“Seizing Harvards federal funds”
It really is amazing how dishonest and corrupt this filthy lefty rag is.
Yeah. That headline still leaves me aghast.
I just wish they’d “come out”.
It failed for Oliver, so they are too scared.
Try this one:
Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution of The United States:
" No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed. "
“Bills of attainder... inflict punishments without any conviction in the ordinary course of judicial proceedings... without any of the common forms and guards of trial, and satisfying itself with proofs, when such proofs are within its reach, whether they are conformable to the rules of evidence, or not. In short,... what may be properly deemed an irresponsible despotic discretion, being... too often under the influence of unreasonable fears, or unfounded suspicions. The prohibition embodied in this clause... is to be interpreted in accordance with the designs of the framers so as to preclude trial by legislature, which would violate the separation of powers. The clause thus prohibits all legislative acts, “no matter what their form, that apply either to named individuals or to easily ascertainable members of a group in such a way as to inflict punishment on them without a judicial trial. What the fuck does that have to do with Harvard losing its subsidies for violating its agreements?
Clueless as ever.
Research proposal writing and contract management is arduous because funding is competitive, and contracts rigorous .
You have zero understanding of the language of government grants or contracts.
Your reply has zero to do with a bill of attainder. You remain a moron.
“Trump enforces Civil Right Act, Harvard refuses”
This has nothing nada zero to do with antisemitism. Are you clueless? Trump is the 'good people on both sides' guy who invites neo-nazis to dinner. He supports Israel to keep his evangelical pals happy and only likes Jews if they give him money.
A listener asks how to reasonably cut government spending.
lol, you don't have any listeners.
And despite their abolish articles, they seem to not want any cuts. They have more argued for raising income taxes than they have cuts, using even the flawed CBO estimates to do so.
Cutting taxes is un-libertarian you know.
Cutting spending is even less Libertarian. Not giving money to people who got money yesterday is stealing.
Not giving money to people who got money yesterday is stealing
Poe's Law.
TRUMP'S WAR ON ANTISEMITISM, RACISM AND SEXISM AT HARVARD
Trump, so awful.
Trump is using the power of the state to punish his enemies!!!!
Just like how in the 1940's the US and Britain used the power of state to punish enemies advocating the exact same shit as Harvard, by cutting off federal funding to Nazi Germany.
What part of Harvard is violating their funding agreements do these clowns not understand.
It isn't the anti-Semites that are suffering from Trump's funding cuts, it is the disproportionately Jewish medical school and public health school faculty. You seem to approve of that. And your comparison of Harvard to Nazi Germany is evidence. Harvard actually got government funding to help develop weapons to fight the Nazis.
And there is no evidence that Harvard is violating its funding agreements. There is a good chance it will win in the courts. It does have better lawyers than the MAGA Administration.
"It isn't the anti-Semites that are suffering from Trump's funding cuts"
Nobody is suffering, you useful tool, because Harvard has a $57 billion sovereign wealth fund larger than half the countries in the world's GDP.
All that's happening is they're loosing access to taxpayer money because they deliberately violated their agreements related to the grants.
And as Earth-Based said earlier today, If their average annual return on various investments is less than 20%, then why bother placing alums inside all the major investment banks and global governments?
"And there is no evidence that Harvard is violating its funding agreements."
I know your copypasting ActBlue talking-points, but do you have to be so blatant about it? Like think about it for a second before you post?
The profs are recorded proudly spewing hate in the classrooms on video, the students publish the hate online in the The Harvard Crimson, the sexism is written into official policy.
The proof is concrete and undeniable.
“Trump enforces Civil Right Act, Harvard refuses”
What part of " No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed." don't you understand?
What does that have to do with losing your access to sweet taxpayer funding because you couldn't stop being sexiest and racist, despite your government slush funds being conditional on NOT being sexiest and racist?
As Trump's ex post facto executive orders against Harvard are grossly unconstitutional, they have already been declared invalid in Federal court.
Reason should invite 2016 Libertarian Party vice presidential candidate Bill Weld for his take on the relevant law.
You keep using words you have no idea the definition to.
God damn. What a fucking retard.
There is no ex post facto change here retard. The laws being enforced already exist. Harvard is guilty of them.
“Trump enforces Civil Right Act, Harvard refuses”
Are you suggesting that enforcing the law against one organization is a bill of attainder?
How retarded are you? You've misapplied bill of attainder a half dozen times today. You're a fucking moron lol.
Elsewhere in the news these goons refuse to read, the courts have rejected Trumps latest effort to veil an attainder in the guise of an Executive order, this time against his legal nemesis Mueller :
Trump Loses Another Battle in His War Against Elite Law Firms
A judge struck down an executive order targeting WilmerHale, in the latest victory for the handful of firms that have fought back against a Trump administration crackdown.

Curious
Curious how the Jewish President of Harvard would enter into a battle that he cannot win with President Trump in order to defend those who would use violence against him for being Jewish. It's a common position for Jews of The Left to take.

Well, apparently not by actually cutting government spending.
