given "the boats."
tried before a jury of his peers?
What good is being tried before a jury of cops going to do?
required to approach every policing situation by yelling "I HAVE MURDERED AN UNARMED TEENAGER!"
Or maybe just require him to wear a patch on his uniform showing that he has killed, and age of the individual.
Charged with 2000vAC@10A for 60 seconds
"what the hell were you reaching for man?"
He wasn't. You ordered him to take his hands out of his pants and when he did you fucking shot him!
Were the Officers cleared by a Grand Jury or did the DA determine is justified without going to a grand jury? I've seen articles each of these, those the vast majority do not reference a Grand Jury.
The modern function of the grand jury is to legitimize injustices perpetrated by the DA. That's why modern grand juries are merely captive of citizens selected on the basis of assumed pliancy.
It's time to bring back the inquisition.. they'll never suspect it..
Never call the police
If plumbers had qualified immunity I wouldn't call them either.
That link was unfair. What a nutpunch.
I don't see what the big fuss is about. I've been reliably informed by the media that the deceased's life doesn't matter.
Exactly, if only he had been black.
#blacklivesmatter
His life, not so much.
Never heard of it. I came up with the scenario myself, walking out of a Costco with a concealed weapon and headphones when there was a cruiser parked out front.
Wow- it is eerily similar to a real event, at a real Costco. I was thinking Vegas.
Yup, I remember that one.
Bobarian said that above. Now I'm googling it to find it. It wouldn't surprise me though.
Here it is:
http://lasvegassun.com/news/20.....gun-didnt/
This one is more contentious.
At least there are claims that he was aggressive and acting erratically in the store.
There's some evidence that Scott attempted to comply with this order, which caused the police to shoot him.
There must be an acknowledged or tacit "I killed someone" cop club that cops want to get into.
We'll find out it's some little pin or something that we don't think of, like the little license plate attachments that get people out of tickets.
It's amazing how different the comments on this sad story are here compared to the comments on other websites, both right and left wing. It's a shame but we're way outnumbered and things aren't going to really change for the better until that changes (which it looks like it might not ever do).
Yep, like I said, more'n 50% will say "good riddance".
There was an episode of WKRP that explained this well, even though it was meant to be a joke. As Herb explained to Les, there are two types of people in the world - suits and dungarees. Suits view dungarees as a threat.
Okay, now the names have changed, replace hoodie with jeans/dungarees, but it's still the same. So when someone who dresses like a thug gets killed, they are relieved.
Things I'd like to see (but won't do myself):
A website, with a map showing every police shooting, that links to a page with the name and photo of the cop(s) who did the killing, and maybe links to media coverage of the shooting.
It would be interesting for the residents of any town to know who the killer cops are, what they look like, etc.
The pig sounded terrified when he was yelling for the kid to take out his hands. I actually do believe the pussy feared for his life. Heroes.
This video needs to be watched by as many cop-suckers as possible. I got teary-eyed, and then very, very angry watching this man twitch and choke on his own blood. This fucking disgusts me, and this bullshit needs to stop.
I don't even understand why the cop started following and shouting at him. That was brutal murder, the poor guy couldn't even here the cop.
How dare he listen to an audio book!
So he was trying to turn off his player, rather than just pull the phones out of his ears?
natural selection in action
The video plainly shows the victim refused to obey the policeman's order to stop dying. The officer may have been tripping on LDS and had a mystical vision the atheist camera didn't catch. Best to keep a copy of this just in case another Joseph Smith or Mitt Romney type runs for president on a platform that says "The initiation of force is good, necessary and justified, and banks are people too."
I see this as an unfortunate incident, but probably not as Black and White as the rest of you. In the video you can here Taylor saying "No Fool" in response to the cop's demand that he put his hands up. Then it looks like he reaches into his waistband. To me it seems that he heard the cop and was deliberately goading him.
I am NOT the type to automatically side with authority, but I will give them some leeway in situations like this. Still a shitty situation. That video was very difficult to watch.
The real problem is people getting hysterical about guns and calling the police.
This guy was basically set up to be killed. If the police are called and told that so and so has a gun and is waving it in a threatening manner, then the police are going to take that caller at their word and assume the guy does have a gun and is dangerous.
Should they? In an ideal world, but in the real world they are poorly trained, not so bright people who shoot first ask questions later. Unless we are willing to spend the money and resources to train them much, much better, then this is going to happen. And we aren't.
"The officer places Taylor in handcuffs before calling for medical assistance"
He asked for medical assistance at :43, cuffed the suspect at :47.
Easy to miss.
My best friend's mother-in-law makes $85 hour on the internet . She has been out of work for 5 months but last month her pay was $16453 just working on the internet for a few hours.
Visit this website ????????? http://www.workweb40.com
I hardly ever, if ever, side with cops on controversial situations like these. But I believe the cop was justified in this unfortunate situation. Kid says "no fool" when told to stop and put his hands up. Has his back turned to the cop and is walking away digging into his waistband and the cops were at the seen because of reports that he was flashing a handgun around. Then he turns around and is still digging in his waistband, while not complying. I'm sorry, but I don't blame the cop after watching that body cam.
*scene
How come everyone defending this cocksucker says that the guy walking AWAY from him presents a threat? How is disengaging threatening behavior? Now sure, if he had a gun, he could attack from range, but did he have a gun? Um. No. I didn't see one, the cop didn't see one, all the cop had to go on was "furtive movements" and he executed a guy for it. Fucking disgusting.
The American people need to feel safe. To do that they will rationalize anything the cops do.
See lockstock above. It's sick.
Video doesn't show much of anything.
Krayewski's remark about likelihood of being shot by a cop is extremely stupid, not to mention slanderous - practically everyone shot by a cop is a criminal. I'm no criminal and therefore very very unlikely to ever be shot be a cop. Krayewski is one biased SOB, making arguments only
a fool would believe. Kick this guy off the website - he's incompetent.
Glad you're happy with occasional homicide of innocents by police as long as most victims have been previously arrested.
To call this justified is insane, and the fact that I'm unlikely to personally be a victim is not how I set my moral compass.
The victim was unarmed except for an iPod, and made no threatening actions except lowering its volume, and his last words hardly seem worthy of summary execution. Walking around listening to loud music and getting pissed when someone bothers you is not justification for a fatal shooting.
The video I saw showed that the cop shot some one that he didn't have to shoot who bleed to death because the cop was more interested in handcuffing him than providing medical assistance.
Perhaps we can solve the problem of the biased SOB who wrote the story by waiting until he goes walking in the park while listening to his music. A report from a concerned citizen that he was acting irrationally and brandishing a weapon should should solve your problem, and get one more cop in the club.
I watched the video and felt the need to create an account to comment. This is absolutely horrifying and is so obviously a case of murder. The video makes me sick. After watching the dude swim in his own blood I realized the could easily be any of us with headphones in our ears gaping for breath. I am normally pro police but this has really shocked me at the corruption and accuse of power that is possible. Disgusting.
