Nanny of the Month for July 2012!

Forget the London Olympics, you'll find the fiercest competition stateside, where faces new and old vied for the title of "Nanny of the Month."

Proving it can ruin just about any good idea, the Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously to ban the city's medical marijuana dispensaries, and a North Carolina pol who claims baggy pants are "a part of a culture that breeds drug sales, drug addiction, crime, and murder" is itching to regulate precisely how much sag his constituents may bust (no more than three inches below the waist).

But this month we find the busiest of bodies in the nation's Garden State:

Imagine getting pulled over for a seatbelt violation. Imagine it cost you $1,000 and six months in the clink. Imagine the cause of this was your failure to buckle up your pooch.

Welcome to New Jersey.

About a minute long. "Nanny of the Month" is written and produced by Ted Balaker; opening animation by Meredith Bragg.

Are you f*cking kidding me? Its a DOG. 6 months in the clink for not buckling up a DOG? Every voter in NJ should get bitch slapped with 2x4. Yes, even the Libertarians. Those who still live there need to get smacked for not having the sense to move the hell out there.

Restrained dogs are easier to shoot.

When driving it is really important to use our seat belts. It is for our own safety also.

  4. Public Citizzen   13 years ago

It isn't about safety it's all about state sponsored extortion.
$1000 a pop and whatever else they can hang on you from the traffic stop with the dog being the excuse that gives them a legal fig leaf.

  5. Homple   13 years ago

People who let their dogs loose in their cars while driving are idiots, devoid of common sense, careless of their own safety and that of others, and don't take good care of their automotive upholstery, either.

What we have here is another nanny state joke attempting replace intelligence and common sense with legislation.
