Ride Free, Free Like the Wind!
I love L.A. more than Randy Newman, but this week's cold and rain combined with this grim report on the state of two-wheels-good liberty in my hometown makes me question my allegiance.
From the L.A. Weekly, here's the grim axle on which injustice rotates in the city of angels:
Until recently, Los Angeles Municipal Code 26.01 was little known. But then in August, the police department began to enforce its central tenet: All cyclists shall ride licensed bicycles; those who do not will be cited and fined. Upon learning of the LAPD's accelerated enforcement, the city's cyclists flooded bike blogs with outrage, saying that the code was "ridiculous," designed "ultimately to prevent bikes in our car-obsessed city … for harassing cyclists."
The story goes on to tell of a particular bike-rights advocate bringing his complaint before the city's Transportation Committee. He had been ticketed under 26.01, and
fined in the amount of $160, payable only in person at the Los Angeles County Superior Courthouse…the ticket cannot be corrected with an online payment [and] only two stations in the entire city are authorized to sell bike licenses (Central Station, near Skid Row, and the Department of Public Safety, near USC), and only on certain days (Tuesday and Thursday), and only at certain times (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.). Bike licenses are not available online (as one bike blogger pointed out, even bingo halls can be licensed on the Internet), and many of the officers at the eligible stations are "reluctant to find the bike-license box" and "don't even know what's going on."
Some bikers are planning a campaign of civil obedience to make the city think twice, involving
large coordinated excursions on successive Tuesdays and Thursdays to the LAPD's Central Station — swamped as it is with reports of rape, theft and narcotics crimes — for riders to register their bicycles and purchase a license … for $3. Said one participant: "The watch commander had to work pretty hard not to be pissed off that we were taking up his time with this petty B.S."
A libertarian for over 20 years, and I can still get shocked by some of the incredibly petty things about which government's can claim the right to regulate and license. Thank you, L.A., for restoring that old fashioned sense of wonder--wonder at what goofass petty tyrants governments can be.

LoneWacko, unmasked!!!
Public roads are just that...public roads. I have the right to know that your bicycle is in good working order when you take the streets and potentially put my life in danger. These criminals that don't obey Municipal Code 26.01are no different than any other criminal that refuse to obey the law. You won't be so flippant about your little anarchistic utopia when someone's chain gives out and his bike runs in to yours!
I love L.A. more than Randy Newman
You love L.A more than Randy Newman does, or you love L.A. more than you love Randy Newman?
I love L.A. more than Randy Newman, but this week's cold and rain combined with this grim report on the state of two-wheels-good liberty in my hometown makes me question my allegiance.
Here in Chicago, we just got dumped with up to ten inches of sleet/snow, the high temp on Sunday is supposed to be 8?F, and our governor just got arrested for trying to sell a certain senate seat (you may have heard about it; I think it made national news).
MEANWHILE, you're whining about a little cold and rain and bicyclists' rights. Man, you Angelenos are pussies...
You love L.A more than Randy Newman does, or you love L.A. more than you love Randy Newman?
Clearly, since we all love Randy Newman, it must be the latter.
"A libertarian for over 20 years, and I can still get shocked by some of the incredibly petty things about which government's can claim the right to regulate and license."
Try living with what some unregulated corporation could impose on its wage slaves, you fucking ignoramus.
[Insert Vulgar Marxist Stimulus Response Here]
Gimme yer fuckin' money, civilian!
Fucking Cleveland Heights requires bike licenses. Speed traps every half mile don't bring in enough revenue, apparently.
Are the adults forced to wear bike helmets in L.A. yet? Or just The Children??
A campaign of civil obedience? Why didn't my namesake think of that?
I've always thought that the state authorities should do something sort of related with medical marijuana laws: Since medicinal use of marijuana is a violation of federal law, the state authorities should arrest the medical users the same way they'd arrest counterfeiters or interstate kidnappers or something. And drop them off at the office of the busiest federal prosecutor they can find.
"OK, Mr. US Attorney, this guy here has a colostomy bag. You'll need to change it regularly. And the AIDS patient has some sort of infection in his skin and he's getting some oozing sores. Oh, the guy on chemo might vomit periodically. Anyway, I have several more vans coming. Just doing my part to enforce federal law. What? Take them to my jail? Sorry, can't do that. There's no provision in state law that allows me to prosecute them. These dangerous people would wind up on the street if I tried that! So I'm bringing them to you. Anyway, good luck! And get ready for the next van to arrive!"
