In a world gripped by a global pandemic, the brilliant scientists at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are the only hope left for humanity—or so you'd think, if you've seen Outbreak and Contagion.
But what if everything you thought you knew about the pandemic…movies…was wrong?
What if the real CDC has always done things such as telling a nurse with ebola she can board a commercial flight from Cleveland to Dallas, or botching the rollout of the Zika virus test?
From the producers who brought you contradictory mask guidance and told you to cook your prosciutto comes the true story of an agency that was—once again—completely unprepared for the one thing it was meant to do: fight disease.
Featuring guidelines that suggested you wipe down your groceries for more than a year after scientists knew the coronavirus was mostly airborne, a disastrous monopoly for wildly inaccurate COVID tests, red tape delays and math-illiterate pauses on vaccine administration, data sourced from an inaccurate New York Times infographic, data that's not statistically significant, an $8 billion budget that expands an infectious disease agency's purview to everything from sports injuries to gun violence, the crushing of all dissent, and an endless supply of contradictory narratives.
Coming this spring—over two years into the pandemic—don't miss CDC: The Movie. This time, it's more of the same.
Produced and written by Justin Monticello, Austin Bragg, and Meredith Bragg; performed by Austin Bragg and Justin Monticello; shot by Tim Harbour and Meredith Bragg; edited by Austin Bragg and Meredith Bragg.

It would be funny if it wasn't true.
Truth is stranger than fiction because fiction has to sound plausible.

Can I just reread 1984 and call it a day?
I will be sure to go see this when it comes out - assuming the movie theater is still mandating masks and enforcing social distancing.
WHY DO YOU WANT GRANDMA TO DIE?!?!

She's a bitch?
Oh, look who's starting to ask questions:
It's now permitted to criticize The Science?
SNL said it was OK.
1:17 is the best part of that video. The BEST part. "In 2014 we told a nurse with ebola (a disease with a 50% kill rate) that she could board a commercial flight from Cleveland to Dallas."
I mentioned this at least a couple of times over the last two years.
That was such a joke, I asked many of friends when they were in full blown panic mode over Covid what they thought about the infallible fauci and that crap with Ebola. How about just bringing them back from Africa being the first mistake?
Funniest part - a Reason contributor making a joke about copy editors.
To be fair, the particular contributor doesn't do a lot of writing. [insert link to supporting evidence here]
yep. "No." lol
Wallensky, Fauci or Murthy - who is best represented by the outbreak monkey?
100% Fauci.
I would like to congratulate Monticello and Bragg for cramming more comedic Hollywood satire into 2 min. and 36 sec. than Judd Apatow, Karen Gillan, Pedro Pascal, Keegan-Michael Key, David Duchovny, Fred Armisen, Leslie Mann, et al. could cram into 2 hrs. and 6 min.
Actually, I should correct myself. I assume they crammed more comedy in to 2:36 than the cast of The Bubble crammed into 2+ hours. I know Monticello and Bragg have them beat for the first 30 min. and I'd much rather watch another 3 or 30 min. of Bragg/Monticello than 3 more minutes of The Bubble.
"R-naught" "Are too" was comedic genius.
Thank you Monticello and Bragg. Hilarious.

And yet the fact that in both red and blue states, unvaxxed lead the numbers on new cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, the guiltiest party in the nation's response to Covid was the mind numbing anti-vaxx idiots who abound on this board. You did that, not the CDC. They weren't/aren't still unvaxxed - or dead - because the CDC didn't come through with the shots, or advised them not get theirs. You advised them not to.
Fuck you all.
I'm sorry the pandemic didn't turn out how you liked.
He'll keep trying - he's a really good contractor maybe he can direct the building of a new better virus?
It's funny to think that 20 yrs. from now he'll still be posting "in fact in both red and blue states, unvaxxed lead the numbers on new cases, hospitalizations, and deaths..." and the Kids will reply "Whatever Doomer."
The actuarial tables strongly advise against placing a bet on ol' Joe doing anything 20 years from now. Maybe his grandkids can set this account up as a bot.

Scroll the video forward to 2:18 and watch it.
If you don't understand why you're an idiot, do it again. Repeat as necessary.
You advised them not to.

Joe you have surpassed Strazele for most ludicrous poster. mho.
If you can classify anything as a disease or an epidemic, a "Center for Disease Control and Prevention" starts to accumulate a lot of power.
