ICE on Ice

Workplace immigration raids on hold. In the face of public protests and an apparent lobbying effort by businesses and members of his administration, President Donald Trump ordered a pause on some workplace immigration raids.
Get your morning news roundup from Liz Wolfe and Reason.
That decision was made after Trump met last week with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins, who reportedly impressed upon the president the essential role that immigrants (not all of them with proper documentation, it seems) play on American farms. But the pause seems to apply more broadly. Regional offices of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were told late last week to "hold on all work site enforcement investigations/operations on agriculture (including aquaculture and meat packing plants), restaurants and operating hotels," The New York Times reported on Friday.
That's a sharp pivot for the administration, which had recently ordered ICE to step up its immigration enforcement by specifically targeting workplaces where undocumented migrants might be working. In recent weeks, raids have taken place at nail salons, hardware stores, farms, restaurants, and other job sites. (Last week I wrote about the community response to one such raid in San Diego.)
If we can't have leaders who consistently take pro-liberty positions, then we should hope those who don't will at least sometimes see the error of their ways. Immigration policies aimed at arresting and deporting members of criminal gangs might be broadly popular. Raids targeting individuals who are peacefully exchanging labor for dollars certainly aren't. It's good that Trump is listening to someone other than Stephen Miller about this stuff.
Minnesota shooting suspect arrested: Over the weekend, Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman (D–Brooklyn Park) and her husband were killed, and state Sen. John Hoffman (D–Champlin) and his wife were wounded, in separate attacks carried out in the early hours of Saturday morning. Last night police arrested the man suspected of carrying out what seems to have been a politically motivated attack targeting state lawmakers.
The suspect is Vance Boelter, a 57-year-old man. He was arrested near Green Isle, Minnesota, about an hour west of Minneapolis, and he has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree attempted murder.
Israel and Iran still killing people: Israel claimed to have hit a command center for Iran's Quds Force on Monday. Meanwhile, the bodies are piling up on both sides.
In a post on X, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said "there is no intention to physically harm the residents of Tehran" despite the ongoing bombardment of the city. The Iranian government claims that more than 200 people in Iran have been killed since the war began on Friday. At least 21 people have been killed in Israel.
Iran and the United States were supposed to negotiate during this week's G7 summit, but "that ship seems to have sailed," reports Reason's Matthew Petti.

What if there was a big dumb parade and no one cared? What was supposed to be the big spectacle of the weekend—the military parade in Washington, D.C., to mark the U.S. Army's 250th birthday (and which fell on Trump's 79th birthday too)—ended up being overshadowed by the war, the Minnesota shootings, and the "No Kings" protests in hundreds of cities and towns. It also just didn't draw many people and seems to have been kind of a mess.
I just got back from the Trump parade and I have to say it was legitimately the worst executed mass attendance event I've ever seen
One overarching thought: how do you spend $80 million and fumble the basics?

The parade was an absurd waste of money—Reason's Billy Binion crunched the numbers and found that it cost about half a million bucks per minute. I did like the idea of having the Army wear throwback uniforms from the eras when America fought wars for good reasons. Or at least for less bad ones. Well, sometimes less bad ones. Look, I am no apologist for authoritarians and not a big fan of military rah-rah-ism, but I am a history nerd and that was pretty cool.
Scenes from Palm Springs: I've assembled this newsletter from a red-eye flight home from FreedomFest, the annual libertarian shindig. It is not difficult to choose the best moment of this year's gathering: Ross Ulbricht's heartfelt (and at times heartbreaking) speech on Friday evening.
What an honor to have @RealRossU join us for one of his first appearances after release. pic.twitter.com/9Khr4a9KgU
— FreedomFest (@TheFreedomFest) June 14, 2025
A full video of Ross' remarks can be found here.
Ulbricht had been serving two consecutive life sentences in a maximum security prison before being pardoned by President Donald Trump in January. Libertarians of all kinds had called for his release, but the largest share of credit should go to his mother, Lyn Albricht, who was honored with an award at FreedomFest. In remarks to the event's closing dinner, she discussed her new efforts on behalf of individuals serving excessive and cruel sentences. I wish her tremendous success.
QUICK HITS
- The Trump administration is effectively nationalizing U.S. Steel (which is a private company, despite how the name sounds). A deal being finalized by the White House would give presidents "a permanent stake in U.S. Steel, significant sway over its board and veto power over a wide array of company actions, an arrangement that could change the nature of foreign investment in the United States," The New York Times reports.

It's 80 now?
Do I hear 90?
Why not,
100 anyone?
Best part about this is Reason crying over 45M as they've defended 10s of billions to NGOs.
I was told 50 billion in savings is a pointless amount to save.
Great username for that comment.
I would vote Libertarian - but why bother.
I’ve been told pardoning cruel and excessive sentences is a misuse of power
Attempting to shrink government is tyranny.
Not supporting government corruption is fascism.
In April U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly barred the order’s critical proof-of-citizenship requirement for the federal voter registration application and, according to Politico, “another provision that instructs federal agencies not to assist individuals with registering unless they can assess that those people are U.S. citizens.” She left provisions like the Election Day deadline and the UOCAVA proof-of-citizenship requirement in place, but Democrats simply moved along to the favorable venue and achieved a victory in one district court that has nationwide consequences for the integrity of U.S. elections.
Casper granted the states a preliminary injunction, preventing Trump’s order from being implemented, saying the states are likely to prevail in further court proceedings. She said implementing better voter ID would likely cause irreparable harm to states, because it would be complicated and expensive.

Despite every state being able to verify citizenship, democrats and their judicial soldiers refuse to require verification.
Citizenship is racist!
No human that can have a Democrat vote harvested is illegal.

