“Watch: President Barack Obama’s Announcement of Gun Control Measures”

I’d rather watch a Mastiff take a shit.

    1. NeonCat   12 years ago

      In 3D.

      1. Unindicted Co-conspirator   12 years ago

        In my hat.

    2. ChrisO   12 years ago

Unlike Obama, the mastiff is producing a potentially useful product.

  2. albo   12 years ago

Looks like he’s got everything he needs for the press event, the kids, the parents, etc.

But he’s clearly missing one thing–a bloody, size small shirt to wave at his opponents, who obviously only want to see children die.

  3. Fist of Etiquette   12 years ago

Those kids look indifferent to the diminishment of their liberties.

    1. carol   12 years ago

The kids would look much cuter wearing neatly pressed brown shirts.

      1. nicole   12 years ago

        And so matchy-matchy!

        1. carol   12 years ago

It is never to early to teach children how to group think.

      2. C. Anacreon   12 years ago

The kids would look much cuter wearing neatly pressed brown shirts.

In the still photo of the video, the boy in the blue shirt does look like he is wearing a little brown top hat. Could that work?

  4. The Immaculate Trouser   12 years ago

I’m not inclined to watch shit leaving the wrong orifice, but anyone else want to take a stab at summarizing his proposals?

  5. LTC(ret) John   12 years ago

I can sum up in one one word.

    OBEY.

    1. LTC(ret) John   12 years ago

      Er, *one*

    2. mr simple   12 years ago

      Eleven?

      1. NoVAHockey   12 years ago

        no .. that’s banned. 10.

        1. LTC(ret) John   12 years ago

Ah, you did something that I saw. There.

  6. mr simple   12 years ago

    No thanks, I just ate.

  7. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

Speech can be more dangerous than guns. The Nazis basically talked their way into power. Will he be signing any speech restrictions into executive diktat?

    1. Episiarch   12 years ago

Soon enough, ProL, soon enough. And his supporters will cheer him on.

      1. $park?   12 years ago

So this is how liberty dies…

        1. Hugh Akston   12 years ago

          Meesa people gonna die?

          1. RBS   12 years ago

            Goddamnit Hugh.

            1. Episiarch   12 years ago

Hugh always goes too far. He has no sense of proportion. I think he might be autistic.

              1. Groovus Maximus   12 years ago

No sense of proportion indeed. We in the trade call that “polymorphic”. You do know that the anime Akira was a documentary about Hugh?

Hint: Hugh inspired the character of “Tetsuo”.

                1. C. Anacreon   12 years ago

Do they still have the Journal of Polymorphic Perversity?

              2. Hugh Akston   12 years ago

Gungans no dyin’ witout a fight. Wesa warriors.

                1. NoVAHockey   12 years ago

what are you all on about? must be some movie I never saw.

                  1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

Sounds like something Jamaican. What was that Jamaica movie Denzel Washington was in?

                    1. Groovus Maximus   12 years ago

The Might Quinn, Pro’L Dib. You now officially suck. And are a racist, too.

                    2. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

                      That’s it!

    2. Fist of Etiquette   12 years ago

You know who else basically talked their way into power?

      1. Episiarch   12 years ago

        Your mom?

      2. LTC(ret) John   12 years ago

        Genghis Khan?

Oh, wait, I thought you said killed their way into power. Sorry.

      3. Paul.   12 years ago

        Larry King?

      4. Fist of Etiquette   12 years ago

        The Nazis?

      5. Tim   12 years ago

        Henry Higgins?

      6. Contrarian P   12 years ago

      7. Bam!   12 years ago

        Obama?

        Consolidated Edison?

  8. Lord Humungus   12 years ago

reading the new gun laws, er, they look to do nothing to solve “the problem.”
    http://vaviper.blogspot.com/20…..ntrol.html

    stuff like:

    18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.

    19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.

    20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.

    21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.

    22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.

    23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.

    1. Episiarch   12 years ago

I told you there would be nothing with teeth. Obama will fuck his supporters once again, and they will take it as they always do. It’s his one redeeming feature.

      1. John   12 years ago

It really is. It doesn’t make up for his existence. But watching his supporters have to bend over and totally admit that anything and everything is great as long as “Obama does it” has been really enjoyable.

      2. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

Ah, little do you know that “National Dialogue” is the codename for the domestic drone program.

        1. John   12 years ago

Obama only drone strikes you because he cares Pro.

          1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

Oh, I know that. Death by Disposition Matrix is really a blessing.

            1. John   12 years ago

              He makes it with love.

              1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

                The Droney Man can.

                1. Rasilio   12 years ago

You know, that sounds like the perfect next project for Remy

                  1. Greg   12 years ago

It might be a little too close to the traditional favourite “The S&M Man” to catch on properly. The murders are probably more graphic too.