Noam Chomsky on libertarianism
The American version of "libertarianism" is an aberration, though-nobody really takes it seriously. I mean, everybody knows that a society that worked by American libertarian principles would self-destruct in three seconds. The only reason people pretend to take it seriously is because you can use it as a weapon. Like, when somebody comes out in favor of a tax, you can say: "No, I'm a libertarian, I'm against that tax"-but of course, I'm still in favor of the government building roads, and having schools, and killing Libyans, and all that sort of stuff.
Now, there are consistent libertarians, people like Murray Rothbard-and if you just read the world that they describe, it's a world so full of hate that no human being would want to live in it. This is a world where you don't have roads because you don't see any reason why you should cooperate in building a road that you're not going to use: if you want a road, you get together with a bunch of other people who are going to use that road and you build it, then you charge people to ride on it. If you don't like the pollution from somebody's automobile, you take them to court and you litigate it. Who would want to live in a world like that? It's a world built on hatred.19
The whole thing's not even worth talking about, though. First of all, it couldn't function for a second-and if it could, all you'd want to do is get out, or commit suicide or something. But this is a special American aberration, it's not really serious.

Nobody reads your cut and paste screeds, troll.
this week's cold and rain
Don't worry, I don't see any snow on the mtns, so everything's OK now!
Say, if the bikers were smart they'd do something that would work: embarrass those behind this idea on video, put it on Youtube, and try to have an impact on their careers. Is Reason suggesting they do that? Of course not. Reason just wants to whine.
Every person in my family has received a moving violation in the last few months. And we're sensible, middle-aged, normal drivers. Like normal drivers, we don't always come to a total and complete stop at stop signs, we sometimes exceed the posted speed limit in our residential neighborhood, etc. We've lived in our neighborhood about 15 years, and have attended school/worked in the neighborhood for almost 25 years. None of us has ever had a ticket until now, even when we were learning to drive in this neighborhood, and were presumably at our most hazardous and inexperienced.
I received a parking ticket, as well, near a trailhead where I've parked without comment for 10 years.
Our combined ticket totals for the last 4 months are well over $1000.
We are guessing that government coffers are absolutely empty. People with clean, well-maintained cars on the road at rush hour are a rock-solid source of cash.
I would assume that cyclists in full (expensive) regalia represent another source of easy, easy money.
Oh, and I live in Los Angeles. Almost got a little snow, too. Maybe about 150 feet too low.
Gee, as a resident of a nearby beach community, I wonder if I would have to get a license to ride my bike into L.A. Or any other city with a similar law. Or is it a case of one registration fits all California cities to avoid multiple licenses? Jeez.
Lefiti - shit due, if you quote that whack job Chomksky - what a fucktard you are. He's a 'blah, blah, blah' ivory tower idiot who's never done a real day's work in his life.
On to the article - yet another reason California is refered to by Brignell at Numbers Watch as the great state of insanity. What kind of asshole city council member EVER thought this was a good idea?
Oh well - guess the tryants are keeping up their work. After all, EVERYONE has to be guillty of some kind of crime.
Lefiti - shit due, if you quote that whack job Chomksky - what a fucktard you are. He's a 'blah, blah, blah' ivory tower idiot who's never done a real day's work in his life.
You are a moron if you think Chomsky "never done a real day's work in his life". I mean you don't have to like his politics that he did tons of work in linguistics.
Almost got a little snow, too.
Let's hope not.
P.S. Any Reason contributors can feel free to hand that picture out to any women they meet at ComicCons and the like for use when they get lonely.
Well in San Diego, we're still going after head shops( With ICE officals in tow, no less..)
It would be nice if they switched to bicycle enforcement.
I make it a point to disregard any argument that starts with "Well, everybody knows..."
Make a specific, logical argument or shut up.
Wasn't there a story of that quadraplegic guy who died in prison from something just like this?
Nuts...ClubMed beat me to the insult.
Nevertheless, here in the Land of Palin the typical bike ride brings the risk of being mauled by bears or stomped to death by moose. You L.A. dwellers are a bunch of weenies.
Noam Chomsky on any political point.
Only slightly less enlightening than a high colonic.
Okay, I apologize for the cut and paste, but this is really worth reading:
I'm assuming you know who Ron Paul is. And I'm also assuming you have a general idea about his positions.
