"Liberty" Flees Virginia
Less than a year ago, Virginia lawmakers admirably outlawed red light cameras in the state, citing–believe it or not–"liberty" as their reason.
How fleeting, this "liberty."
In just twelve months, the state did a complete about face, when, yesterday, the state senate gave its okay to traffic cameras. The bill had already passed the House of Delegates, source of the "liberty" holdup last year. After failing last year, it passed almost 2-1.
Governor Tim Kaine is expected to sign it.
