Borders Agents Shoot Man Who Was Throwing Stones

Incident occurred during anti-drug smuggling operation

NOGALES, Ariz., Oct. 12 (UPI) -- A U.S. Border Patrol agent shot and killed a man suspected of throwing rocks at agents who stopped smugglers carrying marijuana into Arizona, authorities said.

The intruders fled back across the border to Nogales, Mexico, after U.S. federal officers converged on a smuggling operation in progress Wednesday in Nogales, Ariz., the Los Angeles Times reported.