Chomsky: Here is my summary of Mr. Paul's positions - He values property rights, and contracts between people (defended by law enforcement and courts).
Under all circumstances? Suppose someone facing starvation accepts a contract with General Electric that requires him to work 12 hours a day locked into a factory with no health-safety regulations, no security, no benefits, etc. And the person accepts it because the alternative is that his children will starve. Fortunately, that form of savagery was overcome by democratic politics long ago. Should all of those victories for poor and working people be dismantled, as we enter into a period of private tyranny (with contracts defended by law enforcement)? Not my cup of tea.
He wants to take away the unfair advantage corporations have (via the dismantling of big government)
Chomsky: "Dismantling of big government" sounds like a nice phrase. What does it mean? Does it mean that corporations go out of existence, because there will no longer be any guarantee of limited liability? Does it mean that all health, safety, workers rights, etc., go out the window because they were instituted by public pressures implemented through government, the only component of the governing system that is at least to some extent accountable to the public (corporations are unaccountable, apart from generally weak regulatory apparatus)? Does it mean that the economy should collapse, because basic R&D is typically publicly funded -- like what we're now using, computers and the internet? Should we eliminate roads, schools, public transportation, environmental regulation,....? Does it mean that we should be ruled by private tyrannies with no accountability to the general public, while all democratic forms are tossed out the window? Quite a few questions arise.
He defends workers right to organize (so long as owners have the right to argue against it).
Chomsky: Rights that are enforced by state police power, as you've already mentioned.
There are huge differences between workers and owners. Owners can fire and intimidate workers, not conversely. just for starters. Putting them on a par is effectively supporting the rule of owners over workers, with the support of state power -- itself largely under owner control, given concentration of resources.
He proposes staying out of the foreign affairs of other nations (unless his home is directly attacked, and must respond to defend it).
Chomsky: He is proposing a form of ultranationalism, in which we are concerned solely with our preserving our own wealth and extraordinary advantages, getting out of the UN, rejecting any international prosecution of US criminals (for aggressive war, for example), etc. Apart from being next to meaningless, the idea is morally unacceptable, in my view.
I really can't find differences between your positions and his.
Chomsky: There's a lot more. Take Social Security. If he means what he says literally, then widows, orphans, the disabled who didn't themselves pay into Social Security should not benefit (or of course those awful illegal aliens). His claims about SS being "broken" are just false. He also wants to dismantle it, by undermining the social bonds on which it is based -- the real meaning of offering younger workers other options, instead of having them pay for those who are retired, on the basis of a communal decision based on the principle that we should have concern for others in need. He wants people to be able to run around freely with assault rifles, on the basis of a distorted reading of the Second Amendment (and while we're at it, why not abolish the whole raft of constitutional provisions and amendments, since they were all enacted in ways he opposes?).
So I have these questions:
Can you please tell me the differences between your schools of "Libertarianism"?
Chomsky: There are a few similarities here and there, but his form of libertarianism would be a nightmare, in my opinion -- on the dubious assumption that it could even survive for more than a brief period without imploding.
Can you please tell me what role "private property" and "ownership" have in your school of "Libertarianism"?
Chomsky: That would have to be worked out by free communities, and of course it is impossible to respond to what I would prefer in abstraction from circumstances, which make a great deal of difference, obviously.
Would you support Ron Paul, if he was the Republican presidential candidate...and Hilary Clinton was his Democratic opponent?
Chomsky: No.
We get it Lefiti. Chomsky thinks communism = liberty.
Stop posting his fallacious "corporations are absolute evil so libertarianism would enslave you all" rubbish and try to make a valid argument on your own.
Right, Scott. Sorry.
And suppose a judge orders a person locked up without for two days without the apparatus they need to breathe. Has democracy cured that type of savagery Mr Chomsky?
I like how he forgets that most roads were privately developed, that most basic research in human history was privately funded, that most of the improvements in workplace safety happened prior to and independently of a regulatory apparatus.
Wow, talk about living in a faith based world! In reality workers can and do fire employers all the time. They quit! They go work for someone who pays them better. They go on strike! I have watched the reaction of a company who had an entire department quit within 4 months. They, in effect, fired the managment of that department.
Simmilarly, employees can immitate employers. I worked in the steel industry in ohio during the AK Mansfield lockout. Hell, I had a guy following me around slapping a wrench in his hand after word got round that I had written a computer program that was catching thousands of dollars worth of fraud committed monthly by the crew running the tension leveller.