“This election is too close to call until we get the results from China.”
" Raids targeting individuals who are peacefully exchanging labor for dollars certainly aren't. "
I tend to agree, so long as those participating are not breaking laws(*) that if I were to break, I would be fined or jailed. Minimum wage laws, tax evasion, welfare fraud, identity theft, tax fraud, OSHA regs, are among the first things that pop into my head.
(*) Irrespective of whether such laws should be in effect.
They are also are peacefully stealing from taxpayers which Boehm seemingly has no issue with.
Not Liz today.
Yeap. Noticed and changed. Makes more sense.
Yeah I was at Freedom Fest and did not see Liz there. I did sit on Boehm and Binion's discussion. And saw Soave and Doharty's too.
People argue "Americans aren't willing to work for immigrant wages" which is partially true. But the real issue is that Americans work within the regulatory structure. And illegals don't.
We saw in 2019 citizens lining up for these jobs (meat packing plants) after immigration raids.
The myth of citizens won't work remains a myth to push open borders. They have to justify their defense of theft anyway they can.
They claim that fucking construction is a job Americans won't do.
That, of course, is a heaping pile of shit. Americans have ALWAYS been more than willing to do construction.
Those jobs were paying $20+/hr. Last summer, Tyson announced they were hiring 10,000s of migrants and offering $16. It's a real mystery why those jobs weren't filled by Americans.
Also America pays a lot for people to do nothing. What you're willing to do changes a lot when you remove the option of doing nothing and getting paid so you can eat or not be homeless.
A lot of Americans work outside the regulatory structure too. Probably fewer than once did (sadly, to my mind), but there's plenty of income going unreported (do you file a 1099 for every $600 transaction you make?) and plenty of people working for cash.
Let me re-phrase,
Americans generally work within the regulatory structure. And illegals generally don't.
Yes, in general. But I think the "informal economy" is a lot bigger than most people realize.
Odd how reality conflicts with the narrative:
https://x.com/CortesSteve/status/1934617051219345869
That. Is. Impossible.
The narrative clearly states on page 7, paragraph 3 that Americans won't want to work.
Then on page 10 paragraph 2 it clearly states these jobs are beneath Americans and only suitable for filthy foreigners.
You just ignore facts and chug on .....:)
Over the administration’s first 50 days, ICE arrested nearly 33,000 undocumented immigrants, including 75% accused of or convicted of a crime, the Department of Homeland Security said Wednesday.
Anyway, I ask now what I asked under Biden : What is being done to give a path to citizenship? Biden and Harris did shtall and no one on Reason said a squeak.
Nothing. They are here illegally. They are being told to follow the process. They have to return home and apply for a valid visa.
The legal immigration system exists, so claiming there is no path to citizenship is false on the face of it.
You also might want to do even the barest amount of research on how many legal immigrants the U.S. lets in every year compared to every other nation on the face of Earth.
The fact you claim to teach college is frightening when you have a total inability to research basic facts. Is that not taught in grad school OR your undergrad? Baffling.
You mean the "path to citizenship" that 1M+ people use annually to become naturalized US citizens and have for decades?
It might not be a smooth and easy as you want to make it, but for the love of all that is holy, please stop pretending that there is not already a legal path to citizenship that people could follow if they just chose to do so instead of wading across the Rio Grande and climbing a fence.
But that has limits! We cannot accept any limits. Racist!
.. mass attendance event..
Yet he claims nobody came.
...President Donald Trump ordered a pause on some workplace immigration raids.
Giving the illegals time to come to the negotiating table.
ITS A TRAP!
Rollins was one of his more iffy cabinet secretary nominees.
Or giving those businesses a little time to shift to domestic labor. Ending slavery does take some time to implement without crashing the industries dependent on it.
Regardless of that, I don't like the seeming capitulation.
Just days after CPI disappointed the the Trump Tariff infation fear-mongers once again and a month since the UMich survey found that "Women, Democrats, & Low-Income Americans Are Out Of Their TDS-Addled Minds", and one week after Goldman finally called out the idiocy of the UMich survey, slamming its "partisanship" and the "sample design break starting from June 2024"...
https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/umich-sentiment-surges-higher-early-june-tariff-derangement-sydrome-remains
one week after Goldman finally called out the idiocy of the UMich survey
Looking deeper into this: Goldman is predicting blunted tariff inflation of around 3.6% because an economic slowdown will counter inflation.
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/why-goldman-sachs-says-tariff-price-hikes-wont-trigger-an-inflation-surge-57dac769
TL:DR A weakening economy is predicted to cause deflationary pressures which will limit inflation caused by tariffs.
I'm not a fan of the tariffs. But to play devil's advocate here, weren't the predictions from a couple months ago arguing higher prices and inflation, coupled with economic downturn? Meaning, the predictions already had factored in slower growth in the economy. Or are the newest predictions that the economic growth will slow EVEN MORE than was predicted a couple months ago?
I think you have that right. The doom and gloom predictions have been tempered to just gloom.
I think the difference maker is the assumption that the reciprocal tariffs will not be reinstated after the 90 days which is certain for the big dog, China.

Last night police arrested the man suspected of carrying out what seems to have been a politically motivated attack targeting state lawmakers.
This one is a wash, political haymaking wise. The well of whatever this guy's politics are has already been muddied.
Murder over political disagreements is predominantly Leftist. Everything I've seen that puts him even remotely centrist is just media wish casting and guilt by association that ignores his particular actions/friends/beliefs. Just one more Leftist lunatic blamed on the Right.
There's obviously a lot of unknowns now that will become clearer over the coming hours/days/weeks, but who gives a shit what his politics are? Murder is Murder is Murder..
Of course the extreme Left has a history of violence and murder - is your implication the extreme Right doesn't? I suppose all the abortion clinics that have been bombed over the years and doctors murdered who performed abortions - they were all Leftists too?
C'mon, be better. Violence is equally bad no matter who initiates and who the victims are.
I know your usual liberal sources won't tell you this but there are far more attacks on pro life centers than there are abortion clinics.

Why 2nd degree? This was clearly premeditated.
Democrats are only 3/5ths of a person.
In Minnesota, by state law, 1st degree murder indictments can only be handed down via grand jury. They'll convene one and upgrade the charges, most likely.

MSNBC Shocked Army’s 250th Birthday Lacked 'Tense' or 'Dark, Malevolent Energy'

“It’s not dark, it’s not tense, it’s not amped up… it’s different,”
“I’m just surprised at the number of the people at the front of the parade who were watching, cheering and then would come and ask to take a selfie,” MSNBC’s Ali Velshi said. “This is a very different mood here. People seem to be going out of their way to say that they’re here to celebrate the Army’s 250th birthday.”
Velshi appeared appalled that the event honored American troops who had sacrificed everything to fight for the United States.

Not Even Hiding It: 148 Democrats Go Against Barring Non-Citizens from Voting
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/not-even-hiding-it-148-democrats-go-against-barring-non-citizens-from-voting/ar-AA1GLfTm
Despite an overwhelming majority of House Democrats opposing the measure, the House on Tuesday moved to overturn a law in Washington, D.C., that allows non-citizens to vote in local elections.
The bill passed 266-148, according to Fox News. One Democrat voted “present,” while 56 supported the bill.
House Republicans have tried before to overturn the D.C. law, but both times the Democrat-dominated Senate blocked the measure from passing, according to The Washington Post. The Senate now has a Republican majority.
“The right to vote is a defining privilege of American citizenship,” Rep. James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, said. “Diluting that right by extending it to non-citizens — whether here legally or illegally — undermines the voice of D.C. residents.”
while 56 (democrats) supported the bill...
There's 56 people who should avoid answering the doorbell @ 2:30 in the morning.
To be fair, no one should answer the doorbell @ 2:30 in the morning without a shotgun in their hands.
Agreed, but Democrats are walking gun free zones.
Joe Biden told Field & Stream magazine "[if] you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door."
Biden told an interviewer that he had advised his wife, Jill, "if there's ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here, walk out and put that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house."
Fire both shots from your double barrel? The criminal will know, "oh good, he has to reload. Now's my chance."
To be fair, he has dementia.
A stupid thing to say of course.
Jill firing a double-barrel shotgun from the 2nd Floor at the front door, a guaranteed miss and if they are armed Jill is a dead one.

