Real Cover-Up of CIA Activity at "Phony" Benghazi Scandal
CNN reports extensive measures being taken to prevent leaks on Benghazi

The Obama Administration has been publicly pushing the idea that questions about the administration's actions and truthfulness in regards to last year's attack on the Benghazi consulate was a "phony scandal."
In private, though, it appears the Administration is working very hard not to have any information contradicting their claims to truthfulness from coming out. CNN is now reporting that "dozens" of CIA employees were on the ground in Benghazi at the time of the attack. Here's what the Administration is doing to try to keep that fact under wraps:
Since January, some CIA operatives involved in the agency's missions in Libya, have been subjected to frequent, even monthly polygraph examinations, according to a source with deep inside knowledge of the agency's workings.
The goal of the questioning, according to sources, is to find out if anyone is talking to the media or Congress.
It is being described as pure intimidation, with the threat that any unauthorized CIA employee who leaks information could face the end of his or her career.
In exclusive communications obtained by CNN, one insider writes, "You don't jeopardize yourself, you jeopardize your family as well."
Let that last statement sink in. It ought to be a familiar tactic.
CNN's exclusive, of course, is not the first mention of CIA involvement in Benghazi. The second part of the Benghazi attack was on the CIA annex in the Libyan city. The CIA apparently was not sure how the attackers knew about the facility in the first place.
Paula Broadwell, the intelligence officer-cum-palace journalist whose affair with David Petraeus ended the general's career as CIA director, believed the CIA annex in Benghazi was a secret prison and that the attack was a jihadi jailbreak (something we've seen from Iraq to Pakistan in recent months).
President Obama and administration officials, of course, chose to blame a video, something that was known to be patently false very early on in the aftermath, both to US officials on the ground and anyone who was paying attention and had half a clue. The latest revelations about the extent of the CIA presence in Benghazi on September 11, and the extent to which the administration is trying to prevent it, at least provide some minor insight as to why the Obama Administration was so committed to the lie of the video.
I argued a few months ago that the answer to Hillary Clinton's question of "what difference does it make?" what the facts on Benghazi are is that it betrays a complete disregard for truthfulness from this administration to the public. That continues.

So this administration is going full Stalin.
Yup. Though I have to admit, I find it hard to dredge up pity for people who willingly went to work for a known spy agency and then have secret spy shit come back to bite them in the ass.
Still, good to know the administration is as thuggish as we've always thought it to be.
Just like every other administration for the past 100 years, except now with more thuggery!
"May I take your order, please?"
"Yes, I'd like a regular administration, but with extra thuggery and a side of incompetence. Plus a large glass of fuck you that's why."
Well we're all out of Fuck You, That's Why... we didn't know there'd be such a RUSH!
I dunno, Argo was pretty cool.
We've always been at war with Libya.
We've always been at war with Libya Liberty.
FTFY
any unauthorized CIA employee who leaks information could face the end of his or her career.
Oh no, not that.
Also, isn't everyone who's not an actual CIA employee an unauthorized CIA employee?
any unauthorized CIA employee who leaks information could face the end of his or her career.
That's what they say. But much like with the wimminzfolk, pay no attention to what is said, only what is done:
Edward Snowden: charged with espionage, which IMSMC, is punishable by death.
Now now. The threat from Stalin wasn't to end your career, it was to end your life.
I am a pathetic man; my first thought was literally "what's the difference?"
Stalin didn't lie about it?
...yikes. That is pathetic!