        2. C. Anacreon   12 years ago

“National Dialogue” is the codename for the domestic drone program.

That’s why Obama said he plans on “launching” it.

      3. NoVAHockey   12 years ago

they’re hanging their hope on shaming the House into a AWB.

      4. Dagny T.   12 years ago

It is like they have a generator for this stuff. So many ways to say so little.

    2. Dagny T.   12 years ago

      resource officers

What is that even supposed to mean? Because I am tired of thinking about this ongoing collective jerkoff session, I will instead recall how the special needs kids at my high school used to go to the “Resource Room” for homeroom or to get some extra help or whatever. So we started calling them Resource Kids, which then soon morphed into a generic insult. Another “R-word”!

      1. Episiarch   12 years ago

        Romper Room?

So how many times did you have to go to the Resource Room?

        1. Dagny T.   12 years ago

All the time, but that’s just because I was banging several of the more choice retards. ‘Tard strength can be used in one’s favor, you know.

“Some of these retards are extremely clever.”

      2. nicole   12 years ago

Oh Dags, I have something for you. Enjoy, I know I did!

        1. nicole   12 years ago

That so deserved to be SFed. here.

          1. nicole   12 years ago

In which I remember why chrome is stupid. Sorry.

            1. Dagny T.   12 years ago

I see you are as relentless in seeking out pain as I am. One good turn deserves another, so here. It’s great how he sees people gunning (derp) for one of his favorite things and throws gun rights under the bus. The naked admission that it is all projection based on what he’s afraid he’d do is a nice touch too.

              1. nicole   12 years ago

The naked admission that it is all projection based on what he’s afraid he’d do is a nice touch too.

Yeah, I’ve been, uh, enjoying that a lot lately…

              2. Killazontherun   12 years ago

Bipolar or self obsessed crap hole? Or, is there a difference.

            2. Randian   12 years ago

              WTF did I just read?

              1. nicole   12 years ago

        Whoops. #8.

  9. Restoras   12 years ago

Children as human shields. Completely repugnanat and disgusting, and not at all surprising.

  10. Warty   12 years ago

    1) Those poor children.
    2) President Backpfeifengesicht.

    1. Groovus Maximus   12 years ago

      It’s the Ritalin.

  11. iggy   12 years ago

I don’t know why you guys keep making fun of Obama. He’s a great intellectual, haven’t you heard?

Appealing to emotion at every opportunity is what intellectuals do, right?

  12. Paul.   12 years ago

So, with magazine limit restrictions, we make it official federal policy that from now on, our precious tots are expected to engage in hand-to-hand when the gunman enters the classroom with four 7 round magazines.

Ok, kiddies, here’s what a magazine change should sound like… RUSH RUSH RUSH!

    1. John   12 years ago

Wait until you hear the magazine hit the ground and then charge him!!

    2. Hugh Akston   12 years ago

Where else do you expect them to get the pile of corpses to stand on for the next round of ineffectual gun controls?

  13. Tim   12 years ago

Is trotting out the kids any worse than using poor Gabbi Giffords? He’s probably saving her for the State of the Union.

    1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

What about the slut who wants free birth control pills? Where is she now, the Senate?

      1. John   12 years ago

On the rubber chicken circuit. It sucks when the party no longer has use for you.

        1. Pro Libertate   12 years ago

Oh, they have a use for her.

    3. Anonymous Coward   12 years ago

I eagerly await the day when the so-called “Tea Party” Republicans just stand up and walk out of the State of the Union.

    4. Greg   12 years ago

Don’t talk that way about our next President, Tim

  14. rts   12 years ago

    I haven’t seen this posted yet…

Will gun control advocates put a sign on their lawn declaring their homes free of guns?

    1. Paul.   12 years ago

Meh, no more than as a gun owner, I put a sign on my front lawn saying “Guns inside”.

      1. rts   12 years ago

Sure, but I love the cognitive dissonance. I’m willing to bet that the ones that say (something like) “I wouldn’t want to put that up, it’d be like an invitation to someone with a gun” are also the ones pushing for schools to be gun-free zones, and then can’t understand why the crazies go there.

        1. Paul.   12 years ago

Don’t get me wrong, I think the video was informative.

      2. Brett L   12 years ago

“This house protected by Smith & Wesson”

      3. Scarcity   12 years ago

My Dad has a sticker on his front door that says “The owner of this property is armed. There is nothing inside worth your life.”

        1. Killazontherun   12 years ago

Mine just says, ‘here kitty, kitty.’

        2. Suthenboy   12 years ago

Ha. My father has a sign on his door that says ” Be sure and bring a bucket so you can carry your own ass out with you when you leave”.