Losing control of your borders and then expecting impoverished communities to pick up the slack. Imposing mass migration on a public that never asked for it. A multicultural state that sacralises difference over unity, and segregation over integration. A political and media class that has covered up horrific crimes committed by members of certain minority groups, for fear of how those supposedly bigoted whites will react. If you wanted to stir up ethnic conflict, if you wanted to burnish the hateful agendas of the hard right, you’d struggle to find a better playbook than this.

I just got back from the Trump parade and I have to say it was legitimately the worst executed mass attendance event I've ever seen
With apologies to any doughboys here, the army can apparently no longer march in time. I blame DEI.
Cribbing the joke from another article's thread: worst executed mass attendance event I've seen since the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The Army does drill? Anyway, they mostly seem to be "moving in formation" rather than "marching". You wouldn't generally expect to be full-on marching except where the VIP section is, when you would be expecting to salute/present arms. And, this is also clearly not a "display your fealty to the Ruler" type of event. Where one might expect, say in NK, that anyone out of step would be punished. It was a celebration of the Army, not Trump.
....where undocumented migrants might be working...
That is ILLEGAL alien you globalist prick.
At least one 20-something did the right thing and paid off her student loans, despite it being a struggle
https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/careersandeducation/i-pay-2-800-every-month-toward-my-student-loans-although-i-only-have-200-left-each-week-to-spend-i-ll-be-debt-free-this-year/ar-AA1GKbLf
As a college graduate walking the stage in 2023, I crossed the invisible threshold into what everyone calls "the real world."
I said goodbye to the friends I had spent every moment of the past four years with and welcomed my new best friend, student loan debt.
Living in the beautiful coastal town of Newport, Rhode Island, during college was the best experience of my life thus far, yet the worst thing for my bank account. I didn't bat an eye, dropping $20 every weekend to see a cover band, $15 to Uber downtown, and $16 for a salted caramel espresso martini.
With a one-year grace period after graduating, I thought I had time to build up my bank account to start paying off the weight of debt on my shoulders. Yet, little did I know that the interest still grew while I was adjusting to adulting.
I knew I had to make drastic decisions — and fast.
One day, I logged into my account and saw that I owed $3,000 more than my original balance. It sent me into a spiral. I cried thinking I'd be in debt forever and would never be able to go on vacations or buy a new car.
As an English major, I was unfamiliar with economics and how interest rates worked.
Fortunately, my parents were willing to let me live at home after graduating to get my feet on the ground. Moving back home under the same roof as my parents after years of freedom was far from my definition of fun, but it was ultimately the right move financially.
With help from my boyfriend, I realized that minimum payments were not the answer to escaping rising interest rates and quickly becoming debt-free. I decided to devote about 80% of my monthly income, totaling $2,800, toward student loans, sometimes leaving me with only $200 to spend in a week.
If my calculations prove to be correct, I will officially be debt-free in September.
What I originally thought would take 30 years to pay off is taking only two, which I am extremely proud of. Pushing through the stress and many tears was worth it, as I will now cross the threshold into financial freedom.
Good on her. That's the way.
Yup. My daughter also scrimped to pay off her student loans early. And a few years later, she and her husband did the same to pay off business loans for a failed startup.
Suckers, right?
As an English major, I was unfamiliar with economics and how interest rates worked.
Another victim of the public school system.
Exactly, her degree is useless.
She managed to get a job and pay back her loans. I don't see how you can say her degree is useless. She is doing something productive with it.
Possible. It's also possible she's doing something that doesn't require that degree at all. 2,800/.8 = $3,500 Monthly take home. (3500*12)/0.66(taxes) = ~$64,000 yearly salary.
Sadly, since employers can't give intelligence tests or really any sort of objective tests to job applicants, nearly every job requires a college degree to show intelligence.
Even more sadly, college degrees are incredibly poor proxies of intelligence.
Randy, if you ever had a real job you would know that though a degree might not count , not having one can sink you.
IT's like lungs, they won't pay the bills but if you don't have any it's tough
I'm a structural engineer. My company employs many people without degrees. The majority of our iron workers, carpenters, masons, etc. don't have college degrees. And they make good money.
The majority of documented tradesmen make in excess of average income across the country. The ones that don't are not working full-time. Pipelayers in DC metro average $80k. I recently worked for a company that when we put together the benefits package, we handed out 65 copies in Spanish and 4 in English. Only 3 people were interested in benefits if they were required to contribute any amount.
It was a huge issue and the company's only recourse was to offer no benefits and risk federal penalties or make it mandatory and lose workers to other company's that don't.
The push for college (no matter how useless the degree) onto 18 year-olds that have no real concept of money is the real problem.
Familiarize yourself with Giggs v. Duke Power and that will explain why everyone suddenly had to go to college in the 1970s and 80s.
Great article!
Rioters in Portland attacked the ICE facility, smashed windows, breached the building, and assaulted officers with rocks and more (some officers injured).
So far as I know, no protesters were shot in the face for their antics, despite this being the agreed-upon protocol for such actions.
(D)ifferent.
Yeah. But there was a military parade. Why are you talking about local issues. Those riots are cost free.
Insurance covers the damages. So, that means it is free.
We need more broken windows to boost the economy!
Bastiat was wrong though
"..smashed windows, breached the building, and assaulted officers with rocks and more (some officers injured)."
Hmm, sounds a lot like J6. Should they all have been shot in the face too?
Note to the Binary Thinkers (i.e. most of you): This Does Not Mean I Support Rioters/Looters/Protesters Attacking ICE - It Obviously Means That BOTH Are Wrong.
Remember - one-dimensional, binary thinking is a disease. But there are cures.
Weird how your both sides claim only come out after democrats riot and after a whatabout J6, where over 900 non violent paraders were given months and years in jail.
Why do you idiots think anybody falls foe this? You can go to the sullum original j6 thread and see everyone here denouncing the violence. Go back to the BLM riots and you see your team defending the peaceful riots and screaming about unmarked vans.
Youre fooling nobody sarc sock.
You can't even figure out 3 hours vs weeks or months.
You can't even figure out the difference from pushing at barriers compared to iced water bottles, rocks, commercial grade fireworks.
Youre just trying to defend the left.
Hey, I think you forgot. He is smarter than you, And me.
Doesn't mean he cares about facts. Just raw, pure intelligence.
The parade was an absurd waste of money...
Everything the feds do is a waste of money, cool or not. There's no pulling out of this spiral short of amending the Constitution to allow electing Javier Milei as president. (And replacing a good number of federal judges.)
The thing Boehm and Billy Binion are lying about is that the parade was paid for out of pocket by Trump and a bunch of corporate donors.
One million times less of a waste of corporate money than the average Pedo Pride parade.
the parade was paid for out of pocket by Trump and a bunch of corporate donors.
I'd like to see the figures on that. I haven't seen anyone give a dollar amount on how much was donated vs. tax payer funded.
You should look around for it then, because the public statements were the whole thing. Keep us honest, QB.
The donations have not been disclosed.
AP reported "Private donations from companies like Lockheed Martin, Amazon and UFC are helping defray some of the costs, but the government still is expected to spend $25 million to $45 million." but I don't know where their figures are coming from either.
https://apnews.com/article/trump-military-parade-army-france-bastille-3f35b9f85411bb47a7f4772f322afd7f
It's chump change to the feds anyway.
I figure government is going to have some degree of pageantry, so I can't get too worked up about it even though if I were in charge, there would be none of it.
Yeah, for perspective, the cost of sending an aircraft carrier to the middle east is ~$13 billion and missiles cost anywhere from a few million to ~$30 million each.
Better to have our soldiers parade in our streets than fighting in someone else’s streets.
According to the Atlantic it is absolutely terrible we have more troops in LA than Syria.
Definitely!
But this is a rather hateful and dumb comment. That parade doesn't cost what 4th of July celebrations cost (opportunity cost and externalities like increased pollution included) but only a FOOL would say we are better off without 4th of July.

