The Government Loves To Grab New Powers in the Name of Your Safety
From protests to the coronavirus, it thinks it can protect you from anything.

The original line-up of The Reason Roundtable is back! Matt Welch leads Peter Suderman, Katherine Mangu-Ward, and Nick Gillespie through a discussion of shootings and police violence, coronavirus and security theater, and Joe Biden's immigration policies.
Discussed in the show:
01:43: Recent police shootings, gun violence, and the inevitable subsequent unfolding of protests, qualified immunity cases, and tighter regulations.
18:07: How the press covers protests and the coronavirus.
30:38: Biden's refugee cap is no different than Trump's, for now.
45:47: Weekly Listener Question: What should be my greater concern as a libertarian: denying would-be immigrants citizenship, or the ever-growing deficits from the welfare state?
49:37: Media recommendations for the week.

It sounds to me like you have city government problems that were consequences of local voting habits. If you leave that city you will stop having those problems.

Democrats are so special. Call everyone else a fascist, stick their thumbs up their butts, and hope for the best.
I was hoping they would discuss how both Michigan and Oregon now want the pandemic powers and orders to last forever now. Temporary rules my ass they want mask and lockdowns forever
No mean tweets. Thats the important part.
Reason writers love pushing the narrative to allow government power to grow. The Sicknick reporting seems to be their latest attempt to spread lies in support of their perferred reality.

Just another in a long list of delusions like Trump/Russia collusion, Trump calling for insurrection, Russian bounties on US troops, kids in cages. Meanwhile, also having zero interest in Hunter Biden's laptop, constant rioting and looting by the left (except of Rommelman), or even the slightest investigation into election fraud cases. Reason is offically a garbage tabloid rag.
There will be no mea culpa over that storyline there was none over the bounty story. WK, reason, et al will refuse to admit they are the useful idiots of the left and freely help narrative build.

American dream - Government should protect you in the name of your own Individual Liberty and Justice.
When National Gov-Guns are used for Democratic Social Justice we get 'Hitlers' of National Socialism (def; Nazism).

To our pathetically cowardly police arguing that they need us all denied more rights, especially RKBA rights, or they will murder even more of us and to any tempted to believe their lies or give in to their extortion - “Only in a police state is the job of a policeman easy.”
— Orson Welles
Those noted in the pod fat, early, defined benefit pensions are the sole passions of their lives for police. Making those subject to civil asset forfeiture to citizens in cases of police misconduct would be both poetic justice and quite effective. Seeing their bad cop buddy living his retirement in a fleabag weekly motel eating cat food, while fighting an endless and futile fight to prove that he isn't / wasn't actually that bad to get part of his extravagant pension back would be a caution missed by few.
There are legitimate issues of public safety right now, as well as issues of personal liberty. We have a federal government completely failing in its responsibility to support its citizenry, and alternately dumping on and undercutting on the state governors.

I was hoping they'd talk about how certain Michigan and Oregon now want epidemic powers and directives to last indefinitely. They don't really want helmets and shutdowns to be momentary, they need them to be permanent.best regards: MyArticles
I was anticipating they'd talk about how both Michigan and Oregon now want emergency powers and restrictions to last eternally. They don't want masks and lockdowns to be transitory, they want them to be permanent.best regards: essay writing services
