Republicans Drop Plan To Tie Debt Ceiling Increase To Restoration of Military Benefits
Plan doesn't have enough support
House Republicans are abandoning their plan to lift the debt limit and restore military pension cuts due to flagging support from the rank and file.
The announcement was made Tuesday morning in a private GOP meeting.

Of course they should drop the connection of the two.
It would be like saying "if you don't spend money, we won't let you spend money"
"We will only raise the debt ceiling if you promise to increase spending faster."
Because of course they wouldn't actually cut anything less offensive.
"You military people don't need money that we agreed to pay you... but those bums who haven't looked for a job in 2 years do."
Maybe we should start a satire webpage where we just re-write political statements so they say in plain English what they really mean.
