Tonight on The Independents (Fox Business Network, 9 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. PT, repeats three hours later) we begin where both the 114th Congress and the fresh new issue of Reason magazine start from: with a policy agenda for 2015. What will be on the Indies/Reason wishlist of utterly achievable federal goals? Stay tuned tonight, and—what the hell, take a look here, at reason.com/policyagenda2015.

On to help with the dreamcatching are Party Panelists Charles W. Cooke (National Review) and and Joe DeVito (the wonderful/terrible world of comedy), who will also assess the failed coup against re-elected House Speaker John Boehner, the state of Connecticut coercing a 17-year-old to undergo chemotherapy, and the state of Colorado engaging in kinder, gentler pot propaganda.

Did you know that the FBI has been using decoy cellphone towers called stingrays to hoover up your metadata? Well sure; you read Reason. But the latest news is that the agency is brazenly telling Congress that it does not need warrants for such behavior. We'll discuss. Also, Kmele Foster will give us an update on what President Barack Obama is doing, or trying to do, with the remaining inmates at Guantanamo Bay. And Kennedy will defend herself from the Media Matterses of the world, who are upset that she used "slut-shaming" and "Dodd-Frank" in the same paragraph earlier today.

Fox News Supreme Court analyst Shannon Bream will be on to talk about that magical two-phrase pairing: "Bill Clinton" and "sex scandal." Comedian Jimmy Failla will run through the weather, Chris Christie's football fandom, and Harry Reid's broken face; then you can watch the whole thing come unraveled on the online-only aftershow, at foxbusiness.com/independents.

        The singularity is upon us...

  2. Trouser-Pod   10 years ago

Poor Kennedy-getting crapped on by those intellectual reprobates at MM.

They really should just change the name of that shit-heap to "Massa' Matters", seeing how much they love their government overlords.

    1. Heroic Mulatto   10 years ago

The "hrumph"-ing in the comments on the Media Matters site is hilarious.

      1. Trouser-Pod   10 years ago

I would like to agree with the "hilarious" description, but, I just can't.

They're just so tedious in their statism. My eyes actually did start to kinda glaze over, and I got the hell outta there.

        1. Heroic Mulatto   10 years ago

Think of it as hilarious in the same way the Joker finds murder hilarious.

          1. Notorious G.K.C.   10 years ago

I'm still getting Mark Hamill being the Joker - and such a good Joker, too!

What are the losers crapping her on?

      1. Trouser-Pod   10 years ago

Well, it's everything from her intellect, to it being on Fox, to "it's a spot-on analogy for businesses" vs. "it's such a weak analogy"...all the shit that U.S. leftists trot out any time someone in the media doesn't like a law or regulation that the Holy Federal Government enacts.

      2. Grand Moff Serious Man   10 years ago

She said, very tongue-in-cheek, that requiring companies to disclose the ratio of pay between the CEO and employees was 'slut-shaming'.

HM is correct that the outrage in the comments is hysterical.

Islamocrazies discover Mia Khalifa; between fapping sessions, threaten to behead her.

Are those "don't get it in my eyes" glasses, or does she always wear them?

      1. C. Anacreon   10 years ago

She's hot, but I think she'd likely be even better looking without the breast implants.

But apparently everyone wants big fake boobs in porn nowadays, I guess? (It's been awhile for me to look due to the side effects of my chemotherapy, nuff said).

        1. AlmightyJB   10 years ago

I like her boobs but a nose job was probably needed more.

        2. Pl?ya Manhattan.   10 years ago

Fuck Islam. The thing is awash with a billion dictators and and isn't worth a basket of old biscuits.

I give this woman props for her middle finger up Mohammed's ass. May Lebanon's collective rectum prolapse. Rock on, Mia!

  4. PapayaSF   10 years ago

I find it fascinating that Jeffrey Epstein had 21 phone numbers for Bill Clinton. What's up with that? Landlines in different homes? Assistants? Mistresses? One assistant with a briefcase full of cellphones? What does Hillary think of this? I suppose she's just cursing that, once again, Bill's dick has gotten in the way of her political ambitions.

    1. Trouser-Pod   10 years ago

Dayum! I hadn't heard that it was 21 (or, any number). That IS interesting.

      1. Trouser-Pod   10 years ago

Maybe he's a coke connection, or something similar?

      2. PapayaSF   10 years ago

Maybe some are old, but I can't imagine Bill is always changing numbers to escape creditors or angry husbands or whatever.

        1. Trouser-Pod   10 years ago

Slick Willie-always ready with them digits.

    1. GILMORE   10 years ago

And yes, Heaton - this is a 2minH8 entry

  6. Francisco d'Anconia   10 years ago

    What is different about Kmele?

    Haircut?

    1. Trouser-Pod   10 years ago

      That would be my guess.

    2. C. Anacreon   10 years ago

Looks like he got his forehead extended.

  7. Hyperion   10 years ago

Fuck Boehner, orange piece of shit. Flush that turd.