LA City Council member blatantly asks LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell to give the immigrant community a heads up re ICE enforcement.
“No we can’t do that. That would be obstruction of justice. You might want to talk to the city attorney about that.”
On the record, no shame asking the LAPD Chief to be involved in obstruction of justice.
MIND BOGGLING. ZERO SHAME. ZERO RESPECT FOR THE LAW.

@BillMelugin_
I was at this operation with Noem. It wasn’t targeting a “pregnant mother”, it was targeting her previously deported illegal alien Mexican husband who had been convicted of drug trafficking in February & had an attempted murder charge pleaded down to an assault conviction. ICE had a criminal judicial warrant for his arrest, signed off on by a federal judge, because he illegally re-entered the U.S. after removal, which is a felony.
Of course, none of that context is in
@KTLA
reporting here as they only spoke to his wife, who apparently *shockingly* didn’t disclose any of his criminal history.
“No we can’t do that. That would be obstruction of justice. You might want to talk to the city attorney about that.”

'If we can't have leaders who consistently take pro-liberty positions, then we should hope those who don't will at least sometimes see the error of their ways.'
Hey, Reason, how about leaders who consistently take anti-liberty positions? Would you rather have them in power?
"Democrats are worse, that makes it ok."
Drink!
Do you think drunks hate Mondays like working people?
You think democrats are the bees knees.
Aren't Republicans?
Nope.
See the difference between you and your socks is we criticize the vast majority of the GOPe. Whereas you seek to defend the left whole criticizing the few good gop any time they take a step in the right direction. Like your complaints about defending NGOs, firing gov employees, etc. All under a false guise of keeping government growing and empowered by the left.
You rage harder at funding cuts, deregulation, downsizing fed government than you do with the left growing government. Youre fooling nobody dumdum.
Poor stupid sarcbot.

I like Jack Nicholson but a pundit he is not.
Rather it's like Edith Stein said
[Women] comprehend not merely with the intellect but also with the heart. (Problems of Women's Education)
and you can see Jack's ice heart in that scene [the actress had to be quite bright to play that stupid part so well FYI ]
No they comprehend from them being the center of the world
I’m surprised nobody in the DNC has told Waltz to stfu or else.
They keep bringing him around. They seem to think he's gold or something.
He shows that you can be masculine and a Democrat!
Masculine in what way? Closet gay?
The Trump administration is effectively nationalizing U.S. Steel (which is a private company, despite how the name sounds).
Worked for Venezuela.
Democrats have become the party of old people and failed theater kids.

Objective statements of fact are now positive words or 'praise' you TDS-addled twit!? ????
Arg! Comment system ate my smiley 🙂 ????
The Trump administration is effectively nationalizing U.S. Steel...
Big if true.
Big if true.
Basically a policy indicating that socialism is preferable to foreign ownership.
I've been told that China is beating us economically and it's partly due to the Chinese government having a stake in major companies. So if we're going to compete then our government needs to be more like the PRC and take control of industry.
It is amazing how every one of your arguments are derived from ignorance and strawman.
And malt liquor.
Lots of malt liquor.
I don't think 'derived' is the word you want. Your argument bypass thought is what you want to say.
No. He starts with a narrative and makes an argument, with no interest in actually exploring the facts. He creates arguments through his own ignorance. And when confronted with actual facts he refuses to learn.
Like boehm, you are incapable of understanding what the deal even was. The sale was upheld based on wording that states Japan can't shut down the plants within 10 years. Why this matter? China has been buying up British steel to shut down their plants.
Like sarc you intentionally remain ignorant.
There isn't any subsidized funding in this deal.
SRG's case of TDS prohibits his ability to see any Trump action in a rational manner. SRG is a fucking pile of TDS-addled shit and nothing more.
I am sure this is just as accurate as when Reeeason (Namely Lancaster and ENB) told us Trump is going to nationalize tiktok.
It's true. Biggly.
Is the 25th Amendment useless?
It's no match for powerful handlers and a complicit corporate press.
Useless because it has no power to remove all the people running the Biden administration behind the scenes.
It's useless because not going against your party is far more important. Besides why would the people running the country then want to give up their power?
This guy gets it:
*Tariff price inflation hasn't happened
*Everybody is coming to the negotiation table
*Companies are re-shoring and committed to trillion$ in domestic investment
*Liberals are losing their shit (well maybe he was right about the last one)
The whole thing screams "And you thought 'I'm with stupid ->' t-shirts were dumb."
His supply/demand curve has domestic supply/demand but no foreign supply/demand. It's a simple economic model out of context.
His shirt says "foster political dysfunction" like "fostering political function" is a better alternative.
For all the stupidity of bumper sticker philosophy, there are "enlightened" people (wearing Michigan hats) who are motivated to do more work to look more stupid. At least bumper sticker philosophy is cheap, easy, and occasionally entertaining.
This guy gets it...
Is this guy talking about all tariffs or just America's?
Just Michigan.
cheat at football for NCAA national championship - check
cheat at fungal research for Chinese national championship - check
Your tariffs are fostering my political dysfunction!
is "anyone wearing a shirt requiring more than 3 seconds to read gets punched in the face" a violation of the NAP?
It is, but I'm willing to forgo the NAP for that, as well as protest signs that require 10 seconds to read entirely.
No, as the NAP has already been violated by the guy wearing the shirt that takes more than three seconds to read.
who reportedly impressed upon the president the essential role that immigrants (not all of them with proper documentation, it seems) play on American farms.
They're not "immigrants"—they're illegal aliens. The farmers who hire them know full well they're breaking the law, and they don't give a fuck. And the few who aren't doing it for the same reasons Southern plantation owners kept Black slaves are doing it just to stay competitive—because you can’t compete while paying California minimum wage, plus benefits and everything else.
Pro-liberty is leftist.
Sadly you believe this.

