Brickbat: We Don't Need No Education

Berry College, a private liberal arts school in Georgia, has sued the Tennessee Higher Education Commission after the agency demanded money to allow it to advertise in the Volunteer State. Berry officials rented a billboard outside Nashville to promote the school and got a letter from the commission demanding the college register as an educational institution in that state, which would cost $20,000 a year, or it would be fined $500 for each day it advertised on the billboard. The lawsuit claims the commission is infringing on the school's First Amendment rights.
