Schools in Newtown, Conn., were placed on "lockdown" today after a phoned-in threat, stirring fears for the community that in December was the site of a massive school shooting that killed 20 students and six staff members.

Cody McCubbin, secretary of the Newtown Board of Education, told ABC News that the district received a "call-in threat" today.