    1. Copernicus   10 years ago

The moment I saw that fucktard crying when he got the Speakership first time, I knew he was going to be a giant turd sandwich.

The Independents Attire Review, 06 January 2015

    Chuck Woolery is a Gangster-Edition

    - Kennedy: "The Thing"/aka "Irish Field Hockey Team Captain" (yes, you were promoted from a 'sweeper') There are those who say that green "en-pales" her. We share those views, but think this shade (esp. with the pink lippy) is actually a frogtastic match w. her 'lady of the lake' skintone. +3-croaks of approval.

    - Matt: oooh. Our favorite purple tie, with a *lavender shirt* (dramatic swoon, crashes through glass table, is revived with smelling salts)... and... navy suit.... (smashes though second glass table, everyone walks away in disgust) We never thought we'd see something so effortlessly perfect. We weep that it took so bloody long. Is this *perfect* shirt-tie pairing better with the Navy or Grey suits? We think this is probably as good as it gets, but encourage repeat showings with the other suits.

    - Kmele: Shazaaam! Everyone is bringing their A+ game tonight (*we rate "The Thing" for its novelty). We like the maroon tie best with the 3-piece, but our second favorite look is when he brings 'shades of grey' in various combos (*competing with his 'khaki+brown tie' thing).

Kudos to everyone tonight = Even the party panel is pimping hot. Matt takes a second stunning victory with the mad purple-swag.

      Re: Kmele

I still can't be down with the pocket square plus lapel pin combination. 21st century sprezzatura suggests one or the other. But not both.

      1. GILMORE   10 years ago

He responded directly to this point *extremely* early on in the attire-reviewing process (like, feb of last year), basically saying, "I have lots of lapel pins/tie clips/hankies" and uses all as often as possible with no regard for any 'balance'

He openly admitted he overdoes that stuff, but that 'that's how a dude rolls'. Can't fuck with that.

        1. Heroic Mulatto   10 years ago

Agreed. If he's cognizant of it and claims it as a style signature...that's dope as fuck. It wouldn't be for me, but I can respect it as a "Kmele thing".

    2. Sevo   10 years ago

      "- .... .- -. -.- / -.-- --- ..-"

    OT

So I found the G Gordon Liddy vs. Timothy Leary debates. I liked Liddy's description of how people become prison guards.

    http://youtu.be/wQ_Je7FOqfw?t=14m26s

His autobiography is great. He busted his appendix while competing in a beer-drinking/sit-up contest and missed the Korean War. He was stationed with an air defense unit near NYC. They were supposed to use their high-powered binoculars to spot Russian bombers, but they mostly used them to look for naked ladies standing next to windows in apartment buildings.

    1. GILMORE   10 years ago

I have never listened to gordon liddy, but would be open to checking out some of his books.

I suspect he has exaggerated his crazyness for the last 20+ years since its pretty much how he pays the bills. people like him are few and far between.

      1. Derpetologist   10 years ago

My problem with him is, if he was mad Team Blue was playing dirty, the principled thing to do would have been to expose the corruption, rather than help someone else play dirty.

But he had this belief that he and Nixon were part of the Thin Derp Line that stood between law & order and a communist takeover.

  13. Hyperion   10 years ago

So, I hope that these fake cell tower power grabs, are not anything that they hope Progotgards are concerned about. Only libertarians are concerned about these things. Progtards love this, they love being spied on, they love being fucked up the ass, they are submissive sheep.

        2. Agile Cyborg   10 years ago

The Euler diagram of the "terror mom" and "progtard" sets show considerable overlap.

    3. Trouser-Pod   10 years ago

It's worse than submissiveness-these people actually want the intrusions out of fear that they won't be safe without them.

        Patriot act?

      2. GILMORE   10 years ago

I think early after 9/11 people in government started saying things i still hear echoes of today in the NSA apologists and others....

....like "you should watch what you say", and "what do you have to hide"?

more recently - as much as i generally dislike Adam Kokesh - the fact that the following was what happened because he *posted a video* of himself holding a shotgun in Washington DC...

"On the evening of July 9, a U.S. Park Police SWAT team raided Kokesh's house in Herndon,Virginia, executing a search warrant for the shotgun and raw footage from the July 4 video. With helicopters providing air support, officers knocked then kicked in the door and lobbed a flash grenade in the foyer, filling the house with smoke. Masked police clad in body armor stormed in and handcuffed Kokesh and his housemates, who alleged mistreatment during the raid and the ensuing five-hour search, which allegedly turned up the shotgun and Psilocybin mushrooms. Kokesh was charged with possession of Schedule I or II drugs and possession of a gun with Schedule I or II drugs, both felonies

What disturbed me most about the story?

Was that the Parks Department has a SWAT team.

        1. GILMORE   10 years ago

Oh, and that the above raid? resulted in a court case which recommended "2 years probation".

You'd think maybe the could have just phoned him up and told him to come to court?