It's not just a phrase.
They just murdered Michael Hastings and I'm sure there have been many more.
How are Andrew Breitbart and the coroner who did his autopsy doing these days? Oh yeah, still dead.
It was a spontaneous street protest about a blaspheming youtube channel. Curse you first amendment!
It couldn't possibly have anything to do with that strangely secure building that americans drag the locals into randomly, never to be seen again...
It couldn't be a secret CIA detention center in Benghazi because those had all been shuttered in an effort to end the dark chapter of US foreign policy of the Bush years.
BOOOOOOSH
Baby steps... baby steps.
Children grow up faster than this. I know because I watched mine grow up and start doing things their way.
This is actually the one thing about the scandal that actually pisses me off. The President and the entire Administration lied to the American people for a month about this at least. The media enabled the lie and in Candy Crowley's case abetted it outright, and NO ONE GIVES A SHIT.
Even Raimondo believed it.
For a site called AntiWar, Raimondo sure drank deep the administration's cup of propaganda.
Big shock. We're the ones who regularly call the Administration murderous and express outrage over Putin's behavior, but yeah we're the Orange Line Cocktail Party Throwers.
Truth as a virtue in politics has been gone for quite some time now. No one cares about lies. They care about TEAM, they care about KULTUR WAR, and they care about their pet causes. They don't care if they're lied to. If it's their guy lying to them, they shrug and move on because TEAM. If it's the other TEAM's guy lying to them, well, they expected that because in their minds the other TEAM is completely full of evil, lying scum anyway.
Truth doesn't matter for shit to a large segment of the population; or at least, to the media.
Truth as a virtue in politics
I laughed too hard to read the rest.
Translate that as "people caring whether politicians lie". It used to be that being caught lying could get a politician in a bunch of trouble (hello, Bill Clinton), but that seems no longer to be the case.
Oh, yeah, ok.
I don't know when, specifically, that ship sailed, but I think it was about the time Facebook became popular.
Fucking Facebook.
Mark Zuckerberg ruined the world. Mark Zuckerburg is a Jew.... therefore,
JOOOOOOOOZZZZZ!!!!!!!@1!1!11!!!!!!1
Anyone really believes when reading his interviews that that dude can run a company or code?
I'm amazed at the total lack of shame expressed by politicians when caught lying . A normal person would quietly go away when caught lying/cheating, but a guy like Weiner is running ads about what a tough NYer he is by not quitting the mayoral race.
A guy like Jay Carney is just a whore and I can even understand that.
But a guy like Obama has to be a sociopath or psychopath to so brazenly lie, and do things like demagogue the rich while he takes $10 mil vacations every couple of months.
Well then they come out after that month and insist that they had said it was terrorism all along.
These guys are really, really good. They make a simple lie so convoluted that 90% of the country doesn't even know what the argument is about.
They make a simple lie so convoluted
That just means they're bad at lying.
Know how you get home drunk and your wife starts asking you all these questions, and you just start throwing shit out there, and then the next morning she plays it back from her cell phone she had recording and it sounds absolutely fucking retarded?
It's kinda like that.
No no, Overt, remember they "called it terrorism" that very next day. Just ask respected news correspondent and debate moderator Candy Crowley.
Now if you raise the fact that Administration flat lied for a month to the American People, you're just a RWNJ with a Benghazi obsession. It seriously makes me want to pop.
You let your womenfolk have a cell phone? Next it'll be shoes and a job! Do you also pay your orphans a living wage, anon?
The weight of incompetence and corruption of this administration is inevitably going to come crashing down on Team Obama. The best they can do is drag it out and deflect, deflect, deflect.
Unless they can drag it out long enough and get out of office.

