Scott Smithwick says Gwinnett County, Georgia, police refused to believe him when he told them the indoor growing system he set up is for growing tropical plants, not marijuana. After they'd twice searched his home and found no pot, officers still threatened to arrest Smithwick. "The sergeant told me based on (the) fertilizers and the lights in the room, I could be charged with manufacturing marijuana and held without bond and sent to prison," Smithwick told an Atlanta TV station.

I doubt the copper would care. It’s not like he would be in any way on the hook for that, besides whatever part his taxes add to the county coffers.

After two strikes, Smithwick really should set up a surveillance system in his home that streams the video to a secure server in another country. The next time the cops come to harass him, they’ll be sure to bring something to drop at the scene to justify beating him up.

Using it in court is not the only purpose it could serve. Publishing it as widely as possible to expose the corruption can sometimes result in crooks getting bounced of the taxpayers’ teat.

Mrs. Smith’s kindergarten class was handcuffed and strip searched today because of their inexcusable use of pipe cleaners. The crying children told the officers that they were using them to make crafts but the police were not fooled by that obvious ruse.