At this moment in time, from what I've seen, the Democratic Party has more respect for liberty, both personal and economic, than Trump's Republican Party. Maybe the GOP will get back to its roots after Trump is no longer the party's god emperor. I hope so, but doubt it.
Then again you never defend democrats. Just ask yourself.
Remember to always check the New Progressive Dictionary. The latest edition defines "liberty" as a lack of personal responsibility and freedom from consequences. Thus Sarc is correct.
It's you Trump defenders who are now in the business of redefining words. Take "emergency" for example. Used to mean something important. Now it's just whatever ho-hum excuse Trump says when he wants more power. Another would be "jurisdiction". You guys are standing on your heads trying to redefine that so you can strip people of their citizenship. Or "liberty" which, to you guys, means asking permission and obeying commands. You guys are just like the leftists you hate, redefining words to increase power and decrease freedom. You're both scum.
Projection.
Stop using your lack of education as an attack on others.
""Trump defenders who are now in the business of redefining words. Take "emergency" for example. ""
Don't you know democrats did it first.
The concept of claiming emergency when there is not, pre-dates Trump.
Remember that Washington defied the expressed will of the Continental Congress when he ordered the inoculation of troops under his command with live smallpox virus. Claiming emergency is literally as old as the Republic.
still, will you stipulate that if the following is true, then you have no point
"ICE has generally focused its limited resources on arresting and removing migrants from the U.S. interior who pose public safety threats. Most interior removals are of immigrants who come into contact with the criminal justice system: 79 percent of ICE deportations from the interior in FY 2021-24 were of someone with a criminal conviction. And most removals from the interior are of migrants from Mexico or northern Central America."
The suspect is Vance Boelter, a 57-year-old man. He was arrested near Green Isle, Minnesota, about an hour west of Minneapolis, and he has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree attempted murder.
Have the MAGAs started a GoFundMe for their hero's legal defense? He killed Democrats. For MAGAs it doesn't get more heroic than that. Regardless I'm sure he'll get a pardon.
You are spiraling.
So you've gone the shrike route and ignored every single piece of information on the story to attack conservatives. But you're not a Democrat. Just ask yourself.
Projection.
He killed democrats for voting against democrats. Sounds exceptionally leftist. You fuckers are the insane violent monsters. Your kind has demonstrated it for two straight weeks.
Why do his motives matter? You guys are always saying that Democrats are the root of all evil in the world. You should be celebrating these murders. Now there's less evil in the world, right?
Just because you got a hard on with babbit being shot, doesn't mean everyone does dumbfuck.
But I get the need to project and defend your team.
Maybe Vance Boelter wanted some of that sweet $5 million Trump money if the cops had shot his piece of shit self.
You know - like the St Babbitt family got from us taxpayers.

""Have the MAGAs started a GoFundMe for their hero's legal defense?""
GoFundMe doesn't like that kind of thing.
It's not like they are progressives cheering the murder of a CEO.
How much did Luigi have in his GoFundMe before they pulled it?
Every time sarc comments I'm reminded of the study which demonstrated that while people on the right understand the left's positions quite well people on the left are completely fucking clueless. In sarc's defense though it's an act. Literally no one is as stupid as he presents himself.
'The parade was an absurd waste of money—Reason's Billy Binion crunched the numbers and found that it cost about half a million bucks per minute.'
Now ask Billy to crunch the numbers on all the No Kings parades (and demonstrations, protests, sit-ins, and love-fests). You can start with dedicated law enforcement costs, and other related municipal expenses.
"Democrats did it first, that makes it ok."
Poor sarc.
Got it. Youre still broken. And a Democrat.
Hey campers it's cold outside!

The parade was an absurd waste of money...
Next, do 4th of July celebration costs for government at all levels, Christmas parades, Macy's Thanksgiving parade...
And that Bicentennial crap I had to suffer through as a kid! And to thing, the Semiquincentennial is coming up next year! How much will we piss away on that deal?!
Every sporting event fly over.
Speaking of Bicentennial...commemorative coins, those aren't cheap to mint, all the Presidential Dollars, state quarters, ...
Hey, it takes money to make money.
Commemorative coins (at least those sold to collectors) are pretty profitable, I think. I think quarters still have a positive seigniorage, even when they change the backs more often. Minting money is typically (historically, at least) not a money loser for governments.
The presidential dollars, I contend, are the worst designed coins ever minted in all of human history. The portraits just look like bad, computer generated cartoons.
Let's not do those either. At least while we're paying for it with borrowed money.
'A deal being finalized by the White House would give presidents "a permanent stake in U.S. Steel, significant sway over its board and veto power over a wide array of company actions, an arrangement that could change the nature of foreign investment in the United States," The New York Times reports.'
Did the NYT "business" reporters have socialist-fascist boners?
"Socialists did it first, that makes it ok."
Says the guy wanting to raise income taxes again to pay for socialist spending.
Wow! A new one.
Drink!
Does being a retard make your dumb shit OK?
You are attacking people who oppose Trump's plan to start doing literal socialism by calling his critics socialist. The only possible conclusion is that socialists criticizing socialism is hypocritical, and that makes what Trump is doing ok. Same old Trumpian song and dance: call Trump critics hypocrites to shut down criticism and make whatever he's doing ok.
Like every socialist trump began by reducing the scope of government said the retarded leftist shit.
A drunk retard.
It was short lived, being Trotskyites they quickly grew into disillusionment knowing they would be on the outside looking in.

