California's Long Beach Contemplates A Special Tax on Medical Pot
As the entire state of California gears up for its November Proposition 19, which could legalize and tax adult pot sales in general, Long Beach thinks about joining Oakland in hitting the medical variety with a special tax to help cope with its $18.5 million deficit. Pot should be legal and tax Free!
It's not like Long Beach is out in the ocean somewhere like Catalina. People will just buy it in a neighboring town, like Lakewood.
This stupidity will end up being a net minus.
This hasn't been Oakland's experience - where you can walk/drive/bike to another non-Oakland dispensaries in under 30 minutes...

How is that possible with your debilitating medical condition?
Long Beach : L.A. :: Oakland : S.F.

Reason is only for the taxed weed to fund those important government programs and reward our grossly under-compensated selfless public servants, or hire more of them or something.

Regulate us! Tax us! Set us free!
Stop taxing medicine!
Here we go. The Real Libertarians oppose treating pot like alcohol, because its better to have cops kicking down doors and shooting people and their dogs than compromise your principles by showing ID and paying an excise tax.
Food and Pharmaceuticals should be tax free, like they are in Maryland and Texas.
No, we're opposed to treating it like Oxycontin.
