  1. What, pray tell, does capitalism have to do with our mass incarceration fetish?

    1. Crony capitalism does. Unfortunately, no matter how many times you tell a prog they should be pulling the weed out by the roots to make it stop growing back, they’ll just stare in dumbfoundment. They just can’t reconcile the fact that the government they would have take care of the poor and the government that throws said poor people in jail for victimless “crimes” are one and the same.

      1. That would be corporatism, then.

        1. Agreed. I’m just saying that’s what’s going through their heads. They see corporatism as capitalism, no matter how many times you try to drill into their heads the difference.

  2. What’s the Huffpo line? “We’ll talk about prohibition reform and mandatory minimums after our guy leaves office”? Or is it “He’s done everything he can! Holder issued a memo!”?

    1. My progressive acquaintances blame the private sector for prohibition and mandatory minimums. Really. It’s almost as though any thought that government could be wrong (except on abortion) caused their brains to crash.