President Trump has secured a perpetual Golden Share as part of Nippon Steel’s acquisition of U.S. Steel. https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2025/6/15/2327392/-Elon-Musk-has-an-idea-for-a-new-political-party-that-already-exists
About a week ago, as his breakup with President Donald Trump went supernova, multibillionaire Elon Musk hit on a favorite idea among political dilettantes: “A new political party is needed in America to represent the 80% in the middle!”
Musk is no centrist, and his highest-profile policy moves have been widely unpopular, so who knows what kind of party he’s imagining. But the general idea—a party that appeals to a so-called middle majority—has recently been promoted by TV-friendly businessman Mark Cuban, presidential also-ran Andrew Yang, and the enervate political organization No Labels.
But these elites are all missing the same crucial fact: A political party that focuses on broadly popular policies already exists.
It’s the Democratic Party.
It’s the Democratic Party.
They truly are the root of all evil in the world. If only someone would start offing them. You know?
As seen this weekend, the Democrats have started killing Democrats who wouldn't conform.
That's a good thing, right? Less evil in the world.
If you say so, my Democratic Party friend (Please don't shoot me).
I'm neither a Republican nor a Democrat. So if I shoot you it will be because I don't like you, not because of politics.
Youre a leftist democrat.
Why lie at this point?
I notice you would kill somebody just because you don’t like them.
After feeding them horse meat.
Nothing wrong with horse.
The story as Sarc told it, was that his ex-wife really loved horses. They were her favorite thing. One day she had somehow pissed him off, so he fed her horse meat without telling her what it was while she was eating it.
That is mean.
Is feeding vegetarians meat without their consent assault or poisoning or both?
ML, if I had to guess, Sarc was lying about feeding her horsemeat. I don't doubt that he would stoop that low, but I do doubt that he had horsemeat just lying around in order to effect this revenge.
You can't readily buy it in US markets. Easiest option is to buy your own horse for the purpose of butchering it.
Sarc seems sociopathic enough.
""I'm neither a Republican nor a Democrat."'
Well you do complain more about one than the other. And if someone is complaining about democrats you will diss them and try to make it negative about Trump supporters.
Youre really sad the DNC is spiraling.
Told you you'd be ignored by the fat blue hairs on Saturday. Got your hopes up did you?
Oh wow! This is something Jeff would write.
"been promoted by TV-friendly businessman Mark Cuban, presidential also-ran Andrew Yang, and the enervate political organization No Labels."
Aww snap, Yang-gang assemble!
Musk is imaging a party that will split the right and ensure one party Democratic rule.
'But these elites are all missing the same crucial fact: A political party that focuses on broadly popular policies already exists.
'It’s the Democratic Party.'
They just have to open borders, DEI-LGBTQXYZ, $100 minimum wage, gun and speech control, wealth redistribution, climate hysteria, elite ruling class, and general socialism harder.

Rep. Becca Balint (D-Vt.) has come under fire for suggesting President Trump’s immigration crackdown will leave Vermonters without “anyone around to wipe our a–es.”
The congresswoman made the outrageous claim — which she herself called “crude” — during a town hall in Newport, Vt., last week, in response to a question about US immigration policy.
“Our economy is completely bound up in immigration and migrant labor,” Balint told her constituents. “We have to come to a place in Congress where it is no longer a political issue, but we see it as an existential issue for the country.”
“If we don’t have avenues for people to come here legally to work or to build a home here, I’m going to be really crude right now — we’re not going to have anybody around to wipe our a–es because we don’t have enough people in our country now to fill the jobs that we have.”
The economy isn't enormous and the US still the wealthiest nation in the world by almost any measure because of high skilled highly productive people. Nope. It is all about the low skilled slaves mowing that woman's lawn. She called it.
Democrats want to put an issue "beyond politics" means that they do not want it debated or decided by democratic means. They simply want anyone who disagrees to shut up and go away.
Democrats called immigrants shit-wipes first so that makes it OK?
Am I doing that right, Sarc?

NEW YORK, June 16 (Reuters) - The Trump Organization launched a self-branded mobile service and a $499 smartphone on Monday, dubbed Trump Mobile, signaling a new effort to court conservative consumers with a wireless service positioned as an alternative to major telecom providers.
The new mobile venture, announced at Trump Tower in Manhattan, will include call centers based in the United States and phones made in America, the organization said.

This ICE pause must be Trump's 4D chess in action. He actually wants to compromise on some kind of amnesty for all working illegal immigrants, something no Democrat has been able to do, and I believe the last such successful amnesty program was back in Sir Ronald's day.
Yeah, that's the ticket! Trump knows his tariffs have screwed any hope of getting anything done after the 2026 elections swing Congress Democratic, he doesn't give a shit about Vance or Rubio in 2028, so an amnesty for illegal immigrants is his best shot at a legacy.
No.
Yes.
No, asswipe.
Doubt it. He's stirred up so much xenophobic hatred by getting his base convinced that all working illegal immigrants are all criminal invaders intent on insurrection that I think even hardcore MAGA cultists like Jesse and ML would turn on him if he changed course on cleansing the nation of illegal vermin.
You sound just like Rachel maddow.
But he's not a democrat.
illegal vermin
You shitstain lefties inevitably go to far and reveal your bigotry and hatred with your vile rhetoric.
No, he is having ICE spend all its efforts going after criminals, because those are the people who need to be deported the most. The rest are starting to self deport. Nearly a million have already self deported
https://nypost.com/2025/06/15/opinion/nearly-1-million-illegal-immigrants-have-self-deported-under-trump-which-has-led-to-higher-wages/
And inflation is lower now than it has been in years. And the government collected nearly $70 billion in tariff revenue. So, your dreams of tariffs destroying the economy seem unlikely to come true. Dumb Ass.
Inflation is a matter of money supply which raises prices, but price rise alone is not inflation.
You must have missed that memo. Every time anyone says tariffs will cause inflation, the other Trumpies can be guaranteed to shout INFLATION IS A MONEY SUPPLY INCREASE!!!
Anyone who thinks raising taxes does not raise prices is as economically ignorant as Trump.
I didn't miss that memo. Tariffs are just another tax. That isn't going to do anything to the economy any other taxes do. If you were not such a dishonest dipshit, you would put two and two together and understand the implications of your own points.
In other words, if you Trumpies were not such dishonest dipshits, you'd admit he's raised taxes on Americans.
IOWs if you weren't such a brain-dead TDS-addled pile of shit, you'd admit Trump lowered taxes his last term of office, and if the tariffs are a negotiating tool, the increases here might well be temporary.
But that would require:
1) Honesty
2) Intelligence
Not a snowball's chance in hell.
Bzzzzt! Nice playing. But try thinking next time.
If the tariffs are a negotiating tool, that means they can be lowered below the point at which they block imports and revive US manufacturing. It also lowers them below the point at which they can generate enough revenue to replace the income tax.
SGT 1, Sevo -1
If the tariffs are temporary, they also won't block imports or raise revenue to replace the income tax.
SGT 2, Sevo -2
But what about the ripples?!?!?
Trumpians will admit that taxes raise prices when Democrats do it. But not with Trump. His taxes are magic.
Non idiots look at data to confirm their assumptions and modify their beliefs based on data. Opposite of you and stg on this topic.
We also realize economics isn't a first order linear model and can took at all the actions being taken.
But dont worry. Ripples are om the way.
Meanwhile keep pushing your bumper stickers that require inflationary policy to sustain. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That you don't know Eonomics is clear from the generality of your statements. Raising taxes can lower prices too. Are you talking corporate or personal, for example. The first things to go are luxury items and other sumptuary products. So if higher taxes limit my luxury spending I am now looking at the best buy in what is more essential and that can cause lower prices. A producer will recover by quantity what a cut in prices does to consumer spending.
This is how all things introduced like computers and even cars got to be affordable.
Raising taxes lowers prices. Yeah, right. Slavery is freedom.
Any raise in taxes can also slow commerce down which would put a damper on price increases.
So would bombing factories. All sorts of things can put a damper on price increases.
Get real. Trump raised prices.
"...Trump knows his tariffs have screwed any hope of getting anything done after the 2026 elections swing Congress Democratic,..."
The TARIFFS (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), which have seemed to have near zero financial effects, but have caused numerous head explosions in TDS-addled shit piles like you? Those?
Fuck off and die, asswipe.
I still find it funny STG avoided the study showing inflation is higher in blue states. Almost as if it is driven by regulatory and monetary policies, especially on energy, and not tariffs.
But he continues in the same manner as climate cultists.
Changing the subject, strawmanning, sounds like you're channeling sarc.
Prices can rise from lots of causes, not just Trump's tariffs, which raise prices universally in addition to whatever shenanigans blue states are up to.
It's funny how all Trumpies seem to have no sense of humor. They've got that in common with the lefty statists, which just proves that right == left for the fanatics.
Sevo can probably be forgiven, since simply living in San Francisco makes it hard to even recognize jokes. Poor, poor Sevo.
It's funny how all Trumpies seem to have no sense of humor.
Ah, so you were only "pretending" to be retarded... exactly like everyone said.
The joke is all the Trumpies claiming Trump is playing 4D chess, which may well be true, but the rest of the world is living real life, so Trump is only playing with himself.
TDS-addled shits cannot be forgiven, TDS-addled shit.
To show how stupid this person truly is Estimates are that in a lifetime we meet about 80 000 people . Now how my do we know to be Trumpies, how many can we tell are humorless and how many are knowably left or right. And the killer point to show how Stupid this poster is, how many percentage wise would cover all the traits stupid poster bases his assessment on.
My rough math says it can hardly break 5% at tops. So stupid hames 2 mistakes
1) the knowable candidates in his lifetime are less than .000001 % if US population and the remaining about which he doesn't know at all is over 99%.
Now, I do know that Stupid Government Tricks is a fool, Iknow that on the empirical basis he refuses to use 🙂
Eh? Is there some logic there?
This projects hard, like Newsweek's "How Hillary Clinton Still Can, and Should, Become President After the Trump-Russia Investigation" article.