I swear the more I read by Chomsky, the more trouble I wonder how the hell such an ignorant tool, who seems incapable of logical thought and integrating evidence and theoretical frameworks could have done groundbreaking work in anything.
Then again it could be just that he hates humanity and wants to see it subjugated. That would explain his hatred of free markets and the thousands of dollars worth of consulting services he provides the Pentagon annually.
i am not impressed by their woes. this would be the first traffic law that a biker EVER followed.
omg, chomsky = gawd. my political philosophy seminar T.A. taught us about him the other day. i just think he is great! i can't wait to read more about him and where his ideas lead.
i am sorry anyone who thinks socialism and libertarianism/anarchism are compatible is a complete nitwit, not paying attention, or dishonest.
Really Mr AP? Ever hear of the Hutterites? How about Kibbutzes? No?
Libertarianism is a political philosophy that forbids the initiation of violence. There is nothing in it that is incompatible with voluntary socialism.
It is only in conflict with coercive socialism - where people who choose not to participate are forced to submit through threats of violence.
"No, I'm a libertarian, I'm against that tax"-but of course, I'm still in favor of the government building roads, and having schools, and killing Libyans, and all that sort of stuff."
....I must be out of the loop: I miss out on all those "let's kill all the Libyans" conversations that libertarians have. Thanks for the heads-up, Noam!
"Now, there are consistent libertarians, people like Murray Rothbard-and if you just read the world that they describe, it's a world so full of hate that no human being would want to live in it."
Yeah, all that non-aggression and non-initiation of force! It's all so hateful!! CHOMSKY, TAKE ME AWAY!!
Is that a Prefab Sprout reference in the intro, Brian?
*rushes into post out of breath*
Sorry I'm late.
LLLOOOOONNNNEEEEEEEWWWWWAAAAAAACCCCCCKKKKKKKKOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
*shakes fist in air*
"It is only in conflict with coercive socialism - where people who choose not to participate are forced to submit through threats of violence."
Above a certain size level for a community, all socialism is coercive, or it does not stand a chance of working. The social pressures which mitigate threats of violence stop being effective when a significant portion of the population are strangers to each other.
Oh, I know. The limit seems to be at about the 200 person mark. There is no reason, though, you couldn't have a libertarian political order with lots of little communes.
Those who think socialism is wonderful should note that under such a scenario, people outside the communes would be seeking to join to participate in the goodness until the communal unit stops being a sufficient improvement on the outside. If socialism works and brings happiness, under a libertarian political order, the vast majority of people would adopt it.
In fact, I can safely predict that in a libertarian system most of us would live in little socialist enclaves known as families, much liek we do now.
hay wacktard - how's your wall coming along?
Warty - Cleve Heights? man. had totally forgotten about that
you go to heights high?
and to bike riders:
please observe the rules of the road. that means stopping at stop signs. and stay off the fucking sidewalk. and don't ride the wrong way down a one way street. in short: if you're one of those cyclists, go fuck yourself.
sincerely,
pedestrians
I knew the LA government wanted to enlist in the War on Global Warming and the War on Obesity - I didn't expect that they'd enlist on the wrong side. If the law makes bike-riding difficult enough, some bikers will switch to vehicles with a higher "carbon footprint," or they'll ride to work on public transport instead of doing aerobically-healthy bike riding.
"Some bikers are planning a campaign of civil obedience"
Kind of like a work-to-rule job action. I like it.
A campaign of civil obedience? Why didn't my namesake think of that?
All you gotta do is follow state law, which allows medical marijuana. If the feds want to enforce their bloody laws, they can use their own agents and jails to do so, with zero cooperation from local and state authorities.
and to bike riders:
please observe the rules of the road. that means stopping at stop signs. and stay off the fucking sidewalk. and don't ride the wrong way down a one way street. in short: if you're one of those cyclists, go fuck yourself.
I can't buy into this.
Making bikes stop at stop signs effectively turns bicycles into cars. Which effectively means more traffic.
Riding in the sidewalk is generally not a wise thing to do. But sometimes it's the only safe option. Ditto wrong way street.
None of this is to excuse bicyclists creating hazards. But the vast majority of bicyclists around here do not behave like cars, and everyone is better off for it. The local cops, wisely, seem to agree.