"Unless they can drag it out long enough and get out of office."
And then Hillary will claim it was all Bush's fault. And get elected.
Who's going to stop them? Congress? The media?
Well, BOOOSH has been doing a pretty good job, according to the media.
Never. It can't. Obama is the first black prez, and that's the end of the story.
Never. It can't. Obama is the first black prez, and that's the end of the story.
FTFY. I don't think first is relevant. As long as the POTUS aint a white man or a republican, the POTUS will be worshipped as a living God.
I'm wondering why they don't blame any evil doings on his white half.
Their enemies are equally incompetent, so the repercussions are not likely to be anything close to the trouncing they deserve.
I'm having a hard time believing these levels of incompetence and corruption can co-exist. At a certain point, corruption has to get rid of incompetence to get more power/money/whatever.
TL;DR, when do we get to watch them start killing each other?
When Tina Turner rules D.C. and introduces a more...creative...way to settle differences.
If CIA personnel told me the sun would rise in the East tomorrow, I'd wake up before dawn to make sure.
Also, I think we're being too hard on Obama. I mean, he's not as bad as FDR.
Yet.
Just wait till we repeal that 22nd amendment!
I'd be down for a constitutional convention. I'd gladly give the 22nd amendment for the 16th and 17th.
Ditto that.
I'm not so sure. I think the 16th would join the 18th in that fantasy land of "We used to need an amendment to do this, but not anymore."
Look, the Obama administration and Shreek say there's no scandals. So it must be true.
Of course. To them it's not a scandal, just business as usual.
"" The CIA apparently was not sure how the attackers knew about the facility in the first place.""
Erm. I'm not sure that that's the most insightful read on the facts, or on the statements from the CIA.... Its more a claim of ignorance to avoid ever even suggesting that they knew immediately that this was a planned event, conducted by people who knew of the connection between State and CIA in the Benhgazi area...didn't like what they were collectively doing (shipping guns to Syria?)...so @*(#$@# tried to kill the lot of them. *slightly* inconsistent with what the official narrative from Obama and Hilary was.
Its just trying to continue to obfuscate the obvious connection between Stevens and the CIA op. There's meat on that bone, and everyone knows it, and the CIA must consequently play stupid in the extreme to keep questions at a minimum.
the CIA must consequently play stupid in the extreme
Going with their strengths, I see. Good plan.
I'm starting to wonder if this is why that fat ugly pig Monica Lewinsky is suddenly being dragged back into the news now, almost 15 years after everyone stopped giving a crap about her.
The lefty media is all aboard the Hillary for President bandwagon, and they're already strategizing and planning how they're going to get her elected. Benghazi is the biggest thing that can potentially sink her candidacy, and I have a feeling we're going to get a lot of Monica Lewinsky and the old bimbo shit thrown back in our face as a shiny distraction from the real scandal of our guys being left out there to die to cover up their nefarious misdeeds.
Wait, is the Obama "Truth Team" a real thing?!
Art Vandelay| 8.1.13 @ 7:24PM |#
"Wait, is the Obama "Truth Team" a real thing?!"
Wasn't there a web site that supposedly countered lies about Obozocare? And then it shut down since there weren't many lies?
I could be just confusing some of his lies.
i know... were they really marketing themselves as 'more credible and honest?' What a hjokhenever ive raised the subject of Obamas serial-falsehoods and distortions, ive been smugly told by progressives, "Presidents lie = get over it." Wherein now *being a good liar* is in fact a core-strength of the Dear Leader. And were they confronted with The Truth Squad-marketing would see no contradiction at all...
"ive been smugly told by progressives, "Presidents lie = get over it.""
Yep, hopey, changey is hopey that sleazy shitbag is a bit better than Bush and turns out worse.
"Get over it!"
There's a bumper sticker I see (rarely) in SF: "He won. get over it". I want to use the wick pen to add "Yeah, and we lost".
The current incarnation of the Ministry of Truth.
The goal of the questioning, according to sources, is to find out if anyone is talking to the media or Congress.
Holy shit.
Haha! Even the CIA is dumb enough to think Congress offers any oversight function.
The CIA is really playing the "we don't know how they found us card"? Hilarious! First of all it's like 30 white guys at one house in the middle of a dark skinned country. Second they were there buying up weapons so they could ship them to Syria. The annex was never a secret.
Third, according Petraeus' chick, the CIA was holding AQ suspects there. Were the torturing them? Or trading them for weapons? Kind of a reverse Iran-Contra.

The story as I understand it was the CIA believed these guys were spies
they were 'freed' in October

Uh, I knew CIA was involved when Rand Paul asked about an annex on the compound and Sec. Clinton responded, "You'll have to ask the individuals who ran that part of the compound."
Color me surprised.
The individuals who we are hiding from you...
". . .subjected to frequent, even monthly polygraph examinations,. . ."
Uh, you'd think, given its history, that the CIA would know that polygraphs work poorly at best and not at all on sociopaths.
This makes a lot of sense dude.

I think we basically know what was going on.
1. The Obama adminsitration was secretly arming the rebels, which included some Islamic extremist groups.
2. American-made weapons supplied to the rebels fell into Al-Qaeda affiliated hands.
3. The CIA was in Benghazi to track down and recover those weapons.
4. Al Qaeda used said weapons when storming the compound, thus allowing them to kil lthe ambassador.
4. The Obama adminsitration doesn't want anyone to find out that it accidentally armed Al Qaeda in a way that emabled them to attack and kill our ambassador.
Sorry hazel, that's a little muddled
"...a source told Fox News that Stevens was in Benghazi to negotiate a weapons transfer, an effort to get SA-7 missiles out of the hands of Libya-based extremists. And although the negotiation said to have taken place may have had nothing to do with the attack on the consulate later that night or the Libyan mystery ship, it could explain why Stevens was travelling in such a volatile region on the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks

the CIA were buying back SA7s, MANPADs from Libyan groups, and smuggling them to Syria. The suspicion is that opposition to the program may have prompted other interested parties (Russia? Syria? Iran?) to send their own proxy jihadists to nix it. The 'arming al Qaeda' thing is a bit of a dumbed down oversimplification used by TEAM RED media to turn it into 'Obama is the terrorists friend' theme. Sure, there are plenty of 'jihadists' amongst rebels who probably were closer to Al Q than boy scouts... we supplied them in Libya and then the same in Syria. The point is not 'who' we were arming, but that we had a constant hand in arming anyone at all. i.e. covertly fomenting the overthrow of governments, shitty or not.
Isabelle. if you, thought Christine`s postlng is really cool... on sunday I got a brand new BMW M3 from having earned $5665 this-last/4 weeks and in excess of 10k this past month. this is really the most comfortable job I've ever had.