Upon finding and searching Boelter’s car, police recovered a stash of papers and a notebook that reportedly lists about 70 potential targets. These included numerous prominent Democratic politicians in Minnesota, including U.S. Senator Tina Smith and Representatives Ilhan Omar, Kelly Morrison, and Angie Craig. Other targets included politicians from neighboring states, civic and business leaders, and Planned Parenthood centers. Police also said some of the documents indicated that Boelter may have been planning to target the anti-Trump “No Kings” protests that took place on Saturday.
...
Boelter and his wife, Jenny, appeared to run a private security company. They also appeared to lead a Christian nonprofit called Revoformation Ministries, as well as a company called Red Lion Group that claimed to create jobs for people in the Democratic Republic of Congo. A friend of Boelter’s told the Times he voted for Donald Trump in the 2024 election and was particularly opposed to abortion.

Yes, his “friend “ said so.
So what if Timpon appointed him to office.
He was in some obscure security detail, idiot.
That is all you wingnuts have - APPOINTED BY WALZ!
The guy was an Aborto-Freak pastor. 100% of Aborto-Freaks are conservative.
"...That is all you wingnuts have - APPOINTED BY WALZ!..."
turd alert!
turd, the ass-clown of the commentariat, lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a kiddie diddler, and a pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.
If anything he posts isn’t a lie, it’s totally accidental.
turd lies; it’s what he does. turd is a lying pile of lefty shit.
Looks like turd had to change his handle again; busted for more kiddie-porn, slimy pile of lying lefty shit?
Boelter, a self-described security professional, was a political appointee on a state workforce development board. Records show that Hoffman was on the same 60-member board, but it is unclear whether Boelter and Hoffman knew each other.
According to state records, Boelter was first appointed to the board in 2016 by then-Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton and reappointed in 2019 by current Governor Tim Walz, a Democrat, for a four-year term until 2023.
SPB wrong again
state workforce development board
what a joke
He was barely a glorified recruiter/HR hack
More like a sinecure for hanger's-on.

You give your socks away so easily, Shrike. Some time, you might actually want to vary the language and terms you use.
Now there is a "target list" being pushed around that doesn't include the first victim, is from last years dem legislative members, has people on there multiple times. The vullshit coming out is wild.
Oh, goody! An anonymous source says something, according to this steaming pile of TDS-addled shit and Rollingstone!
Fuck off and die, shitstain.
I haven’t seen a single Republican praise Vance Boelter.
Meanwhile, the left treats Luigi Mangione like a patron saint. If Mangione somehow got out of jail, he would be the front runner for the 2028 Democratic nomination.
Go fuck yourself.
With a barb-wire wrapped broomstick.
Meanwhile, the left treats Luigi Mangione like a patron saint.
"the left"? Bullshit. Name a Democrat pol who praised that murderer.
Now if you mean the riff-raff "progressive" internet - then yes. I've seen that a lot.
They are the equivalent of Stormfront on the right. No one prominent wants to associate with them.
turd certainly is dishonest, but he’s got a heaping helping of stupid to go with his dishonesty. Stupid, lying, despicable steaming pile of TDS-addled lefty shit and proud of it!
Elizabeth Warren:
The visceral response from people across the country who feel cheated, ripped off, and threatened by the vile practices of their insurance companies should be a warning to everyone in the healthcare system.
She didn't mention Mangione.
Everyone hates the insurers. She mentioned "the people" who feel ripped off by insurers.
turd lies. turd lies when he knows he’s lying. turd lies when we know he’s lying. turd lies when he knows that we know he’s lying.
turd lies. turd is a lying pile of TDS-addled lefty shit and a pederast besides.
WTF dumbass. The quote was a reponse to Mangione murdering a healthcare ceo. You can't be that stupid.
And where did she condone the murder?
Nowhere.
this is the original claim:
"Meanwhile, the left treats Luigi Mangione like a patron saint"
You find a fucking quote that does that.
Put up or shut up.
turd, the ass-clown of the commentariat, lies; it’s all he ever does. turd is a kiddie diddler, and a pathological liar, entirely too stupid to remember which lies he posted even minutes ago, and also too stupid to understand we all know he’s a liar.

Narrator: "dude, it is shrike. Of course he is."
Apophasis.
That was during an MSNBC interview...
"Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., is under fire for her statement to Joy Reid on MSNBC explaining why Luigi Mangione allegedly murdered UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Warren explained that this was a “warning ” that “you can only push people so far.” After a public outcry, Warren walked back her statement. Yet, the statement captures the growing radicalism on the left, particularly among anti-capitalist, Democratic Socialists, and other groups. It is also notable how many of the same political and media figures who were apoplectic and unrelenting over the false claim about Trump’s “fine people on both sides” statement are largely disinterested in this and other extreme comments on the left.

