See Matt Welch Today/Tonight on RT, GBTV, and Red Eye
Today at 4 pm ET, technology willing, I will be appearing on RT (check your local listings!) to talk about the foreign policy views of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky). At 6 pm ET, I'll be on GBTV (check your local listings!) to talk about Paul, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida), drones, Iran, and entitlements. Then at 3 a.m. ET, I'll be on Fox News's Red Eye (check your local insomnia!) to talk about drones, cults, cops, racism, and Chris Rock, not necessarily in that order.

Please ask Beck about his planned Libertopia city he will lord over with its morality approval council for media, no big box retailers, and strict zoning laws.
The show I'm on does not feature Glenn Beck.
Perhaps you could speak with his effigy a la Clint at the Republican convention. Instead of an empty chair it could be a clean chalkboard.
Or, more desirably, you could appear on each of these shows with different facial hair. That if you want your friends in the comments sections at H+R to ignore the substantive content of your appearances.
Very good.
I respect hate. LPers are very hateful. I hate Beck. I also hate Gutfeld, that little sawed-off POS. I also hate Michael Moore even more than Gutfeld.
I suspect the Gutfelds of the world all think liberals are like Michael Moore. But in reality the Ayn Rands and Hayeks should be hated as well (by conservatives).
Hate is great.
Hey Welch! #TFT
Don't feed the trolls.
You are a coward.
I will never be a conservative. Go recruit elsewhere.
But would you go gay on a dare?
Hey shriek! It's Thursday! Go curl up in a corner and cry that Glenn Beck won't send you nudes!
He sends you nudes of the little Becker?
Why bring that up?
I don't fucking care.
Why bring that up?
I don't fucking care.
Cause you whine about Glenn Beck like bitch thirsty for the ol' sausage.
Love the RedEye - DVR it every night. Catch you tomorrow, Matt - REPRESENT.
I suspect Red Eye is scripted to a degree. They are just all too fast with a quip. And it is just quip after quip - never does someone just go off on a weird, long bender.
Maybe they edit 90% of it out though.
The topic intros are written (obviously, given the wordplay), but the rest of the show is spontaneous and presented as taped, with only slight trimming around the edges. We know the topics ahead of time, and give general senses of our take via email, but that's it.
(That's the way most, but not all, cable TV works--they'll give you the topic ahead of time, you'll give them a framework of a take ahead of time, and everything else is live.)
What I'm holding out for is the Reason reality show. Reality shows are scripted, of course, but they seem like they aren't.
Any five random members of the Reason Commentariat would probably make a better TV show than over half of what appears on network television.
You'd have political commentary, obscure pop culture references, lots of snark, inside jokes, swearing, a few commentors showing off their specialized technical knowledge, lots of drinking, and crude sexual banter.
I meant the staff, but a drug-addled commenter that's never actually seen on camera (? la Carleton the Doorman) could work.

So John, then? He can be our "Bill Schulz", yeah?

FIFY
Only banter? WEAK
If Warty drew an episode it would be full on penetration of the producers and interns. But we could only air that episode in Germany, or save it for the uncut DVD.
You want a show about a group of people who hang around getting into flame wars about abortion and the Middle East?
What, that's worse than what's out there now?
It works well on Red Eye. The hand offs seem very spontaneous.
They are. And Gutfeld's hilarious at them.
Gutfeld is a wonderful little gremlin. He's unique, and that's saying something in this world.
So are you, Matt - ROCK THE GLASSES, FEEL THE POWER, BRUH.
Matt, seriously, please don't respond to the sockpuppet. You just encourage it. If you ignore it, it hates that. And as we all know what the word needs is more hate.
You are no doubt an expert on hate. I note your expertise as a misanthrope.
Do you also drag your ass on other folks carpet?
But the sockpuppet says he respects hate.
RT or RT America. I'm trying to watch online.
Insert a squiggle over the first period so it looks something like this: ?. Thanks.
I like turtles.
Wait, that's Tosh.O. Never mind.
What RT show? Abby Martin?
I look forward to the purple and yellow tie.
Here's a little tid-bit of information you might find useful: Illegal immigrants, by and large, are extremely unlikely to agree with libertarianism.
The relevance is almost poignant.
^Matt must be continually responding to PB to drive the commentariat up the wall
