Reason.tv: Dennis Kucinich Talks Marijuana Legalization at Hempfest 2011

"It's not a radical position at this point in American history to say that decriminalization or legalization ought to occur," says U.S. Representative Dennis Kucinich (D-OH).

Reason.tv caught up with Kucinich at Seattle's 2011 Hempfest, where he spoke with Nick Gillespie about the political feasibility of drug legalization, whether or not there is bipartisan support for it, and whether or not politicians who've smoked pot should say so in public. 

Hempfest is an annual festival that started in Hempfest in 1991 when a gathering of supporters came together to protest the government's prohibition of marijuana. Every year the protesters have returned in solidarity seeking a change in the nation's marijuana policy.

I will say this - Dennis Kucinich is the absolute most polite, decent politician I've ever met. Batshit crazy, off-the-chart whacky, but a decent man.

We've had a ton of politicos visit my facilities over the years - it's always my job to meet with them. Hands down, Kucinich was the most-decent of all of them. Truly nice person. The rest? Mostly Machiavellian fucks around whom we were very careful...

So - for whatever THAT's worth, kudos, Dennis, for being almost human!

Uh, I live in Ohio, and Kucinich is more like Bernie Sanders. He probably agrees with Ron Paul only on the drug war.