Luigi Mangione’s Senate Explainers
Warren and Sanders tell us why killing CEOs is understandable.
If you think sympathy for the devil in Luigi Mangione is confined to the fever swamps of Reddit, consider comments by Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Asked Tuesday about those celebrating the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, the Massachusetts Democrat called it a “warning.”
Did she mean a warning not to shoot someone? Not quite.
You don't mean to suggest that turd lies, do you?!
Well, turd does lie. It's what turd does.
The wise Native-American Warren's responses juxtapose to those of her fellow Democrat...
"Fetterman criticized those praising Mangione in comments to NBC News’s Sahil Kapur.
“He’s the a--hole that’s going to die in prison. Congratulations if you want to celebrate that. A sewer is going to sewer. That’s what social media is about this. And I don’t know why the media wants to turn that into a story, just with these trolls saying these kinds of things anonymously like that,” Fetterman said, according to Kapur.
“I don’t know why that’s news. Remember, he has two children that are going to grow up without their father… It’s vile," he added.

Chris Murphy said that Magione's actions should create a national conversation about the evils of insurance execs. The guy is a rock star who gets thousands of pieces of fan mail from Democrats every day.
Need quote and link.
You fucking conservatives lie all the time.
More lies from turd! Surprise (NOT!).
https://thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/5046690-murder-is-bad/
On Sunday afternoon, Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), a seemingly reasonable member of the Democratic Party, sat down in front of his phone and recorded a two-minute video for his million followers on X. “I know it’s uncomfortable for political leaders to wade into the conversation that’s happening in this country in the aftermath of the murder of the United Health CEO,” he wrote. “But we need to listen to what people are feeling. And act.”
He said that “political leaders need to be part of this conversation” after the murder of Brian Thompson, the UnitedHealthcare CEO, on Dec. 4 on a New York City street, execution-style, by a young Ivy League graduate from a wealthy Maryland family. Murphy went on to rail against a “health care industry that mostly doesn’t give a s— about people and only cares about profits.”
Said Murphy: “Murder is never justified. It isn’t. But if this country’s leaders don’t pay attention to the conversation happening right now this weekend, that is a mistake.”
That construction was not unique to Murphy. “Violence is never the answer, but people can be pushed only so far,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) told HuffPost. “This is a warning that if you push people hard enough, they lose faith in the ability of their government to make change.”
“Shooting somebody in the back is totally unacceptable, but what I think has happened in the last few months is what you have seen rising up is people’s anger at a health insurance industry which denies people the health care that they desperately need,” said Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on “Meet the Press.”
It’s all the same purposeful vacillation. Murder is never justified, but. Violence is never the answer, but. Shooting somebody is unacceptable, but …
All reasonable comments and no one encouraging violence.
You know, people can be angry when their claims are denied without calling for violence (as is the case with these three Senators).

Boehm's "pro-liberty positions" apparently is breaking-in and squatting on other people's property/nation.
Just repeating the cliche claims of leftard self-entitlement to anything they want. [WE] have a right to invade! [WE] have a right to healthcare! [WE] have a right to more pay! [WE] have a right to STEAL!
Defending the Nation against invasion, defending Individual Liberty and ensuring Justice for all gets in the way of our [WE] Liberty to TAKE, break-in and SQUAT-on what-ever [WE] want claims.
>>Meanwhile, the bodies are piling up on both sides.
are you sure? I've heard dozens on the one side, like exactly two dozen may they rest in peace.

Having awoken from a coma, I am relearning things but I need help.
Can someone tell me if the band Styx is either horrible or awesome?
And is Dennis De Young an inversion of Freddy Mercury?
I loved my Pieces of Eight album.
Yes, Renegade and Great White Hope. Yeah. Grand Illusion, Paradise Theater, Cornerstone, & Po8 are all pretty consistent, and then you get Kilroy.
But there is a streak of musical theater ala Queen/Bohemian Rhapsody underlying as well.
guessing musical theatre v. rock debate is why they hated each other for so long
That and JY/Tommy seem to live in D DY's shadow
Never liked a note of Styx and I was a massive rocker
Not a blue collar man...
Before you learn about Styx, you really need to learn about baiting on the internet. Because pretty much everybody who hasn't been in a coma for 25 yrs., including small, naive children, is going to assume you're still suffering from severe brain damage.
Is it any wonder I'm null and void?
Tommy Shaw is in the White Castle Hall of Fame. Tommy Shaw is awesome.
He is really talented, but D DY was the hit writer for Styx. Too Much Time is his high water mark with them...IMO
I've given up hope on the afternoon soaps
Is it any wonder I'm not the President?
Speaking of which (coma, not Styx)
Liberal Wakes Up From a Coma in 2025

The Steelers have been playing Renegade in stadium during a commercial break in the 4th quarter since the early 2000s. It's quite the spectacle to see, with the entire stadium going nuts as soon as they hear the song intro beginning. The stats show it's been rather effective for the Steelers defense, getting a sack, turnover, or 3 and out in the ensuing drive.
That alone makes Styx awesome to me. But I like their music too.

“He’s a folk hero. He’s also hot,” said an attendee named Tom. “I mean, the bondage-y thing works too,” he added, referring to the viral image of Mangione’s shackled legs and stylish footwear.
Completely insane. Reopen the asylums please.
Fans Yelp-bombed the Pennsylvania McDonald’s where he was apprehended
Broken theater kids.
He wanted to get caught. He had the evidence with him. Why you would punish fast food workers for playing along with the plot, outside pure narcissistic pathology, is beyond me.
It's like a giant, much more lame, real life reenactment/remake of Natural Born Killers.
What if there was a big dumb parade and no one cared?
It would reveal how absurd the handwringing and histrionics of the Narrativists doomsaying futures of fascism and authoritarianism were leading up to it.
Compare to military parades of actual totalitarian regimes like China and N. Korea, where attendance is noted and the applause is thunderous.
Worst authoritarian evah.

Put the women in the firing line.
The suspect is Vance Boelter, a 57-year-old man.
And immediately, before anyone has a chance to be appalled at murder, he’s turned into a political volleyball for opposing sides trying to spike each other. No time to measure a response, immediately people feel compelled to”win.”
Compare to the Waukesha parade killer who media refused to assign motive when it was clearly racial and promptly memory holed the entire incident.
I read that it was a red SUV that was the parade killer. Are you telling me there was a driver of that red SUV? That's a bit far fetched!
Matt Yglesias writes that California's high-speed rail project should be scrapped. He's not wrong.
This is incomplete. What did he say about it at the time? Since it's turning out exactly as everyone knew it would there is no justification for any change in opinion.