        3. Paul.   12 years ago

After being broken into twice in six months, I started to conssider ‘deterrent’ signs, but I was actually conscious about putting any sign up that indicated I owned guns, or guns may be on the property– especially when the burglars were careful to execute their crime when no one was home. So I started playing with possible wordings:

“There are no guns on the premesis, the owner carries them with him at all times and keeps a highly irregular schedule.”

        4. mad libertarian guy   12 years ago

Trespassers will be shot; survivors will be shot again

      4. Killazontherun   12 years ago

It isn’t a matter of equivalence. Unlike you, their advocacy nullifies their right of self defense. Which makes them the lowest form of life this side of lemmings.

    2. Paul.   12 years ago

      But, good video.

    3. Suthenboy   12 years ago

What the fuck did I just see? Was that a parody or were those people serious in the start of that video?

Bob Schieffer goes complete retard and compares Obama’s crusade against the NRA to taking down the Nazis.

    1. Anonymous Coward   12 years ago

Sure Bob Schittfer-brains compares you to Osama Bin Laden, segregationists, and Nazis, but remember, we have to keep political discourse in America civil.

Gabby Giffords and the children would want it that way.

    2. ChrisO   12 years ago

Somebody forgot to change Bob’s Depends, apparently.

I am way past the point of even being able to tolerate the sound of his voice, let alone watching the stupidity emanate from his purple lips, with those clownish jug ears… Gawd, I really despise that POS.

He may or may not be the closest potus to Lincoln on behavior, but he sure is the closest to his equal in ugly.

  20. ChrisN   12 years ago

I’m thinking turn our veterans into public home health care workers with student loans, then unionize them, and then on the gov’t payroll allow them to check for guns. They will also have forms to accept cash for clunkers while they do their work on national park land. Lots of diversity and gender requirements, but citizenship requirements

It will be like the TSA meets the DMV and we won’t have to frack. No more killing trees cause it will all be digitized, our technocratic and political class smoothly overseeing our lives and the money supply.

No more guns, 0% unemployment, no more racism and a perfect balance with the environment. Total equality.

    Get on board!

    1. Hyperion   12 years ago

  22. Zombie Jimbo   12 years ago

    Nice annotated summary:

    http://phelps.donotremove.net/…..ve-orders/

    Highlights:

    1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.

Tell the government to follow the law.

    2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

Tell the regulators to stop the stupid and useless regulations.

    3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.

Pay the states back for the unfunded mandates that the Feds keeps making.

    4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

Tell the Attorney General to do his job.

    5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.

Start another unfunded mandate. (See #3.)

    1. ant1sthenes   12 years ago

No, I believe number 2 is referring to nullifying law by fiat. which should result in impeachment, if we weren’t already a lite dictatorship.

      1. Hyperion   12 years ago

        Sorry, penaltax, that is all.

  23. ChrisN   12 years ago

Or in the words of the New Yorker, the NY Times, and the legacy media:

You want to be civilized don’t you? Support the President. He’s the President, and fair’s fair. Don’t resist.

Don’t you read? Don’t you want to make craft beer in Brooklyn or be part of the creative economy? Red Hook is almost safe. It’s gun-free and if you weren’t so racist, those gangbangers would have a chance at Harvard in just 10 short years if we engineer the right policies.

Do you hate equality? Do you hate your racist hearts? Do you hate your economic excess as we careen toward planetary doom?

    Do you hate the future?

    Gaaarrrrgh!

I do hope this is the full power of the progressive beast.

May it slumber and unionize. May it sleep and dream of other new entitlement schemes. May the light of universalist humanistic social democracy dim in its eyes as they shut to sleep in the bosom of the democratic party.

There’s a button behind its head marked “de-activate.” here somewhere.

Unite, men, and push it back from whence it came.

Drive it back into Vermont, into the Bay Area, Brooklyn, and Boulder.
Drive it back into the bowels of the EPA, HUD, and many a faculty lounge.
Drive it back into dens of many a Chicago ward.

    Begone foul beast!

With Joe Biden, I feel as though I could be Borked at any time.

I feel like I’m buying a used car, and Obama’s the floor manager Joe’s gotta go talk to.

I feel like I’m on an Amtrak, with $8.00 cheeseburgers.

I feel like I’m at an old-timey union rally up there in Scranton, and ol Joe’s pounding the table with his fists again.

But with Obama, it’s totally not like that:

I feel cool, because he’s cool.

I feel like I’m part of a team, where I pay the taxes, and he redirects the taxes.

I feel like I can finally expiate my racial sins, and link up arms in a community outreach programs and candlelight vigils from the safety of my suburban home.

I feel like the future is just around the corner.

So reasonable. So moderate. Such a family man!

I feel like I’m buying a used car, and Obama’s the floor manager Joe’s gotta go talk to

I’m sorry, I missed this Obama event. Was it by chance a memorial to the 200 Afgani children killed last year by Obama’s drones? Haven’t they written letters asking for a change in government policy?
