Unions Upset With Unexpected Consequences of Obamacare
Unintended doesn't mean unforeseeable

Nancy Pelosi said Congress had to pass Obamacare to find out what was in it, and the legislation's supporters, including many of the country's largest unions, seemed just fine with that arrangement. Now that they're finding out what's in it, they don't like that some of the consequences were unexpected (but not unforeseeable).
When President Obama pushed his health care overhaul plan through Congress, he counted labor unions among his strongest supporters.
But some unions leaders have grown frustrated and angry about what they say are unexpected consequences of the new law -- problems that they say could jeopardize the health benefits offered to millions of their members.
The issue could create a political headache next year for Democrats facing re-election if disgruntled union members believe the Obama administration and Congress aren't working to fix the problem.
"It makes an untruth out of what the president said, that if you like your insurance, you could keep it," said Joe Hansen, president of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union. "That is not going to be true for millions of workers now."
Last month, the Roofer's Union, which endorsed Obama in 2008 and 2012, called for the full repeal of Obamacare. Peter Suderman explained earlier this year how Obamacare ends up undermining unions.

Ha fucking ha. Welcome to the real world, you union blood suckers.
This is where the horsetrading starts. Both republicans and democrats will offer up fixes to Obamacare that favor the right blocks of voters. Everyone else gets fucked.
And let's not forget that the right blocks of donors get the biggest rewards.
Doesn't matter. Social security is killing the country and FDR is still one of the most popular presidents in history.
Any WWII history shows FDR to be criminally negligent in transferring power to Truman; most just state the facts and leave it at that.
But some, notably Miscamble ("From Roosevelt to Truman", 2007) are beginning to at least make note of the sleazy behavior.
Hey! Are you going to the LPF convention this wknd?
You passed it to find out what's in it, assholes. Now ya know, and I hope you choke on it.
Unexpected? you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Inconceivable!
My name is Inigo Mentoya. Your death panel killed my father. Prepare to die.
"It makes an untruth out of what the president said"
Getouttatown.
It makes an untruth out of what the president said, that if you like your insurance, you could keep it,"
Notice the use of language. Obama didn't lie to us, but the circumstances in how this has rolled out, and Congress' refusal to 'fix the problem' has turned what Obama said into an Untruth.
There are the words that Obama said, minding their own business, just sitting there in their unqualified truthiness. Then these circumstances came along and turned them INTO an untruth! It's unseemly in its unscrupulousness.
Man, one gets the impression these people can't admit that they fucked up with they pulled the lever for Obama.
How many members?
Ok, ok, you might have Obama's attention. The last union that complained only had 20,000 so they were told to go pound sand.
They will just get their waiver and go back to be pig-ignorant foot soldiers for TEAM DONKEY.
The real question is "how much?"
As in, "how is much are you willing to contribute to the Obama Perpetual Campaign Machine?"
Something about shitting where you eat.
Something about continuing to vote for Democrats no matter what because Democrats.
Awww, I'll bet you believed him when he said he loved you before he fucked you in the ass.