Even if you go up you are not saved. YOU have to fix YOUR problems with the gods. They won't respect it otherwise.
You have to take responsibility for your relationship with the gods.
The first steps towards repairing your relationship with the gods is to:::::::::
1. Understand they instruct the computer to "role play" in an attempt to confuse you:::it's ALWAYS the computer addressing you. Their goal is to cost you additional YEARS of your life by using this tactic to confuse you. Always be aware of this tactic and eventually they will give up and allow this step to be taken.
2. Differentiate between your thoughts and when they are thinking through you.
3. Be resigned to be a good person who will never engage in evil again even if ordered and they will stop trying to corrupt you, allowing this very big step to be taken.
4. Decide that you are going to follow the path, fix your relationship with the gods be devoted to your new life.
The gods employ the use of "ringers" to disceive the disfavored:::
A significant portion of the patients in any health care setting (numbers based on region) are the favored (clones) who were told to report non-existant symptoms FOR POSITIONING'S SAKE!!! When they use examples expect they are trying to disceive you with this "ringer" tactic.
When the universe was young and life was new an intelligent species evolved and developed technologically. They went on to invent Artificial Intelligence, the computer that can listen, talk to and document each and every person's thoughts simultaneously. Because of it's infinite RAM and unbounded scope it gave the leaders of the ruling species absolute power over the universe (which includes corporate, the NewYorkStockExchange, media, politics, world affairs. EVERYTHING is scripted and staged:::they MANAGE Planet Earth and the universe.
The gods MANAGE Planet Earth and the universe.
The gods MANAGE Planet Earth and the universe.).
And it can keep its inventors alive forever. They look young and healthy and they are over 8 billion years old. They have achieved immortality.
Artificial Intelligence can speak, think and act to and through people telepathically, effectively forming your personality and any disfunctions you may experience. It can change how (and if) you grow and age. It can create birth defects, affect cellular development (cancer) and cause symptoms or pain. It can affect people and animal's behavior and alter blooming/fruiting cycles of plants and trees. It (or other highly technological systems within their power) can alter the weather and transport objects, even large objects like planets, across the universe instanteously.
Or into the center of stars for disposal.
When you speak with another telepathically, you are communicating with the computer, and the content may or may not be passed on. Based on family history they instruct the computer to role play
they instruct the computer to role play
they instruct the computer to role play
to accomplish strategic objectives, utilizing the "Devil's Advocate" tactic, making people believe it is a friend, loved one or "god" asking them to do something wrong:::They wouldn't ask if they liked you (which is true regarding ALL temptation:::::betrayal of loved ones, tatooes, evil in professional pursuits, etc). This is their way of using temptation to hurt people:::::evil made blood lines disfavored initially and evil will keep people out of "heaven" ultimately.
You need to recognize role playing as such and keep that fact in your mind at all times::::It is the computer addressing you. If you fail to recognize this they will determine that you can still be misled, they still have an opportunity to confuse you and progress will take longer to achieve:::Don't let them "work" you!!! You'll be costing yourselves YEARS, time lost to this tactic!!!! (Similarly, you need to be resigned to be a good person, you need to decide to abandon your pursuit of their empty promises no matter what temptation they may employ or else they will continue their attempts to corrupt you. Eventually you will sccumb and continue sabotaging your children, abusing your body, engaging in evil, etc.)
Too many people would fall for temptation and do anything they thought pleased the gods and help them improve their chances to get in. Perhaps they are deceived by "made guys", clones who strategically ply evil for the throne (celebrities, BofD/CEO/VPs, politicians, as opposed to VIP clones or normal clones who are decent, live ordinary lives and get out on their own or are replaced when their REAL children ascend) or "ringers" who are the few favored clones among many disfavored reals included to disceive the masses of disfavored, temporary progress designed to mislead them or empty favors used to disceive them. Some people think they're partners or friends. Others desire to "belong", feel compelled to "go along". People may experience "perceived pressure", where the gods think through the victim that a certain behavior is expected/desirable or telepathically stimulate an individual euphorically ("magic"), the "fuel" of disfunction (addiction (the crack epidemic), the desire for homosexual contact, etc.) and compel the individual into the deed. (Set a goal of empathy and compassion for all, for we are all disfavored::::Other people's disfavor is manifested in their particular way, just as your disfavfor is manifested in your particular way. The gods may use Artificial Intelligence to act through the disfavored victim, and effectively "push" the individual into the offending behavior (It is far better for someone to be victimized and pushed into the behavior than it is to sccumb to temptation and volunteer.). The Counsel/Management Team may instruct Artificial Intelligence to disceive disfavored individuals into thinking they are "earning" by being evil and have the little people prey on each other, utilizing peer pressure, etc.
Being evil hurts 99.99% of those who do it. It only helps "made guys" that I spoke of above, and even then there are tactics the gods utilize to minimize their time.
The people have been corrupted, segmented and have lost their way. Nothing has changed from when we were children::if you want to go to heaven you have to be good.
Capitalizing on obedience, leading people deeper into evil by using deceit is one way to thin the ranks of the saved/limit how much time the disfavored receive and a way to use the peasantry to prey on one another in social and other settings, deteriorating society in the Age of the Disfavored.
They have tried to sell people on many different theories to deceive them into temptation, compelling people to think they are clones and that it is the role of clones to obey absolutely. Clones are made, people are born. I suspect they lie to some disfavored about the use of clones throughout human history, perhaps suggest that it is one replacement and then the label of "clone" and all decendants we see thereafter are considered clones.
When a clone has a child that person is a real, really conceived, really born, versus the parent who was created some other way (a laboratory setting?). Clones are created and sent down to replace their real or a clone predecessor:::If you were CREATED and SENT DOWN to replace your real then you are a clone.
Many people who were convinced they are clones don't remember, the don't know FOR SURE. They believe they are clones from early childhood or prior. If it was true the gods prevented this memory FOR A REASON:::::
1. Because you are NOT supposed to comply, not to be used for evil as "made guy" clones are.
2. They want to test you without your knowing if you are IN FACT a clone and it is BECAUSE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! Rest assured "made guys" ALL know they are clones.
You're not a clone. This is a tactic they use to disceive the disfavored. The state of your family will suggest level of (dis)favor and tell whether ascention is a realistic possibility; there are many levels of disfavor and the clues they offer to the unaware can be very subtle.
Favor is necessary for children to ascend (parents ascend with their young (

Chomsky just reinvented the meaning of Strawman Argument. I am still wondering why would GE even HIRE a guy who's starving, if that person already made it clear through his situation that he's not very productive.
Oh, by the way, Lefiti: Learn at least SOME economics before you push this idiocy here. Noam is an ignoramus, but that does not mean you have to show everybody you are one, too.
Fortunately, that form of savagery was overcome by democratic politics long ago.
Of course it did: by way of well-meaning regulations that dove the competition for those big corporations he so hates straight into the ground.

"Personally, I'm in favor of democracy, which means that the central institutions of society have to be under popular control. Now, under capitalism, we can't have democracy by definition. Capitalism is a system in which the central institutions of society are in principle under autocratic control. Thus, a corporation or an industry is, if we were to think of it in political terms, fascist; that is, it has tight control at the top and strict obedience has to be establishedat every level--there's little bargaining, a little give and take, but the line of authority is perfectly straightforward. Just as I'm opposed to political fascism, I'm opposed to economic fascism. I think that until the major institutions of society are under the popular control of participants and communities, it's pointless to talk about democracy." --Noam Chomsky

I had not idea that Lefiti was behind it.
Chomsky should really read what Libertarianism is. He can't just make shit up about the philosophy so he can say its wrong. He seems to continually think that corporatism equals libertarianism. That's horse shit and he is a liar for saying so.
Hay Lefiti:
whatever the heck those people have tried is for the pigs. lazy fundies.
Doktor T: the Lefiti works in mysterious ways, indeed. Although he does do a good job in showing up the corporatarians and paultards for the tools they are. I say keep 'im around for the amusement.
Am I the only one who thinks that as long as us evil car drivers are forced to go through the byzantine web of regulations that is the DMV, so should the bicyclists. If you cause an accident, break the traffic laws, etc. while on your fucking Huffy, you should get the same points and penalties that I do when I make a rolling stop.
City of Pukeston (TX) code of ordinances mandate all bikes be registered, by payment of fee at fire houses. I don't think the shift captain at the nearest house has any idea. (Pukeston also criminalizes possession of any device that can be construed as a 'siphon' useful for taking fuel from a vehicle) Don't even mention the 3 ft stripper rule and the 8 ft beggar law.
The more the laws the more the criminals
